Bengal Express in Darlington

Always my go to place for a curry. Tonight’s was the best I’ve had from there. Well done guys, great curry.

Food was nice and hot !! Only thing that let it down was there was only 6 shady pieces of chicken in loads of sauce, and the nann bread was undercooked.

Absolutely disgusting pay £50 for takeaway and I’m very disappointed with this meal no taste to anything we got which was chicken Tika masala wraps, munch box cheesy chips which all came in bags so there was no box I would not recommend this place to anyone rotten

Food was ok kinda cold and very greasy

Upon order, a text was received saying that the order would be late. 30 minutes later, I asked the restaurant for an update and was told the order would be further late due to 'heavy traffic'. Checking google maps, traffic was light for a 10 minute journey. The delivery driver handed over the food with a complaint about delivering 9 miles. The restaurant accepted the order from 9 miles away with no issue. Happy to take your money, but service is abysmal.

Missing items, told they would be sent out and they weren’t, gave then them the benefit of the doubt the past few weeks, will be trying somewhere else in future, loyal customers too been going here for years but time for somewhere new

Ordered a lamb bhuna and it came in a kurma sauce. Not very nice

Food delivered over an hour and a half late with stuff missing tried ringing the restaurant ended the phone on me 40 times then rang owners personal number he answered said 5 mins for the rest of the food which was then delivered 20 mins later shocking will never order from here again

Sadly whilst we live out of town delivery was incredibly poor and when received the order was missing a dish. Rang the takeaway and agreed to refund order. Frustrating but communication poor

I've sent a email for a refund to the just eat team as half the order wasn't right and missing items

The curry (main) was nice but the pickle tray was very poor, watery mango chutney and barely two broken up popodoms

Have ate here plenty of times and the food is normally spot on but today's delivery was late and cold. Worst chips ever they looked and tasted they had been reheated 10 times. very disappointed as its usually our favourite Indian takeaway.

Tikka massala was very bland, rice lacked flavour aswell. Lamb was tender and nice. Not sure I'd order again as there's better out there in Darlington.

Disappointing 😞 the starter and naan breads were cold, and didn't seem fresh, mains were good though. hence the 4 stars.

Ordered a bunch of appetizers and quick food. They delivered fast and everything was very good. Nice to have a kebab with naan bread.

Absolutely STAY AWAY!!! Use to be our favourite until our food turned up smelling like sour vomit. Called up to let them know and offered the curry back in exchange for a new one to be told to get a refund from Just Eat and now we have no refund from Just Eat even though we provided photographic proof of us scraping £20 into our bin. We suggested to the owner it could the cream that is out of date in which he told us he had put the cream in the bin after checking the date.

Good experience wish on just eat they would have some more photos of the food but genuinely one of the best takeaways I’ve had in a long time, very kind as well as I was having a very bad day and they added some rice bless them, made my night 100% better will be ordering again :P

We moved to the area and have tried so many Indian takeaways and they all disappointed until we said let’s try one more (this one) and we are so pleased we did. It was delicious. So much flavour and piping hot quick delivery. This is now our go to!! Tika masala was lovely and rich, the Nan bread was perfect! Keep it up and can’t wait to try again 😋

Disappointed. Appreciate we ordered a naan chicken tikka wrap, chicken pakora and seasoned doner with spices (I’m sure the curry is lovely, we just wanted something light and snacky). However these were all absolutely abysmal. The chicken pakora was shocking. Cheap breadcrumbs that left an awful aftertaste. The wrap was incredibly poor, had miles better from non Indian takeaways so really disappointed, flavourless chicken with no sauce and only sliced onion. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

It hasn’t been delivered. I’ve waited an hour and a half for delivery, the app is saying it’s been delivered and it hasn’t been, I’ve rang the restaurant he hardly spoke any English he said my order will be 5/10 minutes, it’s still not arrived??????!

Beautiful food but wasn’t the warmest, over an hour late from original stated time. Rang the shop a couple of times just to check it was out for delivery/on way and one person said was on way and another was very rude and hung up! Not very professional or kind. Unsure whether will order again or find another that is more appreciative of customers.

Usually very good quality and prompt delivery, unfortunately this time there were some issues. The food was delivered late, no mint sauce was included with my onion bhaji and no salad that we normally have included with our main course. Also the chips were only warm and quite hard. Hopefully this was a one off but I will look for improvements next time we order.

The worst curry I've had in a long time, if ever. short changed also.

when your food comes scorching hot, you know its going to be good. Perfectly on time. Only thing I would say is not enough chicken in the massala. A lot of sauce which makes it look like a decent portion but only had about 4 pieces of chicken in there between 2 people. It wasn't filling and usually these meals fill me up really quickly.

Cheesy chips felt like they were a few days old, not fresh. the cheese was the worse type of cheese you can get (plastic cheese) and the chips were not even seasoned. The vegetable Samosas were great!

First time ordered from Bengal Express and first time try food and I am suprise. Absolutly fantastic food, very tasy, definetly recommend and order again.
