We are on Holiday and booked at the Black Horse for Sunday lunch. The meal was excellent along with the service. We enjoyed the food and the pub a great deal and decided to book for two more mid week meals. You can tell the Chef who is also the joint owner is classically trained. The food was very well presented and extremely tasty. The portion size was just right. There is a good selection on the main menu and there is a specials board. There is a good choice of beers with guest ale's as well. The staff are friendly and attentive and the service was very good with just the right timing between courses. Great atmosphere in the pub and it's dog friendly in the bar. Pricing is very reasonable considering the quality of the food. Overall a great place to eat. Les & Ruth

Really outstanding food in a cosy country pub hotel. We had the slow roast belly pork & the monkfish, and for desert, sticky toffee pudding and treacle tart & custard. A pretty country pup in a peaceful village with plenty of country walks. Dog friendly, which I appreciate even if I no longer have a dog. We had a room up an external metal stair which leads direct from the beer garden. Awesome. But they did have ground floor rooms too. Good choice of ales too. Definitely a place I will want to go back to. Super friendly staff gave us hot tips on the best walks and wonderful service throughout

Very pleasant room, very clean, comfy bed, bathroom good apart from the automatic light and fan that comes on when one enters, irritating if one gets up in the night to pee, would be good if one could switch the auto off, but that's the only gripe, owners lovely, nothing was too much trouble, food good, local produce, well served, great beer, in the middle of the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds, plenty of safe parking if going to Cadwell, very pleasant stay....

Great village pub for locals and visitors alike. Adam and Victoria are lovely. They’re very welcoming and accommodating. The rest of the staff (Adam, Ryan, Georgia and Izzy) provided instant service with a smile for all of our needs. They were all very personable. We stayed with another couple for four nights for a walking break. The rooms were comfortable and the pub/restaurant was excellent. The several meals we had were all excellent. And the drinks selection always includes three real ales and an excellent selection of whiskies and gins. We’re very glad we happened upon the Black Horse…we will be back!

3rd visit after having a good walk. This time with a group of 11. Pre ordered meals prior to starting the walk. On arriving for meals, excellent service and again exceptional food. Another plus is being Dog friendly.

The Black Horse provides great value accommodation, with a cooked breakfast, in clean, comfortable refurbished rooms in the Lincolnshire Wolds. The pub restaurant is excellent and well-priced - great after a long day out. Recommended!

How often do you get a call from a place you're staying checking when you'll arrive so they can hold the kitchen open for you? Pretty rarely I'd guess, but that's what I got here. Lovely people, excellent genuinely home prepared food with fresh ingredients, a massive room that was utterly spotless and a good large car park. Plus it's a real 10 minutes from Cadwell Park, even allowing for not really knowing the way. I'll definitely be staying again.

Lovely Sunday lunch today in an old, quirky, countryside setting. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was freshly cooked to perfection. Faultless. Met with friends and were given the time to eat, drink and natter without feeling rushed at any point. A really lovely establishment with quality food. 😍

My sister booked this restaurant as she lives in Skegness when we arrived it was very busy which is always a good sign. The food portions were very large and very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. It looks quite small but don’t be put off. Definitely give it a try.
