This is a beautiful place, with great staff and amazing food, would visit again, worth having a visit. I ordered the carbonara.

We went to this restaurant for lunch,but it wasn't as good as it usually is.For example I ordered calamari as a starter,but it didn't come with courgettes until l mentioned it. My pizza also wasn't as good as usual.we overheard the new chef?on the phone chasing an order for a restaurant in Shirley,which didn't seem very professional. The credit card receipt was from a company called Q Cafe in Shirley.overall, we were not happy with the experience and won't be returning.

A proper independently-run local Italian restaurant with great home-made pasta. Good cocktails too! We shared crispy zucchini fritti to start, then I had salmon with cauliflower puree & asparagus - perfectly cooked. We had cheese for afters, and free shots of limoncello. We've been here many times and every time it delivers. We've been as a couple, brought family, brought friends, friends have then brought their friends. Each time everyone has loved it. The food is good enough to stand on its own but the service is exceptional. Restaurants that have that 'family feel' are so rare but this restaurant delivers. They welcome you warmly every time and send you away happy and looked after. Would fully recommend to anyone.

Delicious food and superb service, with a clear confidence and pride in what Bella Roma has to offer the customer. My husband declared the lasagne the best he had ever tasted ( and we've got a good 4 decades of eating out behind us!) The best quality ingredients used and beautifully cooked. My special - the charcoal tortelloni with crab meat was gorgeous, and I contemplated, but refrained from licking the plate, as the sauce was so delicious. I also contemplated asking for a bit of bread to mop up the last dregs of sauce, but it's February and I'm trying to keep a check on carb intake! And the grappa with my espresso, is the best I've ever had, smooth and delicious, made by the proprietor's sister in N. Italy.

The food, service and ambiance were without fault. Freshly baked bread, prawns in a delicious creamy sauce, Lamb shank falling off the bone, best tiramisu I’ve had, and creamy amaretto coffee to finish. Leo was so warm and welcoming and the consummate professional. We have found our go-to Italian in London

The Bella Roma is an Oasis in a sea of Chicken and Kebab takeaway shops that infest Lewisham town centre. There are very few restaurants that I could recommend in the area with the unequivocal exception of the Bella Roma. The service is excellent and the food is authentic Italian and delicious. My wife and I have been frequenting this establishment for many years now and hopefully, we will be frequenting it for many years to come. Recently they have increased the menu choices and personally, I love trying new foods. The place is usually packed in the evenings with people who love and appreciate good food and wine. Although it is always best to book they will always do their best to accommodate customers that come in on the off chance there will be room. In the morning or afternoon, there is normally no problem but it’s always best to try and book in the evening. The owners know their wine and there is a very impressive selection and although it is an Italian restaurant, not all the wine is Italian. Our personal favourite is the Primitivo, a delicious red wine. The wine selection is placed on both walls of the restaurant so You can see what is on offer. If you want a pleasant evening in a place that makes you feel appreciated and welcome then I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Our favourite restaurant in Lewisham for a date or Sunday lunch. Consistently great food, service, atmosphere and value. The homemade pasta specials are outstanding. It’s family-owned with a 5 star hygiene rating. Children are welcome and staff are friendly. Remember to book for a roast or in the evening, it’s busy!

It is my favourite restaurant because the food was nice and drinks were even nicer. It is even better than the Shard. I go there every time I can.
