Biddy Mulligans Pub in Edinburgh, City of

Came for a drink after visiting Victoria Street and ordered the haggis loaded tater tots. They were absolutely delicious and the best haggis I’d had in my trip to Edinburgh. Could’ve ordered it again 10 times over. Great atmosphere and can tell that if there was any sport on then it’d be a great place to come to.

Cheila was absolutely amazing and so polite. She honestly was the best bartender we met in Dublin. Out of all the bars, this one was an absolute gem. Please come here if you visit Dublin!

Unsanitary at its FINEST. They reuse beer glasses under the spout. They never once wash their hands. I saw a lemon drop and roll on the floor and the girl picked it up and started cutting it again adding it to their lemons and lime pile for drinks. We were disgusted. Also, the main blonde girl bartender was very rude.

Advertised as the smallest pub in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 (although I have my doubts that this is the case). Near Grassmarket Square and Victoria Street, we are welcomed by a typical pub with screens showing old matches in black and white. We found it by chance and it surprised us, it has a varied offer of well-drafted beers and a generous menu. We ordered the Fish & Chips and the Mac & Cheese and it was all delicious. They were very quick to serve us and very friendly, the time we spent in the pub was very pleasant, thank you for everything.

Food was okay, but the service and entertainment is what made the night. Great cover bands and the server was fantastic! Bonus, right across from our hotel so we could drink and not have to worry about getting back.

The live music was great, lots of people. Seemed decent. The nacho cheese was burned so I couldn't pull the chips off the plate and the Irish stew was so-so, and for our first experience in Scotland, we didn't know we needed to order at the bar. When we asked staff for a menu a couple times, they got snippy with us, but we didn't know. Other than that, the staff working the bar were decent and guests were having a great time. We wanted to like it, and it had the ability to be good.

Great pub - lively atmosphere. The salmon salad was very tasty, fresh, and a generous portion size. A bit disappointed with the taste of the Irish coffee, but overall a decent pub with lovely staff.

Good general pub in Grassmarket. Get away from the crowds and get a snack and a pint.

Fantastic pints, and great food. But here’s the issue: the service is woeful. Sorry, and I do love this pub, but was left standing for 10 minutes at the bar while 4 times the bar staff ignored me to tend to their friends who had walked in. Then proceeded to serve other patrons who had just arrived. And sadly this is not an isolated incident. Bar staff simply seem to pick and choose when it suits them to serve paying customers. And until that changes I simply won’t be coming back.

First meal in Scotland after traveling 28 hours. The smoked haddock's chowder was to die for! This is saying a lot considering I'm from Cape Cod. Everyone was happy with their meals. Excellent place to go.

The beer selection is good. We enjoyed drinks outside in the sun. We were able to order online using the QR code and pay directly. The drinks are brought directly to the table.

Only had a few whiskeys here didn’t have any food, but friendly atmosphere and staff. Unfortunately the musician called in sick the night I was there… They stay open a bit later than most pubs in the area. Would go again.

Typischer Pub mit Life Musik am Abend. Personal sehr aufmerksam höflich und zuvorkommend. Frühstück für Hotelgäste des Grassmarket Hotel war ausgezeichnet. Verschiedene Biere am Zapfhahn. Gin Tonic nicht zu empfehlen, da ein aus unserer Sicht minderwertiges Tonic genutzt wird.

Loved the atmosphere, better than any other on grassmarket and the guiness is probably some of the best in Edinburgh! definitely would recommend :)

Decent spot for a drink and a bite to eat

Went on a Saturday night, very busy spot, no seats available. Good music but only stayed for one as it was too busy for us. Seems like good craic if you get there early to get settled in.

Excellent food, lovely pub which was enjoyable despite the cheeky, pretentious, precious bar girl that refused to serve me until I said please after having said thanks before, pathetic.

Had a great meal here, outside in the glorious sun, Haggis, Neeps & Tatties for the full Scottish experience!

Came here with my girlfriend, was right away impressed with the place, the atmosphere, the look, there was live music playing, it was great! The food was amazing, the beer even better and the staff were super friendly. We’ll be back for sure.

Pretty awful service in this place. 2 pots of tea leaked, 1 of the lads got their food 20 minutes before the rest of us and another got his 20 minutes later. Brought the issues to the staff and they didn’t give a hoot. Won’t be back. On the back of this review, and as per below, I was asked to detail the issues in an email. I did that and haven’t heard anything since. Do not go here as it’s woeful.

Irish pub in the Grassmarket. Good sized bar which is popular with students, stag and hen do's, tourists and locals. Live music every night and a bit of a dance floor space. Lively bar which can be very busy but well staffed and security on door.

Party pub, chilled atmosphere, great vibes. Live music spot on. Bar staff on point.

You'd be better off at literally any of the other bars on this street.

Haggis and crisps excellent, friendly service

Very poor quality service. Waiting 20 mins for table service. No napkins or condiments on table. Outside tables rocking on uneven ground. Staff uninterested serving customers. After ordering, waiting a further 20 mins for mediocre food which was not hot. Would not spend another penny in this place and I doubt they would really care. If they were working for tips I'm sure things would be different.

Irish pub. No Smithwicks. No Killians. No Harp. Guinness and assortment of trash beer.

Nice place. Very expensive pints as my Tennants was nearly £6. The stereos were too loud for me as you had to shout in someone's ear to hear them. This was later in the evening but I think everyone would benefit from it being quieter.

Great breakfast and friendly staff, nice atmosphere and loads of events and music going on. Would come again definitely.

Just for a drink the place is good. There are indeed disabled toilets but with maches at the entrance... Few people passed by and the service was fast and friendly. There are concerts in the evening at the back of the pub. The poster seems diverse.

A good time spent at noon. Nice pop rock playlist.

customer service was fantastic and food was delicious, really nothin to complain about, would definitely revisit if i’m in the area!

Plastic glasses even at dinner time, and even if you drink inside. Sticky tables and grubby all round. Toilets, even at lunchtime were a disgrace. Locks broken, toilets full of paper, not cleaned and smelly.

Disappointing experience Saturday night ( 15th June ). 4 bottles of bud, 1 southern comfort with lemonade and a pint of tenants ( and i only asked for half ) £32.00+. When i asked for the rundown on prices the barboy couldnt tell me. He did push to supply me with a full pint as i had paid for it, but half heartedly offered £2.00 back for the other half i didnt ask for, oh and a comment that " this is an expensive bar ". I would be interested to hear from the venue on the pricing. Following this review i was contacted by the venue and was presented with an apology. I did also find out that Biddys do add a service charge on to your order, something i wasnt made aware of.

Great location in Edinburgh. My entire family was impressed with the bar staff/service. Bangers and mash were on point. Great Guinness pour! Amazing experience to end out trip to Edinburgh

Just had a beer, quick service and great atmosphere, pub known for parties.

We only stopped to have a beer, as we were with our baby and we already knew we couldn't go into pubs, we ordered and sat outside, a delicious beer and a place to enjoy it.

The food was substandard and the staff very rude.

Great atmosphere. I come here to watch a lot of football, rugby, and GAA while grabbing something from their tasty menu and listening to their live music, which is on every day! Great place

We came to Biddy's for a cider, nacho's and live music (from 8pm). We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and only left early because we still had to pack our suitcases. Staff is very friendly (and fast). Will come back when we visit next time!

We popped into biddy mulligans, on a whim, and what a brilliant atmosphere! The staff were super knowledgeable, and were able to guide us through the various items on the menu, as well as the extensive whiskey menu. 100% worth a visit

Bald security guard being very aggressive with females unnecessarily. Not very welcoming and very off putting, was willing to ‘square up’ to us and making me and my female friends feel threatened just by sitting outside.

Terrible toilet... It's scary for a pub like this. Zero service. Really disappointed.

Very, very disappointing pub. Never has any Pinot wine , aked for bottle of coke , they don't stock it, no bottled Pepsi either, they only had J20 or Irn Brew as soft drink options .I am no able to drink the coke out a "gun" due to issues with the glutton contained in those units . Noted also they have very poor choice of beers ( One brand of IPA , tenants, guineas or Magners cider ) compared to other bars in Edinburgh you are really failing to compete .

This is one of the only bars in Grassmarket that stays open later than all the neighboring bars. A good spot for a late night cap or a fun weekend sing and dance along the live band. Katie, our server, was super helpful!!

Called in for a drink to get out of the rain. We were served by Ben who was friendly and helpful. I asked for a whisky of his choice and he was very knowledgable and gave me a “The Balvenie”which was really nice. We didn’t eat but the food that was coming out looked really good.

What a scam. Wants to charge you 4,5 pound for baby shots after offering them to you ‘for free’ but only mentioning you have to pay for them after you downed like a legend

French tourists, we had lunch on a Monday noon. We feasted ! Very good fish & chips. Very good haggies with a delicious sauce. And I discovered Cullen Skink, I loved it! Musical atmosphere. Local tourists. Nice !

Wonderful spot across from our hotel. Had dinner our first night here. Burger was lovely and tasty!

Went there to watch the Champion League match. A bit hungry, got a local dish, nothing to write home about. The only draft IPA was lousy. The live music was great. Very crowded, pretty hard to find a seat with a proper screen view.

Amazing service! Especially from Laoise! She really helped me with a lost phone, was kind, sorted the issue quickly and im so very grateful to her. Due to go on holiday im a few days and she literally saved me. Lovely staff members thankyou so so much xxx

Great place for a stop and a few beers

Very loud and stuffy and very dark inside. The staff seemed very distant and distracted.

Lewis scott was a amazing host! We prebooked dinner for 5pm and had a walk round. There was 8 of us for roast beef sunday roast. Dinner was lovely but all was so disappointed there was no horse radish.
