Blue Chicago Grill in Castlereagh

First time back at Blue Chicago in a number of years. First impressions, the restaurant looked run down and lacklustre. Guy serving us was very prompt and courteous which was great. My Wife and I ordered a single course each with soft drink. My Wife had the Chicken sizzler which she said was tasty but was a very small portion. I had the Got spicy beef pizza which was really poor. Looked and tasted like a supermarket bought pizza which the top had been squired with burger sauce, very bland. Meal cost £40.00. As I said service was good but food was mediocre at best, very disappointed.

My sister has a fish allergy and this has to be stated in every restaurant, but she had eaten here before with no problems but she’s informed the server just incase, and she went to the chef and then came back and told us all she could pretty much eat was salad. And my sister didn’t want to argue or chance it so she got the salad . I got chicken strips that weren’t even nice and my brother got the chicken sizzler and it was lukewarm, and my boyfriend got the burger. Over it was £70 which is disgraceful.

Food was amazing and we will definitely be back.

MAGGOTS were in the Cesar salad. We were offered another Cesar salad as if that would make up for it. The "cook" obviously told the server to tell us that it was because the salad wasn't washed properly. Do they honestly think it's believable that maggots come in their delivery of salad they get? Absolutely disgusting. Even charged us for the rest of the bill which is ridiculous. I'll be staying away from all these places and will steer anyone I know clear of them.

Food outstanding, definitely recommend!

Burger was half the size it normally is and hard as rock, really disgusting, couldn't eat it. 7 small chicken nuggets didn't even fill half a tub. Vile in taste and price! Normally good here, if I could give you zero stars for quality, I would!

Twice I have ordered for a specific time and had to wait about 10 mins as it wasn't ready.

Really disappointed! We usually love this place but our food last night was not good! The fish and chips felt off, the fish was grey and after eating it I didn't feel too great! The food took forever to be served and not the usual service or friendliness we usually experience! I think we will leave going back for a while unfotunately!

It was a very busy evening, but the food was very good, everything very clean , service fast , but the absolute best was the lovely staff . We had a few different girls serving us every single one was super polite and friendly. We felt very welcome . We visited the first time today , we will definitely be back .

This place looks amazing. The atmosphere is good, the music is a cool jazzy beat and the décor is class. This place just looks first class. The staff is rather friendly and warm, which is great, however the little girl serving us went away, then came back and asked us the same question three times, so she is either new or not very focused. The food was very poor. I asked for a 160z sizzler and upon asking how I wanted my steak I asked for medium/rare. This is the way I always have my steak, weather out at other restaurants or cooking at home in my outdoor kitchen area, if not sometimes I like it rare. HOOOOOOWEVER, I received my steak and it was full cooked to well done, as was my wife's, which was wrong also. It was dry and tough, so quite the unpleasant surprise for my birthday treat meal. Being so dang hungry, I just ate it as I could not wait another 20 mins for food. Once we were ready to pay I was asked if everything was ok, so I nicely explained that my steak was overcooked, but I was too hungry to wait again. You can see the steak in the photos - it's grey in the middle. The manager was super nice and apologised for the mistake, but only offered to give us something to make up for us next time we came in, but as we live about 65 miles away that was not suitable, so we paid in full £86, pity we were not offered something off the meal in lieu of this, but I was not bothered about the money, just a little sad they were not kind enough to offer something for that night. Once again quite the sad birthday treat on our vacation. The table cleaning and sweeping of the floor is not good. I took a photo of under two tables and they are quite filthy and they were left like that for 30 mins until we left - just a bit unsightly. As for the Madrid beer, it was unfortunately not poured well and not next to no head. All in all not impressed, but the premises décor and music helped kill a bit of the negative vibes.

Staff were absolutely fantastic, super friendly and accommodating to our needs. Food was lovely and an overall great experience. Never disappoints!

A family celebration day that was made even better by super waiter service and good food.

Ribs cold, unable to have any sauce as they all contain garlic which I dislike. Husband's steak was stringy and inedible. Service was fine, food was poor.

Driver went to wrong restaurant ( Bull & Bear ) and there was a whole confusion as there was a language barrier. Food 37 minutes Late due to all the confusion. Thankfully the staff at Blue Chicago Grill got me a fresh order and I finally got my food.

Driver decided to take a whole detour instead if of taking the more simple route. Sat down to food and it’s very cold. I’m sure this nothing to do with the restaurant as they always deliver Hot quality food. So disappointing

We have been here a few times and the food is always good. The portion sizes seem smaller but this is not a negative comment as before I thought the portions where too big. Place was busy but the wait was not long.

Phoned Earlier Today To Make Sure BCG Could Accommodate My Wife Who Is In A Wheelchair As According To Online It Was All "Booths". Spoke To Jackson Who Assured Me A Booth Could Be Rearranged To Accommodate Us. My Word, He Did Just That. Amazing. As We Arrived, The Very Same Person Opened The Main Door For Us And Made Us All Feel So Welcome. Showed Us To Our Table, Which Was Fully Accessible For My Wife. He Looked After Us The Whole Time We Were There. Both Food And Staff 5*. Will Definitely Be Back !!! Would REALLY Like To Let Jackson Know How Much We Appreciated What He Done For Us Today. He Really Did Go The Extra Mile...

for how expensive it was not very good. Veggie burger was dry and somewhat flavourless and it had a dusting of bbq sauce instead of a normal amount of sauce. Chips arrived cold.

Ordered a medium steak. It was rear. The chips where some store bought mush and the peppered sauce was the worst I've tried. Ps. I also have severe food poisining as I write this!!

Couldn't fault the place, reasonable prices, food was spot on and nice large portions, staff were all very friendly and helpful, I definitely recommend the large sesame seed chicken 👌

First time ordering from Blue Chicago & being fair, the food would’ve been really nice had it arrived warm but it was freezing! I watched the journey of the courier on the map & it was obvious he was out with more than one delivery as there was a long delay in one of the areas of nearly 10mins.

Buffalo chicken burger was a bit dry and a struggle to eat .Blue cheese dip was very mild , not much blue cheese flavour . Chicago fries where underwhelming, nit enough parmesanand scallions mixed through . Big beefy burger was a bit dry and overcooked, struggle to eat . On a brighter not pepper sauce and chunky chip's were very tasty . Not sure if I'd order again !

January 2023 and my first visit in 3yrs and I promised my guest they would enjoy as our food would arrive promptly after we placed our order- what an understatement that was. Whilst the ordering and drinks arriving was prompt, it all fell apart then. Food took 40mins to arrive, the last 5mins I actually could see the dishes sitting waiting to be sent to our table. And when it arrived, my legendary chicken stack was just about warm- far from acceptable and seemed to have shrunk in size... The reason for the poor service, chef issues. An offer of a new dish was turned down, I couldn't face another long wait. Whilst our drinks came free as compensation, It was for me an embarrassing visit as I had foolishly gave such a glowing review to my quest. To sum up, disappointed- and will I return, no! As in my previous review- is the price justifiable?

delivery was fine but the burger was average, the nachos were stale and soggy with too much siracha. the chicken stripes were tough.

Service was quite poor when i went out for a birthday meal. Had to wait 20 minutes for one drink when everybody else at the table had already received there’s. Food was bland and presentation on the brisket and bird stack made me feel as though i was eating puréed baby food!!!!!! Restaurant seemed incredibly overwhelmed and understaffed which is a shame because i’ve heard nothing but good things about this restaurant

Been here 2-3 times but this is the 1st review and each time I've been here it's always been very good, so no complaints. There have been a few negative reviews of late, certainly that was not my experience. Also, while we are in the current 'post-covid, post-brexit' economic downturn there was no shortcuts or cutting corners on quality or quantity - something I've noticed at other eating places. So, yes I will be back and yes I can recommend.

I can't say enough good things about this place we went here for my 30th birthday dinner all of us had a good time the service was great they even gifted me a birthday muffin with a candle they were so nice I will say we did have to wait about 10mins good vegetarian menu and when you ask for no cheese they give you no cheese

Amazing food, though pricey. The service is great, but it can be tricky to catch their attention if you need something or wish to pay the bill. All in all, a great place.

I'm delighted we discovered a decent restaurant in Belfast because the food was soo delicious. However, because of the powerful odor, my husband had politely inquired with the waiter if they were remodeling the place. "Yeah, but you can go to the next restaurant if you want; they have almost the same menu!" was his reply. Honestly, we thought that was strange and impolite! He might have said this because he noticed our children and was worried about the strong smell for young children, or he might have said it because he didn't give a damn about customers and acting rudely. To be honest, though, this didn't interfere with the service—it was excellent, and we will definitely revisit.

The chicken was cold and greasy.Chips were cold and the milk shake had spilt and was like coloured water.

Considering it was a small order of just one meal you’d think they would get it right. Ordered and paid extra to get sweet potato fries as my side and they sent ordinary fries. Says a lot for their customer care and service. First and last time I will order from them.

I would like to write this review on how amazing the blue Chicago staff were. I ordered food for collection and because of the long wait. They gave me my food for free. I would like to thank you all the staff members on being so helpful and especially to the staff member Jackson and the other staff member who was with him at the time as well. I would recommend this place to so many people. The food is unbelievable and the staff members are really nice. Thanks again to all the staff members.

well over £30,for vile & obscene,greasy and STONE COLD FOOD.TO MY FRONT DOOR,IN A BROWN,THIN ,PAPER BAG. IN GREASY,COLD CARDBOARD "PACKAGING" ..? WHAT,IS WRONG WITH,PEOPLE!!...?

This is the second time I've ordered from Blue Chicago in the past 2 weeks. The first time the order took 2 hours to come & this time an hour & a half. The food was lovely the first time however it was a bit cool this time round.

Burger was dry, chips too greasy. Just Eat decided delivering it via bicycle was a good idea despite the distance.

Top-line: Not Worth It! I doubt I'll be back here again, it simply wasn't even close to being worth the money. I had the honey garlic chicken sizzler but there was practically no honey or garlic flavour at all. It was just a dry, overcooked, crispy chicken sizzler with the only other flavours being the few veg that came with it. Simply not good enough for £17.50 - this is the same cost of a main course in The Dirty Duck or in The Old Inn in crawfordsburn. I actually had the same dish (or close enough) in The Dirty Duck before, £18 there I believe, and boy oh boy does that extra 50p go a long way. They really need to cook the chicken for a shorter time and it is literally crying out for a glaze or a sauce on the side. How much would a a small spot of delicious sauce cost them, 20p or there abouts. Partner had a aimilar story with the beef and bird sizzler. Her beef was ok and the chicken was, again, massively overcooked. The saving grace here was that at least she'd a wee pot of pepper cream sauce to give the meat a little flavour. Then there's their general pricing. They charge you £4 to upgrade your side to "house fries". I would have liked the salt n chilli fries. At £6 they are £2 more expensive than the normal sides that are included with your meal. It's only £2 but come on, why are they being stupid when trying to upsell something? Had to decline on principal. You can verify everything I've complained about in the photos I've uploaded with this review, including their rediculous pricing. Edited only to fix some typos I made on my phone. Content is exactly the same as before.

Went to our favourite spot before the cinema. Seated right away by a lovely girl and orders taken. The wife and i had the steak which was amazing and cooked perfectly for us. Grandaughter had chicken burger. All meals were hot and we were checked on how our meals were. Lovely staff and atmosphere. Will defnitely be back.

Meal turned up really late and food cold because they couldn’t find correct address. Rang restaurant and because order was through Just Eat they said they couldn’t help.
