Blakeman's in Shropshire

We called into this cafe at 4.25pm for a quick coffee & cake before we set off for home. There were 2 other couples present. We went to the counter & the young assistant kept her back to us & didn’t say anything! She was preparing another order so after trying & failing to make eye contact we found a table & read the leaflet about the warm welcome the cafe likes to give its visitors!! Once the drinks had been delivered to another table I approached the counter again. The assistant kept her back to me & continued to tidy away! I greeted the assistant & gave her our drink order. She grimaced in return & before I could could state the cake order she interrupted & said ‘Is that it’? I decided it was! We cancelled our drinks & left!! This is the worst service we have ever received in a cafe and it was in sharp contrast to all the other shops we had visited that day.

Really lovely little cafe, all the family really enjoyed it. The sausage rolls are particularly fantastic but couldn't fault any of the food. Lovely friendly service.

Fantastic food, lovely cakes and tasty "sausage" rolls, especially the apple one. The cakes were really good too. Cheerful helpful staff. Clean and welcoming. Steady stream of locals passing through having teas and coffees. Well worth a visit.

My favourite café because the menu, service and ambiance are perfect. It’s. Small, intimate cafe with a cosy snug. The coffee and teas are brilliantly sourced. The food is varied and interesting, not the usual boring fare. Oh but the cakes!!! If you haven’t tried the rhubarb and custard cake just get there now and indulge. I actually dream about it. Always lovely, sweet ladies to serve you and prices are exceptionally reasonable. I love this place.

Best cake in Church Stretton!! Absolutely gorgeous little cafe with a cute snug area in the back. They have a great choice of cakes - all delicious! I had to buy extra to take home because I couldn't choose. They have loads of veggie and vegan options so the best place for veggie and vegan food in town too! 🙂

We found this cafe as coming off the hills in need of hot food and drinks. We had a vegan “sausage” roll and a coffee and walnut cake. Both were delicious and we then discovered the cake was vegan too. Lovely friendly cafe with delicious homemade food. Dog friendly. We came back for lunch 2 days later and sampled more cakes and pastries. Wish we had cafe like this near us.

This is such a lovely quaint coffee shop with the most friendly staff, the food is really delicious and we highly recommend it.
