Disgusting service, refused and turned away by a rude ignorant member of staff at the door, claiming bookings only Sunday 16/06/24. 1. they had bookings available at the time. 2. it was empty & clearly not fully booked 3. the jobsworth is costing the place money. (gone downhill) 4. no notice of any of the above before showing up, they just pick and choose who they can be bothered to let in on the day like a circus. appears good value for money, just like the staff, you get what you pay for! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

What a lovely time I had at Woolwich Beefeater. I was very nicely greeted by a young man believe called Steve - who was very accommodating in all my needs, had great recommendations on what's good to eat. Compliments to the chefs 1 in which made a great Smothered chicken and 2 to who made the best cheesecake I have ever had - definitely worth the money. Would 100% recommend and revisit.

My partner and I ate at the Beefeater in Woolwich for breakfast for three mornings in March. We prebooked our tables a few days prior to ensure we would be able to eat On all three occasions we arrived no later than 20 minutes; as per their policy, tables are released after 15 minutes. On a Saturday morning, there was a notice on the door stating "Bookings Only" - we were told (quite abruptly) that as we were 20 minutes late, the server would need to see if there was a table available for us. I'm not sure how this works considering they weren't allowing walk-ins, so the table would have still been available.. Despite this unnecessary drama we were seated I opted for the continental breakfast whereas my partner opted for the full breakfast option. We paid just over £17 each day Each morning, there were various items missing from the continental section: two types of croissants, yoghurts, granola etc, so your options for breakfast became a bit limited. Bearing in mind the breakfast is "unlimited" you can't make much use of this. I overheard someone asking for the croissants to be restocked and they had to wait 15 minutes. On one occasion there wasn't any water or orange juice, and quite often there weren't any plates or bowls In addition to the kitchen staff there were only two members of floor staff trying to seat customers, clear tables and keep on top of restocking the continental breakfast options. There is clearly a need for more staff! If the food was stocked to a satisfactory level I would have rated higher, however it is quite difficult to eat breakfast when there simply isn't food available, never mind an "unlimited" breakfast especially considering the prices Unfortunately I wouldn't eat here again for breakfast

Truly back to its best again. We had been worried that things were slipping here before Christmas. Having said that we have eaten here now three times since Christmas and the food, service and staff have been superb. We arrived on Monday evening at 6:30pm and it was brilliant to see Martyn back working at Farnham. He had left just before Christmas and many customers were so sorry to see him go. Now he is back and along with David form a terrific partnership, which we and many others really appreciate and enjoy. On this occasion it was my wives birthday and our sons and partners joined us and the six of us had a really memorable evening. The staff including the chef even came out with a blueberry muffin with a single candle in it singing happy birthday to her. This seemed to be the theme for the night as we saw at least four other groups experience the very same thing. Mee Yee was our waitress this time and she is so efficient and friendly. If you have never been before you will find a superb large car park to the rear but ensure you register your car reg at the check in desk upon arrival. Pricing is excellent and realistic. Service charge is not included and is down to the discretion of the customer to decide on how much he/she wants to give. Cant wait for our next visit. Thank you all for making my wife's evening so special she really did enjoy it, as did we all.

The positives first... two of the three servers were really polite and friendly. Garlic mushroom starter was very palatable. Then there is the rest of the experience: It started with the car park. Beafeater website says that they have a private onsite car park... what they don't say is that they charge £1.10 per hour and you have to decide how long up front. I've never been to a restaurant who provides their own car park and CHARGES customers before... a new low. The calamari starter was nothing short of an oi l soaked disaster. It was formed of some very small pieces of calamari with a huge coating of oily/overcooked batter. The colouring of the food similar to home frying in year old cheep deep frying oil. The garlic flat bread was lacking anything except being extremely deflatedly flat. If it wasn't called garlic bread on the menu then I wouldn't have known it had garlic in it. Also it is rediculously over priced for what ultimately looks to be the size of 2 slices of bread each cut in half. We both ordered steaks, mine blue - which the server said the chef may actually just refuse to cook in this way and in which case I would get it cooked how he wanted it instead. I was somewhat taken aback by this comment and asked the server to check with the chef first. The server was, repeated throughout the stay, more than happy to check first. After receiving confirmation from the kitchen that I could have food cooked in a means to which I would appreciate, I went forward with my order. When the food turned up, I was pleasently surprised that it was indeed, very nearly, a blue steak. Much closer than most other Beafeters have delivered upon! The only issue was, it was barely warm on the outside (completely expect the inside to be not at all warm of course). Thinking that the chef had just put it on the counter while my other half's steak was being cooked well-done, I just put it down to one of those things. The steak itself, whilst having any form of spice being omitted, was actually not too bad. After finishing, I asked the other half how her food was, only to find out her's was shipped stone cold... so it wasn't just poor time management after all. She didn't want to cause a fuss so didn't tell me! However, heat was not the main issue with her sirloin steak, it was the fact that over 20% of the steak was fat. This was pointed out to the server (as the other half doesn't eat fat) and she was quite shocked... but that's as far anything happened... it was a case of shrug and walk. So we wrapped up with the bill. No dessert because actually the food was very filling even if somewhat dubious. Grabbed the server who said they would sort the bill. Ten minutes passed and we flagged the server down again who seemed shocked the bill hadn't appeared. Ten minutes again went by when again we had to flag that we were still waiting to pay... the server then went and immediately returned with the bill and walked away. It took another 15 minutes of waiting and flagging to get somebody to them come over with a card machine to actually take our payment and let us leave. Even then the chaos didn't end... it turned out that the server had skilled the tip screen and therefore it wouldn't let us enter the tip, when requested to put a tip in the machine, we received a cold shoulder, and the new server returned a few minutes later and just dumped the machine on the table and let us complete our transaction. This third server was unprofessional and let the team down as the keeper uppers of at least a human friendly attendance for our first ever time at this Beefeater. Even with all of the above, a reader would think that it's pretty bad but couldn't be any worse... unless they would make the same mistake of entering the male toilets! The floor has a large tile missing (trip hazard) which I nearly stacked it on. The urinals are missing the filter covers, there's a large whole in the wall for some odd reason, the seated toilet light doesn't work, there's graffity on the wall (something easily managable in a controlled establishment) and very oddly, there's a toilet brush just dumped on the floor with no brush holder... they just let it sit there next to the loo. I do have the customary photos of the evening but they are on my mobile... I may upload at some point to show just how the food/establishment is.

We booked a table for a Sunday roast dinner, we traveled to Woolwich for our booking. We had just got off the train and were a few mins away when we got a phone call to say they had ran out of roast dinners..... very disappointing, if they would have contacted earlier we could have made alternative plans. I do not recommend booking as the reservation may not happen.

I honestly don’t know where to begin but I’ll start with something positive - the servers were all very welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately, they also seemed oblivious to the fact that the food they were placing in front of us was completely inedible. Let’s start at the very beginning with the starters - “Cheddar, Mozzarella & Emmental Cheese Fondue with balsamic onion confit and toasted ciabatta”, which sounds lovely in theory but in reality was a tiny bowl of melted cheese smothered in so much of the onion relish that there was no choice other than to eat it whilst trying to get a little of the tasteless cheese sauce onto a piece of the dried up bread, which tasted like it had been prepared the day before and rather than being toasted was perhaps, at best, slightly warmed in an oven and left overnight. Our friend had the pate which, even once given bread which we had to ask for, was equally inedible. The main courses came with incinerated and minuscule blackened potatoes, which were indistinguishable from what we guessed might have been a tiny ball of stuffing, alongside an equally overcooked burnt offering of parsnip and cleverly undercooked carrots and brussel sprouts, that you couldn’t even get your fork into. This, the menu declared was “all the trimmings” to accompany our GARDEN GOURMET® SensationalTM Chicken-Style Fillet. There was nothing gourmet or sensational about this meal and the dried up vegetarian fillet, equalled in its sadness by our friend’s singular slice of dried up turkey, had no hope of salvation because apparently they’d run out of vegan gravy - bearing in mind that this was not only 2pm but that we’d preordered our meals (a month in advance) so that, I’d assumed, they would have all the ingredients needed to provide what we’d ordered. I can barely be bothered to even mention desserts but the cheeseboard looked nice, despite having only one type of biscuit and the ghost of Christmas onion relish, and the Christmas pudding being the size of a cat’s eyeball. We tried but failed to eat these with any relish at all. We’d all given up hope, at this stage, and having already politely indicated that the main course had been appalling, with only the offer of a similarly appalling replacement, which we declined, we decided it was best just to leave. What I couldn’t fathom was that other diners seemed to be quite happy with this low quality offering, although not all, since I did observe other full plates being taken away from tables. As I said at the beginning, the servers were pleasant enough but the kitchen staff clearly take no pride in providing food that is of any reasonable quality or that has been cooked with any level of care. As a server, I would be genuinely embarrassed to place food of this quality in front of paying customers, but when mentioning our dissatisfaction, we were met with confusion as to why we were less than impressed with what should have been a pleasant Christmas meal. So, this was our Christmas dinner, costing over £60 per head, and it was an utterly depressing experience that would have completely spoiled our day, had we not all agreed that going home for some decent food and a strong drink would salvage things.
