Beef dripping chippies, immense

I have visited Blist Hill annually for many years. Every year, we have the beef dripping fried chips as a treat. The chips were always good. Went today, and the chip shop now serves crinkle cut chips, which appear to be from a reject line. Half cooked and hard in the middle. I am very disappointed that they have cut corners to save money and maximise profits. I will probably leave it a few years before I consider going again.

Excellent fish and chips, proper nostalgic experience. Cooked fresh and plenty of salt and vinegar, perfect!

Fish and Chips cooked in beef dripping tasted how they used to. They do cook them in vegetable oil if you should want them.

I had fish and chips decent price, and they were delicious. Haven't had decent chips like that for years 😕 x

Nice fish and chips, a good price, can be a wait for them and there’s not really anywhere to eat them after which is a shame, especially in cold weather there’s only really like four seats which were taken.

On busy half term holiday expect to queue at least half an hour at lunchtime. Fish and chips however very good.

Terrible service ,chips were good but fish went in the bin. Contacted Blists Hill several times but no reply only saying they are having technical issues.

Fish and chips cooked in beef fat for a taste of the past. Served in the paper. Great. You can shelter from the rain in adjoining room to eat, where there are wooden benches.

Over priced and over hyped. I have had much better chips in lots of places. I could not believe the prices. Perhaps I expected too much after reading all the hype. I would not revisit again. Blists Hill is a superb place to visit, but take your own food.
