Came for a business trip and got meal deal vouchers for breakfast and dinner, all of the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming and some of the best customer service I have ever received, with all going above and beyond to help and upsell/ make recommend on the menu. Every I ate was yummy and cooked well! The breakfast is a continental buffet with cook to order hot items for the breakfast menu. All cooked well, I even requested a bacon roll to go one morning for “on the road breakfast” which was greatly appreciated! I wouldn’t Recommend the fish and chips and the burger meals, and the Black Forest cake was delicious! (I personally wouldn’t Recommend the chicken and rib combo, I’ve had this at a few beefeaters although has been consistent, it’s not for me, I believe the chicken is dry/ chewy and what I enjoy about ribs in general is fresh, juicy, fall off the bone meat, which I don’t believe this meets the criteria, although not a bad meal I don’t believe it compares in quality with the rest of what I ate, additional at the time it is one of the higher cost items on the menu)

Group of us went for lunch, had the Sunday roast and would absolutely not recommend. Beef was old, dry, and tough. Roasties were dry and hard - not like any roast potato I've had before, really unpleasant! I've had better food in a Hungry Horse for less money.

No Guinness, what's the matter with this place?!

Visited her lastnight a party of 9 of us, staff were brilliant and very welcoming, the food was AMAZING all of our meals came out together and not 1 fault with any of the meals!! I had the Salmon which I can honestly say was the best I've ever eaten! All of us realy had a great evening here to celebrate our friends birthday, we highly recommend and will 100% be returning. We visited the restaurant for my brother in law's 30th birthday on 7th February. There were approximately 20 people in the party, and the agreement was to split the bill accordingly to what each person had ordered from the menu. My elderly grandmother had kindly agreed to pay for six people. When I went to the bar to pay via card machine, by mistake, the barman accidentally entered the incorrect amount to be paid, which was a total of roughly £269 (the entire bill). The barman realised what had happened and became upset about the mistake that had been made. My sister and I both reassured him that we were not angry and can appreciate mistakes can happen. It was simply a case of human error. I am not writing this review based on what had happened, but more the aftermath and the treatment received by "managerial" staff. My grandmother then went to the bar to find out what had happened and was simply told "we are going round in circles and that I (her granddaughter) should have checked the amount on the card reader". I would like to mention that when you insert your card in to the reader, it asks if you would like to donate to charity and pay a gravity before you can pay for your bill, so this can be easily missed by the customer. The manager advised us to work out the exact amount that needs to be paid individually. My grandmother was rather upset and crying as the money in her account was from her pension which she needed to live on for the remainder of the month, and I do not feel that this was taken in to consideration. The attitude received by the manager demonstrated a lack of empathy towards my grandmother and myself by deflecting and putting the blame on me for not checking the balance. Might I add - the bar staff took a considerable amount of time inputting the information into the till before I was asked to pay, so anybody would assume that the information is correct. We were there until at least 11:00pm trying to sort it out, and my seven month old was with us. No gesture of goodwill was offered for the inconvenience caused. Only when we requested it, we were given one free meal at a later date. This would not have happened, had we not pushed for it. Overall - disappointing ending from what was supposed to be a joyous occasion, and because of that, we shall not be returning any time in the near future. The managerial staff were not compassionate in the slightest, and I felt as though more could have been done to compensate the error. You could understand if it was a family run business, but it's not what you expect from such a large food chain.

The food was a great example of the worst of UK chain pubs. Considering they market themselves as a "Steak restaurant", I was surprised to find a relative lack of steak options and then very disappointed in the quality of the meal that was served. Being a chain, I appreciate that there is a limited amount that the cooks can do with the frozen ingredients they are supplied but one thing I would expect is basic cookery skills: Don't burn it, don't undercook it, don't leave it standing too long. They failed on all three counts and then slapped it all on a plate like a three years olds hand painting. The so-called 8oz Sirloin steak was as thin as a placemat, it was grey and looked as if the char marks had been added it at the factory before being reheated. Except they had barely reheated it. Gristly and unappealing. The so-called "calamari" was, well I don't even know what it was. It was the only hot thing on the plate but it was also burnt, greasy and could best be described as like a breaded prophylactic. I couldn't even eat it. Absolutely disgusting and unlike anything even remotely resembling squid. The King Prawns looked ok until I took a bite and had to politely spit it back out. Like eating a piece of cold rubber. At least I had some chips to eat though? You can't go wrong with chips. Well, to my utter astonishment, they can here! If those were "thrice cooked chips" then I am Peter the Great! What they were was half a small handful of barely warmed oven chips that were dry and tasteless. Cold watery slimy mushroom, cold tomato... need I go on? Irrespective of the end cost, which was far too high for what we got, the meal was poor at any price and I will not be eating there again.

There’s not much that can ease the pain of the end of a week off, but, thanks to Georgie, this afternoon was a fantastic, relaxed afternoon with family! Really accommodating with our requests for the baby, as well!

Disappointed compared to previous visits. Portions smaller. Having finished food we were told table booked out again in 10 minutes. We would like to have stayed and had another round of drinks.

Awful meal. Due to me being allergic to garlic the only thing I could have was Prawn Cocktail. It consisted of lettuce, some cucumber and about 15 prawns. Stale piece of bread not even buttered. It was awful. £6.99 for that! I’d like to teach them what a prawn cocktail should look like - WITH FLAVOUR!!!!

Two friends and I had a lovely 3 course meal at lunchtime. Our server was Vicky who was great, but all staff are pleasant and helpful.

Good food and atmosphere but we did wait over 30 minutes for food to arrive.

I went for the first time in years on 8 feb and was pleasantly surprised. The place has obviously had a makeover since last I went but the food was lovely and our sever and I sorry to say I have forgotten her name was a lovely sweet girl who was pleasant and friendly. Will definitely be going back.

Georgie service was Next Level. She was very attentive and checked in thorough the meal. Love her knowledge of available gins.

Three of us booked for Sunday lunch, 2 of us had "beef" & 1 "gammon". When dinners arrived, they looked very unappealing and very small and tasteless amounts. Neither meats were off joints, just pieces of meat. For the price paid, the meal was very sad and meagre. Ordered deserts which mine was cold. Altogether very disappointing The only saving grace was that the staff were lovely and attentive.

Went for Sunday roast having seen the pictures online but unfortunately it was nothing like what the picture shows. The beef was chargrilled the amount was puny to say the least and there was a serious lack of flavour apart from the charring on the beef, which you wouldn't want on your so called Sunday roast. Very disappointing. Staff were lovely but clearly too busy to give proper attention in a timely manner.

Came here this evening for a Sunday lunch . We had to wait a long time for the food . When it came it was cold. Not enough food to feed a mouse and wasnt worth the £67.00 we had to pay for it .The staff were nice so I can't fault them .we were going to order a pudding but decided against it . They did knock a tiny bit off but the meal just wasn't worth the money.we won't be going there again .

Absolute favourite place to eat. Food is really good, service is amazing. Every member of staff is so friendly and helpful really makes the evening, I want to mention all of the lovely staff but will go with Vicky today who served us last weekend - thanks Vicky a pleasure as always 😊

Staff were great , food was very average and zero ambiance for an evening out , really disappointing (someone was vacuuming another part of restaurant, we visited around 7pm ) we’d never been here before it felt like it’s fine as a food place for the hotel but not for an evening out . £5 extra for 2 prawns, food was cooked nice but nothing special at all , I had fillet steak and on reflection I should have questioned the cut, it had grissle and didn’t look like a fillet

The best chicken breast which i ever ate at the restaurant. Juicy and full of flavour. Drink was also delicious. Highly recommend.

Been tonight for a meal food was shocking service was poor and no atmosphere it was dead in there mom ask for salmon it came with no sauce no prawns and no veg asparagus turkey dinner was swimming in gravy prawn cocktail was ok wanted a pudding had the bill instead then the women started hoovering around we been going there for years never again hope peoples dinner Christmas day are better

Excellent food, Tracey paid special attention to detail with our food/order which is much appreciated anytime of the year let alone at Christmas time. Nice atmosphere and toilets clean.

Attended Sunday evening for an evening meal. On arrival resturant was very empty however we was told they may not have a table for us. We ordered food, it took a long time for it to arrive, when food arrived portions were small for the cost of the food. Waiter did not ask if we needed anything else, when we asked for some sauce she puffed at us, rolled her eyes and slapped her hands on her legs like we were asking too much! She then sent one of her colleagues back with the sauce about 5 minutes later! Steak was overcooked and had a lot of fat through it. Staff were very rude, not acomaditing and we would definitely not return. Did not have a present visit at all!

Atmosphere was lovely. The decorations for Christmas made it very festive. Gemma, our server was particularly wonderful! Very attentive and warm. Thank you for making our evening perfect! Merry Christmas! P.s dessert was amazing!

Great staff, good selection of drinks and newly changed menu. The chicken coated in crushed nachos was particularly good. We were served by Tammy who was really helpful and friendly. We will definitely return next time we stay at the premier inn next door.

Food took over 30 minutes to arrive after having to ask where it was. When it did arrive, it was just above luke warm. I had an odd stirring ball while my partner had a random pig in blanket. The gravy was like water and basically it tasted like a microwave meal.

I had fish and chips. The chips were ok. The fish was brown in colour and tasted funny.

Lara was my server, and she guided me through the menu. Suggesting possible desserts, which were amazing. I decided on the mint after eight sundae The gammon and chunky chips were also very good

Outside is unkempt but has plenty of seating on a grass area. Entering the pub was very different it was very smart clean modern and tidy. We were met my a cheerful tattooed waitress with a smile ten miles wide. Refills available on your coke. Our order was taken and it arrived very well presented. We had the steak egg and chips, also makani curry, rice chuckney and a popadom. It was fabulous very similar to a chicken balti. Recommended. Pudding was a cheese cake and ice cream again very nice. No queuing, only a few customers in at midday. We had refills, charged our mb and relaxed. Excellent! Highly recommended, don't let the outside appearance put you off. Will visit again soon. Toilets smart clean, fresh smelling. 👌

Excellent lunch with the kids. Excellent service from the ladies provided. Food was lovely piping hot and all in good time. 3 hours free parking just enter your car reg as soon as you walk in. Would 100% recommend to everyone.

Absolutely fantastic meal today, fillet steak medium rare, chips, and garden peas also had honey and mustard sauce, beer battered onion rings all served by Vicki who was rushed off her feet as it was busy but still had a massive smile on her face. Thanks again. I definitely recommend it to all.

Had a cheeky Friday lunchtime treat myself and my husband. Ashley is a lovely waitress so smiley and nothing is too much trouble for her. As I’m gluten intolerant fresh cutlery was bought out for me. Lovely food and service thanks Ashley and team 10/10

Been staying at the hotel next door and had a lovely meal meal here every night. Was well looked after by Georgie.

Went on the 21st October 2024 and it was a very pleasant evening. Our server Gemma was very pleasant and friendly and nothing was to much trouble. She was lovely. The 3 courses we had were all piping hot and very tasty. Would highly recommend.

I ate the "beefeater combo" there. It was quite good and sufficient. The wait for the food was relatively short. The waitress "Georgie" was friendly, quick on her feet and very attentive. If the opportunity arises, I'll be back.

Had lunch with friends and our little one. The staff were all very friendly. Tracey was our server, and she was very helpful and welcoming and was very interactive with our little one. Food was great and served in a reasonable time, drinks were also nice and Tracey was sure to make sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit

Service very slow as we sat and watched our drinks being left for 40 mins un- delivered to table. Toilets dirty, 2 doors don't lock. Starter was burnt but main was lovely. We were going to have a desert but decided against it after poor service. This used to be so much better but gone down hill in the last year or so. Stacey is always lovely however and always happy to help.

Came here last night for our uncles 70th Birthday meal. We were a group of 17. Table was a good size for 17 people and in a nice area of the restaurant. Service was very good and our waitress was friendly and organised. (I think her name was Grace). Orders were taken and I was very impressed that all food was served at the same time and all orders were correct. Everyone enjoyed their food. Me, my husband and our 2 daughters ordered: The rib and chicken combo Beef and ale pie 3 x starters of halloumi fries, nachos and breaded Mushrooms Kids burger meal. All food was fresh and tasty and we really enjoyed it. It was my first time here and I would definitely come here again. A nice atmosphere and the staff were very accommodating especially as we were the last ones to leave! We were advised in a friendly way to finish up our drinks as they had closed for the night. I could have easily stayed longer due to the nice atmosphere. Thank you for a lovely evening.

When we arrived the card reader was down. We had cash so continued for our meal. We had to ask for service after 40 minutes of us being there. One meal out of 8 was not cooked and brought with the other. Staff were apologetic about this and gave me a discount. Over all normally a lovely place to go but I do believe the were short staffed and trying to deal with card machine issues which cause the slow service. But I will return in the future

Met a friend here for tea as we used to work here years ago so like to come back our waitress Tammy was fantastic, will def be back.

All you can eat buffet style continental breakfast or pay extra and have all you can eat unlimited cooker ld breakfast such as sausage, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, black pudding etc with unlimited drinks like coffee, tea, juice, water etc and the unlimited continental such as toast, cereals, pastries, pancakes and more! with jams, butter, conserves, marmite etc just so much to choose from for such a good price. All fresh, cooked to order not a buffet and they'll cook whatever you want unlimited. Plenty of seating, toilets on site. Located next to the premier inn hotel. Free 3 hour parking as long as you register your car registration plate on the system as you walk in the entrance. Clean and tidy. Friendly staff just a nice place to visit as a family or with friends with great deals for food and drink
