Big Red Tent Vinyl Cafe in Kensington and Chelsea

This place has a very low hygiene rating - Environmental Health’s website says Major Improvement Necessary (please see my screenshot from their site). Be careful!

came aross today after living three years in the area how ive missed it up to now ,i dont know this really is a great place with food and service to match they have a very simple menu but with all the ususal stuff i like english breakfast,eggs benedict and home made burgers etc its a mixture of round tables with comfy chairs for drinks,coffee etc and then tables in between for dining they do half portions of most items so i had a half of an english breakfast for 6 pound still a full english but half they have a dj playings records and you can also buy vinyl records here i quite surprised how attitude free the staff were and just the right level of attitude for me.very friendly.will definitely be back now that i have found it also caters for vegans and vegetarians

Me and my partner came here after browsing through Portobello Market and weren’t disappointed with our experience. We both ordered the burger which was delicious and perfectly cooked! Service was slow but we could tell they were understaffed that day and the food was well worth the wait! The waiters were friendly and polite. Really enjoyable, would come again!

Had a great meal with the wife and kids vegan food especially the banana bread was great! Burgers are the best my sons ever had and pointed out he wants to come back great vibe great staff and a good chef all in all 5 out of 5 Good stuff!!

Tras el agobio del mercado de Portobello en un sábado por la mañana entramos mi familia y yo para comer algo, nuestra sorpresa fue encontrar un sitio agradable, con buena comida y una música simplemente espectacular. El trato fue muy amable y cercano, la hamburguesa buenísima y el Dj..... muy bueno!

Si vous vous fiez au menu : attention ! Plein de petits suppléments à payer tels que les petites sauces, le service... Le prix de l'eau est exorbitant. Bref derrière les vinyles rétros et sympathiques se cache l'attrape touristes. À éviter

My partner and I stopped for breakfast today after picking the first place we saw on arriving to portobello road. We weren’t disappointed! I had one of the best veggie breakfasts ever, with lovely al dente asparagus and spinach, and my partner thoroughly enjoyed his meaty version. Both were good value for money. Friendly and attentative front of house staff, and the owner, Jake, made sure to look after us. Great spot for a fun and tasty breakfast with music to get you in the mood for a good day.

We visited here for brunch, our experience involved waiting 50 minutes for 2 simple breakfasts to come when the cafe was completely empty, when the food finally arrived the orders were wrong. Due to the long wait we were offered 2 free coffees which we in the end were charged for on the bill. On top of this the place was filthy with very poor hygiene standards. There are a lot of great places to eat in Notting hill so please avoid this place and choose somewhere else!

Cool little cafe with good vibes and great prices for the location. Very chilled staff and atmosphere; I can imagine it gets crowded in the summer. Recommend for a slow pit stop.

We wandered in to have a quick coffee, but were drawn in by the music playing and the good vibes. Our coffee turned into a two hour lunch. It was a pleasant and comfortable place to enjoy some food and watch the lively and unique neighborhood out the window. And the food is was surprisingly delicious!! I had a fresh smoked salmon with smashed avocado on sourdough and my friend went for a traditional British bangers and mash. It felt like a homemade meal at a friend’s house and we wiped our plates clean! Finished up with lattes and a lovely chocolate cake. We’ll definitely be returning!!

A rainy cold day in London and got of bus to look for something to eat. Ended up in Portabello Road Market Lots of places to eat but mostly outside. So found this cafe by chance. Looked through the window. Looked busy so walked on couldn't find anywhere so took chance at the Viny cafe. Walked received a good welcome. Ordered a coffee and politely asked if they did anything Gluten free. They explained that they had lots of GF things so ordered a delicious GF croissant. Well pleased and this cafe is a real gem.

I was amazed when my daughter in law rang me and asked me to meet here here, such a tiny place that I wouldn’t have looked at twice, how wrong I would have been!! My daughter in law had already eaten a gluten free croissant and had no after affects, so I tried one myself, they had plain and pistachio, I took the flavoured one along with a lovely black coffee, what a treat! I was told also that they are made fresh each day, I am coeliac and can confirm there was no adverse reaction to the pastry. It was so nice I bough some for tomorrows breakfast. Prices are also really good, plain croissant to take away just £1.50 The staff are super helpful and the place itself is tiny and interesting with records to listen to and designer clothes for sale. It is well worth a visit. By the way all the pastries in the cabinet are also gluten free so no possibility of cross contamination! Great discovery. We will be back. The only downside is that the place looks a little shabby and in need of a lick of paint.

Had a nice lunch date with friends here..Jerk chicken was recommended and it was lovely with salad. Price is really reasonable and music played was really cool.Will visit again in this cafe.

Great snacky food, and vinyl all around. I've had quite a few meals here and always enjoy it. Nice cosy atmosphere, very relaxed, and great tunes.

Went there for a latte and a macaron and although the staff was very sweet (nice french kid!) the macarons tasted old and frozen. It doesn't look very clean overall and I left slightly disgusted tbh.

Excellent staff, good food, wide variety of vinyls. Coffe is really good. Overall very pleasing experience. Owner of the place is very knowledgable about music and very chatty, he told me story of the place against my own will. 5/5 when hes not around though

We really liked this place. It had free wi-fi and some nice cakes and drinks. They sold vinyl inside the shop which is a + and they played really good music! We´ll be back.
