Beatties Fish & Chip Shop in Belfast

Overall, Beatties is a great place the products are of good quality,But there’s one the girl at the reception speaks quite rudely. Her tone and attitude don’t match the otherwise pleasant vibe of the shop. It would really help if she worked on her communication and approach towards customers. A little courtesy goes a long way.

Absolutely shocking food was sent by the company & was not delivered….. now marked as delivered - no code given & no food delivered — think twice before ordering!

Incredibly disappointing. Went to the counter to order. The person stood behind the counter unit and spoke to me, I never saw her face until the food was plated up, which i thought was unfriendly and very strange. I wanted to sit in so when the food was ready, I had to ask them to put it on a plate instead of wrapped to go. I asked for a battered cod and pastie. The pastie was nice as expected hence the 2 stars. The fish was not cod and I've no idea what it was. There was hardly any fish and the batter was burnt and inedible at the ends - as seen in the pictures. It had been overcooked. Incredibly disappointed as I had been looking forward to a wee fish and pastie all week. Loved going to Beatties on the Shankill as a kid, it was a real treat and the service was always great. Not sure if this Beatties is related to the Shankill one but the whole experience was a real let down and I won't be back. Been here once or twice before and the gentleman behind the counter is normally friendly and the food great. Don't know what has happened.

I went in for take away at around 12noon. Fish & chips meal deal, £12. Far too many crispy ends in the chip (odd for so early in the day) and the fish fillet was too small inside the batter, which was spongy but not unpleasant. To be honest I ate the fillet and the best of the chips. The dog got the rest. I wouldn’t rush back. Only went cause I read the reviews but my food wasn’t great.

Chicken goujons are abysmal 3 normal sized ones and 3 burnt tiny one no point in them even being there !

Stick a round of bread in the toaster. You'll enjoy it more

Worst chippy I have ever had, fish supper was absolutely tiny and the chips were all stuck to the wrapping, soggy and in-edible. Chicken goujons were horrible, the regular chip was soggy and stuck to the paper too. Horrible, horrible avoid.

Called in last night 6.45pm my cousin was over from across the water , ordered Christmas chip and a fish …. £16 I’ve never been so embarrassed upon opening them !!! Absolute rubbish

Chips tasted like they had been sitting a while and then recorded... gravy was very watery and greasy.

I think I've ordered 5 times, 2 out of 5 times it's been a wrong order. That's a 60% chance to get what you ordered. When you order a cheeseburger, what should be on the burger?

I ordered 2 super chips and got 2 gravy chips. i know the concept is similar but it's not quite the same thing. was a little disappointed about that. gravy chip = chips and beef gravy. superchip = peppery chicken gravy and chips.

Welcome to the best fish and chip shop in belfast. I do not own nor I related to the owners. I literally e approx 4miles from this shop and need to pass at least four other chip shops to get to it but would go nowhere else. Portion size is brilliant quality and taste of fish superb and staff cook everything as you request it lightly cooked, well done etc. Fish battered sausage and onion rings are a must try and first class for flavour and you can ring your order in and collect it a great little jewel on the shankill which stands apart from all the rest. Trust me.

Friendly environment, clean but the fish was like a concrete no offense and it wasn't fresh. For £12 fish and chips with fanta and gravy sauce? It was my first time to dine in.

I was shocked how the young girl working there shouted at customers. Two young boys (estimated age 12) came in for chips and she barked at them to “not make a mess” she also wanted to push them out the door although the place wasn’t due to close for another 45 minutes. No please, no thank you. Don’t go there for anything remotely “ambient” wonder does the owner know or care how the staff are running the place. Shocking .. The food was also pretty poor..just sayin’ that here- don’t bother letting the staff know that if ya want to get out alive though

got fish instead of fish bites but basically same thing so not bothered! Chips fish sauce all so good just the paper was stuck and ripped my fish lol still overall amazing!

Just eat driver took 40 minutes from accepting delivery to actually picking up the food so it was almost inedible. Not beatties fault but justeat
