Blue Cedar is right in centre of Ballynahinch. Locally owned and the food is homebaked with a wide variety to choose from. Ample seating and for all weather. Variety of plants to pick from after you are finished your coffee.

Sullen, can’t be bothered staff. Loved the concept of Blue Cedar but staff seriously let it down. Ordering coffee 20 mins before closing seemed tiresome for the staff. No offer of help to access the toilet when code didn’t work. No smiles, welcome or warmth. We went to Harry’s round the corner as 3pm closing is rather uncommercial. Harry’s was a fantastic and welcoming environment.

Bluecedar I'm my experience have always been welcoming, staff willing to help and assist with a friendly approach, I have bought many times from garden centre through my business and help, advice and quality of product is excellent. Needless to say I have ventured round the shop and have bought coffees and food here too. I haven't had any negative experience here and as for pricing, the cost of everything is up! However you get what you pay for! If you decide to sit in for a coffee or sweet treat that's grand, there's people on here expecting the heated indoors etc. Folks they don't put a blindfold on you when in the place, anyone can clearly see there are open cabins with no doors before they decide they would like to purchase coffee. Blue cedar have continued to add and grow the business expanding on customer comfort. Yes they have little heaters on the cabins to assist with colder days, these aren't cheap to run! I read one review about the cabin being too cold in February? Again when you walk through the entrance they done trick you into buying coffees or allude to having indoor, heated air tight dining areas! On top of this if you can venture out in February for a coffee and expect it not to be cold outside then your dreaming. Nobody forced you to choose there. I'm sure you were glad of the little heaters however compared to walking in the wind chill? Another commented on tables being too small? You done go here for tapas or 4 course meal, the table is for coffee and small plates but a buffet, that said they are big enough for lunch. I think some of the reviews are a bit too picky. This is a lovely garden centre with helpful staff, the coffee is from a proper machine and the food is spot on. If you haven't been before my advise would be to visit and make up your own mind. Most reviews are accurate in part but come quite picky and undermine the views of others. Value for money is something nobody would agree of given different expectations form different people. I think they've always been fair. Someone said 2 tea, two traybakes and some dog biscuits was £19! If you visit Dobbies or the likes you can expect to pay more! Be your own judge, give it a go. Everybody's entitled to Thier opinion if you like it say so, if you don't then say so. I feel some of the reviews here are a bit petty, but then again maybe that's just me being defensive because my experiences have always been very good.

Nice menu but expensive for what it is, order was wrong and staff were a bit stroppy when asked to correct it, even then it came back wrong. Won’t rush back. There are warmer more welcoming places to get lunch in the area.

Visited on a bright sunny but bitterly cold day. Didn’t realise there wasn’t an indoor cafe. We sat outside in a wooden cabin with no door, with just a small wall heater. There was room to bring the buggy in, although that meant there was only a very small coffee table in that particular booth. No room to set down the food, just space for a coffee cup Lots of wooden cabins available, for me it would be better enjoyed on a a warmer day. Th food was really good and everyone really enjoyed what they had. Good selection of plants and an interesting little shop.

A well stocked garden centre for this time of year (October) and a wonderful selection of food in their restaurant which has a lovely wood stove to heat you up on a cold day. The manager and his sister are both knowledgeable about plants and food and they make customers most welcome.

We usually stop in Ballynahinch on our way home from Newcastle. I noticed the wall sign for Blue Cedar and we decided to call in for coffee. What a creative and imaginative venue. Enjoyed excellent coffee sitting outside amongst the beautiful plants. There are plenty of covered areas throughout the premises to enjoy a drink. Will definitely be going back.

Nice setup outside with heaters even for a cold day. Friendly staff with a unique menu. Only problem I thought was it’s a bit pricey for what you get

Strange venue to be on / in the dining category on Trip Advisor seeing as these premises are primarily an open to the elements yard displaying and selling potted plants / “ wee” flowers. There are steel haulage lorry containers configured around the yard altered to facilitate the partaking of a coffee and snacks type of nourishment. Seeing as the “Hinch” is fistoon with outlets for the partaking of not exactly mid range to top calibre food ( Primrose apart and in the past the now defunct Bull & Ram ) it is a smite difficult to comprehend just how many covers such a set up as Blue Cedar would attain in a 9 to 4 pm Mon to Sat open for business day. Is is noted that there are a fine display of wild grasses nonchalantly growing on the footpath at the entrance to the yard from the main arterial street of the town. Not a sharp presentation for a sort of horticulture type business.

Visited multiple times and couldn’t recommend it enough. Loads of great options on the new menu including the French toast which was delicious. There’s also a great selection of items in the garden centre sheds.

Although this little bus station cafe is small and always busy because of those who are passing through, I can honestly say some of the best coffee in Downpatrick is served here. Very reasonably priced, and they have specials on regularly to suit the season. Even if you're not making a trip anywhere, stop here for a lovely brew and a fresh baked good or confectionary of your choice to carry you through your day.

Great as they are registered with Coeliac UK, which means they cook my pizza separate and safely. Staff very pleasant.

This is my favorite little spot to go and have a nice brunch with myself, or with my baby or family! It’s tucked away but they’re always busy. Food is good, baked goods are yummy and staff is sweet!
