Bistau in Perth & Kinross

Fantastic food with a very welcoming atmosphere! The host (who was serving and doing all the cooking that day) could not have been more lovely and helpful. Such good value for money for impeccable quality. The business is suffering because of the works going on outside so not much through traffic but I urge everyone to go out their way to try this place out. Well worth it and a highlight of our trip to Perth!

We visited Bistua on recommendations and I cannot tell you how disappointed we were. Table of 7 for my birthday which we arrived at 6:30pm. We arrived to a cardboard sign saying cash only, the table was pre-booked and we were not notified of this. We sat for almost an hour before giving our food orders (not our choice). We then did not receive any food for another hour, 2 and a half hours for tapas is an utter joke. We asked for complimentary bread or olives which never arrived, two of our party did not receive any food until after 9pm, not great when you’re meant to be on a night out! Some dishes did not arrive before we had to cancel as this was now ruining our night. On top of all of this we could clearly hear the chef shouting and swearing at the only waitress in the place- apparently it was a busy night, although there were only two other tables of people in an empty resteraunt. The food was bland and an insult to Spain, overcooked prawns, croquettas that tasted like an oven packaged food. I’d go on but every dish was the same. We then proceeded to complain which the waitress was lovely and absolutely took on board what we said. An extremely rude waiter however, who only ever appeared flustered and throwing dishes down, also walking behind the bar swearing and hitting his head at times decided to say to us we should really remember what we ordered. That was the icing on the cake to this night!! I will be sure to pass the word on to all friends and family to avoid your resteraunt, and I hope that poor waitress hands her notice in ASAP, nobody should be spoken to like that!!

Amazing food !! My mum absolutely loved it for Mother’s Day! My sister and myself are both vegetarians and there were great options available for us too! Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Perth

We always enjoy the tapas at Bistua. The food is really well cooked and varied particularly the seafood dishes such as the baby squid and smoked tuna. The favada is delicious. The wine was good but the wine list is not extensive.

We used the delivery service as that was offers. Food was over an hour late and was very bland. Driver decided the best way forward was to blame someone else rather than apologise on behalf of the overall service. Don’t bother. We won’t be ordering again.

After a long day and fancying something different to the usual Indian or Chinese takeaway, my wife saw this on Just Eat. We chose the romantica option for two.I was dubious as £30 is more than we than we would normally pay for a takeaway, but I soon changed my tune. The portions were very generous, and beautifully cooked. Our choices were the marinated mixed olives, Spanish meatballs,chickpeas and chorizo and spicy chicken skewers. With four good sized skewers of tender chicken and the other dishes, we had enough to have some the next day. The service was efficient, the driver very friendly and cautious to maintain appropriate hygiene. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely return. Do give them a try, you will be glad you did.
