No sé qué pasaba.

The lunch time my companion and I visited, would have made a good basis for a comedy sit com., my friend ordered a sparkling water and received from the very attractive waitress a lemonade which was pointed out to her, the poor girl then returned with a soda water which she insisted was the same as sparkling water,

Small bar/restaurant of Eccleston Hotel, with nice modern decoration but fairly packed space. I do hot know how is the dinner or lunch there but breakfast is clearly their weak point, assuming you will succeed in communicating your order to nice waitress for whom English is her second or third language (given that 'say again' is the most heard sentence in the small breakfast room, it looks like it wasn't only my problem). The selection is small but more importently the kitchen is not able to deliver even the simplest order of eggs & soldiers - i do not know if the egg is precooked and reheated (most likely) or cooked in micro oven, but it is served uneatable and, strangely, that doesn't seem to bother the staff.

Ottimi i cocktail. Per due sere ci siamo sentiti coccolati.. è valsa la pena di spendere un po' di più!

The service was impeccable, the chef was very happy to alter a dish even from the set menu due to my food intolerances, the decor and ambiance were very pleasant (comfortable seating, spaced apart, lovely light music in the backdrop, nicely decorated), and, the food was absolutely delicious! Truly a gem. of a place.

This restaurant is one I found a couple of years ago, and tried to keep it a secret so that I could always get a table. Too bad the secret is out. This is a fabulous place for the most incredible home made burgers and truffled chips. The starters are all made with care, and quite delicious. I have never had a bad meal at this place, and their extensive wine list is always a treat. Though the service can sometimes be slow, it forces you to just relax and enjoy the quietness. I have made use of their function/business meeting room in the past, and will do so again. Bakary is the super-friendly guy who usually serves us, but today Marco served us, and we weren't disappointed. Good food, good prices, elegant and classy. I love it.

The restaurant provides a warm feel as it is small with friendly staff. It always provides you with a seat no matter what time of day it is. The club sandwich is by far the best I have had in my years travelling around the world. Our order was prepared very quickly. Out of all the places in the area I would recommend eating here as you feel like you are at home. great food, great service I will definitely be going there again when I visit the area.

We found this restaurant by accident when finding a place to eat before going to see Billy Elliott. We had the set menu. We planned on having 3 courses but could only manage 2. Food was presented very well and tasted lovely. Service was good. The only very minor complaint would be that we did feel you we're sitting in the hotel lobby, but everything else wes so good this con be over looked. You must go it you get the chance. Also cocktails, which were great are half price from 6 to 8.

Bistro is a modern, elegant restaurant with a simple and clean menu offering a small range of French and British inspired food. The business basics are present (burger, salads) with a few twists (French steak cottage pie) to make the interesting. Service is efficient and friendly.Tables can be small, excellent for one and cosy for two. The rear room has better tables for groups but an enormous TV that can be distracting. Drinks are reasonably priced for London, the cocktail hour makes it better value, and the bar staff friendly. A good choice for decent food local to Victoria that's not a large brand or chain.

Modern French/English fusion restaurant in a georgian style townhouse. Inside the restaurant is decorated in a minimalist fashion which is modern clean and comfortable. Huge screen at end of dining room is a bit disconcerting at first but did allow us to view a youtube video of one of our party! Food is well cooked and good quality and very reasonably priced for London. Staff are very helpful and were happy to serve us even though we arrived late in the evening. Would definitely go again.

Not your average hotel restaurant - the food is divine, while the prices are considerably low. I had the traditional jamon croquettes for starter, french style cottage pie and chocolate fondant for desert! I can go so far as to say it was the best chocolate fondant i have ever had! Strongly recommend to check out this restaurant if you are visiting London for delicious, yet affordable french food!

Similar comments to others on the board. The food was terrific and rather reasonably priced given it's a three-course meal. For a Friday night it was rather empty, but lots of staff milling around. They were nice and attentive, but the decor and furniture were rather tacky. Overall, a bit of a sad place for a night out, but terrific food. Also, it looks like the brunch is pretty expensive. I see them putting the sandwich board out every day hoping to attract customers, but at £22pp it's probably way too steep!

a friend and i enjoyed a wonderful birthday meal at this off the beaten track bistrot within the ecclestone square hotel. all the staff were charming and helpful. the food was beautifully presented and delicious and we had asparagus with egg and truffle oil dressing and then seared tuna done to perfection with a wasabi mayonnaise and japanese vegetables. the dessert i had was refreshing and light and was pineapple carpaccio with coconut sorbet with mango and chili salsa. we had a lovely evening, only criticism was that chairs are a bit low for tables but other than than ambience was pleasant and intimate. i would like to stay there!

What a great little spot. The jerusalem artichoke veloute is dreamy. The cheeseburger is better than any "gourmet" burger joint I have been to. The steak was the tastiest I have had in a long time, with homemade tomato sauce for the crispy chips, and bearnaise sauce for the steak. The service is friendly, helpful and efficient. The decor is smart and modern, and very comfortable. I cant fault this place at all. Its a bargain and its a treat all in one.

How could this hotel win European Hospitality award when the Kitchen can't even prepare a simple brunch - not once but twice? We decided to try their All American Brunch yesterday. We arrived at approx 11.45 to an empty restaurant. On taking the order the new waiter was unsure of the details of the menu and had to check with the kitchen - OK not a major problem. The cappuccinos were not hot, the milk was not frothed very well and the cup was 3/4 full. We then sat waiting for the food for nearly 45 minutes. The anticipation grew with every minute that past, I can't express our disappointment. Firstly the All American Brunch - we requested poached eggs and got over cooked fried eggs, and everything was luke warm including the toast. The waiter said it would be redone. 15 minutes later the new Brunch arrived - mushroom (not a large field one like on the original breakfast) was totally raw, poached eggs hard and worse still the bacon and sausages not cooked properly. The scrambled eggs didn't come with spring onions as stated and were served with a burnt dry muffin instead of granary toast. The extra portion of hash browns for £3.50 arrived after we had finished and turned out to be one hash brown the size of a flattened golf ball. The hamburger was the only decent dish of the whole experience.Maybe the European Hospitality Award didn't include looking at the restaurant. The Manager (akka the new waiter) took our details and said the management would call us - well we are still waiting for the call. Good luck if you go here for brunch - you will leave, like us, hungry.

I went with my wife on Travel Zoo offer. The restaurant was a bit like a big through lounge but with good decor. They provided excellent food and service. The venison main course was devine. My wife's soft shell crab tempera was excellent and my scallop/pork was good but the scallop was a bit small. Desert were good. Good value for money with the offer. I would recommend it.

We had a Travelzoo deal (£25 each for 3 courses and 1 cocktail - I thought the price was about right for what we had). Food was superb (we had starters of soft shell crab and scallops with pork belly, mains were venison and sea bass - with twice cooked chips - and desserts were choc fondant and rum baba). Excellent presentation, all cooked perfectly, portion sizes generous and tasted fantastic. A real treat. Cocktails were limited at a choice of 4. We had a Vodka Martini and an Americano (menu didn't say what was in the Americano - turned out to be lots of bitter Campari!) and we had a bottle of red wine to share. The downsides - it's cold looking, all grey, white and black (it needs some colour), strange layout with restaurant split into two parts and you can't sit at the bar in the middle for drinks, it's near the front door so you have a cold breeze when it opens, no relaxing background music (it was really quiet at times which was a bit uncomfortable with no atmosphere), chairs are like armchairs - we sank down in them and the table was then a bit too high up to eat at, plus the chair legs were same width as table legs so you couldn't slide your chair under the table, waiters were lovely and friendly but service was a bit slow with lengthy waits between courses, got a cloakroom ticket for our coats but when were we leaving they didn't have a clue which coat belonged to which ticket - I had to go in the cloakroom myself and find our coats. So overall, a superb meal and drinks but they need to make a few changes to make it perfect.

The staff were very welcoming with big smiles. I went with 3 girlfriends and we had a great time, helped by the fact that we'd got a good deal. The chairs were lovely and comfy and although I don't think we were in the nicest part of the restaurant it didn't matter. We all loved our food. The venison was particularly good and the twice cooked chips. The cocktails were yummy too.

Visited this restaurant having read about the hotel. On first impressions, the area is beautiful and the building is very grand and clearly finished to a very high standard. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. There is a lot to say about this place and this was a very unique experience, although I’m not sure this was for the right reasons. We didn’t hate it and left with smiles on our faces and I would actually be interested in a return visit to see how it develops in the coming months as it does have potential. The décor appeared to be unfinished. The walls were, in my opinion, plain to the point of being bland as opposed to minimal and lamps that did not appear to be in use were randomly placed around the room. The wine cooler looked completely out of place and didn’t work as what was probably intended as a cool showpiece. The ceiling was unsightly and consisted of various electrical devices, looking more like what one would expect to see in an office block. The whole concept of James Bond themed cocktails is cheesy at best and as far as I could tell the cocktail list was the only reference to James Bond anywhere. The cocktails themselves were nice but I felt the James Bond references unnecessarily cheapened the experience. The quality of the food was actually pretty good, although there definitely appears to be an identity crisis going on at this restaurant. Is this supposed to be an English gentlemans 007 themed bar or a French bistro, or something different? Italian ham, pasta and Moroccan lamb, although I’m sure they are delicious, they are not what I’d expect to see in a French bistro. And no sign of any French style steak, at least when I visited, but maybe this will change. The layout of the restaurant is unusual although the space is limited. I wonder if they would have been better off making the back room into a bar/snug area and extending the front restaurant room into the middle. The giant 3D screen seems out of place with restaurant tables up against it. The atmosphere didn’t seem to work. I’m not sure what it was, probably the division of the seating areas into two parts. It felt too silent at times, no buzz, perhaps some music could help. The rest rooms are in the basement area, which was unfinished, although this is understandable for a newly opened establishment. A noticeable design flaw was that the flush mechanism is finished in shiny chrome which means that it gets covered in finger prints, making it appear dirty. A bottle of Carex handwash sat by the sink and there was a tray for hand towels, but without any towels in it. Instead there was a box of tissues. Hopefully these are just teething issues. As I mentioned earlier, the staff themselves were very nice, friendly and keen to please. But in a restaurant placing itself at this price point and selling itself as something cool, there is a distinct lack of sophistication. For example, the wine glasses were constantly over-filled, at one point between courses the cutlery was set the wrong way around (knife on the left and fork on the right), and as soon as I finished my main course my plate was enthusiastically removed immediately as if to demonstrate some form of super efficiency, but all this did was make my colleague (who was only halfway through his meal) feel uncomfortable and rushed. I felt embarrassed at the situation and was surprised at how amateurish it was.Does this sound like the sort of place James Bond would go to? I don’t think so – not at the moment anyway. I don’t want to sound too harsh and am trying to be constructive because a) this is a new establishment and will undoubtedly still be in an experimental stage b) the food was good, yet priced accordingly c) the staff were genuinely very warm and nice.To conclude, there is definitely some thinking required here with regards to identity (less of a scattergun approach, don’t overcomplicate and more focus on one or two things that work well) and the current layout needs some serious consideration. I’ve been to other boutique hotels operating under the Red Carnation Hotel Group in the past and I’ve found the knowledge and sophistication of the staff to be absolute top class – this place could do with looking at how those guys operate.

We got a deal through Travel Zoo. 3 courses and a cocktail for £25 each. This was a fair price for what we got. We would have been disappointed if we'd paid the full menu price. The food was ok but the portions were a little small. The service, despite what other reviewers may have said, was good. The restaurant is just inside the hotel's main entrance. They insisted on leaving the door open so it was pretty cold as it got later into the evening.

Was looking forward to this hotel, 'bistro' opening. What a huge disapointment. Amateur , non-english speaking staff. Strip yellow lighting, no bar to sit in, only restaurant tables which are beyond tacky beside a tv screen the size of the entire wall showing sport. There were numerous staff doing nothing as filthy plates piled up on the bar top. One staff member, a female, sat on the phone to her father complaining the place was empty. She loudly discussed interviewing staff the next morning, then bragged about what an amazing PR job she was doing for this over-priced building site. Her lack of understanding said itvall. We were charged an astonishing £24 for two gin&tonics that took 10 mins to arrive. Nobody at reception, masking tape surrounding everything.

The menu was RADICALLY different to the one that was advertised, ie, scallops and steak were two of the highlights on the menu published on Eccleston's website on 12/08 but by 19/08 the menu had changed to vegetable-based starters, cottage pie, pasta, and no sign of any of the tempting delights originally mentioned. Only 2 cocktails were on offer because 'there was a delay in delivery of some furniture', and the barman had to be told how to make one of them. The basement where the customer toilets were was a complete building site, and the barman and manager both told us that the hotel was not really ready to open on time, that things had 'gone wrong' including a problem with the chef, and that their marketing team had been 'overly optimistic' about what food they could produce. Which explains the massive change in menu. The food we did get was fine, not worth the money, and for the shocking difference in menu size and variety it wasn't worth the trip. The manager did nothing to make us feel better, just repeated the mantra 'i'm sorry, there's nothing I can do for you.'

I used to love this place, but haven't been for nearly 10 years. I'm glad to see it hasn't changed too much, but with the downside that it is now apparently owned by BrewDog. Luckily, it appears they let them continue without having to follow the "taproom by numbers" you get out of most BrewDog bars, so not only does it have it's own look, but there is a much more interesting selection of beers. It was easy enough to get a seat on a Saturday afternoon, which is always a bonus in a decent location like this.
