Great little place for all the family! Good prices and great food, plenty choice on both full and kids menu! Definitely be back sooner than later Thanks guys!

Had a lovely meal with my partner last week 😊

We had a wonderful meal here. The menu was large, the food was delicious, the portions were big and the staff were welcoming and helpful. We'd highly recommend this place. The only slight downside was that the pizza oven was off when we visited so no pizzas, but there was plenty more on the menu to choose from.

We went for breakfast,Monday morning. Both had poached eggs on toast with grilled mushrooms and tomatoes. No brown bread, cheap white bread that was so tough it didn't cut. Both eggs served overdone and tasted of vinegar, when we complained the chef said "I thought they were " but served them anyway. Eggs were redone quickly and brought to the table. Small portion of mushrooms and half a tomato each. Sorry, but won't be back for breakfast . Overpriced

Best balmoral chicken i've ever had 🤩 Husband had the meat on pizza after having leftovers of it of someone else's and thinking about it all week!! He also had to take a goodie bag home!

The food was not good sorry to say got the lass to take mine away she never asked what was wrong with it

The servers were the highlight of the visit. Complained about the food and the head chef was rude and dismissive about his poor cooking. Heard him swearing about my table as soon as he went back to the kitchen. Will not be returning due to head chefs attitude towards the customers. Ruined my family dinner.

Lovely, freshly cooked meal at a good price. Lovely, cosy setting. Mac and cheese was mega!

I can remember this place was once 🍦 an ice cream shop, 🌀 a carpet store , 🍴The Osbourne Grill 🍺 and Blazers Fun Pub. Bi@g changes from the old "Fun Pub!! 😀 Returned again on Sunday and it was not busy. The staff made a Club Sandwich for me even although it was not lunch time. See see 👍 P.S. Well filled breakfast wrap.

Stopped in for dinner - ordered a pizza and it was fine. They were out of a beer I wanted to try and the wi-fi was not working. But the hostess was pleasant. Unfortunately the card machine did work!

Didn’t feel welcome when we walked in. No one at door to greet us on our first visit which can be daunting when you are in a strange eatery. Then along comes the cleaner or whatever she was with mop in hand abruptly asking if she can help us. Apart from her and her noisy clanging of cutlery in the tray, the person who served us was far more pleasant and accommodating, thank you. Can’t fault the food which was delicious and fresh (apart from the guacamole) and very reasonable. Would have scored higher……..

Food was average. Had a Pizza. Oregano missing.Vegetables were placed after the dough was baking? Makkaroni with cheese was good. New Chance next time.

Decided to eat here on a day trip from Edinburgh and we weren’t disappointed. The food was lovely and the service first class. Mac n cheese was one of the best I’ve had and husband’s fish was excellent.

Tried calling to order takeaway and the restaurant phone wasn’t working, rushed down to the restaurant at 7:30 because they closed at 8:00 and were told that the kitchen just closed. I explained about trying to call and was told that it just wasn’t working. I asked if we just order to take away if they didn’t want us to eat in and was told no. Terrible customer service and bad business decision! If you close at 8… close at 8!!!

Visited Base for dinner. We both had fish & chips. Lovely fresh fish, plenty of chip & the usual tiny portion of mushy peas. All good, enjoyed it, will go back if ever in the area again.

Really good food. Lovely atmosphere and very good staff. Been in several times and it's always very good. Especially the cooked breakfast. 👌🏻👍🏻

Myself and my family have been to Base quite a few times over the last few months. The food is so fresh and the fish wrap is amazing. Even my fussy mum loves it!

Bacon was very fatty on the club sandwich, and the special butter chicken was bland and had no heat whatsoever. Very disappointed

To much Cajun spice on the chips but food was still tasty and service was good

Great food and Great Service. And not expensive. Had lunch with my wife and niece with no complaints from either. I recommend this place for either a light lunch or a full on meal. Good for familes or single diners. *UPDATE* Back again for lunch. New Menu. Same great service. Better food than before and that is saying something. Once again a fantastic culinary experience from a local restaurant. The Base also uses local suppliers and gives back to the community. If you are in Leven you will not go wrong having a meal there. Or if you fancy popping in for a drink, they have beers, wines and cocktails. A big thumbs up from us.

Whilst in Leven, we were looking for a place to have a bar lunch. We noticed Base, but we weren't that fussy for a pizza or pasta but went in anyway. To our surprise, they have a full menu, I ordered the large fish and chips, and my wife ordered the small mac and cheese with lattes. The lattes came out soon afterwards, and finally, an establishment that serves hot lattes, well done! There is nothing worse than luke warm coffee. Then the food came out, excellent, no complaints whatsoever the fish was perfectly cooked, the chips were really nice, the mac and cheese the same, well done chef! Although the mac and cheese was the small portion, it was still a good-sized plate full, more than enough for lunch. The servers were polite, prompt, and well presented. The eating area, although not the largest, was thoughtfully set out so as to not feel cramped. The toilets were very clean, well done, the person who looks after these. There are free car parks around the corner and down behind the High Street a short 5 minute walk away. There is on street parking outside, but this is time limited and is patrolled by Fife Council Parking Attendants, so keep an eye out. I can highly recommend eating here, we were lucky to be able to walk in and get a table, but it would be better to book in advance to guarantee a table, especially if there are four or more eating.

Stopped in hoping for some lunch and managed to get seated, didnt have a booking. Nicely decorated comfy seats but had a wobbly table, soon sorted with a napkin under the stand. Decided on lattes and diluting orange and soda water, mains only, fish n chips for the hubby, lunch plate size of mac n cheese with chips and salad for me. Sorry to say the side salad isnt what i would call it, plenty of sliced cucumber, sliced spring onion and some mixed salad leaves with sweet chilli sauce! Proper salad dressing please However...... Everything else was gooood! Perfect portion for me and tasted really good, hubbys fish was cooked to perfection 👌 . Would recommend here but best to book as it was really busy. Just to finish off, these were the best lattes we've had... piping hot and the prices very reasonable. A must try!!!

Quick lunch all the food was off the lunch menu I had steak pie chips and veg, generous amount of steak for the price. All in all pretty decent place.

First time for me but not for mum, wee treat pre-mothers day! Food was delicious and piping hot, wasnt too fast service but gave us time to digest starters. Service was impeccable and the staff were welcoming and very pleasant. Desserts lovely too, mine was cold in middle but hey ma eyes were bigger than my belly so took rest home lol. All in all superb and we'll defo be back, well worth the money.

Booked ahead but still waited 45 minutes for 2 pizzas. We had a baby with us so ended up getting it to go so she could nap. Pizza wasn't worth the wait either unfortunately, would have been better driving the 30 minutes to Mozza in St Andrews as they make a much better one in 15 minutes.

Lots of room for improvement. Waited 45 minutes and pizza really needed much better quality ingredients to be good. Tasted like a kebab shop pizza with the poor quality mozzarella and sauce. Too much oregano and couldn't taste the tomato. If quality were to improve I'd be a regular.

Found this place while in leven for an appointment, never used to be there when we lived in leven, menu looked right up our street, food & service really good, well cooked & filling, pizza served to table behind us smelled cracking too! clearly doing something right too as it quickly filled up, which is good to see as we’re in the industry too. have rebooked for next time we’re in leven

Finley was on the ball, checking in every so often, and sourcing some soy sauce for my girlfriend's rice (although to be honest he was a bit thrown for a second). Chili Con Carne was thoroughly enjoyed, cheese and bacon Dirty Fries were lovely, and deserts were amazing! I was set on the Oreo sundae but was very jealous of the Salted Caramel Blondie Cheesecake my girlfriend ordered.

The food was delicious. We were pleasantly surprised that it did not have much fried oil and it was all cooked on the spot. The staff was friendly.

Visited last week when staying in Leven. Wasn't impressed although they had some good wines. Service - took ages for a pint to be brought to table. Starter and main came out together (only myself and 2 other guests in restaurant) and waitress sat me next to a dirty table which she then cleaned for what felt like forever. Smell of disinfectant ruined the wine. Like I say wasn't busy so why was a table left dirty? Food - the bruschetta was fantastic, fresh and lovely bread. Served with a salad garnish with spicy sweet chilli sauce over it, ruined. If chef thinks this is good god help him. Pizza took a wile. Looked authentic. Tomato sauce over powered with oregano and the mozzarella was of poor quality making this a poor pizza. Decor and layout lovely has potential.

Really poor. Waited over 45 minutes for food after ordering. The bun of the chicken burger was so burnt that's all you could taste. The "salad" on the burger was a slice of lettuce and some raw sliced onions and it was dry beyond belief. The pulled pork was so salty most remained uneaten and the chips were terrible. Finally, the curry was tiny and seemed to be more of a tomato Ragu. No idea how this can take so long to cook as everyone seemed to be waiting similar times. Most chefs should be able to clear simple orders like this from the pass in half the time. The only positive is we know not to go back.

After read the reviews we thought was a good place to bring my father in law but the reality was very disappointing. We waited 45 minutes to be served, nothing special just dishes from the daily menu. The bun of my husband’s burger was almost cremated, in fact the taste wasn’t good because the burnt bread, my pulled pork was so salty I can eat just half, and the curry wasn’t very tasty, more a ragú than a proper curry. Nothing we can do about, just our experience. A bit disappointed but our choice our penitence. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lunch yesterday with a couple of friends.. food was good 👍 however when the waiter came and collected our plates we weren’t asked if we wanted more drinks (which we did) we thought we would ask for more when he came over with the dessert menu however this never came … he never approached our table again .. opportunity missed as we wanted both drinks and desserts … the bill was paid and we went to the Cale to have more drinks and a pudding …. Bad Show ….

Fish was lovely chips bit over done, mushy peas were just pees smashed definitely not the same as mushy peas, tartare sauce was well cannot say as it would not be allowed, so all in all just ate the fish think a will stay with agenda food amazing 🤩

Hidden gem in Leven Well well i happened to be at a lawyer in Leven today and passed this restaurant on the way back to the car and the smell was amazing we had curry and steak pie very generous portions and may i say not expensive our server was polite defiantly try this wee cracker you won’t be disappointed.

Food was lovely But waited over 50 minutes for one starter which was only nachos. 2 tables came in 15 minutes after us . They received there starter and main meals before we even got our starter . As a chef I know it can get a bit hectic at times. But it was not that busy all we got told is we've just got a new kitchen fitted. Nachos does not take that long then waited about another 20 minutes for our mains. I have had lunch here before I could not fault it that's why I returned to have lunch with my mum but sadly very disappointed. Not sure if you have new management that has taken over if so they need to sort out the service , and how you managed the check that goes through for the Chefs . Again I couldn't fault the food but the waiting time was very poorly.

Absolute hidden gem of a place tucked away in Leven. Excellent service and tasty Italian food and drinks (Peroni on tap). Generous portions. Relaxed, friendly and modern atmosphere. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Not dog friendly - which is a shame for breakfast and lunch!

Stopped in for breakfast, has one of the most comprehensive breakfast menus in the area at a reasonable price, food was good quality and was juce and hot. I would certainly eat here again. Service was also very good.

Terrific pizza... wanted to eat in but because it was 1 minute past 8... not possible despite other people waiting at tables for there food. Whilst I wanted fir my take away... there was being served... Shame because pizza was delicious
