Had jerk chicken really dry Not very nice and expensive

Great food we ordered jerk chicken x2 also chicken curry rice and peas and Ben and Jerry Was absolutely spot on big portions and super tasty , will be ordering again thankyou all staff at Bennett’s Ow and delivery took 30 minutes from ordering 5star

food was good as usual. opened my order and noticed the coleslaw was missing but this has never happened before always got the delivery right so no big deal. not long after and a knock on the door and the driver was there with a tub of Slaw. fab service as always, thanks again!

Ordered via uber eats, waited 3hrs and it never turned up. This has happened twice. Worse customer service ever. Deeaadd

Honestly if I could give 0 I would. We ordered from there the Saturday before Easter Sunday for 3 people. We all got the combo meal. I got jerk chicken and goat curry, my partner’s mom got goat curry and fried chicken and my partner got fried chicken and and chicken curry. My partner woke up at the next day and he feels terrible. Spend the whole Easter in bed or over the toilet and that carried on till Tuesday! It took him a whole week to feel better. We think it was the chicken curry as it was the only thing different to mine and his mum’s order. Be careful of where you eat chicken people as salmonella is not a joke. I’m still scared to eat chicken out now just in case. The staff was very friendly at least Edit to respond as it’s not letting me; contact you about what? What would you have done? Considering that’s the only thing we ate that day it’s pretty safe to assume it was from that and considering that was the only thing different and my partner the only one that was sick again safe to assume it was from you. And honestly I should have made that review straight away but I kept forgetting. That’s my only mistake. That someone else might have eaten there too when I could have prevent them. I think you should take a look at your reviews and do better!

Will defo not order from here again I use to love it tonight felt like I was eating left overs u guys do how u feel but mine was disgusting cold and clumps of rice sorry to be honest but I spent near on 40quid never again…… this was decent before what’s happened???

This place is always fantastic - the food is great, and the delivery driver (+ assistant) were lovely. I think about this place a lot.

Just had a delivery from here, the food is stunning! Really enjoyed the curry goat, could have it a little bit spicier but it wasn’t an issue. Mac and cheese was great as was the coleslaw. Delivery was really fast and i feel like the food is so reasonably priced as the portions are big! Will definitely be ordering from here again!

Fancied some curry goat rice and peas So ordered to collect When I got home and opened the food I was very disappointed The curry goat had no taste of curry at all had to put salt and pepper on it to make it edible and the rice and peas wasn’t great either The coleslaw was runny Won’t be eating from there again

Ordered jerk chicken, asked for breast but got leg and thigh, not a big issue. The food itself was terrible, rice overcooked and quite crispy/crunchy, the chicken was very tough and very dry, had no gravy on it and tasted old, like it was yesterday's chicken and had been reheated, had a very microwaved taste to it. Steam veg looked and tasted stale. Last time I will be ordering from here, this food might satisfy the 'local' people but anyone who knows about authentic carribean food would not rate what I got today...

The soup and dumplings were nice however the festivals were like rubber. I assume they’d been reheated and cooked by the time they got to me making them inedible.

Went in the restaurant to buy fish so I asked the lady over the counter when were the fish fried she said on the 29 Dec /23 bearing in mind I went in the shop on 2nd January 2024, I asked when was the ackee cooked she said 30 Dec 23 and so was the calaloo, I asked what was cooked today she said the oxtail and curry I just left the shop didn’t purchase anything coz how can you be selling food 4-5 days old I was really schocked if I didn’t asked I would have bought it not knowing it’s not fresh food be carefull best to just cook ur own food.

Asked for chicken curry got.mutton no meat just bone

I was so disappointed with this. I can't believe I've been sent food with old rice. I couldn't eat the rice it tasted like it was 2 days old and hadn't even been kept in the fridge. I feel like it takes 10 minutes to cook rice, so although the rest of the meal was nice the rice has put me off from ever ordering again.

Definitely wasn't worth the wait around 30mins late or the money food tasted bland n flavourless very disappointed most of it went in the bin

We’ve had a few deliveries from Bennett’s now and the food has been brilliant every time. Our new favourite takeaway. Delivery drivers are always friendly too.

I went in for the first time this week around lunch time after been highly recommended by a friend. I chose the jerk chicken main meal I think it was regular around £8 which was with rice peas and veg. It had two pieces of chicken in the box. The chicken was cooked well in came off the bone and the taste was really good. I will definitely be back. I took the food home but the shop itself was clean and tidy so would of eaten in if had the time.

Bennett’s is genuinely so so so yummy. I feel like whoever is behind the making of the food has been doing it for years, as it always tastes so wholesome. It’s my go to place to order when I just want a treat that will both fill me up but also it doesn’t make you feel bloated or sickly like other takeaways can do. The fried plantain is a must, chopping a plantain in half adding it to your fork and then getting a bit of curry rice peas and steamed veg on the fork.. chefs kiss.

Brilliant tasting food & good portion sizes. Always great food. Unfortunately missed one piece of banana cake from the order but everything was lovely.

We ordered our first take out in person tonight and were really impressed. The food was hot, well presented, and in appropriate portions. We enjoyed a large jerk chicken meal and a large curry goat meal, both with rice and peas and vegetables. The meat was cooked beautifully and the sauces were really tasty. Try them out, you won't be disappointed.

Ordered here many times in the past, today was disappointing my Goat curry was more bones then goat only had 2 bits of meat which is not usual ! Normally full of meat still was nice i must have fallen unlucky :)

Fantastic Jamaican food from Bennett's as always!

Absolutely shocking service and quality! Would give zero stars if i could. Requested a breast and leg piece of jerk chicken. The woman confirmed they do breast on the phone. Food arrived, it was a thigh and a leg that looked like someone had taken a bite out of it, hardly any meat, and had not one drop of jerk sauce on the chicken. I called the restaurant to get some sauce and some more chicken delivered, as i was promised a breast piece. The response i got was sorry, theres nothing we can do. After going back and forth being asked what the issue was, the same response was given. Theres nothing we can do. So wont be be ordering from you again and will be recommending all friends and family to do the same.

Plenty meat in soup only bad thing is dumplings are to oily as they are stacked on top of each other and the oil drains into the rest of dumplings

First time I have ordered from this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Couldn’t decide between the curried goat and jerk chicken, so I had both. They was fantastic, the meat falls off the bone and the marinade was perfect. Deserves more than 5*

Shocking service, shocking food, shocking prices for the quality of food and really disrespecting Caribbean cuisine. Went in and asked for wings, fries and can which should have been 5.50 each. Plantain chips (which she didn’t even put in the bag) and 2x buns. Charged £18/£19. Should have actually cost us £14 but didn’t really add the numbers till after payment and food was provided. She gave our food and didn’t give us our cans! She said that she put the chicken wings and fries separately hence why charging more!! She didn’t even want to give us the cans even after her incompetency. The food was clearly microwaved including the fries! had a total of 5 wings, and a handful of fries in each box. Do yourselves a favour and don’t bother and go to Tesco or Iceland down the road if you want microwaved food.

Disappointed :/ the stew chicken was tough and had no taste, nor did the sauce. It tasted heavily watered down plus saltfish to ackee ratio was way off! I actually had to look for the saltfish pieces. My red velvet cake was warm having been on top of my piping hot food, not a good experience today

Tonight we ordered from here for the fourth time. Sat down to eat and my meal was lovely and warm and the other 2 orders where absolutely stone cold. Like out the fridge cold. Upon calling the shop I was told it was their mistake they thought we had ordered them cold and that we need to MICROWAVE it to reheat it! Apparently the chef cooks them in the morning and they reheat it when you order. How gross and not good when you're paying pretty pricey prices for the food! Really been put off. However the team did resend out the food and made sure it was hot which was great. However, we most certainly won't be ordering again. Where is it advertised that it is reheated meals 🤔

Although the food was nice and delivered early, unfortunately I didn't receive the food I actually ordered. On the box was written my order, ackee & saltfish, rice&peas, but when I opened it, there was mutton rice & peas..

Ordered a large mixed jerk and fried chicken dinner, rice and peas with veg, side of mac and cheese and separate gravy. Food was average. Didnt taste fresh and the doubt they jerked the chicken in a jerk pan. Sorry, would go there again

The food was not up to the standard of jamaican cooking, chicken was just done in my opinion and under seasoned, curry goat was bland and had too much fat around the meat, plantains were ok but bland had no sweetness, mac and cheese was good I enjoyed that, banana cake tasted like flour but red velvet cake was good. We all had rice and peas with veg and we was really disappointed with the peas as they tasted like they were the ones out the can. It saddens me to write such a negative review but as a black person I was just shocked. And the fact we payed £40 for that quality of food is what made me want to express my disappointment. We will not be ordering again sorry. Only thing I will say is it came on time and was hot at arrival.

This really used to be one of my favourite Caribbean takeaways. Something has changed and the food is so hit and miss these days. My order did not taste freshly cooked in the slightest and my soup has absolutely no taste.

The only thing that done my head it no sauce with the goat curry and loads of rice and no curry 11pound for rice! But the taste was great!

If you don't eat from this place, it's your loss, best food around, alway piping hot and they never fail on taste💚💚

Vegetarian triple mix box states comes with rice and peas none, no rice and peas in my box. Disappointed as i would of ordered if it states without rice and peas.
