I was waiting for my cod but they served it to one of their locals first leaving me to wait about 30 mins for cod and chips.

This place is an actual Gem. The quality is so good for the prices. People here are friendly ingredients always fresh, and it is always very clean the place. This is a 10/10 Thank you

I heard about the good reviews, so I decided to try them out for an early supper before going home. I enjoyed a freshly cooked regular battered cod with a scoopful of chips and a portion of mushy peas. The cod was especially flavoursome, and the chips were good. I couldn't finish the chips as even a scoopful was too much for me. I decided to eat in as it wasn't busy.

Freshly cooked to order, tasted great. What more could you ask for! Will definitely return

It's so clean, the portions are plentiful, and the fish is so delicious. I think Koreans should definitely go there too!!

If I could give more stars, I would! Hands down the BEST fish and chips I have ever had. I've been going to Batterfly for years now, and nowhere else even comes close. Spotlessly clean, fresh ingredients and super friendly service. Highly recommended. But be warned, once you try Batterfly, you won't be able to enjoy fish and chips anywhere else!

The fish bites are good quality. The battered sausage and savaloy are poor quality and would not recommend them. Overall, its ok.

Fast and friendly service here as always. The Cod is always excellent, we also had the Plaice and Nuggets. The Plaice was HUGE and delicious, and the Nuggets similarly large, and both of such top quality. A perfect treat when we feel like a real fill-you-op meal.

Very high quality chippy that hasn't lost its' "chippy" soul. The food is exactly what's expected and hits the spot and if you go into the shop the staff are very friendly and the decor is high quality and very neat. The best fish n chip shop I've found in this area so far. Edit 11 Jan 23: Oh dear. I haven't been here for a year or so (moved away) but came back for a visit today. Saveloys are the same high quality (for halal sausages) but the chips were a real disappointment. Low quality, too bitty and crunchy and had an "oven chip" taste to them. Maybe I was unlucky and got the bottom of the fryer or something, but I was hungry as hell and my previous high expectations were blown away 😩😭

Great food but can you please offer Uber options without chips. We always end up discarding 70 per cent of the chips which is a real shame....they are good chips but we just don't want more than 1 portion between us all.

Delicious Chips, Nuggets and Mushy peas! The chips weren't greasy at all (like some other places) and the nuggets were nice chunky bits of chicken. The staff were really nice, and offered to adjust something on the menu which worked really well. All in all a great local find, we will definitely be back- especially for the halloumi

Really good fish and chips... But one time we had a fish where the batter was a bit soggy and the chips seemed re-fried - wasn’t very nice but we called to tell them and they did offer another portion but we were full on the not so good stuff which we ate as we were starving, so they offered a free order next time we make one. Happy to report that they honoured their offer, and it was back up to their usual great standard! Keep up the good work guys.. we’ll be back!

best fish and chips I had in ages. I also tried their scampi and I never had scampi like this. The batter was so light (it's usually almost burnt in other places). They change the oil daily and I think that really makes a difference with the taste and texture of the food.

Best chip shop in the area! The cod bites are great, and very generous, and (don't judge me, but) you need to try the battered Mars bar!

Rude customer service! Disappointed with the customer service i experienced today! I ordered a regular cod and chips and specified that I like the batter crispy and I will wait to get a freshly made portion. As the box was being prepared the fish did not look crispy to me and I reminded the guy serving of my request. He rudely responded that I complain when he is serving me a fresh portion and when the last time I bought some was 3 months ago. I left quite upset and ended up not collecting the order for which I paid;; happy for him to enjoy it on me. Now I may not be a regular customer and my request may be odd but I expect to be served what I order and not to be shouted at in the shop.

One of the best fish and chip shops in Kingston, fantastic food cooked fresh to order at fair prices (the haddock was massive and the chips generous). They even have dandelion and burdock pop (a must for us northerners!) I will definitely be going back.

Simply the best fish and chips! We stopped in at Batterfly for the first time a few months ago and were so impressed with the quality of the food that we have been going back every Thursday since. So far we've tried the cod, scampi and squid and all have been wonderful, and absolutely worth the drive from Richmond to collect it. The last 15 months or so have been really tough on everyone and discovering Batterfly has genuinely brought some moments of joy to my family and I. See you on Thursday!

Fish cooking was superb. Large cod and large huss to die for, soft, moist and juicy with crispy batter. With 1 large portion of chips it was too much for us, but very hard to stop, and only £10 per head. Can't wait to try the whitebait, a great oldschool chippy!

This is the place to go for fish & chips for sure! Only recently discovered Batterfly, have been twice now & it’s become our chippy. Food is plentiful, staff are super friendly, the shop is fresh & clean - curry sauce is spot on, can’t fault these guys at all!! The misses loves it as well so it’s a winner!

I went in on Thursday for fish bites mmmmm absolutely delicious, the amount of fish in each bite is really generous and the batter mmmm crispy and light. My daughter went in on Saturday got fish chips curry sauce and mushy peas all of excellent quality. And the service was so friendly, I will be returning for many times to come.

Last night we had our 'usual' fish and chips. Well, it was even better than ever. Our neighbour said that the Plaice was the size of a Sting Ray! The mountain of chips meant that even the pet Squirrel was full. These fish and chips must be the best in London. I collect, every week, for two other families and we have never been disappointed. All the regulars meet outside, it's like a Club! The portions and the cooking are better than any restaurant I have been in.
