Pleased don't be put off that this restaurant is on a holiday/caravan park, it is very much 5 star. We visited here for our Basil's 2nd birthday. Right from the very first moment of arriving, he was made a fuss of and loved it. He had a lovely birthday table laid out for him. His lunch was excellent, hence the empty bowl! Us humans enjoyed our food too!! The portions were extremely generous. Our host, Nathan, was excellent and made the lunchtime birthday treat a most enjoyable experience.

went tonight 11/06/24 for a date night,living local to the site and yet again it was amazing, Nathan and Helen couldn't do enough for us, I had the beef and omg it was amazing, Rob had the fish and chips and said it was delicious and we both both enjoyed every mouthfull, well done guys xx

Had a lovely Beef Sunday dinner. What a hidden gem this place is, restaurant is half dog friendly so our Choclate lab Lola loved it as they have a dog menu also. Staff were brilliant, attentive and friendly and made a fuss of owners pets also. Food was top notch one of the best presented and tastiest Sunday dinners weve had out. Also the Wrexham larger is excellent if your near id certanly recommend a visit.

Alex and Bella are truly talented chefs, my meal was next to none and the portion size generous. Helen and Katie had been lovely hosts and looked after myself and my party impeccably, friendly and welcoming. I would suggest this restaurant to anyone who is visiting the area and I am excited to one day return myself. 10/10 would dine there again!

Had a lovely family Sunday lunch here whilst on holiday early August. There were 9 of us but that was no problem. The service was exemplary & the food was amazing. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal & the portions were great even for the hungry men! Would thoroughly recommend.

Fabulous restaurant, great food with excellent service and views to die for

The servers are well trained, but the food was disguisting and not fresh. The salmon was burned and bone dry, same with potatoes. Pork was tasteless and turkey was ok-ish kids said. On top of that we were overcharged, so always check your bill.

Amazing place! Didn’t even know it was open to the public who weren’t on site but went for a meal there last Friday evening and very very impressed. Service was phenomenal, food quickly served and exceptional, Bar service and drinks great, atmosphere was so relaxed. Definitely our new ‘go to’ place to eat in Barmouth. Well done all staff.

It's such a shame to be writing the negative but honest review. My partner and I went here a few months ago and were blown away by the food, the view, the atmospheric and the service. All of which were excellent. We own a caravan nearby and we rarely get the opportunity to use it. So this evening we managed to get away for just one night, we decided to book this fantastic restaurant for 6:45pm and were looking forward to our dining experience and the remainder of the evening together. Upon arriving we were seated almost immediately and served with a drink. We then ordered starters and mains and were greated a short time later by fabulous food. It was at this point that things went down hill. After our arrival, two large parties and one party of four arrived. All of which were served with their starters and mains while we sat there waiting at a table that hadn't been cleared, we hadn't had drinks replenished and we hadn't received our mains. 8:20 pm arrived and still we hadn't received our food, nor had we been asked if we'd like more drinks. It seems that this restaurant prioritises the larger parties that are spending more money, rather than treating ALL paying customers equally. We left the restaurant having never received our meals and having spent what should have been a romantic break both hungry and being ignored. So disappointed with this treatment and disappointed that our rare opportunity for a get-away was ruined. Excellent food bht seriously lacking in attentiveness.

Sunday lunch for two - fantastic service and amazing food at a great price. Our favourite Sunday lunch in the area is the George 3rd but this was even better and bang on the money. Thanks

Have passed this Restaurant on many occasions and also lived here at one point for several years. Went back to visit a our friends and neighbours and thought we would pay a visit to The Bay for Sunday lunch! We were certainly not disappointed the whole experience from start to finish was excellent. The service and the food was great add that to the view of the coast a little gem hidden away. Full marks and would recommend a visit.

I like the food so much, it is delicious and there is a lot of choices on the menu, the staff is kind and helpful, the only thing to be better is only that they can clean the table up faster for more people to book and it is quite too long to wait for food. But everything else is very good and fantastic.

17 of us have visited here for my mum's 60th. Great reception on entry, friendly staff, food was exceptional, all round we are all extremely happy with the overall experience. Thank you for having us and we sure will be back

Great choice of food with nice sea view

Me and my husband had a lovely aniversary dinner here. Staff was very friendly and food was delicious! The siracha wings were well breaded and very tender and the french fries were very crispy. Flatbread was tasty. The portions were very big.

Really nice place, brilliant view and amazing hospitality. I had the full ribs which were a great portion size and well worth the money. The manager was very friendly and loved talking to him about his past in Stockport.

As a family group of 11, including a baby and a wheelchair user, we received a lovely warm welcome, followed by fantastic food at a very reasonable price. Desserts were amazing! Highly recommended.

We had a lovely roast dinner at bay view, then we had the nicest cheese cake we'd ever had. Everything from the service to the food was perfect and it didn't cost a fortune.

Fantastic views. The restaurant was nice with very friendly staff. Food was very good with lots of choices. Bar was well stocked with a variety of things to try. Disabled ramp entrance into the building.

Tried for Sunday lunch and wow got to be 10 out of 10 for food quality and quantity. Front of house was brilliant asked how I liked beef said burnt ends and to my surprise I received some burnt ends. The service was excellent from all the staff thanks and will be back.

From the spectacular views to the over and above service there's nothing to fault this place. My husband likes his beef well done and joked about having the burnt ends, next thing a plate of burnt ends was brought to the table, that for me was impeccable service 👌

We first visited here 2 years ago whilst staying in Barmouth. There's always a slight trepidation going back to somewhere and if you have built it up in your memory and then it's not going to be as good as you remember. If anything it was better that before! We had a excellent meal and the staff were lovely and friendly. Everything is cooked fresh to order. The desserts though! Normally we find a dessert menu can be a bit dull with the same things you get everywhere! We were totally spoilt for choice so ordered 4 different things and shared them all!

A few years ago we found this gem of a place. The food excellent, service excellent. Never had a bad meal, or service. Trust me, when you visit Barmouth, try The Bay Restaurant, you won't be disappointed.

We had our dinner here, with 2 kids en 2 adults. As a family living glutenfree, eating in a restaurant is always difficult. We were happy allergenes were well marked on the menu. There wasn't a lot glutenfree, but they were happy to see if they could make it glutenfree. My son (6 year) had an adults menu same as me, chicken with bacon, chips and broccoli. They offered to give our 4 year old some chips and bacon from her brothers menu, as that were the things she wanted. Husband had a curry. And to our surprise we even could have a dessert glutenfree. The food was really nice, good hot and server nicely. The curry was realy spicy, almost too spicy, but the taste was perfect. Chicken and chips were perfect. We really loved going out for dinner carefree about gluten! Staff was very friendly, certainly recommend having dinner here!

Love this place we had a great meal they even cater for people with food alagies my mom is gluten free and it was not a problem they even altered the desert for her. The service was fantastic from getting there to leaving the server who we had was great really nice guy will definitely be coming back and the view out over the bay is amazing. Came here as a family of 6, 5 month old baby and 2 dogs. Was quiet for a Saturday evening. We was seated fairly quickly and drink orders were taken promptly. A young lady came to serve us and she did not write our orders down and 'appeared' to memorise the order. We ordered two bay fish platters and camberet for starter. Another 6 mains too. Another large family came into the restuarant and ordered their food and drinks. Their starters then arrived before we received ours despite being sat waiting for an hour. No one came over to ask where we okay or see if our food had arrived. When questioned, the manager came over and said that the order had not been put through the computer. The mains however came out quickly and the manager was quick and proactive in rectifying the mistake. Food was lovely!

Found this little Gem yestedsy whilst staying in llanbedr, possibly the best cooked steak I have ever had, my partner had the ragu tagliatelle and was of the same opinion, the man who served our table was a credit to the restaurant and the business making the trip that little bit better! Quality food with lovely views! Will be back on our next visit!

Had what what was supposed to be a birthday treat for my daughter,the worst food that we have ever had in over ten years. I had battered cod ,firstly it looked nice cutting into it was luke warm the chips looked like they had been reheated more than once. Two of the party had scampi,that also was like warm the chips once again were reheated more than once. The last meal was belly pork ,well were do we do we start,one side was black,the meat side was still pink.We brought it home for the dog ,but even she turned her nose up, and wouldn't eat it. WHAT has gone wrong with the place ????? It was one of the best places to eat in the area over the last 10 to 13 years. Reluctantly I for one will not be returning any time soon.

Wasn’t staying in the caravans but found this little gem after looking for a place to eat for our anniversary and wow did we pick the right place!! From start to finish it was lovely, in particular our server called Nathan was especially helpful, smiles all round and nothing was too much despite him being run off his feet busy!! The food was just amazing (i had the muscles, my partner had the lasagne) the view was lovely and overall it was a really good value for money. Will definitely be returning on our next trip to Barmouth. Thank you!!

Hidden gem if you are off-site. Good food at a reasonable price, nice views if the weather is good. Our server Nathan was very helpful despite it being busy and helped make our night great! Will be back!

This restaurant is on a caravan site so didn't know what to expect but the food was delicious and service amazing so good we have booked to go again on Saturday.

I had previously said the best Sunday lunch I have ever had was at the Dartmouth Inn in Totnes, Devon. Well I now have new favourite in Barmouth here at The Bay Restaurant. I had a 3 course lunch, pate then roast beef and crumble. Absolutely delicious served by delightful staff in a lovely setting. Will definitely go back and highly recommend a visit. What a gem of a place.

Friendly staff, delicious food and stunning view

We are staying in portmadog and the drive to the bay restaurant was lovely - a nice view of the coast. When you arrive there is free parking right by the restaurant. Once seated the view of the coast from the bay restaurant was really beautiful. If you go for dinner you are treated to a view of the setting sun. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The owner made sure to be very welcoming and check up on guests every now and then to make sure everything was going smoothly. Would definitely recommend ! Dog friendly place too

Wonderful 300+ year old stone building carefully designed and blended with new and contemporary interior design coupled with older features throughout. The menu here is comprehensive as is the drinks choice, everything is beautifully cooked and presented and the staff are courteous and attentive. They cater for veg and vegan as well as special requests. Disabled friendly. 10/10 Highly recommended.

Wow, amazing, 5 star service, 5 star food. Choice of food excellent , excellent presentation, will definitely be a regular . The staff were knowledgeable about the drink and food they served and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed the mussels so much ,the sauce was the best we had ever had, the chef Kev even did us a tub to bring home and spoke to us personally , we loved every minute of our evening and can't wait to go again.Thank you to all the staff .

Booked table for four Sunday roast, our first time here, excellent establishment the service and the food was tremendous. The way the manger engaged with my daughter regarding vegetarian options was very professional the roast pork with crackling was to die for, same iam told about the beef. A great afternoon was had by all, strongly recommend looking forward to steak night.

Just been for Sunday lunch 23/08.... Excellent value service Food & staff 😎...

Table booked 3 days in advance. (Non government scheme day) turned up, half of the tables empty (6:30) pregnant wife, and we're sat in the damp empty ex games room. Currently been at least 15 mins since we've sat down. Now it takes alot for me to complain. But something has to be said!!! Now we've been moved, I've upgraded to a 4 star. The food is nice shame we got placed where we did.

We was recommended this place by the tattoo artist in the town centre, he said the food was great. So we decided to try it out and to say the food is great is a understatement! The service was fantastic very friendly and loved our little staffy also. They had a new cheesecake which the mrs loved so that was a bonus too lol
