Bayroot in Southwark

Just had a very filling and satisfying lunch at Bayroot. Staff is very friendly and place was clean. Very good value for money!

I have no words about the quality of the food, it’s amazing! I have been ordering for 7+ years and it’s my favourite place in the area.

Tried their shawarma hommos and batata harra wrap. Absolutely wonderful, although I couldn’t finish them but one of the guys kindly wrapped everything up for me. Portions are great and prices as well considering I only paid around £13. I’ll be going back for sure!

We popped in for the lunch menu, as we were casually walking past from the hair salon Sebastian’s Hair & Beauty and was so pleasantly surprised at the portion! Wonderful food, we’ll be back ☺️

Delicious babaganoush and shish chicken served in a generous portion and beautiful naan. The ambience of the restaurant could have been better. Next time I will do take away. Shame I was there for work, therefore alone, so I could not benefit from the discount which was reserved to booking of at least 2 people. It would have been nice to receive the same treatment.

I’ve ordered from Bayroot several times, and each experience has been outstanding. The food quality is consistently amazing - always fresh ingredients. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, making every interaction a pleasure. Highly recommend for anyone looking for delicious food and top-notch service!

We ordered food for dinner right now. The food was completely dry / overcooked. Impossible to swallow it. One dish with chicken wings, chicken shawarma and kofte. Everything extremely dry. The baba ganoush was good. Really not recommended

Traveled 40 min there just to try a wrap because of the others reviews and scores. So now it’s my time to write it. The falafel wrap was tasty even I got with extra halloumi. I’m satisfied and when I’ll visit London again will eat there as well.

The fresh food here is a bit expensive but tasty and worth it. Annoyingly they don't make clear that the pastry parcels are deep fried from frozen. And tasteless.

My best experience of Lebanese cuisine in London. Wonderful experience of an authentic taste with their amazing choice of music.

Bayroot is delicious. Well marinated and generous portions. Saad, one of the owners is very kind and attentive. Definitely worth the money, you will enjoy it.

Bayroot was able to cater for the Peckham BMX Club at last minute and didn't fail to serve us amazing wholesome food. We was not missing anything from our order regardless of it being a takeaway and the BMX Club was very happy. Thank you for being so professionally and we will definitely be coming to Bayroots in the future!

Ok, I don’t EVER leave reviews, but I had to share this one, ordered on Deliveroo at 23:55 the place closes at 23:59 so as usual when ordering something on Deliveroo just before the establishment is about to close, wasn’t expecting too much. Pleasantly surprised when my food arrived, whole chicken grilled to perfection, nice and clean, no rubbish manky bits of the chicken, rice was good and plentiful. Had a falafel wrap on the side because I’m a big lad and I just say it went down a treat. Best thing I’ve had from Deliveroo. Will be a regular of mine now. Would add photos but I’ve obliterated everything

Food was excellent and the platter for two people was enough for all three of us, given that we were not ravenously hungry. However, we were disappointed to find that the Fork discount was reluctantly applied and then only at 10%.

Me and my friend buying food almost three times a week. The food is very good! But the staffs are not friendly at all! The know is for more then 2 years and never treat us properly.

Ate here last week. They were offering 20% discount when eating in. We had the houmous and fattoush salad to start. Followed by the sea bass and lamb skewers. Generous portions, very fresh and tasty. Total bill just under £40. Would recommend and visit again.

Very very poor quality of food, never going to order from this restaurant ever again

This was my ultimate fave Lebanese restaurant and my regular takeaway as their mixed grills are superb along with their chicken wings. Unfortunately they have since removed the lamb shish from their mixed grill and they don’t offer it anywhere on the menu so this is somewhat disappointing. They have replaced it with chicken wings instead so u now get lamb kofta, chicken shish and chicken wings - whilst it tastes great it’s just not the same - PLEASE BRING BACK THE LAMB SHISH to the mixed grill menu!!

No longer a restaurant. They were packaging up at the table in the middle of the restaurant. There were diners who looked uncomfortable and we were surrounded by Deliveroo drivers. Fair enough that’s the main business now and I’m sure the food is good - the one in E+C was nice when we went before, but don’t bother coming here for dinner. We felt like we were a nuisance. Also told that a chicken schawarma would take 40 mins and they’d run out of the house red (?) because they were so busy despite being 2/4 of the people in the restaurant except people packing boxes or wearing moped helmets. We dipped out whilst the waitress was dealing with Deliveroo. Avoid. Unless delivery, maybe.

I can’t believe this place is not packed out all the time! It’s absolutely delicious and a good price. No fault in the place whatsoever.

A pretty bad experience.. the food was very average and seemed like they used no spices or sauces. The shawarma wrap was boiled chicken, MASSIVE pieces of tomatoes and lettuce with chewy pita.. I could take of nothing. The mixed grill was not too bad but nothing too great either. The chicken wings were soggy and extremely oily. Overall disappointed. The dishes were also way too overpriced for the quantity or quality.

I am a big fan of Lebanese cuisine, having previously ordered on Deliveroo I thought it would be nice to go to the actual restaurant and have dinner. No formal greeting upon entering the restaurant we were simply ignored by the waitress. My friend and I felt like we walked in to a domestic argument between husband and wife ( chef and waitress were full blown going at each other. No care what so ever that there were customers at the restaurant) screaming at each other in a foreign language and throwing things around in a rude manner. Not a pleasant atmosphere. Placed the order - Chicken boneless platter & Drinks the whole time we were there didn't come to check on us once to order more drinks, dessert, how our food was, more interested about scrolling through their phone. No surprise why this branch is empty for dinner. Came to pay - asked for the bill multiple times - our waitress was flirting with the Deliveroo driver laughing and joking in the middle of the restaurant (bare in mind we are the only customers) it shouldn't take over 15 minutes to pay, she was more interested in giving him her number. We were the only people at the restaurant Services from the Sayer street branch are miles apart. If you hate your job don't work in customer service. It's a real shame as the food is great in my opinion but deeply let down by the staff in this branch horrible experience "stay away"

Sooooo tasty!!! One of the best chicken skewers I've had and the portions are large!

We ordered a "Shared platter" for two persons (£32), and we got two individual dishes. We thought the had split the food in two plates, but at the end they charged us £32 + £32 for two individual portions. Never again, this was a deliberate way to cheat the customer and get more money. We strongly advise against this restaurant.

People have been mentioning the price, if you want a cheap kebab that is low quality, yes, go elsewhere. This is a restaurant, if anything I would say the portion sizes are bigger than you need. The food is always good and the staff friendly. They have a few vegetarian dishes on the menu, they may be vegan, I am not sure.

Bay Root did an amazing job catering for my friends birthday party. They were easy to communicate with, took note of a couple of special instructions and delivered accurately and time. They even threw in some delicious Lebanese rice pudding. All the food was flavourful, authentic and prepared with care and attention. Bay Root has a well deserved good reputation locally and I look forward to tasting their food again soon.

Ordered without Hummus because of an allergy and it still had hummus

Your typical Lebanese place, very good food and wide menu. Slightly overpriced considering the portions given. Other than that it’s great, 4.5/5 ⭐️

Customer service is good , food good time taking to long portions are not reflective of the price, for lunch time the definition of salad should not be onion and coriander. flat bread real nice but sparse.

over prices and dry. i really have better Donner's at a fraction of the price. our 'spicy Arabian salad' was mostly iceberg and and few toms and cucumber - chili flakes 5:50.., disappointing. i won't go back.

Good food, decent portions and very nice garlic sauce. Not quite as good overall as our regular Lebanese place (perhaps a little too much lettuce in the wrap whereas could do with more pickle and garlic sauce etc). So if I could I would give 4.5 stars….

I ordered for the first time last night and it was just great!!! Ordered 2 bottles of wine on top of the food and they called me 2 min after my order was placed to tell me than one the bottle weren't in stocks and than I could choose another one instead. I told them to surprise me and they send a really great bottle from Lebanon that was worth double the price. The food was really good and they also add 2 boxes with fruits and dessert extra for free. They were really polite on the phone too. I will definitely order again

Amazing food, amazing vibes, amazing staff as usual! Visited Bayroot in elephant park for a quick lunch. As usual the food was amazing and the staff and whole experience was also just as good! Iman was our server and she was absolutely lovely! Everything was 11/10!!

This is one of my favourite local eating places! Love the food, ambience and the informality of the place. My favourite dish to order is the Mixed Grill with a side of Tabouleh...perfect to share...yummmmy 😋👌👍

This place was very good. Their staff member called to confirm booking in advance which was appreciated. The food was very good - particularly the lamb kebabs, sea bass, baba ganouche and their cold aubergine mezze. The service was very friendly. It didn't seem the most organised though I'd rather have friendly staff where you have to ask for things a couple of times than grumpy staff who are super-efficient. A nice atmosphere and good food. We'll definitely go again.

Excellent food, great value for money.

Went here for dinner last night and wow the food was SO good! We ordered the mixed grill with some babagonoush and fries. The place was quite small and cosy and the service and food were 12/10. The owner was also there himself and was very sweet and hospitable. Will definitely be back! :)

My humous starter was delicious altho the bread portion was a bit mean. They were sold out of Shawrawna (on a Thursday & when empty of customers?!) I had shish style chicken with saffron rice & salad. The rice & salad were excellent.. The chicken dried up & tasteless.. Service was very nice. Beer at 4.50 for 330ml is not cheap.

The food is amazing at Bayroot, I’ve genuinely never ordered anything that wasn’t anything but delicious. All the food is so full of flavour and made with fresh, quality ingredients. I can without doubt say that it is my favourite restaurant and I can’t wait for the see what the new one is like at the Elephant Park development!

My go to takeaway, it never disappoints. The first time I ordered off them they gave me a taster of the baklawa and I’ve included it in my order ever since! Will have to come and dine in sometime

Best shawarmas in London, hands down

Had an amazing delivery from Bayroot last night. There was five of us eating and everything that we ordered was just perfect. The sea bass was amazing. One of the group had an allergy and the service received in respect of this was just outstanding. Yasser was a pleasure to deal with and handled everything so professionally which needs commended.

I ordered from here twice in one week, both times shawarma wraps. Lamb and Chicken with extra pickles and harissa and Home made garlic sauce. They could put a bit more sauce inside the wraps, otherwise this place is as good as shawarma hut.

Delicious Lebanese food, great falafel and baba ganoush

Excellent customer service from this restaurant! I was looking for some authentic Lebanese food and called these guys. The representative who picked up was professional but warm, and assured me that if I ordered I’d get the quality I craved. I order on Deliveroo and after 45mins was informed via email that my delivery dude couldn’t deliver due to congestion charges, I was hangry. I call the restaurant and the rep’ is upset for me as he had added some lovely extras... anyway, he encourages me to use another service, I get my food delivered and the food is exactly what I wanted and needed. Big plus, I still got the extras. Will order again for sure.

Had this takeaways during the Feb lockdown and it was fantastic! Tastiest food and great portions, will definitely order again and visit when possible again.

Fresh & tasty. We had an UberEats discount but will order again regardless. The Bayroot platter for 2 is a little pricey at £30 but really tasty. The rest of the order was also a delight. You can tell when your food has been prepared with love & care.

*issue was resolved following contact by the owner. We will be ordering our favourites again* We love this place normally, but so disappointed this time. All of our mains courses were missing from our delivery, with a random dessert thrown into the bag of sides that we did receive. The restaurant then blamed the uber eats driver saying he obviously didn't deliver the second bag which "apparently" contained our mains. BUT there were wrong items in the bag we did receive so obviously an error on the restaurant's part. Sadly this will make us question whether to continue ordering from Bay Root again. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback on board as it was one of our favourites.

Ordered from here many times but felt compelled to review last night's order in particular as it was outstanding. The pomegranate chicken wings were lipsmackingly good and we couldn't get enough of the lamb parcels. For the quality and quantity of food Bay Root provides fantastic value. We're eating the leftovers for lunch today and they're just as delicious.

We ordered baba ganoush and chicken shawarma. Both were good. I’d definitely order the Baba again. It had a very light smoky taste and they are generous on the accompanying pita.

We’re in tier 4, so I got delivery. Blown away by the quality of this food - cut above most deliveries I’ve has recently. Had mixed grill and hummus, and both were excellent. Lots of flavours, generous portions. Highly recommend, will definitely order again (or preferably visit when possible!)

Lovely food which is cooked just right. Some food grills end up being burnt. This is not one of them. Portions are massive and great value too.

Ordered a few times and generally really good food. However ordered tonight was cold and dry. That wont stop me ordering as mentioned always normally good.

Best baba ganoush I've had in my life. We ate in - lovely little restaurant, fast, friendly & covid-safe service. Portions were huge and everything was delicious. We had the Bayroot houmous, baba ganoush (obviously), spiced potatoes, sea bass & moujadarra bil zait. Definitely going back and/or ordering again ASAP. Thank you!

Best Lebanese food in London, ordered from here countless times and have always been impressed. Hummus, pitta bread and chicken taouk wrap can definitely recommend! Have picked up from in store also, all the staff were helpful and welcoming!

Update: The owner of the restuarent reached out to me and was very genuine and I believe him that this incident was just one off. I have always appreciated the quality of the food at Bayroot since I am local to the area and have been there multiple times. Appreciate the owner going out of his way to call me. Won't trust them with takeaways ever. Yesterday ordered a Bayroot platter for 2, went to the restaurant, paid the money for it, £26, collected the order and when came back home found out that it was missing mixed Shawarma. When called to enquire about it, restaurant said, "Yes the shawarma had finished and hence we put some extra meat in your order". Firstly, I would have appreciated that information when I was paying and collecting the order. Secondly, Now all I got was a Mixed Lebanese platter which cost £15 and some more of the dry meat to go with it. If I would have got this info, the Shawarma place was just next to Bayroot, I would have got the Lebanese platter from Bayroot and Sharwma from Walworth Sharwma place. Highly disappointed with the service, they should have been upfront with the information, I had the right to know what I was paying for.

Authentic, fresh and delicious Lebanese food. Some of the nicest we’ve had in the city. A few items were missing in the order but we promptly received a refund. Will definitely order again!
