Beer & Buns in City of London, Westminster

Así que tuvimos una noche perversa en este lugar el viernes, llegamos alrededor de las 7, 30 se quedaron mucho más tarde de lo que estábamos planeando. La comida era un poco normal también fría y tomó un tiempo solo queja, el portero era de primera categoría, la chica en forma Djing mantuvo las melodías fluidas y el personal también fue amable. El área de pinball era demasiado ruidosa a veces, los chicos gritaban y mimaban un poco nuestra noche. Pero no lo suficiente como para evitar que regresemos, ¿alguien sabe de alguna promoción de bebidas por favor?

Este lugar es asombroso! Grito al guardia de seguridad Frank que nos hizo sentir tan bienvenidos tan pronto como llegamos, fue encantador estar con nosotros toda la noche. Se sintió más como un bar que como un restaurante y definitivamente obtienes el valor de tu dinero con la oferta ilimitada de bao buns & bevvies. Todo el personal es encantador y amable con muy buen servicio. La comida tardó bastante tiempo pero era absolutamente deliciosa. Definitivamente lo recomendaría para una divertida noche borracha!

Locale molto ben curato, camerieri disponibili, cibo buono e posizione ottima in quanto si trova proprio a Covent Garden. Unica pecca servono porzioni molto piccole e care... Non adatto a chi vuole farsi “un’abbuffata”.

Fuimos a tomar un par de cervezas y comida un jueves por la noche. Fuera de la mesa estaba justo en el medio del área de pie. Era muy ruidoso, tanto la música como las personas que nos rodeaban, demasiado ruidoso para hablar entre ellos. El personal del bar era extremadamente amable, pero nos dieron mal nuestro pedido de comida. Esto causó confusión cuando recogimos nuestra comida del mostrador y el chef / gerente estaba claramente muy estresado. Cuando decidí tomar la comida de todos modos, parte del pedido se había desvanecido en la cocina, pero el chef insistió en que ya la habíamos tomado. Revisé dos veces para asegurarme antes de regresar al mostrador para pedirle al chef que revisara la cocina, en donde me dijo que no le gustaba que estuviera gritando y que encontraba mi tono agresivo. Me disculpé pero le expliqué que no estaba tratando de ser agresivo, sino que era tan fuerte que tenía que gritar para hacerme oír. Encontró la otra mitad de nuestro pedido en la cocina, ahora fría, y me la entregó sin una disculpa. Unos minutos más tarde, mi amigo fue a hablar con él para pedirle que aclarara lo que se había ordenado ya que todavía faltaban partes y dijo que él también fue grosero con él. Estoy seguro de que este es un lugar bastante agradable para comer y beber, pero no volveremos a molestarnos. Realmente no estoy acostumbrado a que me traten así en un restaurante.

Personal amable, gran ambiente! Fui atendido por el encantador Tai que hizo todo lo posible para satisfacer mis necesidades menos de lo normal. ¡Todo el personal fue atento y sorprendente! Gracias, gran experiencia. ?

Go here. Get the wings! Great venue at a great price. I went for Korean hot which were great. I’d recommend extra napkins

Stuck in London after our train was cancelled stayed in Hackney, made us great cocktails lent us their phone charger overnight. Just great people and a really nice place

Smallish venue, very noisy with background noise. Had better korean food, had better drinks, reasonably priced for area but overall average

I came here with my friend for a catch up for food and drinks and it was great! The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was so good. It was just such a chilled atmosphere and also great that it offers student discount!

Much preferred to the usual "city pubs" in the vicinity. Happy hour before 7pm is great value. Good selection of Japanese beers, and the bar food is super. Generally a nice crowd with a good mix of people. Great friendly staff.

I visited Beer & Buns keen to satisfy my craving for steamed buns; one of my favourite treats! Their menu was very tempting, and I could have easily ordered any of the buns on offer and been satisfied! Unfortunately, as I visited alone and with a limited hunger, I settled on ordering two with a side, and promised myself a visit in the future to work my way through the rest of the menu! The bar is upstairs is a dark, atmospheric setting. There are chalk drawings over the walls and in the place of single tables are barrels and stools. It has a stylish, close feel to it that seems perfect for eating and drinking with friends. I was given a bowl of popcorn while I checked over the menu. I ordered the halloumi and soft shell crab buns with a side of sweet potato fries. You order at the bar, where I encountered the only downside of my visit. The man who took my order was quite rude, but fortunately he was the only person I encountered who was unprofessional as the man who gave me my finished order was very pleasant. It took very little time for my food to be prepared. You're given a device that vibrates when your order is ready, which you then pick up yourself from the bar. Both buns were excellent! The halloumi was a good portion, fried and served with salad leaves, and both buns were perfectly soft and pillowy. The softshell crab was something else! It was a challenge to eat, but totally delicious and one I'd order again in a second! The sweet potato fries were also great, as was the sriracha mayo which was the perfect companion! If it wasn't for the bad service I received from one of the barmen, which made me feel uncomfortable, I would have rated Beer & Buns 5/5. The food is excellent, the venue is comfortable and perfect for groups. I'm eager to return and try something else, as the menu is excellent!

Where to start with what I loved about Beer & Buns. A very funky looking bar, really dig the aesthetic, feels like a well-kept secret the way it's tucked away upstairs and quite inconspicuous from outside. I was greeted by one of the friendliest bouncers I've ever met. Shortly afterwards the rest of our group arrived and we proceeded to dig into the bar's range of Japanese beers, cocktails, and food. The menu is quite extensive, certainly unlike anything I've seen in London.The food was really excellent - we'd never had hirata buns before, the bread was fluffy and full of flavour, and the fillings were delicious without exception. The sides were very good as well, especially the fries drenched in cheese and Korean BBQ sauce. Prices were pretty reasonable for the food, and in terms of drink, about what you'd expect for such a niche pub in the Shoreditch area. Then we moved onto the main thing that drew me to the place originally - the free to use foosball table. I'm a decent (definitely amateur, mind!) table footballer - the table is in very good condition, a couple of the poles could do with some WD40 but I've seen much worse. Everyone had a blast, even those less into the game than myself, and as the evening went on another group challenged us to a game! Long story short, everyone involved was friendly... but competitive. Can't emphasise enough how much fun we had. Very little to criticise - it was quite hot but this was on the day when the thunderstorms arrived following 6 weeks of heatwave, so what can you do. There was also a bizarre thing where the Oni beer I was enjoying had the barrel changed, and the staff apparently said "it's more of an ale now..." No idea how that works, but the new beer was pretty good too so no complaints. I'll conclude this gushing review by complimenting the music choice as well, if you like a bit of classic 60s/70s rock you're in luck - it felt like they'd stolen one of my playlists. Overall we had an absolute whale of a time - before going I was a bit concerned from other reviews that said Beer & Buns is not as good as it used to be. All I can say to that is, it must have one hell of a bar back then! Loved it and will definitely be back.

I could say alot of great things about this place, the foods great the bar staff are great but the guy that deserves a shout out is their security guy, Thomas he's a great guy, modest guy absolute legend!

Considering the location the menu is really well priced when it comes to food. Drinks are on the expensive side, however you can get a nice amount of food for under £10. The soft shelled crab is something to behold.

I was really looking forward to trying this place. Came here on a Thursday night, ordered a few drinks and food off the menu. 1 hour later we were still waiting for our food!!! The staff at the bar were not apologetic at all which made it even worse. We ended up leaving on an empty stomach because I had a booking at another place which I even had to push back!! It’s extremely loud inside and very hot! I won’t be recommending or going back to this place anytime soon! I can't rate this place or even upload any pictures because I didn’t even get to eat my order! A 1 hour wait for food is outrageous!!
