Big Fish in Horsham

Four of us popped in and shared two bags of chips. Great service. We were kindly given some curry sauce for free by the owner. Chips were fresh and tasty.will return to try the halloumi

I got served by a young boy named Dan his customer service was EXXELENT and did everything to my request. For example i specifially asked for loads of salt and he did as i asked and piled it on there like the good boy he is !!!!

I ordered Battered sausage and chips recently and to my horror both the young girls were eating food from behind the counter while they were serving myself and other customers. And worse still , neither of them washed their hands prior to serving me my order, one of them even wiped her mouth multiple times with her hand just before handling my order. At any time this is pretty disgusting and falls way below normal food safety standards, but surely this is especially important doing these difficult Covid times. I’d hope that my order would redeem the experience, but unfortunately that was equally disappointing. The chips were very dry, clearly not freshly fried and the battered sausage although fresh was very greasy. I wish I’d just asked for my money back and tried elsewhere. But I was pushed for time and was very hungry.

Closing time on the door is 9pm, I got there at 8.45 to get some chips and was told they were already closed and 9pm was the time they actually locked the door and left!!! Also they don’t take payment by card??? @HMRC ??

A great little fish bar in Steyning - the fish is cooked to order and is always delicious - chips are lovely too. Had a battered sausage the other week and it was really good. Not tried the burger yet.

went there before a party, got judged by a fellow customer outside the store, didn’t receive everything i had paid for, couldn’t hear the workers through the closed door

Service was great. Fish was similar to cheap frozen supermarket battered fish. Thick and chewy in its texrure, probably the worst fish I've ever ordered. Chips were ok.

Quite the best fish and chips, almost without exception. I'm a regular customer; the quality is consistent, always freshly cooked; the fish is good quality, the batter crisp and crunchy, the chips fresh cut and crisp, not soggy and limp like some. Probably the best chippy in Sussex. No, the best chippy in Sussex!

Excellent fish and chips fried in clean oil. Cannot be faulted and the service was quick and efficient! I will be returning quite soon

BEST fish and chips I have had in a long time. Thank you also for opening during lockdown . However I had far too much ordered normal fish and chips and I had two bits of fish and a mountain of chips . yummy but a bit too big .Thank you.. great service and GREAT food

We have had fish and chips from Big Fish on several occasions now. The fish is certainly good but the big problem is the portion size. I normally order large cod but there is no concistency. The portion can be anything from smallish to huge. Please sort this out so I know what I am buying and paying for. And what's happened to the tartar sauce!

First time since new owner and hadn’t realised but wondered why portion small when asked for and paid for large, and tail of cod which was thin. Will try again but very disappointed this time, as we HAD finally got a decent chippy in Steyning, shame.

I would certainly rate the Haddock i had here the other week to be one of the best away from where you'd expect them to be great (i.e the fishing ports of Scotland, Peterhead, Fraserburgh etc). It was superb, fresh and generous in size. The only let down was the chips which was such a shame. Chips should be fairly chunky, these were thin cut. Get the chips right and it would be 5/5 from me.
