Service was too slow. The waitress mixed the order and no one on our table really enjoyed the food. The steak was under cooked, the chicken was dry... The manager might need more experience - tip for him, when you're the venue is fully booked hire agency staff to cope with demand to avoid disappointing customers.

Yesterday we went to dinner at this restaurant with some friends, we had reserved the Christmas menu in advance, we were surprised that the service was very slow, they took an hour to bring us the tickets and then the food, it also caught our attention that inside the Christmas menu that we had reserved did not have the meat we wanted and the manager did not want to change the meat for us, he behaved in an arrogant manner, he only offered us to change and pay additionally, we found that it was a lack of respect for us as consumers, if he is offering a menu should be respected and it was not So. The quality of the food was quite bad. In my case, I ordered a dish that was duck, which I don't know if it had duck because it was like ground meat and some very bad mashed potatoes, and the other dishes that my friends ordered also didn't. They were of very good quality, including the meat that we ordered and we paid more for it, the desserts were normal, the creme brule lacked technique, the burnt sugar was cold, in general, the slow service I would not recommend this restaurant, I have been to others in other places England locations ok but this horrible experience

Went on a Friday night for Christmas staff meal. Service was unsatisfactory. Long waiting times due to a mix up, we booked at 7:15pm and only had our mains at 9:30pm. Extremely late. Food when it did come was nice, they definitely rushed the creme brulee as it did not have the caramelised top. Been here before and service had been good, hopefully this was just a one off.

Went tonight with high expectations given the reviews but really really poor experience. Arrived for our booking at 7:45pm and only 5 customers in the restaurant. Empty glasses everywhere. Table not ready - felt like they were actually closing up. Waiter confused we even had booking.... Sat down and ordered and then food took ages to arrived. Only one member of staff it seems doing front of house, waiting and maybe even the chef! Waiter kept forgetting everything we ordered. Understaffed. Food quality was anything but french...Wharburtons crumpet for the rarebit - very amateruish presentation. Bread rubbish. Frozen carboard tasking burger with bad bread bun. Very odd cat food texture xmas pudding which was frozen again and fairly inedible. £76 for one of the worst meals we've had in years. I think clearly the restaurant is understaffed and not prepared to properly host customers on a Sunday evening - so maybe in the future you should just leave it closed. AVOID!!!

I booked a table for 7:30 PM, but the experience was disappointing from the start. We had to wait around 10 minutes just to be seated, and after that, no staff came to take our order. When we asked for assistance, the staff member told us to wait for their colleague, but no one showed up even after 20 minutes. Meanwhile, the same staff member kept walking around and setting tables instead of helping us. Eventually, the same person returned to take our order and inform us that the food would take more than 30 minutes to arrive. The lack of organization and attentiveness made the entire experience very frustrating.

Booked an early table for 5.45pm as attending a performance at the Symphony Hall. This restaurant was so well placed for that venue. We were warmly welcomed and a drinks order taken promptly. We chose from a limited number of dishes for a set price. We had a main and desert. Beautifully cooked chicken Diane and my friend much enjoyed the pork medallions. We both chose panna cotta with red berries for desert. Friendly efficient service. Really excellent food. There was also an a la cart option which I’m sure would have been lovely but we didn’t really have time to do it justice. We had in total 3 glasses of pink Prosecco and 1 x 250ml glass of white wine. The total including service was £77. That was really excellent value for a delicious meal. High recommended.

After sitting at our table for 15 mins had to ask waitress if she could come and take our order for drinks. She came and took our order and we also gave our food order. After 45 minutes I approached the waitress and asked her how long was our food likely to be as my blood sugar level was falling {diabetic} She told me it was ready. I asked if she could get me a sugary coke and explained the situation. It never arrived so my friend went and got a coke himself. After repeatedly being told our food was ready it finally arrived 1 hour 15mins after ordering. It would have been helpful on arrival to have been told that they were experiencing difficulties and that there would be long waiting times for food orders I could have taken earlier action and firstly ordered a sugary drink and not a diet one. The food was not worth waiting this length of time for, will not be visiting this restaurant again and suggest they inform customers if they are experiencing problems as customers arrive.

Flavoursome ,delicate and in portions that are enough to more than satisfy you. Try the set menu. Being a codger the trip to the loo wasn't the best as its downstairs which is difficult for me with the only one upstairs having no lock on it so that knocked a mark off but overall it was too nice an experience to give a negative impression. The prices are appealing too. Its nice to get tasty food that gives you an urge to dip fingers in the sauce after the bread has run out!! This is totally a complaint. Came in with friends to celebrate our wedding day. Had drinks, deserts and a cheese board. It came with 3 cheese and 2 of the smallest and thinest piece of bread. We’ve asked the person in charge of us to bring more bread and we were advised it would need to be ordered on the side… which we assumed additional charges and agreed. After around 30mn of wait we’ve received additional 2 thin pcs of bread and we said it wouldn’t be enough… so we were advised that we would need a loaf of bread which once again we agreed to receive. After another 30mn of wait we got the hot loaf of bread from a very miserable person for some raison… came the time of the bill and we were surprised to see that we were charged additional 0.50 for extra « croute » which is what they refer to the pcs of bread… on a bill of £95.40! They obviously did not forget to charge us full price for tips which we were not happy to pay following a very unpleasant service.. this could be such a nice place but won’t grow if the service continues this way.

Potential to be a world beating restaurant. Amazing location just off Broad street overlooking the canal. Nice atmosphere, high end feel. Let down by service and one Sirloin steak Went for my Birthday this afternoon with my parents and they had great food. I had Gamabas for starter and it was delicious. I ordered Sirloin Steak for my main (medium rare) as recommended on the menu. My mother order Rump and it arrived piping hot with a nice sear on the steak, she loved it. Mine however was cold initially and a little grey. The butter was stone cold which sits on top and may have added to the loss of heat so quickly but the inside was pretty cold when I took my first bite also, so maybe not. Inform the wait staff and they were apologetic and brought me the steak back out 2 or 3 minutes later. Same steak, this time it was warm instead of cold, but not hot. Ate a bite and then decided to just eat my fries and move on to dessert. Didn't want to kick up too much of a fuss because I'm out to enjoy myself and relax and I am ultimately, the customer. It's up to the staff to check in on the table and notice that I'm sitting with an uneaten steak on my plate. Had Sticky Toffee Madeleine for dessert and this was also delicious. The steak was removed from the bill. I noticed when I checked the bill. Non of the staff said anything about it being removed, I just noticed as we were paying. Made me feel as if I was not in their good books to be honest. Hope there is no resentment towards me I was polite about everything. But I am not going to settle for a cold steak at £23.95 when I can buy the same cut for a fiver at Tesco and cook it myself to a better standard. As I said my parents enjoyed everything and I tried my dad's chicken and mom's rump and was great. Would have been nice to have been offered an alternative that I would have happily paid for. Unfortunately the opportunity didn't arise because nobody attended to the table even though they were aware of an issue with the steak because it was removed from the bill without me asking. Not one to complain and this is genuine feedback that hopefully you can learn from, or you can play the blame the customer game amongst yourselves and never hit that high end level that your location and atmosphere deserves. Happy birthday to me Cheers

I've just enjoyed a lovely afternoon at Bistro Pierre, Birmingham, catching up with friends from all over the midlands. The set menu is really good value for money. The only aspect that marred our afternoon was one of the servers. He had a totally disinterested and surly demeanour as if taking our order was beneath him. It was pretty unanimous around the table as we all exchanged looks suggesting "Is it me?" Please somebody have a word with him. If he doesn't want to be there then go or give him a job away from paying customers. I've worked in the hospitality industry and it is such an important aspect of the job to make customers feel welcomed and he was the only negative part of an otherwise lovely afternoon.

Used to love this restaurant in Kidderminster but there is a reason why it’s empty on a Sunday lunchtime, 2pm (11 Covers) the food was so poor, family meal for four. French onion soup served cold, I mean how hard is it too warm soup up, no cheese crusted top just a hard bit of bread, send back obviously popped into the microwave and sent back in the same bowl and plate with spillage marks all down the side. Sirloin of beef replaced with topside of beef, the beef was tough and inedible. Stale Yorkshire puddings all around, I could have taken Jackie chan out with these weapons. Roast potato’s sloppy and flavourless, in fact everything needed seasoning. Deserts served apart from the lemon tart, I actually thought they had forgotten it only to be half 5 minutes later they had none available by this point the rest of the family had almost finished theirs. Creme Brûlée decent to be fair but needs a biscotti or something similar or even a bit fruit as served as it is. £131 later which included a £12 service charge. Really disappointed. We won’t be returning like the rest of Kidderminster it seems.

I went there with friends on a Saturday. The service was great. The decorations are simple and giving French bistrot vibe. As for the food, Bistrot Pierre is a chain of restaurants. Tajine, hummus? Not so French but I imagine they try to accommodate all tastes. My main was steak frite, it was good but it is just not French and the meat for some of us was a bit dry. Knowing most of their menu is meaty, that’s not a good thing. We are all French/ Belgian and we all thought this place was not up to French food standards. Overall it is a nice place but I wouldn’t say it’s French.

It was a bit quiet in respect of customers, the heavy rain didn’t help I guess. I ordered a steak, medium rare. When it arrived it was served with fries, a small portion of salad and peppercorn sauce. The steak was very enjoyable, the peppercorn sauce was good. Fries were ok, I think steak chips would be the better option in future. Overall, not mega expensive and a pleasant experience. The service I received from both members of staff (male and female) was very friendly and if I do find the property I’m looking for in Kidderminster, I would certainly go back.

We supposed that nothing these days is as it was but having visited this place for lunch they were only four tables taken and perhaps it shows why The food was ok we suppose however the mushroom starter was wet soggy and chewy The steak and pork were delivered reasonably presented and more or less acceptable Wines are pretty expensive and the so-called app is useless unless you happen to go twice a week which would be a surprise Looks like another one going downhill which is a pity as there are very few places in the now run down Kidderminster to eat reasonably Other branches of the same chain seem to do better There have been comments about the staff and we would endorse the fact that they are the most useless pair we have ever come across Travel out of town to eat next time

One of the first places I went to in the UK and one of the creamiest desserts I tried. Definitely recommend it. The coffee was also tasty in this combo, the view from the outdoor terrace is nice and I suggest you to try it on a sunny day.

Would not recommend for breakfast. We were seated at a table, asked if we wanted to order drinks which we did. Our drinks took over 20mins to arrive. There were only 4 other tables in the restaurant. We ordered our breakfasts, to be told they had no sausages for a breakfast. This should have been said when we were seated. I opted for the veggie breakfast instead, my partner had the standard breakfast, he was offered extra bacon or eggs in exchange for not having sausages. After ordering our drinks finally arrived. We then waited 30mins for our breakfasts to arrive. The standard breakfast looked dry and was over cooked. The veggie breakfast was abysmal. Poached eggs were very under cooked, I was given bread and not toast with no butter. The avocado was brown and I also found egg shell in my food. The new potatoes were barely cooked. We did complain, I was offered another breakfast to which I refused. The veggie breakfast and my drink were taken off our bill. When we asked for the bill, we then waited another 15mins for the bill to arrive. At this point there were only 3 other tables including us in the restaurant. Customer service could be improved also.

Mothers day meal very disappointing. Ran out of chicken and roast beef was more like cheap minute steak and so over done hard to cut into, beef bourginion was fatty and also chewy. We had one meal taken off the bill as it was inedible but when bill arrived the £60 deposit had not been taken off and was then told they only received £30! Luckily we had email to confirm that full deposit had been received. The service was really slow although the waiter was really nice. There was also a £19 service charge added which was not mentioned. Very sorry but won't be back.

My husband and I were late to our reservation but Bristol Pierre happily accommodated us. We both had the calamari, sea bass fillet and crème brûlée. The meals were delicious, filling and full of flavour. The lovely gentlemen that served us were very friendly and the atmosphere was intimate. We’d definitely recommend this restaurant and we’ll be visiting again.

Dined here with four family members on 10.03.2024 on Mother’s Day evening (a Sunday) and had a very disappointing overall experience. Despite booking a table for 6:30pm, we were told to wait in the bar and weren’t seated until 10 minutes after. We presumed this was just because they were busy but once we were finally led to our table, we were taken to a completely empty room with no other diners despite there being four/five tables other tables. The room had no atmosphere and felt cold. Thankfully, a couple of other parties arrived after us. We ordered drinks and my pint of Mahou was room temperature at best and pretty uninspiring. The starters were good, and my chicken liver parfait was tasty and a decent size. Likewise, the chocolate mousse dessert was good and well presented. However, what really let the food side of the meal down was the beef bourguignon, which four out of five of our party ordered. Thinking it was a French restaurant, we thought this would be a safe bet. How wrong we were. The mash potato had the texture of something that had been microwaved and the beef was sadly lacking (as you can see from my photo) — three small chunks and it was definitely not slow cooked like bourguignon should be. It was tough, fatty and not like any I have ever tasted. All four of us who ordered the same, reported the same feedback so it was hugely disappointing. I then heard the waiter ask the table next to us how their meal was, to which one of the ladies responded “hmm, very gristly beef” so I’m going to presume they had ordered the same. On to the staff, it was a dark haired slim chap serving us and to say he was rude and disinterested would be an understatement. At one point, my partner went searching for the toilet and asked him where she could find them, and his response was extremely surly. Every time he delivered a plate, it was practically thrown at us and he made no attempt to engage other than handing us our food or taking our orders. When we asked to take the service charge off our bill at the end and explained why, there was no apology, no reaction, nothing. He clearly didn’t want to be there and it rubbed off on his diners, who didn’t want to be there either. When you are paying those kind of prices, you expect better quality of food and the decency of a friendly server. Unfortunately we didn’t get that tonight at Bistro Pierre, Birmingham. Far better French restaurants around.

It was busy. It was Mother’s Day. Having said that waiting half an hour to get some water and order drinks was not good. Then an hour to receive the starter and a further 30-45 minutes for the main course. The food was poor. Food sent back as it was cold. Other meals overcooked with even mushrooms that were hard to cut! Even a large profiterole was hard on the outside, a sign of being in the kitchen for a long time. We didn’t pay the service charge but the truth is they didn’t have the kitchen staff or serving staff for the day. The only way we could make this clear was not to pay the service charge. The food was really awful. We will not return

French food slightly lacking in flavour. The service was quite brusque and they felt rushed (it took a few goes to get the bill for example). Had the prawn starter, which was generous in its portion and tasted good, and the confit duck, which was cooked well, but lacked the incredible flavour of confiture duck I expected. The food was OK and the portion sizes were good, but there are better independent places for French food at a similar price.

Dropped in for a birthday treat dinner with my wife. Staff were helpful and friendly. The issue for us is a number of choices we made were unavailable. The food was mediocre, nothing wrong with it but not special. A wrong desert was served, lemon sorbet ordered but plant based vanilla ice cream arrived to the table, this gave us a smile and joke about the sorbet also being unavailable, was a simple human error and no problem, quickly corrected, though the sorbet was not great, no fresh lemon zing. I had a main of boeuf bourguignon which was ok but not as good as from my local pub for £10.95. Perhaps my expectations are too high. Again, the staff were great, I didn’t resent the automatic gratuity but did the cost of the food for what it was. Won’t bother going back.

Staff were helpful and service was good but food was disappointing, me and my partner had steaks which had more fat than edible meat on them and the fat ran through the middle of the steaks so we're not completely edible. So if your someone like me who is a picky eater with textures I don't recommend the steaks however everything else was lovely.

What a disspaointment, the waiters both female lady and gent both were awful at thier jobs and not very observant, having being sat down at approx 7pm we were left to peruse the menu, some 20 mims later the male waiter asked if we wanted to order drinks, we did with a bowl of olives, the olives arrived but no drinks, some 15mins later the male waiter came over and said they have lost our drink order somehow and so we ordered again, a further 10mins passed we then finally got drinks, then after another 20 mins he came over to ask for our order, by this time having already waited some time and seeing the people on the table infront having been served both drink and food some 30mins after we arrived we were just hungry so ordered 2 mains, then we waited and waited and waited again watching other people having come in after us having drinks and mains we could not wait any longer another 30mins passed, my partner said just ask for the bill for the drinks and lets go, so we wasted an hour and a half. having then spoke with the waiter he just looked at me, i asked why we had waited so long, no answer just a blank look on his face, we were told we disnt have to settle the bill and so left. im sure the food is great as this place as was recommeded by family saying how amazing the dishes were sadly we never had oppotunity to try, and so a belated valatine celabration suprise ruined by, and i choose my words carefully and accuratley having eaten out at many resturants, the worst example of poor observational, and badly trained front of house staff i have encountered, lacks, un attending and clealy not meant for the hospitality sector. I hope the manager reads this and takes action.

Went on Valentine’s Day, mid afternoon, no booking required. The welcome was really warm and extremely professional. Being a french chef, I was delighted About the standard of the food! It was fresh, well seasoned and delightful! Had a bottle of picpoul de pinet, really good and good value for money. All staff, where exceptional! Our waitress was second to none. Met the head chef too. Absolutely, a beautiful time! Will be back and will recommend to all!!

Although it appears to be a chain (we were there in Swansea-Wales last summer), you can also eat very well here and the prices are acceptable for today's times!!! The restaurant or restaurants that we have visited so far are located on the water and have a very nice atmosphere!!!! Always my pleasure !!!

Went for a lovely meal this afternoon with family after organising a Christmas works meal before Christmas that was equally enjoyable. Prompt and unfussy service with simple but beautifully crafted French cuisine. Ate at the restaurant again today (7/2/24) with work colleagues for lunch. Great service despite being late for the booking. Varied menu with good veggie options and excellent front of house. Checked for allergies with guests before everyone ordered. Good safe practice.
