Bengal Lounge in Stevenage

Just moved to the area and tried two other places. This was the best by far, and I will certainly order from Bengal again, very tasty saucy and very yummy

Food not upto the mark. Quantity was also quite less.

Great food nice and hot fast delivery

Food was OK, quality of meat was good, but sauces were not the best, dhansak was extremely hot (and we like hot dishes) but this was to the point it was not enjoyable. Also there is no valid phone number so was unable to amend the order (I forgot poppadoms!)

Waited around 1hour 45min to be delivered then it got delivered someone else in my street by the time I got the food was horrible and cold will definitely not be ordering again

Ordered a takeaway. Food delivered within time quoted. Arrived piping hot and extremely tasty. Would highly recommend. Great value for money.

Good tasty food, delivered on time.

Food was on time and hot however I had items missing, 1 chicken tikka masala, 1 keema rice, 1 onion barji and 1 saag paneer, which is outrageous I would be more understanding if it was the one item but to have this amount missing is disgusting I strongly feel a refund is more than fair for the items that were missing.

Portions were a little small and food wasn't that tasty to be honest.

Consistently delicious food and great service.

The most watery korma I’ve ever had. I never knew a curry could be watery but this one was more water than it was curry. I ordered a garlic and cheese naan bread and what came was a plain naan with grated cheese on top. It looked disgusting, like undercooked scrambled egg. It had all clearly been rushed which is disappointing cause the food has always been lovely from here. The garlic and cheese naan is also my favourite dish. All in all it was a waste of money as most of it went in the bin. The only positive was that it was delivered on time, probably due to it being rushed.

The chicken in both dishes was overcooked and very dry. Will this prevent me from ordering again from this restaurant? No, because this is my favourite Indian takeaway and an exception. The food is usually top notch and everyone is allowed to have An off day occasionally

Naans we’re rock hard the curry was way more spicy than usual wasn’t able to eat it

Food was absolutely disgusting. Bland, no taste at all, container was half filled, I was given three pieces of meat, asked for Lamb but that definitely wasn't lamb. Threw it in the bin

I had the set meal for one it it tasted good, delivery was earlier than expected and there's a lot for the money. I ended up eating half and the other half the next day. Would recommend.

Service and speed was great. If the resultant made their chicken a bit softer and stopped putting the naan in a bag that makes the naan wet when it arrives then this would get 5 stars for food quality as the taste is fantastic...

First time here, food was great.. nice fresh popadoms and naan. Rice had a few lumps but tasted fantastic. Chicken could be softer but again tastes fantastic. Would deffo use again..

Absolutely disgusting. Prawns were burnt and was mixed all in the sauce. Food should of been quality checked before being sent out.

My new favourite Indian restaurant does not open on Tuesdays, so I tried Bengal Lounge taking their offer of 20% of for orders > £15. In terms of what you get for your money, I would have been disappointed had I paid full price. It isn't bad food, its just so very average, and seems tailored to be too safe and made to try and suit the British palette. Portion size is also on the small side. Better options available in Stevenage, even on a Tuesday and paying full price.

order arrived late, missing items. called the restaurant who say it wasnt on the order slip even though its clearly on my order. they say items were delivered when it clearly wasnt. i order a lot from here and this is the WORST experience i have ever had.

Chicken tikka was very watery, had to drain it off my place twice. Bombay potatoes had one potato in it. Chips were lukewarm.

The order was placed at 6:52 pm and we received a text message at 7:50 pm stating our order was on its way. We waited for 15 minutes and called the restaurant which stated the order was going to be delivered in another 15 minutes time. We waited and at 8:30 the order still wasn't with us. I called the restaurant and they stated the order was just leaving. We are not happy about the service or delivery. The curry was still warm but not piping hot and the children food was not hot or warm.... Unacceptable to wait this long for a order when we got messages stating it was on its way. The food wasn't that great chips soggy...We will not be ordering from this place again...

Was at the yard finishing up with the horse. Didn't fancy cooking so I ordered a take out from 't'internet'... menu was accomodating enough. Found plenty to satiate myself and mister. Got home after 20 odd minutes drive and food was still piping hot. Good pots used. Definitely recommend.

Delicious and early. What more do you want? No restaurant service as was delivered but no choice to say n/a on the website. I'd order again but wish they had included a menu in the delivery.

(Restaurant service above irrelevant as ordered a take away). Restaurant updated order as delivered, over 30 mins before it actually arrived. I called and queried delivery, they said it was on route. Another 15 mins later and it arrived, so wasn’t on route!. Food was hot enough, but curry was so watery. This unfortunately waters the flavour completely out, so tasted really bland. For a 2 hour wait (said on the app 1 -1.5 hr), it really wasn’t worth it :(. Sorry for the feedback, just disappointed with how much was filled with water! (Couldn’t attach a picture!)

Surprised to even call this food Indian!!!!! Bland and over sweet under spiced. Sauce tastes like tomato puree with salt only. Over 2 hours just to get to the door. Can get way better taste food from a food truck than this restaurant

Was told food was with diver at 5.50. Got delivered 6.20. Was cold and greasy.

Incapable staff can’t complete a simple order!Said that the driver still had the items from our order in the car but couldn’t return after leaving 5 minutes prior, not only that rude staff down the phone hung up on me when I asked for a replacement. Food wasn’t that great either very standard Curry nothing special. Thought we’d try a new curry house but definitely will be returning to Mumbai spice ( if I could score 0/5 stars I would!)

Usually order elsewhere but my regular restaurant wasn't delivering tonight. Picked this place based on over 1000 great reviews. Food value on the set meal was great. Meal for one easily fed two and adding another main dish was inexpensive. Poppadoms, naan, onion bhajis, dips, salad, 2 x mains and a pilau rice for under £20. Amazing value. Food not quite as great as my usual but was certainly still a tasty treat. All very agreeable and delivered piping hot, on time. Nice job guys.
