Very nice Chinese and Asian food restaurant. The food was very nice, the service was good, and the prices were mostly reasonable. I did think the portion size for starters are a bit small. But overall good enough value for money. It's also BYOB (bring your own booze). On weekdays I think there's no corkage fee.

This little "Gem" found via the tiktok review..Took ages to get through on the phone to book at table. eventually got booked for 7.30pm table of 3 well we weren't disappointed by the quality of the food "unreal".starters duck pancakes combo starter .beef in peppered sauce chicken bang bang and special friend rice 2 chips and BYO was a plus for himself..If I was going to suggest that they make another entrance for ordering collections of carry outs I've never seen so many orders coming in and going out..Definitely 8/10..Opted for a icecream from Getalo on the other corner...

We’ve been here many times before , tonight we were met with the lady at the front desk who was so rude and ignorant. The lady who helps out was clearly embarrassed on how she treated us!

Food was delicious, service was excellent. We were seated beside the door to the toilets which was a bit of a pain. However we would still return. 😊

Return visit June 2024 for a takeaway. Paid £24.90 for three mains; the prawn crackers were complimentary which was a nice touch. You can order online, but I'm glad i didn't at it was coming to £30.20. Honey chilli chicken still good, rib eye yaki noodles good, but the chicken peking needs work. Still cash payments. Overall, another good experience and I'll be back. I've had better spring rolls. Honey chilli chicken was really good but they had a speciality meal that was really poor especially considering they put their name to it. Expensive in comparison to other Chinese takeaways. Cash payments only. Had tables to sit in but the only business they had that night was takeaways.

Great food at very reasonable price....and it's being your own (with off licence next door)....what could be better. Gotta try the chicken satay....best flavoured sauce in Belfast. Shelly makes you feel very welcome too.

2 courses for £13.80 , & it's BYO, what's not to like ! Excellent food & service enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend .

Always my go to this Chinese food quality is so good probs the best one on Ormeau rd ! I’ve sat inside and do take aways so either as good does not disappoint! Super friendly staff too. Definitely recommend here

The food is delicious; we ordered shrimp and chicken in sweet&sour sauce, the portions are generous, and they give complimentary rice chips (which I love 😋). However, I feel like the establishment is more geared towards takeaway. I give it 4 stars because while we were eating, there was a constant queue of people waiting for their orders next to us, which wasn't very comfortable. Definitely, the place needs to expand! Otherwise, everything was great.

2 hours for delivery and food arrives stone cold. Phoned restaurant after 90 minutes to ask where it was and was told to come and collect it if I wanted it quicker even though I had paid for delivery. Absolutely disgusting food and service staff member was incredibly rude. Cold chicken in curry was like rubber, ‘crispy honey chilli chicken’ was drowned in some sort of orange water and was soggy and inedible, not crispy whatsoever. Highly priced and absolutely horrendous food and service. Spend your money elsewhere, save yourself the time and hassle.

Food was not good. Ordered crispy honey chilli beef which was drowned in a watery sauce so by the time it arrived was definitely not crispy. Was supposed to be with fried rice, came with boiled so had to phone the restaurant. Arrived quickly at least. Got a beef satay which was fine but Ordered it with noodles which were disgusting. Weird unpleasant taste like they had been sitting for ages. First time ordering here and won't be back.

Absolutely woeful. Booked a table for 6.30pm last Friday as I had a cousin over from England, and other family meeting for a meal. Arrived on time, and was told I hadn't booked the table, and they were full. On the way out my sister said they had put a line through my name...obviously just gave our table away. Told us to come back in 40mins. We came back in 40mins to no table again. They then said 20mins and we said no thank you as we were famished. Gaze - if you can't organise/honour bookings don't take them.

Love this place. Food is delicious I'd highly recommend the honey chilli chicken. Great service too staff very friendly.

I sat and waited for nearly an hour. and no sign of food. I rang and was told I’d said I was collecting the food. I had said delivery. The staff didn’t even think to call me and ask if I was coming as the food would have been prepared. Bad attitude but giy on phone who more or less called me a liar. Absolute joke. I’ll not be giving them my business again. I’d give a minus star if I could.

Absolutely love Gaze - food is amazing - I'm usually a takeaway customer but visited Ormeau road - small area for tables and bench seats great service and lovely staff. Its byo and no corkage fee . Top notch

Great food. But why cash only when you take card payment online.

This is our go to Chinese. Always really fresh and you don’t get that really thirsty feeling the next morning that you get with other Chinese takeaways because of the salt. Staff are always friendly and the food is always made very quickly. Would definitely recommend. I haven’t sat inside to eat so can’t comment on the service if you’re sitting inside.

Not happy about the portion size, ordered a half and half it came in this tiny wee plastic box all squished. It was ment to be half and half but there was way more fried rice an there was chips. There was barely any chips also which is a disgrace since I paid an extra 60p ! I would have been better off just getting fried rice because the portion of the chips was shocking! Rang up and they offered to send chips out ? By the time they done that my food would have been cold! Then they said about giving me free chips next time! I don’t think they’re will be a next time, shocking just shocking !

Excellent Chinese food with a great value 2 course menu served early evening. This place is always busy with sit in diners and take away customers. A busy restaurant is a sign of a good restaurant. Lovely staff too. Excellent service.

Paid for a salted chili king prawn starter with pound coins and loose 5p coins the Chinese girl took the money and spent what seemed a life time counting the 5p's. It was a gastly sight and very ignorant of her.... I won't return.... She was ignorant and petty.

Best sit in chinese in Belfast, well def up there with Zen anyway and we love it as BYO. The crispy duck starter, honey chilli chicken, Jing Bao chicken & blackbean all beautiful plus the fresh prawn crackers are propper prawn crackers!

Decent but has declined in quality over the years. Delivery was super quick but the duck was very dry & the soft noodles over-cooked. Chicken was ok but egg fried rice is pretty bland & chips were soggy.

Had a delivery from you, delivery lady was incredibly rude. Claimed she rang my mobile 4 times which she didn't, claimed there was no flat number on the order (there was). Started yelling at me. Won't be ordering from you again.

Ok. has gone down in quality over the years. Often subsitute beef for chicken (the chicken is not good, all the same shape processed scrap).

Honey let's tall about the honey chilli chicken. So sweet+crispy, soft inside. Also can order online without talking to a single human. Feels like a slightly healthier than norm Chinese 😏

Takeaway order.. Outstanding best Chinese I had, had the duck starter, usually never enough or very stingy, not this time great taste good ratio for meat Pancakes ect mains were spot on highly recommend.

The menu is very misleading. The description of the restaurant's food is inaccurate. We ordered minced chicken with aubergine but the chicken was not minced. It was large chunks. We ordered shredded beef honey chilli, however the meat delivered was chicken and not in the least shredded. We also ordered dry chilli salt prawns, however they were surrounded by a soggy batter. We ordered in the morning for delivery in the evening. Limited consideration seems to have been given to the order. The dishes themselves were very gloopy. Fried rice and prawn crackers were fine. . We will not order from Gaze again. Avoid. Sadly, this is one of the poorest Chinese restaurants that we have received food from in Belfast (we also lived in China for 5 years). Kind regards, Emma

Really good food. Tried a few things from the menu and have never been disappointed.

The most disgusting food you can ever imagine. Duck was dry, noodles oversalted, chicken smelled as an old shoe. This terrible takeaway killed our mode at Sunday evening. Never ever try it. I would give them 0 stars, but it's not possible

This isn't your normal, humdrum takeaway. Gaze offers an extensive and diverse menu of fine Asian cuisine, and clearly uses quality produce. Offering an efficient and professional service in house or with home delivery, Gaze is highly recommend if you appreciate quality, flavoursome food and top service.

First time ordering, definitely not the last, I was apprehensive about ordering somewhere new but food is delicious and even when very busy, quick to answer phone and delivery was quick and pleasant driver.

Such a shame, nice flavours to the meal, but both chicken dishes were spoiled by mass produced sub standard rubbery chicken pieces. Obviously bought from the wholesaler in large bin bags and added to the sauce during cooking. Disgusting. Not be back.

This has to be the worst Chinese food I have ever seen! If i could go no stars i would! The food was cold on arrival and so bad we could not eat it. I got salt chili chicken, salt chili king prawn, fried rice, chips, kids meal and noodles with chicken. The chicken smelt so bad and the prawns were soggy. I phoned gaze and they told me to phone just eat and would not refund me. It seems their customer service is as bad as their food I will never order from here again and would advise others not to waste your money as this is not proper Chinese food.

Unfortunately I couldn't give this place 0 stars. Horrendous food, which was far too spicy for a mild dish. I told the server it would upset my stomach.... Her response was 'not my problem, go to hospital' then became abusive. I would never eat from here again due to awful food and disgraceful customer service.

Tried Pad Thai - no flavor, noodles so dry they stuck together, shrimp overcooked with zero seasoning. Literally the worst food. Husband's meal of teriyaki beef was not much better. Oh and btw its cash only! We didnt see the sign. Nice. Not nice.

If like me you can't decide what to order, spend a small fortune and order it all. I've never had a bad dish from here. My friends and I have been known to order a feast of a take away and spend the evening working our way through about a dozen boxes. Worth every penny.

Old Gaze was 5*. So disappointed that after changing ownership Gaze doesn’t serve what it describes on their menu. The Malaysian curry is now just a bog standard Chinese curry with cheap meats in all of the dishes. The crispy duck starter was all “crisp” and no duck. The manager was very apologetic and refunded the entire takeout explaining it has a different owner/chef. Its a real pity I can’t still get my fav takeaway from here.

Our absolute favorite place for chicken satay in Belfast. You should come and order tonight! I have been coming to Gaze for the last 10 years and it never fails to deliver excellent food. I have tried the kimchi, the satay, and the Malaysian Curry and it all good.

Best chinese sit in/takeaway in belfast. Dragon ribs as a starter in particular are amazing.

I was struggling to find a good Chinese takeaway in East Belfast, heard about this Asian fusion place a few times and decided to try it. Prices are pretty good and the food I had was faultless. It is a sit in or take away, I will be back to try it again!

Ambience was pretty nice. The duck salad was pretty good but the teriyaki chicken was slightly on the salty side. The price was alright as well.

Jiang Bao.. ... awesome. Ramen also delicious, although no broth, which I thought ramen normally had. Great vibe. Dance tastic tunes all night! BYO too so perfect for setting you up for a good night out. 5 stars.

Expensive for a takeaway but good quality.

Our order arrived without the chips, and the vegetable Kung Po had chicken in it. The rest of the food that did arrive was practically inedible so I returned to food to the restaurant, who were unsympathetic, rude and unhelpful. I'll not be back.

Standard of food is great, its my goto take out place, expensive but worth it

It used to be cheap and cheerful and I would be there or order from it about every fortnight. I sat in for the first time in a while recently and noticed how much more expensive it had become. The food is nothing special and they have upped the corkage from £1 to £3 ie the same as nicer places in the area. It definitively seems to be on the slide as it was often hit or miss whether you would get a table and now there does not seem to be a problem. They've shot themselves in the foot with their corkage and general price hike. I'll not be back, as there is plenty of choice in the area.

Last time I'll be back here. Just drove all the way to the over-rated gaze an hour before they close to be told only open until 11 at weekends. Umm maybe you should take the 'Open' sign off the door!! Drove past later and sign on door still said open! Been here too many times before because friend likes it, one time I was served the wrong meal.. Couldn't understand English. Just because nobody else was in it they don't want to serve two people? As a returning customer i Felt very unwelcome and therefore will never be back.
