A crowd of us went to drag bingo, and it was just hilarious start to finish. The food and cocktails were delicious, the staff are friendly and provided a great service

Fuimos a la pintura y bebimos por mis hermanas. Todos tuvimos el mejor tiempo. Un montón de prosecco, cócteles y platos de tapas. Pintamos un cuadro del muelle y H&W desde una pantalla en lienzo. Entonces se eligió un ganador. El personal era muy amable y servicial. Sin duda lo volveríamos a hacer.

Had the most amazing time yesterday for my sister's hen. Mal was so helpful and informative when organising the events. We did the Murder mystery dinner and the Drag boogie bingo. Jim the actor for the Murder mystery was so funny, he started the night with a bang and it just got better and better from there. The food was lovely and the staff was so friendly. For hen parties I can't recommend them highly enough.

We had a wonderful time yesterday for afternoon tea, it was absolutely amazing, the food & drinks were perfect. Big shout out to Lisa-Marie who was amazing and couldn’t do enough for us, she was outstanding and an absolute credit to you. Thank you so much. Can’t wait to go back xo

This place doesn't respond to emails or facebook messages for bookings within a reasonable time, and when you chase them again weeks later, they tell you the slot you want is gone and you can only share karaoke with another group. I thought my case was just bad luck but it happened to my friend when they tried to book too, no response on facebook or through the email contact form. Cocktails are also watered down and overly sugary edit as they responded with further questions: we attended months ago when we were told we had to share with another group, they took over a week to respond to the initial contact form and just didn't follow up at all in December when my friend took interest in it for their birthday

Dined here for the 1st time as going to the Waterfront and it's only a 5 minute walk. Food was delicious, Goats cheese fritters with apple chutney, followed by Salmon and caramelised potatoes and vegetables, both lovely and fresh and just a bit different 😋 Will definitely be back. Just lacking a bit of atmosphere as we were there early as going to the matinée, otherwise all good

We attended here at the weekend for a 30th birthday party as a group of 13 and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. As you can see from the attached photo we had booked for bottomless brunch from 2:30pm til 4pm and then karaoke from 4pm with cocktail trees included. Private karaoke was requested via phonecall and was confirmed by Keli over the phone. I had called the venue the day before to see if we could set up some decorations. I assume I spoke to Mal, the owner, as the phone was answered with ‘Hello’ and nothing further. I confirmed I was speaking to someone at the river rooms and asked would it be possible to set up some decorations before, he said if we arrived 15 minutes before the booking that it would be no problem to put up some decorations. Some of our party arrived at 20 past and were told that our table was not ready and that they were running behind. We were finally seated 15-20 minutes after our booked time of 2:30pm at two tables of different heights pushed together and quickly put up some decorations while the birthday girl waited upstairs. Upon being seated we were given the choice of 3 cocktails, which didn’t include daiquiris and a aperol spritzes as advertised, and were served in “cocktail trees” (drink dispensers) which again was not advertised as we were expecting to be able to order our own cocktails during brunch. The owner then came down and put karaoke on straight away explained how to work the system and nothing further. When one of our party said that karaoke was meant to be after the brunch the bar staff told us it was up to the boss and it would be turned off in 90 minutes so to make the most of it! 90 minutes later the boss reappeared turned off the karaoke system and then said it was a connection issue and he would put it back on when it was fixed….i find this particularly appalling as I could see the laptop behind the bar and watched him turn it off. A member of our party complained to the bar staff and was told that she would need to speak to the boss but couldn’t because he was on a boat? I went to complain to the bar staff and was informed he would go get the boss, the staff member returned 10 minutes later without the boss and the boss didn’t come to speak to me for the rest of our time there. The “cocktail trees” were removed from our tables at around 4/half 4 and we we were told that was it until I showed them the email that stated we had booked more and they then refilled them and returned them. The food was average, prawns cooked well, but the portions were minuscule, 3 marble sized balls of goats cheese and 3 fried slices of pickles as an example. A member of our party didn’t receive one of her dishes and had to remind the staff twice before it was served to her. As stated in a previous review from a member of our party we had requested a final amount to be paid on the day as we were splitting it between 12 people for there then to be an additional £50 service charge placed on the bill for incredibly poor service especially by the owner himself is to be quite frank laughable. I would never normally begrudge a service charge as hospitality staff work incredibly hard but for this not to be mentioned in any communications especially when we requested information regarding the final amount to be paid is an oversight on the venues part. I understand that this charge was refunded after it had been disputed but given the amount of times our party had complained during our time there I think the fact it was included at all is ridiculous. In regards to the private karaoke room, the individual who booked it had got this confirmation over the phone that it was a private room but this was not the case. When this was raised to the owner the member of our party stated she had no proof as the confirmation was provided verbally and the owner said he understood and that should have never been promised to us on a Saturday. I would not recommend this venue and package to anyone. I think it’s disgraceful to advertise as a place for hen dos ect and treat young women like idiots.

We were informed in advance that we could access the room at 2:15 PM to decorate. However, upon our arrival, we were told to wait upstairs as the room wasn’t ready, and they had been running behind all day. At 2:45 PM, we were finally allowed downstairs to quickly decorate while the birthday girl waited upstairs. We were told that because we were late getting our table, we would be granted an extra 15 minutes at the end of our session and that our bottomless brunch would now start. However, as soon as we sat down, the bar staff started the karaoke. When we mentioned that the bottomless brunch was supposed to last until 4 PM before karaoke began, the barman replied that the boss had started it, and there was nothing he could do. He informed us that we only had 90 minutes to sing, and then the karaoke would be switched off. The cocktails tasted mostly like orange juice and ice, and the bar was not private; another group was present and could hear us singing karaoke. We had contacted them via email prior to our arrival to get a final price, as we were splitting the cost among 12 people. While we received a confirmed price via email prior to attending, we were shocked to find an additional £50 service charge upon payment. It's unclear what 'service' this charge covered, as the service we received was atrocious. Furthermore, we were asked to leave 5 minutes before our scheduled end time because the next group was arriving and they needed the table. This was frustrating, especially since we had been told earlier that we would have extra time due to their delays. Overall, we experienced terrible service, tasteless cocktails, and small plates of average food. For around £50 per person, we expected much better. This place has great potential but needs significant improvements in several areas!

Staff can't do enough for you- they are great. Food is just alright. Atmosphere too loud, too noisy and the music is questionable. Won't be back as prefer a more chilled, calm environment personally.

Fue por el brunch de Willy wonka y estaba muy decepcionado. Había un hombre disfrazado de Willy wonka que nunca había visto ninguna de las películas 😂 . Nos sirvieron un cóctel en cuanto nos sentamos y luego vino una caja de bocadillos y bollos. Había 4 dedos de sándwich cada uno que eran principalmente mayonesa de huevo, un poco de queso y un dedo con jamón! Los bollos estaban bien, macetas de Jane que habían sido rellenadas y crema mezclada con colorante azul. También nos presentaron una rueda de ferris de golosinas dulces. 2 mitades de horneado en bandeja cortadas en dos, 3 fresas entre 2 personas , una cosa tipo mousse/jalea hinchable blanca no comestible muy extraña y un pastel de hadas seco sin sabor . Luego nos dieron otro cóctel muy pequeño en forma de hongo que se hizo con leche de chocolate yahoo y un poco de aguardiente desconocido. Se anunciaba que estaba agotado, pero había un montón de mesas vacías. No había ambiente ni entretenimiento. Por 30 libras por cabeza era extremadamente pobre. El personal era amable

Fuimos por el brunch sin fondo, muy impresionados con la decoración y el ambiente, buena música, nos encantó el baño de fotos y chicas estaba bien decorado. Éramos los únicos allí, que era increíble, Darra era nuestro servidor y era tan amable, hizo cócteles increíbles y conversó con nosotros. Los cócteles eran buenos y no se regaron como la mayoría de las otras cosas de brunch sin fondo y la comida que conseguimos era hermosa, gran precio a 35 libras por 90 minutos sin fondo y siempre estábamos recargados para las bebidas, como otras personas mencionaron que había un cargo de servicio del 10% que era molesto como solo éramos 3 de nosotros, pero nuestro servicio era bueno, así que lo pagamos. Sería mejor si pudiéramos reservar en línea, volveremos!

Mi trabajo tuvo una noche de personal aquí, y reservó la cena, el bingo y el karaoke. El lugar fue decorado Alicia en el país de las maravillas temática. La comida estaba bien, pedí el inicio de la seta que era un poco gomosa y no tenía mucho hongo. El plato principal de pescado y patatas fritas era encantador. El karaoke y el bingo estaban en una habitación separada y era bueno. Lo recomendaría si usted está buscando algo fácil y una actividad basada en la noche.

Went into this lovely restaurant to have dinner we had the most amazing meal. I would recommend coming here the food is not too expensive and the food portions are really big you get a lot for what you pay for. The staff are very polite and very helpful they will do anything for you .

Party of 6 out for food and a couple of drinks before heading to Custom House Square. Perfect location not too far away. Menu was perfect for me also, not too many choices always a plus for me as you make your mind up quicker. Staff very helpful. Great place for groups.

We had requested for Private karaoke to arrive and another group in the same session making it near impossible for our group to get a turn! Still awaiting a week later to not even have as much as an apology from an email sent to make them aware this happened never mind any sort of compensation! Won’t be back

Brilliant bottomless brunch yesterday at the River Rooms Belfast, well worth it for excellent food and drinks and outstanding very attentive service. Loved how the bill was served. I love it here and have been many times for different events, even have my birthday party booked here in a few weeks, but was first time for my friends who also loved it and theoughly enjoyed it and said it was much better brunch than some other local well known brunch venues. Definitely recommend and will be back again ourselves with more friends ❤️❤️❤️

Was there recently for a hen party, we paid £60pp. It was not good value for money, they even “forgot” that they were meant to be serving us Tapas and have only offered £5pp refund to make up for the lack of food. Wouldn’t recommend. *Edit based on reply from owner - I didn’t state during my review that I expected a bottomless brunch, I was just attending the hen party. From what I experienced, it was not worth £60pp.

We went for lunch (7 people) on Easter Sunday peter rabbit was there and my granddaughter loved that some lovely photos for the memory box. Great choice of starters soup, goats cheese, mushroom,chicken.everyone cleared their plate. Mains were delicious I opted for the steak it was cooked perfectly for me (med), there was beer battered cod, pasta burgers and chicken the list goes on can’t to much to remember. My mum had a cosmopolitan with a bubble on top, when poked the smoke came out.really cool . I love quirky restaurants like this and will certainly be bk as it was quite reasonable too.

Been here twice and was amazing both times! Daire the barman was fantastic brill service and so friendly! Atmosphere was fantastic would 100% recommend based on service alone 😄😄

The restaurant feels dated and the decor is a bit mismatched. The meal and service was good but nothing special.

Good food and nice staff, they have a jar on the counter for tips, which is fine as I would always tip, but very annoyed when checked my receipt to discover that they had charged a service charge of 10%, had I known I wouldn’t have tipped. Put us right off will not be back.

The presentation and taste of the food was unmatched, cocktails were tasty, the staff were nice and live music in the restaurant set the vibe. I would recommend this place and I will be back.

Staff christmas do! Its fun and the ambiance is great!

My two daughters and I had the most delicious 3 - course Christmas meal and cocktails here on Sat 9th December 2023 before going wedding dress shopping. The staff were lovely and very attentive while the restaurant, itself, was subtly festive. We felt we had discovered a hidden gem and would highly recommend the River Rooms to anyone looking for a special place to relax and enjoy superb food.

The staff could not have been more helpful, organised a work Christmas dinner here and everyone was delighted with the food choice, lovely location near the river Lagan, beautiful decor inside, I will definitely be back

Had a great night out for Xmas dinner on Sat 2nd Dec at River Rooms. Food was fabulous, and Maureen and her staff made sure we were all looked after. A great nights craic, and I would highly recommend it for a night out. Well worth a visit.

Fabulous restaurant. Had our work Christmas lunch here. Out of our party of 16, every single one of us were really happy with the food and was such a good price too. Staff were great also. Went to the cocktail bar downstairs afterwards, quirky little spot with a karaoke booth which went down well with the tipsy work colleagues. Overall we couldn't be happier and will definitely return. Was there for a Christmas meal. The food was OK, but I have been to better Christmas dinners elsewhere. We were part of a large group, so that definitely impacted the service despite knowing well in advance that such a large group was attending. The staff was lively and all smiles, so that was a nice treat. Someone did complain about the radiator not being on, but they did not switch it on till the end. Overall, it's pretty ok, but I might not go here again in a large group setting.

This was my first visit to the River rooms. The staff were very welcoming. We chose from the set/pre theatre menu. The food was excellent and good sized portions and also included an excellent cocktail. I will definitely book again and look forward to trying their afternoon tea! Would certainly recommend to others for quality, service and value for money!

My friend had her birthday here last week and it was great craic. Karaoke was so much fun and a lovely wee place with cute decor. Only issue which was small was that we were told we'd get tapas and what we got was chicken wings, cocktail sausages and chips. Nothing wrong with that but maybe advertise as finger food not tapas? Apart from that though we had a great night and would go back for sure.

Dirty glasses , bar in event room was not presented well, as in untidy and just thrown together, no beer on tap! only one tap in the event room if it did work and alcohal choice was junk all commercial cheap rubbish unfortunately

We were for the waterfront and everywhere was booked. We just stumbled upon the river rooms. They said they were busy and looked to see if they could fit us in. We said we were eating and going. They got us squeezed in. Staff where so friendly. Food was amazing 😍 I definitely go for the afternoon tea the next time I am in Belfast! We had goats cheese starter and the mushroom pasta with garlic cubes. With a long Island tea.

Do not book the drag brunch. We booked a group of 4 for birthday you get one tower of cocktails even though it said towers. When we tried to explain to management what plural word was he basically said noone would come if it said one tower. He also didn't get false advertisement. Drag act was amazing. For 1 hr 30 pounds is alot never again save your money. Update As you can see below, the rudiness of the reply yet took you over a week. I'm not arguing with someone who clearly lacks the intelligence or charm to run a business. I didn't have to write this review to be fair. However, since you have tried to come for me, I will contact the right channels .Also, the other guests spoke to us and made sure we knew we wasn't being ripped off. They also felt shamed in to paying tip because you're a horrible individual 😒 2 cocktails is laughable 1 squeezed out, and it tasted like juice. Good joke, though

Brought my dad and sister here for lunch and it was absolutely amazing! The food was brilliant and tasty, the service was quick and efficient and they were very helpful and understanding when we explained the types of food my dad and sister couldn't eat due to intolerances/allergies. The cocktails were the best I've ever had and can't wait to get back to try more of the menu!

Paid over the odds for a cocktail tower (between4) which was essentially a glass of juice, and at 30pp for 1 hour which was meant to be 2, no extra cocktail as advertised, and rude man that we had to deal with made it even worse. If I could rate it a zero I would. Drag artist was amazing but the venue let it all down

Style over substance I'm afraid. Positives the drag act and the food was tasty however was cold. However if you expect a full game of bingo with prizes be warned. You play for one line and two lines prize is a shot or cocktail for two lines. Then it ends. The service was appalling! Our table nor set up when the others were no one came to see how everything was. The cocktail towers as advertised are not in fact towers you get one tower and get 1.5 drinks out of it. Not worth the £30 paid. I would have been happy to pay £15. When we discussed our concerns we were told no one else has complained and he was shocked. We stated we had checked the reviews once we realised the service and cost was not as advertised. He then walked away. Dont go as you will be left out of pocket.

Diabolical service. For a place that is hen party orientated we got our decorations confiscated and we’re told to be quiet. The woman in the striped blue shirt with blonde hair was so unpleasant to deal with. If she smiled she would’ve died. Foods nice but for the price it wasn’t worth it. £36 service charge. Will 100% not be back. - As per your reply I can’t believe you’re accusing me of lying. The item was pulled out of my sisters hand and thrown into the store. If we weren’t forced to pay the charge why were we asked? We had to ask for our teapots to be refilled. For the quality and quantity it was daylight robbery. I’m entitled to give my honest review. The fact you can’t take constructive criticism isn’t good for business.

Hired the room for a stag "portrait" afternoon & it didn't disappoint. Had the 1st floor to ourselves with bar staff on hand to open us up a tab. Drinks were very well priced & everyone really happy to help. Thank you

OMG had the most amazing time @ the River Rooms for my sister's Hen party. We choose the cheeky Butler prosecco reception for fun and games, followed by the murder mystery dinner, and then downstairs for dancing and karaoke. The Bride woke up the next morning wanting to do it all over again, and each of the hens have messaged to say that it was the best Hen Party they have ever been to! Mal and Maureen are just brilliant and have the most friendly staff, who go above and beyond to ensure everyone has a great time. There are so many activities to choose from for any party, or Hen in our case. Just can't recommend Highly enough ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Highly recommned cloud 9 at the river rooms, we booked the tipsy tea party with cheeky butler for a hen weekend, the room atmosphere was surreal and the cocktails and food was superb. Great value for money. Staff where lovely, friendly and very helpful and catered for gluten free also.

Went here for a hen do, karaoke and cocktails downstairs, the staff were very friendly & made our night! Would absolutely reccomend.

If you enjoy high quality food this is not the place for afternoon tea. Below standard at best. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Spend the extra and get decent food that you'll enjoy. This was all about the booze.

We booked for Tipsy Tea, which was afternoon tea with booze. Choice of either strawberry daiquiri or Passion Fruit Martini alongside a pot between the four of us of prosecco. The food wasn't of the standard I expected for afternoon tea. Having been to multiple across Belfast this one was perhaps the most disappointing. The warm food was a miniature soup, which admittedly was the nicest part and a bowl of cocktails sausages. Then out came the tiered food, I was looking forward to this part as I love the scones and beautiful deserrts part of an afternoon tea. Sadly what we recieved did not live up to expectations. The scones were OK, bit soggy from having been dinged in the microwave, however the most disappointing part was the "deserts". The top tier normally reserved for beautifully delicate deserts and delights was simply a plate of shop bought sweets. The plate had flumps, matchsticks, after eights, a Mr Kipling angel slice cut into four, sweets and four tiny buns that were from a packet. We booked this afternoon tea for a birthday and really wish we had have went somewhere else as I felt bad for the birthday girl who didn't get the afternoon tea she deserved! If you're looking for a very basic afternoon tea with little thought that goes into the food then River Rooms is your place. If you want to treat someone special to a nice afternoon tea, pay the extra £10 and go somewhere else.

Myself and 3 friends were looking to book a long awaited catch up, we thought we woukd try somewhere new and saw the Tipsy tea party advert on their fb page. It was advertised as £25 pp to include a large teapot of prosecco and the usual sandwiches etc. Yay, we were sold! On arrival, there was already 1 teapot of prosecco on the table.. I assumed more would follow as in the advert 1 pp. Nope, I was told it was 1 between us all! 1 of my friends had to cancel because of sickness, so if she was there was that going to still be 1 pot among 4?? The food itself was ok, nothing over exciting, and ab odd number of sandwiches, meaning one of us went with less. The scones were fine.... I was very disappointed as this was my idea. I contacted the River Rooms the day after asking about false representation of their advert. I have got nowhere, only to be told what do I expect in this current climate. Not the right attitude to encourage me or my friends back, or indeed recommend anyone else

Brilliant I've been here a couple of times now. A great venue for a girls night out. Food is lovely and Cloud Nine bar very intimate and great for a small crowd. Staff friendly and welcoming. Will def be back.

A group of 9 of us went on Sunday to drag boogie bingo. Absolute waste of money . Drag queen was there for 40 mins an that included the actual bingo . The provided cocktail was made for us getting there so no choice in what we got and so little alcohol in it we couldn't taste it .. after drag act they brought food which I can only describe as ridiculous! 9 people an we were given 2 bird cages with 3 side plates of food in each ... wouldn't have been enough food for 5 people let alone 9 .. no atmosphere at all and no entertainment.. meant to be on from 2 clock till 7 .. we left at 4 it was so bad .. definitely not value for money..would not recommend at all .. there wasn't £20 worth of food and to be charged £30 a head is not good enough 😡😡 on another note the place is beautiful and a lot of thought has went into decor ..

We were here last night for tipsy tea and was honestly incredible. It was fantastic value. Mini soups, sandwiches, scones , cakes, sausages. There was so much food a good choice of cocktails and the service was fantastic. They even catered last minute to our vegetarian friend with no hesitance. Wee touches like the fancy cocktails and getting some shots with our bill really added to the experience. Definitely will be back and have already recommended to my friends!

We ate as a group here recently and as such had to preorder. I had an allergy they said they had no prob accommodating and one of the group was a vegetarian. The vegetarian was served a starter with meat. I was also served a dish with said allergy when I queried mine was a allergy free one the dip was taken from my plate and I was told it is now. When my main arrived it also had said allergy on it. Sent it back. I got served it a second time (different meal) but again with said allergy. 3rd time the plate was flung at me (my knife and fork hit the floor) service WAS APPALLING. Absolutely no apology or explanation as to the mistake twice. And then the dinner flung at me. Kitchen obviously made the mistakes but it is a server's job to be at the very least polite and I was not rude about the meal being served with the allergy to the servers at all. It was also preorder so really should not of been hard to have organised.

Booked for tapas and cocktails to celebrate my 40th had been dying to see it!! Wish we had of booked for kareoke but we still had a ball. staff were all lovely and made us feel welcome! place is spotless and can't wait to trys teds for food some time. Thank you 😊

Booked the cocktail masterclass in the Cloud 9 Tapas Bar for a girls night out! £30pp for a glass of prosecco on arrival, a cocktail class making two unique and delicious cocktails and a Tapas dish. The interior is fabulous with lots of insta worthy decor. Such a lovely relaxed atmosphere with Mal letting us chill and make our cocktails exactly when suited us along with letting us control the music playlist. No dance floor but that didn't stop us having a boogie and of course wailing our lungs out in showeraoke. Will definitely be back!

Brunch very misleading and cocktails where awful. More juice than anything, 17 off us and everyone left disappointed 😢

The moment I'd heard there was a new Alice In Wonderland themed bar/restaurant I knew I had to go. I love Disney (especially AiW) plus I had a quirky headband to wear. I dragged my bf along for the afternoon tea experience. I'd asked for it to be Down the Rabbit Hole instead of where it usually is which was fine. The day came & I wasn't disappointed. I peered into the upstairs restaurant to see it was quite busy with people having their Mad Hatter tea parties which looked delightful. A lovely lady showed us the way down to the Rabbit Hole and I was blown away by the decor, it was quirky & gorgeous just like the photos on FB. We were very lucky as we had the whole downstairs to ourselves with our own barman. The menu looked divine & the cocktails sounded out of this world. The menu is slightly dearer but you're getting hot food instead of sandwiches & buns. The menu includes a glass of prosecco plus 3 cocktails I think while my fella had beer. The menu is quite hazy now but I remember mini burger sliders with fries that we both really enjoyed. One of the cocktails had a candy floss cloud & the other was a octopus shaped glass where the lovely barman used a bubble gum to create a smoky bubble effect. The place is spotless & just beautiful with a showeraoke for larger parties. I'll definitely be back wearing more quirky clothes to match. Thanks all of you lovely staff!

Had my husbands 70th birthday party here. A lovely venue, food was delicious and staff amazing. Will be back.
