Bittersweet in Oldham

Great atmosphere but kinda disappointed by the watery coffees. Huge difference in between expectation and reality with the coffees.

Food was delicious! Food came so fast the full English breakfast with masla beans was to die for highly recommend this place !

The place looks quite spacious and is very quiet. The food was average some meal portions were very small. I had Shakshuka which had lots of chilli but flavourless. The chicken wings were the tiniest and not good value for money. The desi paratha was out of a frozen packet and not a freshly cooked one. The deserts were better. The staff were lovely but the food needs improvement.

Customer service was dry as if we were an inconvenience. And they also apply a service charge - for what exactly? No one comes around to take the order. They just put the food on the table, ie. what they are supposed to do anyways as restaurants are not self-service. I had to ask for a glass, straw, ice and get the sauces myself after waiting for an absurd amount of time for the food. The portion was tiny and the meat in the burger tasted raw. The sauce inside was worse: an overdose of BBQ taste, couldn't even taste the cheese. The portion of wedges wouldn't be enough for a toddler. Not worth £9. I've had better burgers for less than half the price of what I paid. The selection was canned drinks was basic, and would it have hurt them to roll the sorbet instead of smacking it inside the bowl with the skill of a two year old?

the staff are really really kind one girl had a really nice conversation with me and my friend and the food and atmosphere is also amazing! they also kindly gave us a free ice cream with toppings before we left its amazing ♥️

The only friendly member of staff there was the gentleman with the long hair. Came in with my 2 children. Had my hands full as I was holding my little one who isn't at walking age so clearly struggling. Was told where the highchairs were by the waitress who wasn't willing to help bring it to my table. Food didn't come together, dessert came before mains. I ordered the Shakshuka, I paid extra for meatballs with it - this came with a slice of toast. Absolutely shocked at the tiny portion and how basic it was! Ordered the korean burger with wedges to take out for my husband who said the wedges were still frozen. My daughter had the peri peri burger with wedges which was OK. Plus point - The waffle was nice! I'm guessing the regular food isn't up to scratch but their desserts are better. Feedback - There are better places in Oldham with better prices and customer service. I won't be going back.

Nothing to complain about at all, never leave reviews but this place deserves it, never been and the service was just great, incredibly nice staff and the food was delicious too.

Was served by Lizzy today, lovely service, very attentive, polite and professional. Food was full English, shakshuka and coffees, hot food, presentation on point and most importantly food tasted as good as it looked. Highly recommend 👌

Bought their beef wurger meal. Brilliant for desserts, absolutely horrid for anything else. Bittersweet was previously known for only doing desserts and had to expand their range of food so they could stay open! I had high expectations for this meal I ordered I work in town, I do not want anyone else to waste their money on getting food to fill their stomachs from this place. Only get the desserts from here the burger was undercooked. The burger was badly put together the things used for the burger in example. The bun, the salad Was of poor quality and personally the meat had no taste. I’ve wasted £14 and in this climate that’s a lot to spend on a meal.

We have been coming here for over a year now, From the first day we found this place, The service has been on point! The food is delicious and it’s our go to when we want to come out of the house. The staff are polite and will recommend the best flavours for the Afagato Coffee!! Great place to be and very welcoming

Warm welcome from the minute i walked in from a lady called Wasima . Customer service was amazing , she understood my order and requests . Food was amazing , can not think of a better place for a lovely brunch in Oldham . I would recommend Bittersweet any day . 5/5 star to the waitress, food and the place, very clean.

Visited this place as the reviews on Google looked amazing. We arrived for brunch and we were greeted with a very friendly member of staff. The place was about 10% full, which was great for us! This place has a good selection of breakfast/brunch options, as well as many savoury, desserts, ice cream flavours and hot/cold drink options. I eat vegetarian, vegan and halal food. this place is 100% halal. We got the Berries, Pancake Stack, Turmeric Latte, Brioche French Toast and an Iced Latte. We did have to wait long for our order, however it was well worth it. The berries pancake stack that I had Was deliciously light and airy. I could tell it was made fresh. The menu did not mention the addition of chocolate sauce on the pancakes, however I wasn’t fussed about this. It was actually a nice addition to the dish. The turmeric latte was also tasty, and made me feel nice and warm. As turmeric does not properly mix properly with liquid, there was some turmeric left at the bottom of the mug, however I didn’t mind this. Overall, we had a very positive experience at this place and I highly recommend it to friends, couples and families!

The croissant was excellent! Best I’ve had, the coffee was also brilliant. Service on point. Plus, the price is very reasonable. Give business to the locals like them!

Food and atmosphere is good but the service not so much. Ordered a milkshake and it took almost 40 mins. I have been here a few times and every time the food takes ages to come i even ordered a tub of ice cream and that took 20 mins…

Though I had delivery, the guy was very understanding when our side gate was locked and still smiled, so 5 star 🌟. Service was easy to order. On time, excellently presented in biodegradable packaging also. The desserts are outstanding 👏 👌. I can't fault this place 👍

Hosted a bridal shower here today, the communication from start to finish was incredible! Anj and Bibi were amazing! They ensured the entire event ran smoothly and catered to our every need! They went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing time! The food was 10/10. The venue was clean and customer service was great! Thank you so much once again for everything!

Had brunch there on Monday, with some friends. The food and service was great! Our server was a wearing brown hijab and made sure we were looked after throughout our stay!

Beautiful place with excellent food and friendly staff. I took my family and we tried the shakshuka breakfast, French toast with brioche, desi omelettes with arab tea and milkshakes. It was all amazing.

Lovely service and staff and good was really delicious I ordered a mezze platter and my husband ordered the honey glazed chicken and waffles with caramel milkshake,everything was made fresh and food didn’t take long to come to the table

Food was not great the chicken goujon didn’t taste fresh at all and the portions were so small it was laughable and for how small they were they took a long time to come but the customer service was good polite and friendly

Amazing establishment! Enjoyed the brunch menu here today after travelling from leeds. I had selected the ghoa and english breakfast, also with a side of pancakes. Food was great to say to say the least and the presentation was spot on. More than anything id like to mention the customer service here is flawless, very genuine and down to earth staff. Many thanks to the manager especially for introducing the menu to me as it was my first time , also for everything else. Genuine review from myself as i felt the least i could do was leave a review.

I have walked past several times and today we popped in for an early morning breakfast treat during the School holidays - WoW. Very impressed. Spotlessly clean, great service and very tasty treat. Would normally tell my daughter off for such public displays but she really appreciated the quality of the food ❤️

I came to Bitter Sweet with the Mrs for a chai latte, after a long wait the waitress accidentally knocked over some of the drink. Not a big deal I hear you cry, and it's not, but it is when your still drinking out of a cup with it still dripping in chai latte. Waitress didn't even bother to clean up her mess or hand some tissues over to clean it up. Just ignored it and continued on with her daily duties, amazing service 🙄 Definitely not recommended.

The food as just about ok, was lukewarm more than it was hot. It was relatively quiet so nothing to excuse. Other than that the atmosphere is great and the service was slow at first but picked up nicely.

Bittersweet are such an amazing and geberous business, always giving back to the community with donations of prizes to local schools and community groups. Fully deserving of the award for community impact. Well done!

First time we have ordered and will definitely order again. Went out of their way to make sure order was right. The food and drinks were fantastic, best we've had in a while. Would definitely recommend.

Went here today but felt really disappointed in the food. It took an hour for them to serve the food to us. Although I do understand we were a big family and it will difficult to serve but this really was unprofessional. The food was cold when it was served. I didn't enjoy it at all. There was only 1 waitress who was serving everyone, on her own, who I felt quiet sorry for. It's a bank holiday weekend you should have enough staff available and not save ur pennies on wages. Personally, I think if you want to come here then stick to the sweet/dessert options which are better and their speciality. The manager gave us free karak chai to compensate us.

I came after a while their food is lovely and I have never had a problem with the service but today I wasn’t happy the service was very slow.

We had a large booking for around 30 people and the place accommodated us very well - they took orders in advance and the service was very friendly. Definitely recommend for larger parties!

I was really surprised by how good the food was. The diner is presented really nicely and the food was very fresh. The only feedback I would give is that staff should be better trained to provide better customer service. The diner wasn't busy and there was ample staff present but we were largely ignored. We sat outside and I had to keep going in to ask for basics that were not provided like serviettes. I would just ask staff to check with customers if their meal is okay and if they need anything. Otherwise great place and good prices. I will be visiting again.

We googled best coffee in Dublin and Bittersweet Coffee came up. We were not disappointed. Beautiful coffee, food was amazing, you could tell everything was home made and the service was great. Highly recommend to everyone visiting!! We will be back!!!

Came here with hubby and kids. Really nicely decorated inside. Felt really rushed to put our orders in as it was coming to the end of the day. I ordered the naga burger which was really bland and not spicy at all. The wedges were spicier than the burger. The burger was small and the chicken was a bit chewy. I did have a bad belly thre next day. Also why are the burgers called Wurgers, it’s just a normal substandard burger. There’s nothing special or unique about it to give it a different name. Whoever came up with that idea needs firing ??? My husband enjoyed the all day breakfast but the yolks on the eggs weren’t runny, really nothing special. The dessert was banging. My little boys enjoyed the paratas. Would come back for dessert,

Went with friends Really friendly staff, great food and service, cant complain.

The place is decorated nicely and in a cool location but the cake we had, the lemon cheesecake, left a lot to be desired. The biscuit bottom was soggy and unpleasant while the lemon layer was okay and for almost £6 definitely not worth it! The Karak Chai was delicious but not a good portion for a large drink and everything took a long time to come to the table. Would like to return in the summer to try their ice-cream flavours but definitely not coming back for the food.

So the first time i ever went to bitter sweet the service for absolutely amazing and the food was absolutely delicious. So I decided to go again on Friday just before 1pm it was very quite i ordered a lasagne and a burger. Hot chocolate and a tea The lasagne arrived burnt i couldn't get my folk in it, so they took it back and made me another, it came to me very cold i took a bite and i coudnt even eat it. So they took it back to reheat i was waiting absolutely ages it came back bit better but still cold at that stage i had enough of waiting. my daughter had finished her burger and was eating her dessert. We had been there touching 2hours,

If there was a zero I would give them that this place was the worst place ever.. 6 of us went and they cudnt even get our order ready came out 1 by 1 so 3 was eating and w was watching them eat. I was horrible my breakfast I got a english and my egg didn't even come out they bought it out separate.. the customer service wasn't even 5 star if u want to take things off they would charge you full price and they said they can't do it im the kitchen would mess everything up.. yet they cudnt even put the egg on with the meal.. they don't put the customers first they been open nearly over 3 years yet still don't know what they doing i didn't even eat my breakfast and certainly will not be coming here ever again,,,,?

My family came in today, and my brother and I ordered a breakfast burrito. After eating it and coming home, my brother and I both felt sick to the stomach. We had a really nauseous feeling. I believe it’s because we both ate the burrito. Either it wasn’t cooked to perfection or I don’t even know what. My family were okay as they didn’t eat it but every single time I’ve had that; I’ve felt sick.

Went with my children, clean and beautiful place. Desserts was presented beautifully and tasted amazing. Kids loved it. Reasonable prices compare to many. The owner of the place is very lovely and friendly. Will definitely visit again.

Held my daughter’s bridal shower party here on a Sunday it was fabulous and flawless! The staff went above and beyond with their kind hospitality skills 👍👍👍👍
