Bengal Brasserie - Hither Green in Lewisham

Spur of the moment decision to go for dinner at this local restaurant. I had the chicken tikka massala with special rice and my partner went for chicken madras with peshwari nan and some vegetable side dishes. The food was delicious and very well presented especially the rice, which looked beautiful with colourful vegetables, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be going back.

It was one of the best Indian meals I have had. We were given a free main dish, which was delicious. House wine is very nice. We will definitely be using this restaurant a lot more.

Amazing evening with first class service, wonderful food & brilliant hospitality. Went yesterday with my partner, mum & step dad. We all agreed the food, experience and service was great. We highly recommend and will definitely be returning in the near future.

Our local Indian restaurant which we've used for about 2 years . In this time we have used the restaurant several times plus we've ordered numerous takeaway meals. The quality of the food and service both inside and for delivery is exceptional. The staff have just changed over and still a high standard and quality from this really lovely establishment. We highly recommend eating here. A big thumbs 👍🏻 up.

Been getting curry’s from here for years and it’s delicious! Especially the lamb Cylon and the Madras which we get with a little added heat!

That's the last time. I don't know if they have changed the chef, or cooking practices, but the last 3 orders from here have been dreadful. It used to be full of flavour and succulent. Now its bland and tasteless and very oily. For a 16 quid curry, it needs to be good, and this just isnt. Real shame and i will not be ordering from here again

Gave this a try on Uber eats due to good reviews. Not sure if the chef had an off day, but none of the food seemed to have been seasoned and all tasted very bland. Fried rice was also burnt. Unfortunately this was by quite some distance the most disappointing food me and my partner have had in southeast London.

A fantastic takeaway and restaurant business. Friendly customer service and excellent food. My family have been takeaway customers for many years. There is a good website ordering service for either delivery or collection.

Tried many takeaway curries in the local area, but I can safely say this was easily the best of the lot. Will now be our go-to for the future. Absolutely fantastic.

Not really of what advertised. It says that they do buffet during the week but went there to find out it's only a la carte. Got charge for a tray of chutneys that I didn't order. I personally found it overpriced for the area. The service was appalling as the waiter keeps coming and ask if we have finished so that he can take empty dishes away. There are better Indian restaurants around. I personally do not recommend this place.

Amazing food with perfect Bengali touch. Special mention to Machali Bengal which has all the Bengali essence and flavour in it. Good music and service. Overall we were extremely happy about choosing this one for our dinner date.

Indian Restaurant serving the "old favourites" plus many specials. This is one of the best Indian restaurants locally. The food is always freshly prepared, full of flavour and nicely cooked.

Hey this is the best Indian restaurant in Lewisham by far that I definitely recommend. I ordered egg rice, aloo gobi, saag paneer, tarka daal and cheese naan with a papadum as a side. It tasted spicy, exotic and delicious like it feels he cooked this with love and luxury. Thank you for the night Bengal Brasserie!

Having regularly ordered from this place for a long time now, I was disappointed in the last order I received which gave me food poisoning. :( such a shame that their quality control seems to have gone down now. Sending out food that has gone off is not acceptable. Please do better. I’m not sure if I’ll order from them again.

I have ordered food from this restaurant on many occasions, sometimes its a hit and mis, but last night was awful the chicken tasted like a leftover chicken it was suppose to be a chicken madras, it didn't taste anything like it, i definitely will not be ordering from this restaurant again!

After looking at the reviews I thought I’d give it a go and ordered via Ubereats but was very disappointed. The cauliflower bhaji had a funny smell, I’m assuming it was gone off. Also the peshwari nan had a citrusy taste which was odd and not nice at all. The curry had no taste at all.

Only tried as take away/home delivery. Food is delicious (chicken tandoori is exceptionally tender), the staff is friendly, and sometimes there is free papadum in the bag… love it.

THE best Indian in the area. We've tried them all and always come back to Bengal. Consistently tasty and good value.

First visit and made to feel very welcome. Only a few people eating in, which was a shame as it's quite a large place, but it was doing well on takeaway and delivery so perhaps post-Covid people will venture back. Great food, and you can take your own alcohol for £6 corkage. Three meat dishes, three veg side dishes, two rice and one naan came in at about £44 and taking our own wine meant it was under £50 for good food that fed four people.

Been ordering from here for a while now and the food is good and tasty and only a couple of times have I had to warm it up because it has been cold but it’s delivery so you can expect that sometimes.me and the wife always order the lamb bhuna and the only criticism I’ve got is the last couple of times I’ve ordered it it’s been bland no kick it used to be a bit spicier which I prefer hopefully it will get back to normal standards soon.still the best around highly recommend it

When the food came, I realised they forgot to bring naan bread. I called the restaurant and explained this and they was very disrespectful on the phone and refused to send a driver back with naan bread and offered a refund instead. Then proceeded to tell me that its not their problem and I should complain to just eat. When trying to reason with him to bring my naan bread, he then hung up mid conversation. I was very annoyed from this. I had to call back and get his name. He claimed to be the restaurant manager and his name is Syeed. I want my refund please. Thank you.

I would post 0 star but they don't have it... 1. The order was wrong. Forgot a pashwaree Nan. I ordered 2. 2. When called to ask about order MANAGER SYED had the audacity to be rude. Hung up on me. Whilst I was trying to explain.. 3. Made it seem like it was our problem, that they had no drivers and that they got the order wrong... They are in hither green and we are in blackheath. Could've been achievable.. 4. Verbal stated they would refund us but then told us to complain to just eat... No apology. No attempt to rectify 5. The food was absolute garbage and cold. Not worth the hassle. Please don't eat there.

1st time I've ordered here and won't be the last!! Food was on time, it was hot, and they don't give you 2 or 3 pieces of chicken with loads of sauce, and the chicken tikka was spot on, used 2 naans to dip up the bengal garlic chicken, yum, highly recommend 👍

First time in trying, and it was absolutely amazing, best curry ive had for a long time, meat samosas had so much flavour, tikka masala was on point, chicken madras was 100% lush, would highly recommend to anyone i know, i will be definitely ordering again, you guys absolutely smashed it

Food was okay but not as nice as usual- sent the wrong rice and refused to send another until my husband spoke to them. And delivery driver was extremely rude on first arrival! Second delivery driver was lovely. Sort of ruined my experience considering they’re my local and usually lovely! Doubtful I will be going back due to feeling very on edge after first delivery driver.

We found this little heaven in lockdown & a friend recommendation. Now we are doing the same, you won’t regret eating anything on the menu it’s lovely. All staff are very accommodating and friendly. Thank you Bengal :)

The madras is crazy hot! Usually great but it’s not edible in terms of heat this time. Quality is good as always but something has definitely changed with the prep of the food.. Bhuna for me next time!

Consistently delicious food. Best thing we have ordered all year in lockdown and have now had Bengal Brassarie multiple times. Always yummy, big portions and some huge variety of dishes you don't get that often. A real treat, yum yum yum.

Fantastic curry as always. Really good quality and I’ve never been disappointed with the foot here. Unfortunately it was 25mins late - however it was a busy Friday night and they were apologetic.

Quite simply the worst Indian meal I have ever ordered from here. Lamb shaslik was like rubber and no taste. Sheek kebab poor, prawn puree ridiculously sweet and watery. Sag aloo tasted horrible. Literally had one mouthful and threw it away. Sorry but won't be back..

Food turned up freezing cold and at 24 degrees temperature, my Body is Warmer than that. Restaurant say nothing to do with them as delivery drivers fault and happens a lot. Now in bin as can’t confirm it’s even cooked and can’t take time work. Total health violation and aggressive manager, wouldn’t eat there if raiding in a zombie apocalypse!
