It is hard to write a review for Bluestone without comparing it to what it is being labelled as, 'Center Parcs in Wales, but cheaper'. On the face of it, yes, there are lots of similarities. Lodge type accommodation, bookable activities, restaurants, bars, swimming pool, and all in a countryside setting. Having been to Center Parcs many times, I was dubious that this could be on the same level, without the cost. However, I was pleasantly surprised. There are many things that Bluestone is doing better than Center Parcs, and there are many things Center Parcs does better. Accommodation: large lodges are set in large 'gardens'. There is plenty of room for your kids to run around, kick a ball to each other, have a bbq, or gather round and chat. Our lodge was 2 stories, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 1 ensuite. Large lounge area, dining area, and a large, fully equipped kitchen. I find this to be far better than the Center Parcs setup. Your dinner can also be delivered to your lodge. The curry we had was great. Onsite: Similarly, there are no vehicles allowed on site unless you are dropping your worldly belongings to your lodge. To get around the site, you can hire bikes, with tag along or trailer options, or you can also hire a golf buggy. The site does have some hills, but not on the scale of Center Parcs! You can, of course, walk. The site really isn't that big. The golf buggys were a big hit with the kids, even though they only moved at a walking pace. There are many areas for you to explore. The small town feels unique and is a nice area to get food, have a drink whilst the kids play in the park, get a food shop in, or buy souvenirs, etc. The Serendome has lots to do, it is under cover so can be used in all weather. You have a stage hosting various shows and activities, a children's park, water play, food stalls, high wire activity, and a bar. The Hive has a very large soft play area, bouncy castle, bowling, and food was really nice here. Blue Lagoon (swimming pool): The pool is adequate. If you have been to Center Parcs, then you will be disappointed by the pool at Bluestone. However, it is still a good pool. With a large shallow area, which has a deeper area further in. At points, there is a wave machine that comes on. Large small kids area, along with smaller areas for the to play. A Lazy River that travels outside and has a decent current to pull you around. There are 3 flumes, 1 gentle one for younger kids (over 1.1m) and 2 faster flumes, that are by no means extreme, but they are in darkness, which adds to the adrenaline. You also have an outdoor 'rapids' which opens at 10am. Again, not on the scale of Center Parcs, but fun still. The queuing system for the flumes and rapids could be improved. I found myself waiting for flumes that no one had gone down in the time I was standing there. The outdoor rapids are only 1 Preston at a time at the top, but once you are in, you can gather as a group. The water in the pool is very warm, which is great when you stay in there for a long time. We also booked the Black Pool Mill for dinner Sunday afternoon. The food was amazing, and they were very accommodating of such a large group. This restaurant is a short walk from the main site. All in all, Bluestone is very well priced. You get a 10% discount on your next booking if you book before you leave, and we have done exactly this. With a group of friends (10 adults, 8 kids, and 2 lodges), this is an absolute bargain. We all had an amazing time and will definitely be going back a few more times.

Beds were horrendous seem to lack checking quality of lodges and the bins when new visitors are checking in. It's ok if you have small child under 5 any old will be bored out of there mind as charge for everything 💸. Will never by going back there. There are way better places for that sort of money to go.

We've had many visits to Bluestone and always had a lovely time. Highlights for me are the variety of wild birds visiting the fat balls and seeds I always take along. Bluestone is the only place I've ever spotted a live badger.

Just had a lovely holiday at Bluestone with family we stayed in a one bed cottage in the village which was very well equipped with everything you need. The starter pack had washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets cloths etc and bags for rubbish and recycling. The bathroom was massive with a lovely big bath two sinks and a big walk in shower we also had a downstairs toilet. Bed was OK but mattress was a little uncomfortable. Outside had a table and bench where you could sit to eat. The village area that we were in had a playground, coffee shop restaurant and pub all in short walking distance. Our daughter stayed in a lodge which was also lovely. We arrived in a lot of rain which made unloading quite difficult as we couldn't get very close to the cottage and it took us a while to find it as the map we had been given just circled the village but didn't show us exactly where our cottage was so I had to go search for it. The complex itself has loads to do especially for children I don't think it would be such a good place without them to be honest. We took our own food so did not eat out. I would recommend a visit with children and I'm sure without the rain it would be perfect.

We love Bluestone. This was our 13th visit and, yet again, we had a great time. Stunning scenery, cosy lodges and lots of fun things to do.

Absolute gash. A total waste of money and a huge rip off. Not all it's cracked up to be. We'll never go again. If it's raining it's just an expensive nightmare. Wildlife everywhere was a great thing to see. We fed the birds. Even a woodpecker came to feed. A meal we had at one of the restaurants that should have cost about £40 came to nearly £100.

Visited the Village store. Met Peter, the store manager, and 2 of his team. Always busy, but service quick and friendly. More often than not, you will find what you need during your stay here. Two entrances/exits catering for wheelchair access.

We stayed in Merlins Crest. The accommodation was perfect, large amount of space and spotlessly clean. Bedrooms well services two with en suite. Wi fi and TV available as well as HDMI connections for own devices. The rest of the resort is perfect and worth every penny.

Great resort, lodges are nice, shame the slides are not open fridays and mondays, we should be informed about that, and sooo many buggies around. Bluestone just making money, i know its a business but a good walk in the welsh fresh air is better than anything. Just my opinion

The food at the Knights Tavern is almost beyond belief. Tucked away in a resort, the food here delivers one of the best curries I have had in maybe 10 years. The flavours are expertly mixed, the Pappadums are perfectly cooked, presentation is excellent and as is service and wholly worth the trip alone. Very rarely do I feel the need to propse you book a stay based on the food, but this place certainly is worth the trip.
