The exterior of the building is beautiful and components the surrounding area nicely, as is the interior. However the stock they have is very disappointing in my opinion. There wasn't much diversity in the styles on offer and some of it was eyebrow raising.

Lovely coffee and teacakes. Busy day, so service was as prompt as they could make it.

I love the furniture shop it can be a bit pricey but the furniture is unusual and quirky and great quality and the cafe is my go to place in Teesside park the food is excellent and service great and in summer there's a rooftop area to sit out on which is a great place to chill with a coffee before or after a shop at Tpark

Don't waste your time with Barkers. Their disgraceful. On my third sofa now, which they assured me was going to be to the standard it's meant to be. As the first two were shocking. When third one arrived it was just as bad as first 2. Now I'm left with no options and trapped into them. Barkers have offered us a token gesture discount to keep the sofa with the damages, or change sofa for an alternative range.....with them of course. But they dont have anything else we like. These are not options. I've been extremely patient with them over the last 12 months and offered them the opportunity to make me a happy customer, but they have failed miserably. All the days off work I've had to take to allow their service team to assess the issues, at least 4 times now. I've told them I'm ordering a new sofa elsewhere and they can take theirs back when my new sofa arrives, but they said they want to collect within 2 weeks which leaves me with no sofa, or they'll charge me for usage, after these liberty takers took up to 5 months with the third sofa. This is how they are happy to treat you as a customer. After their failings. I'm now having to go through Trading Standards and the Ombudsman. Hopefully I'll get a better resolve that way. Barkers, you are despicable

Expensive for veneered wood. There are better quality shops at cheaper prices than B & S. I'm surprised there are still so many gullible people out there buying from there.

Had an amazing experience at barker on stonehouse with the friendly staff. We bought a wonderful bed frame and mattress and we were not pushed to buy out of our budget. The bed was simple to assemble and is such good quality. Definitely much better than a lot of other furniture companies for service, quality and price!

We decided to go to Barker and Stonehouse in Teeside to purchase a sofa as bought items of furniture over the years and found them very satisfying, Didn't take long to find the sofa and foot stool we liked with the help of the very kind and helpful David McCulloch so a big thank you to him , we are looking forward to our purchase arriving, thank you once again David for your help date 14th January 2023.

Lovely shop to browse. Some interesting and radical designs. Far nicer than the other chain furniture shops. I'm not sure you can justify buying furniture unless there is at least a 50% discount. Great restaurant above this one, as you ponder on the thought.

Went looking for furniture with my wife and didn't find anything but overpriced tat. Not recommended at all.

Nice staff at point of sale, very friendly. But absolutely horrendous aftercare, if you don’t live locally good luck getting your goods. Told them I won’t be able to get an item delivered on a Friday, so when is it rescheduled too? Another Friday. Want to know what time? You only know the day before. But what happens if you can’t get the furniture that they are unable to deliver? You need to ask for permission from the person that sold you the item. So even though you haven’t received the item you need their permission for a refund!

Ordered a bed from Barker & Stonehouse with a delivery expected week of the 25th July, this was first pushed back to the 11th August and now the end of August. Simply isn't good enough.

Uninspiring and dull selection of furniture. We were very disappointed. Also everything looked like it needed a good dust and polish. A wasted journey 😩

We recently bought 2 leather armchairs from Barker and Stonehouse at theirTeeside Park site , the staff weren`t at all pushy and we found what we wanted . The delivery guys Jamie and peter were very helpful. Unfortunately in the evening we found a small defect in one of the chairs we took some photos and contacted the store ,they didn`t quibble and a replacement was arranged . When the replacement chair arrived the guys, Mathew and Steven inspected the chair and the exchange was made . The split in the material was only 1c and was easily missed so we don`t have any problem with this company . Alls well that ends well . I recommend this company .

Wonderful showroom. Lovely furniture well laid out. Great, friendly staff but, everything is quite expensive. If you're on a budget give this one a miss.

Always shop here for our furniture, but was a bit taken back when after ordering our patio furniture, and paying a deposit, only to get a phone call a week later saying that they have lost it and can no longer supply said furniture. Was given full refund . A week later we were then told they have found it again , but unfortunately we had then gone else where for furniture.

AVOID Purchased a mattress which I looked at in the store. It arrived and was nothing remotely like the firmness or comfort as the one in the store. No help or support from the business other than to leave it 90days to see if it gets better. Customer service is a zero.

Some great choices some strange in my opinion but everyone's taste not the same. Certainly worth looking as large displays in store.

They have a lovely showroom selling items that they don't have. Some items have a delivery time of 5 months....this means that even if the product is being made in the backwaters of China...they still haven't started making it........

I really loved the broad variety of furniture and very unusual decorating ideas. However... Plus - quirky, fancy, different, off the beaten track Minus - the prices are indeed something else too, and the articles don't really cater for each type of budget which is a shame

A huge impressive superstore with its own cafe and toilet facilities. Loads of choice and very accessible off the A66. On the edge of Teeside Park. Normally don't like shopping or browsing but a really pleasant experience without any hassle. The staff were brilliant and not pushy

Disgusting behavior - Price gouging - I am reporting to trading standards. We have spent thousands with Barker and Stonehouse over the years and I'm shocked and disgusted at the way we have been treated. Bought a very expensive sofa but forgot to buy the optional headrests. No problem you would think?... My partner called up to buy the headrests and was told that she can buy them but at twice the price that they are listed on the B&S website as! When she questioned this the customer service member put her on hold and then came back saying they have called the manufacture and they said that the headrests can't be bought separately from the sofa because the leather won't match... This is a total lie: 1. They were, just minutes ago, happy to sell them for double the price. There was no make-believe problem with the suppliers at that price. 2. This is a modular sofa system designed to be expanded 3. You can buy the headrests from other sellers online with no problem. Which is what I will be doing. 4. The manufacturer isn't making the optional extra headrests out of the exact same leather as each sofa in the hope that they will be sold with it. We bought the quick ship sofa that only comes in 2 colors because they are already made up and ready to deliver to customers. We also bout an ottoman separately and that matches just fine... But the appalling service continues: My partner ended that phone call confused and upset. When she told me about it I went online and bought the headrests on the B&S website. The money left my account but I didn't receive a confirmation email for the order. I sent an email asking bout this and I then received my order confirmation. But the next day without any communication at all from B&S they just canceled my order and refunded the money. So after spending thousands on a new sofa, and many more thousands over the years, we were lied to, on the receiving end price gouging, and not communicated with. Safe to say we won't be going back and I will be reporting this matter to trading standards.

The men who delivered our sofa's left a giant pile of packaging behind when i said they should take it with them. Their answer was no room an the van? And that they would have to unwrap them before they set off? I messaged the shop via social media and they just said stop moaning, and were blocking you. Never going back ever.

Nocr cafe meals good furniture

The staff at the Teesside Park are helpful knowledgable and patient when ordering furniture during the Covid period. What is very poor is their customer service when organising delivery and workmanship when assembling furniture. Today I awaited fitters to return to rectify poor workmanship and they just didn't turn up despite a confirmatory email. I recommend clic and collect for small items and look somewhere else for larger furniture. Too many mistakes and too many excuses. frustratingly poor customer service.

After spending several thousands of pounds on various items we decided to very recently buy a complete bedroom furniture for our master bedroom, we then decided to go back for the same for one of our guest bedroom. I asked if they would consider having the second wardrobe at the same price previously paid only 3 months ago for the first (just a pounds less) it was a firm no by the sales person, I asked if the store manager would reconsider, he was working on his laptop on the sales counter which he rudely never even raised his head to acknowledge me or even speak to me. If it wasn’t for my wife I would of walked out. Very poor customer relations although they are ready to pounce on you as you walk in!!! Re update, after a conversation with the head office it’s seems it’s ok for store managers to treat you with utter contempt and ignorance, what a joke this and this is my last hard earned pension ever being spent there.

Thats another purchase, going to have to stop going here... 😂
