Excellent food. The atmosphere was super cosy and the staff very friendly, it felt like they cared and proud of their food which is rare to see these days in the London food scene. All in all, highly recommended great food, reasonably priced, would definitely come again

Food was excellent. I ordered onion bhaji, seekh kebab as a starter and on the main course ordered few traditional dish and one chef special dish. It was splendid. Me and the family have been having bayleaf takeaway since I can remember! Last night I was sooooo disappointed. It cost £95 to feed the four of us and the portions were at least half the size that they would usually be. I hope the next time we order this issue is resolved or unfortunately we will not be ordering again. Again, we have been having bayleaf for many years (20+) and are so disappointed. The food was delicious as always but very expensive and massively reduced portions from the rice to the vegetable dishes to the main dishes. Huge disappointment.

After a takeaway, I emailed hello@bayleaf.co.uk saying: "Thank you for the meal that you delivered just now. Unfortunately, we have a complaint. The Chicken Tikka Masala was extremely sweet (lots of sugar had clearly been added), and it had no spice/heat at all; it was so sweet and sugary as to be inedible. Would it be possible to request a refund or some other good will gesture? It really is very disappointing, and well below your usual standard." Having got no reply, I emailed again more than a week later, a couple of days ago, and still have had no reply. This is very disappointing, as the rest of the meal was fine, and we've enjoyed some excellent meals here (eating in and takeaway) previously over the years.

Waited over 2 hours for a delivery tonight- onion bhaji inedible and burnt - chicken so tough and very oily disgusting curry sauce I am so disappointed and devastated you used to be the best! I wanted a treat to end this year on a high and feel totally devastated and disappointed

Takeaway ordered. Have ordered takeaways for many years. Sorry to new SMALL CONTAINERS and increased pricing has stopped me being a customer If/when they increase their ECO containers to a larger size I may change my mind. Am sure others will also br disappointed with main portion sizing

Food was absolutely amazing , honestly I don’t even give reviews to restraunts but this one I had to put everyone on. The chef diserves a pay rise. Mashallah the customer service was so welcoming greeted me with such a warm welcome. If you're in the mood for some incredible Indian cuisine, From the moment you walk in the door, you'll be greeted by friendly staff and the mouth-watering aroma of spices and cooking food.

I’ve eaten from many indian takeaways but this place has to be the most authentic one so far. The spices were just perfect & the food tasted delicious. Hats off to the chef, he really deserves a pay rise! Highly recommend this place to everyone. Thank me later!

I am Not quite sure how this takeaway prides itself on winning numerous awards and then produced such below average dishes that was absolutely no different from any other high st takeaway . The prices are extortionate and the quality is very very average . Good luck with meat content as i ordered a byryani lamb karai and saag aloo . The byryani is lack lust with 3 prices of diced chicken the saag aloo had two potatoes mushed in insufferable looking spinach . The less said the better on the lamb karai . The service was non existent , it may have been a well run place but as it is .. wry dissapointing . I paid 38 odd quid regrettabley . Do better !

Amazing food, amazing atmosphere and service! 110% recommend this place when you visit London if you love asian cuisine. The Biryani was top tier, so tasty and delicious! Would definitely visit the place again! cant praise them enough. the owner of the place also gave us a little something on the house , and served us just before closing time! no complaints

Having been to the sit-down restaurant first, I had very high expectations, but was very disappointed with the quality. Not what I expected from an award winning takeaway.

Incredible this place has won any awards. We had bland dishes, my chicken manchuri sounded great but was in fact inedible and tasteless mince and I had to eat some of my wife's food - and I never leave my food! Naan and rice were really basic. Expensive and forgettable. There are other much better places nearby. Avoid.

Really disappointed with the quality of the takeaway. We had to throw the chicken main out. The other dishes were edible .Wish we had read previous reviews before ordering but we had eaten in the restaurant previously and thought it would be good. Would definitely not recommend .

I hate having to write this, we ordered a take away of mixed starters & then two king prawn tikka masala, vegetable curry, & sag paneer & naan bread, we had it the week before and it was very good, this time it was just awful. I asked as I had before could we have one of the masala slightly hotter, the word slightly... The Prawn masala was a vindaloo, I ate one prawn & couldn't feel my mouth it was awful, there was only four prawns when we had it last time there was six ! priced at £15.99 each !! I called the restaurant as I was so angry, the gentlemen that I spoke to shouted at me & said it was my fault, as I had asked for it to be hotter... I kept saying I asked for it to be slightly hotter, I couldn’t believe he was shouting at me, he then passed the phone to someone else who was just as rude, I said look just make me another one as it is & they still argued and asked if they could put a credit for next time, I was so infuriated as now it was 9.15pm too late to wait for them to bring another one, I said just refund the card, and they refused to do this, this went on for at least ten minutes, I couldn’t believe that I was the customer and they were behaved like this, we go to the restaurant at least twice a month & the takeaway at £60.00 plus they charge delivery at £3.99 isn’t cheap, we certainly will not be going back or getting another take away from then .... clearly they don't care about their customers to speak to me like that!

Deliveroo takeaway from these guys. Bayleaf takeway has become so poor! My chicken was soo tuff i couldnt even chew it! The last 2 orders i have had with these guys have become really disappointing! Wont be returning !

I ordered my favorite food Tarka daal and chapati but the daal looked and tasted like baby food. Zero taste. The chapati was dry and crumbly. Like eating cardboard. Maybe the non veg dishes they serve are OK. Just review on what I ordered. If your a vegetarian stay away from this place.. Given one star because the free poppadom they give wes fried to perfection.

One of the worst Indian takeaways we have had. I cannot believe the food was cooked by an Indian chef. No seasoning whatsoever in the food we ordered. I see that the reviews on there delivery website are rigged. Those with 4 stars and above rating(maybe imaginary guests) has been submitted 3-4 times to get a good score. Avoid at all costs.

When ordered total on restaurant menu showed £31.5 when delivered asked £34.5 one item missing from the order. (nan bread)

We Ordered few dishes, one was saag panner. The restaurant had forgotten to add salt to the dish, when I enquired the same. The Manager of the take away said definitely they wouldn't have forgotten to add salt. But when i volunteered to bring the dish back for them to taste, he change d the tact saying they were very health conscious and promoting less salt !! If i needed something healthy, or less salty i would have requested it. So this single star is for the Manager lying !!

The food was bland. There really is nothing more to say. I seasoned everything on my plate with salt and any spice that had been used my taste buds struggled to find. My father said his garlic naan wasn't very garlicy. The lime and cashew rice seemed to be short of lime. I won't be ordering here again and won't be recommending it.

I order Indian takeout on a regular basis so trust me when I say that this was the nastiest Indian food that i ever had the misfortune to put into my mouth. The naan was sickly sweet - drowned with enough sugar to give you instant diabetes🤮. The chilly paneer tasted like a Chinese ready made sweet and sour dish that you can get from the frozen isles in Iceland. 🤢. I would never wish for anyone to waste money to endure such pain inflicted by ingesting this ‘food’. Or so they call it. Ultimately, all the food was thrown away in the bin where it belongs and I was forced to whip out a cup of pot noodles instead.

Really disappointed with the takeaway meal this evening - aloo gobi had huge chunks of undercooked cauliflower and huge chunks of potato, hardly any spices, no flavour at all. Chilli paneer notable for its lack of chilli. Totally bland. I make a far better curry in my own kitchen than this!

Below average, and it's misleading when they advertise whatever award they won because the food is actually not that good. As well as not having great food, it's also very expensive and with small portions. There's no spice or taste in the food, making me think it caters to very English people that cannot handle even a tiny bit of spice. Our chicken korma was absolutely dreadful.

Loved the biryani. The chicken biryani is more flavour than the veg one. Curries are nice too. Will be visiting again soon.

We have been using Bayleaf take away for some time and to be honest the food is generally good. This week we ordered and were quite shocked at the price, it has risen so much. We asked why? they said that they raised their prices from 1st of December. We had a mixed grill , chicken madras , one rice ,1 vegetarian main and 2 vegetarian sides. No poppadums or onions or anything else. The cost was £48. I cannot believe that takeaways that provide good food need to increase their prices so much, takeaways for most are a treat and in these times when most families have had reduced income and takeaway providers have had it good. I don’t understand the need for such greed. I will have to think twice before I part with that sort of money on a takeaway for 2 people.

Shockingly bad food!!! Paneer masala was fluorescent orange as if it was hazardous, the sauce tasted as if it were a dessert and was sickly to say the least. The paneer was rubbery and tasted like gone off dairy! Awful! The stuff out the bottle in a supermarket, processed factory made would have been 10x better. The bhindi bhaji was uncooked and very bland, how can this be uncooked.. its veg!!. Lime cashew rice was dry and also very bland. Best thing was the popadom! I ate at the Bayleaf Restaurant in the summer and I sat in, this was nothing compared to that! The restaurant was delicious, not sure why the quality of the food drops so significantly! Fair to say I will never order from the takeaway again! What an utter waste of £20!!

Ordered a take away 2 and a half hours later before it arrived and when I called their 2 numbers constantly engaged . Called the operator phones had been taken off the hook they were not on phones to customers . Message you regularly to order from them but appalling service

Mi experiencia personal fue que a la comida le faltaba sabor. El curry de verduras era principalmente zanahoria y patatas y le faltaba sabor. Los recipientes de plástico en los que estaba la comida no la habían mantenido caliente. Sentí que el costo representaba un valor pobre.

Recogí una comida para llevar familiar para la noche. Un artículo estaba mal y el biryani vegetariano fue la comida más blanda de mi vida y no pude comerlo. Muy decepcionante. Nan estaba empapada, en general, fue una experiencia muy decepcionante

The food is excellent, out of the ordinary,best quality, beautifully cooked and presented, the staff are extremely pleasant and helpful.

As we can't eat out at the moment it was really lovely to have a meal delivered. Sensibly they have a smaller menu but everything was up to their usual high standard. I'm looking forward to my next dinner from them.

Best Indian takeaway/Delivery in area. Food is always excellent and still hot on delivery! Been ordering from here for several years now and have tried many Indian Takeaways locally but Bayleaf is the best!!

My family and I order regularly from Bayleaf however, this most recent order that we placed on 9th April was unacceptable. There was a live maggot in my food that was camouflaged in the rice so was only noticed at the end of the meal. This is disgusting and shows a lack of regard for quality checking and hygiene in the establishment. On top of this, the did not offer a refund when we called to complain; instead, only half off our next order.

Not impressed by our second ever takeaway from here. We first went years ago and ever since have received a Christmas card with money off vouchers inside. Even though we thought the food was average all those years ago we thought we'd give it another try. We ordered the south Indian fish curry which was good, fresh tasting with plenty of fish.. Good start.... Aubergine curry was bland, lacking flavour with some slightly undercooked aubergine. Also had a prawn bhuna (just in case my daughter joined us) not a dish I would normally order but one which should still be full of rich, tomato based curry flavour but sadly it was very over seasoned with salt and I simply could not eat it.. I have never experienced too much salt in a curry before? The nan was like cardboard and I suspect had been pre cooked then re heated... All in all.. Bit rubbish really..

Have been a regular customer of Bayleaf takeaway for the past 4 years and this review has been due a long time... and much deserved! Bayleaf have consistently delivered me fantastic food and have been my go to Indian since moving to Whetstone. My personal favourite is the Chicken Tikka Chilli Balti with the biryani being a close second. Overall, a fantastic place with great service and amazing food!

As a regular to Bayleaf takeaway I can hands down say this is our favourite indian around North London. Delicious Indian food delivered piping hot all the time. Tonight we ordered Adhkari lamb and chicken tikka masala which tasted amazing as always.

Taken by friends who live locally for lunch. The food was pleasant and there was enough of it. Four of us shared two starters and had a main course each. To add to this 2 large beers a coke and a small beer plus tap water. In total the bill came to £140. I just did not feel that the food was special enough to warrant the price.

Bayleaf always has the best and most freshest and delicious Indian food ever and tonight was no exception. Delightful Murgh Madurai indeed.

No solo tardé 70 minutos en llegar (cuando me dijeron que tomaría una hora como máximo), sino que las porciones eran pequeñas y suaves. No tiene sabor a la NaN y es pequeña! La salsa de curry tiene un sabor extraño y no estaba caliente en madras, ¡sabía más como un curry de pollo! Por el precio fue muy decepcionante. Se apegará a mi comida para llevar india habitual

Have ordered from here a few times and been to the restaurant. Both have very good food. Not too sure why they menus are different but I have always been happy with either restaurant or take away. They always remember us when we walk in even after months - great friendly staff!

Majority of reviews were good. However, upon seeing the food, the bad reviews were right. The food was bland and I found hair in one of the dishes. Didn’t eat and looked for an alternative place. I recommend not getting takeaway from here. Money wasted.

Tandoori mixed grill is delicious

I don't understand how they get away with such high prices especially as there are several top restaurants around at half the price.

Picked up from here and the food was just about average with good prices. Really expected better. Was told that their menu is not the same as the restaurant which i have been led to believe is very good but ridiculously high prices so I wont be going there.

Insípido y sosa. Hace que me pregunte qué demonios están tomando aquellos revisores que marcan algo más de 2 estrellas. ¡Las palabras me fallan!

One of the best takeaways in terms of food - truly outstanding in my opinion. But their delivery service is the worst. The online ordering closes down really early (its now 9:30 on a Friday night and its closed, without advertising the fact) but you can call them and they occasionally answer. Its a real shame as it would be 5 star for me otherwise.

Ordered 3 chicken Madras 3 steamed Rice 2 Nan Ordered takeaway home delivery, was very disappointed with the food, the curry’s tasted very bland and tasteless. Can honestly say the worst tasting chicken curry i have tasted. Cost me £36 and had to throw the lot in the bin

Un excelente restaurante Estado dos veces y la comida y la presentación fueron increíbles. Nuestra segunda visita fue para una celebración de cumpleaños y el personal fue fantástico. Sin duda volveremos. Después de haber sido profesor de tecnología de alimentos, aprecio la buena comida, las gambas eran realmente suculentas y los currys deliciosos.

Tres de nosotros fuimos a una cena de cumpleaños. Llegamos un poco tarde y esto no fue un problema cuando llamé. La comida era excepcionalmente deliciosa y el servicio ejemplar. El personal está bien entrenado, aunque la camarera de bebidas lo hizo con su brazo constantemente alrededor de su espalda. No se veía bien.
