Bar One in Highland

What a find! We were a little late to make a reservation, so we just walked in about 6:30 on a Tuesday. We were able to immediately sit at a table in the bar area (there are only 3). We had a buffalo mozzarella and tomato salad and the rustic sour dough bread. Just perfect. For entrees we had the sea bass and the filet, both exceptionally prepared. For desert the crepe and maltese ice cream. Every course was the best we have had since we landed on the island. The service was great and even helped us decide what to order. Her recommendations were spot on. Just a superb job from chef, to service to house wine. If you’re in Inverness and tired of the same old pub food, give this place a try. You will not be disappointed. Keep up the great work!!

Popped in here after eating in the Royal Highland hotel for some after dinner cocktails. It’s an absolute haven for delightful cocktails. So much so we returned the following night. Braw Aye 💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

My partner and I fancied a few cocktails and came across Bar one. It was a Tuesday night so was very quiet but it very much worked to our advantage! Fraiser was very skilled and made cocktails to our taste. His knowledge is second to none and clearly knows his flavours. His recommendations based on our tastes where amazing! The theatrics, knowledge and cocktails was perfect! You made our night Fraiser and are very talented! Thank you!

We went to a cocktail making masterclass for my birthday last night (Sat 10th Sept) and it was our second one this year. It’s great value and as always Lucas is a great teacher. We all made the mermaid cocktail and it was so good. The Drumstick cocktail needs to be added back on the menu, Bar one isn’t bar one without it. The new cocktail is good but you need to add the old classics back. We even seen people come in and then leave when they realised the old menu wasn’t there. Still a bar one loyal but #bringbackthedrumstickcocktail

Possibly the worst cocktails I've ever had, ordered a mojito and a strawberry daiquiri but mojito wise the alcohol content tasted like the same as an all inclusive Spanish rum, non existent while no proper strawberries came near the daiquiri let alone any alochol. £20 wasted on cheap drinks that weatherspoons wouldn't even serve

This Bar Never Fails To Amaze Me. Anytime I’m In Inverness For Business I Pop In For “1” Drink & End Up Staying For The Evening. Tonight Was Another Level. I Arrived For My 1 Drink & Before I Knew It The Staff We’re Making Me A Special Pasta Which Was Outstanding. I Also Found Myself In The Middle Of The Bars Kiki Night Which Is A Night To Encourage LBBTQ+ & Friends To Meet Up. This Is An Absolute Game Changer For Inverness. What An Absolute Pleasure & Jess & Fraser Are A Credit To This Bar.

Great experience at the cocktail masterclass with Lucas. A group of 6 workmates on a day out in Inverness and this was a perfect addition to our day. Lucas was a great host, made us feel totally relaxed and was great at teaching us how to make the cocktails....despite a spill or two! Fantastic way to spend a few hours and great value for money. Will definitely be back.

Saturday 4th we had a cocktail making class for a hen party, it was a great day and Lucas was a great teacher. We will definitely be booking to do this class another time. You get a welcome drink and to make 2 cocktails for only £25 per person. Thanks again, we are all big Bar one loyal fans 🍹

Happened upon this place luckily because I was super hungry. The bartender, a super cutie, took great care of me and introduced me to some great local Gins. Meatballs and soup were great too!

Popped in for a cheeky cocktail and ended up with tasty pizza too. Also found the staff lovely! They were attentive and friendly. As soon as our glasses were empty they cleared them and asked if we had enjoyed them, before politely asking if we needed anything else. The answer YES...more cocktails please! These came quickly and each was well made. The bar staff had good attention to detail. We will be back xx

Very lovely bar located in the heart of this little city. Just across from the railway station it's a must for visitors to Inverness. Super staff, amazing cocktails and superb coffee. They have a limited but tasty menu and for those that want more of a meal they have a sister restaurant and bar just a, short walk away. Today I tried their new creation "Make Love Not War' a Ukrainian vodka and subtle blend of ingredients making a special and memorable drink. .

We were in Bar One last night for cocktail making for our friends 40th could'nt fault then we had an amazing night Lucas was our barman for the night and he was amazing nothing was too much he explained everything in detail and was patient throughout with everyone. Highly recommend the cocktail making class to anyone.Will be returning in the future.

We had a cocktail making class booked. And this did not disappoint. Our barman was Lucas and he was amazing. From start to finish he was professional and make this experience so enjoyable. We received a welcome drink and got to choose any 2 cocktails from the menu. We also had the nachos after and Stayed for a few more drinks. All the staff were very friendly and nice. We enjoyed our afternoon and would highly recommend

Phoned up to reserve a table and was told just to come down - they had a couple of tables free by a very friendly lady on the phone. We arrived and were seated and given menus for cocktails. It was an amazing menu - we struggled to choose. There were classics such as cosmos , pornstar martinis etc… but then there was so many others to choose from. Some were created by the staff that worked there which I sampled a couple. I was like a kid in a sweetie shop. Everyone working there was so friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. The lovely gent that took our orders was so fun but professional- service was amazing but not intrusive, which I think is a difficult thing to balance. We went in for one cocktail and stayed for three - think that speaks for itself. This is a cocktail bar that could outdo some on George St in Edinburgh. I love a good cocktail and great service and totally recommend.

Forgot to write this from Summer 2021. Great staff, couldnt do enough for my wife , daughter and self. Drinks were limited due to supplier/delivery issues but they soldiered through, giving us a great end of evening.

Before Covid we were regulars at Bar One, it was always excellent for cocktails and atmosphere. We loved it.We were spending a weekend in Inverness and decided to have afternoon cocktails at our favourite bar. What a disappointment. I’m really, really disappointed in the quality of the cocktails today especially as they’re still priced around £8-£8.50 each. The Drumstick cocktail came without the legendary drumstick. The Bubblegum Daiquiri used to be a work of art, lovely blue colour in a shaped glass with popping candy on top. This one was a watered down version which tasted NOTHING like the version before with no popping candy. It really didn’t taste anything like it should. We would normally stay a few hours and have a hefty bar bill but due to the quality of the cocktails today we decided to leave and I’m not sure we will return. I was so looking forward to being back here but left feeling disheartened. We won’t write Bar One off, we will give it another try next time we are in town but it really needs to get back to the high standards it once had.

Me and Mum popped in for a soft drink but decided on something a bit stronger. Service was excellent. I had a Christmas cocktail and Mum had lager. Matt the bar man was very polite and we enjoyed watching him expertly mix cocktails. Great entertainment. Thanks Matt , have a lovely Christmas.

Bar One used to be a favourite but our recent visit was very disappointing. We booked a table for four people on a Saturday afternoon for 2 hours. It was quiet with about 4 empty tables by the window and we asked if we could be moved to the window seats as they placed us right by the toilet. We were told all the empty tables were booked for an hour later so we decided to stay by the toilet seating area as we had booked for 2 hours and we didn’t want to move. I ordered a margarita and was told they didn’t have any salt. My friend went to the toilet and told me it was minging, flooded and very unhygienic. You didn’t have to be in the toilet to experience that! We only stayed for one drink. To top it all on the receipt we had been charged £1 for 2 strawberries. I really like this bar and the staff are lovely but they really have to up their game if they expect repeat customers.

Booked at 4.30 online but discovered they didn’t open till 5 although my booking was all confirmed. We had a bottle of wine and 2 charcuterie platters. The platters were more of a little side plate with very little imagination and priced at £11 each. Not good value and so disappointing as there for a day visit on the train for my husbands birthday. The eat out deal was questioned and only then did the member of staff acknowledge and take the appropriate price off. Still cost us £31 and not at all worth the money come on u your game.

Nice fresh food - I’ve only tried the pasta, but it was well balanced and Al dente. The other options looked nice too. The cocktails I’ve tried were good, I’ve also tried a mock-tail which I liked. The waitress I think perhaps a manageress (blonde tall lady) , was very pleasant to talk to - although it was busy she made the effort to serve me and made me feel welcomed. Thank you!The venue still adhered to covid precautions which were appreciated. Nice place overall - definitely be back next time I’m up north.

Best Nachos we've ever tasted, followed by Chicken Buffalo pizza with a bottle of Chilean Merlot. Had cocktails to finish off. V,G.

Tried a few different cocktails and none of them tasted particularly great. Disappointing as they are not cheap. The food was bland. The servers were attentive and came to check on us regularly for more drink etc. Wouldn’t go again though as the cocktails and food aren’t worth the money.

Visited last night, found cocktails magnificent especially Millionaire Shortbread and lemon meringue (pictured) which was a great experience. Staff very welcoming and helpful especially Evalina.It was great to see hygiene guidance being adhered to, tables and chairs were wiped down after people left, hand sanitiser and masks encouraged on entry. Tables were suitably distanced and it felt comfortable to be there during current times. Well done to all involved.

Visited today with my wife as celebrating our 3 year wedding anniversary, from the sides to the perfectly made cocktails which speak volumes themselves to the great staff. Made it a great memory to the start of a great day. Thank you

No draft beers at all, ordered large spritzer with ice in a large glass and a large glass of just wine arrived, the bottle of corona I ordered was warm. Staff are very pleasant and trying to work with what they have.Perhaps I arrived at the wrong time who knows

Went here for pizza and was so disappointed. The place was lovely service was good. The pizzas were not as described, the bases were bought in, lacked toppings and not the size on menu. Would not recommend this place

Very disappointed with this place. Pizza base bought in for start not home made.. Advertised at 12inch was only 10inch Toppings very scare. Need to up their game.

Booked online to have some dinner at 6 pm, got a taxi from our hotel to here looking for some pizza etc with our 13 yr old dinner only to be asked for ID for her and he could not find our online booking which I had to show him on email, explained we were only here for some food and drinks to then be told they had no pizzas etc, what a farce, would be helpful on their web page to tell us no kids were allowed but there is no mention of this, really ruined our evening as was sent on a while goose chase with recommendations of here and there, everywhere was booked out and thankfully we found a local Indian restaurant called Sam’s that accommodated us and they couldn’t be any more helpful so worked out ok in the end!

Had a great time hanging out here with my two pals. We were served by Evelina who was absolutely super & very friendly & efficient. The drinks are delicious & they also have a variety of non- alcoholic options which was great for some of our group. Definitely would recommend this place to a friend.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch with my daughter. Took advantage of the offer of buy one pizza, get one free. Plus a couple of lush cocktails. Everything was beautifully presented. We were served by Toni, very attentive, professional and super efficient.

My husband and I just had a excellent service from the Bar One staff from start to finish.We were greeted at the door by Evalana,(hope this is spellt right.my apologies if not.)she was so friendly and although we were early, she still took care off us.Ross was fab and very knowledgeable on cocktails.Anything we asked, Ross answered All the bar staff very friendly aswell.. Coming on to make a point that the service today from the blonde tattoed girl in glasses was exceptional today. I don't know if the management review these but she deserves a round of applause. Good beer, great service.

We booked a table for lunch and drinks. Throughout the visit I ordered a cider and cocktails and they were all very nice. Refreshing cocktails and a nice cold cider. Only downside is that my straw kept breaking so I couldn’t use it in the cocktail. I wonder if perhaps paper straws would be better for that reason? Staff were lovely and attentive. It seemed to be 2 that were serving the area and we were always checked on to see if we were ok. I loved the pizzas we ordered. Delicious in my opinion. I personally would have liked if they have already been sliced (I’m so messy when I do this myself) but that aside the food was still fab!!!!! Definitely chill out place that’s ideal for lunch or just drinks.

Popped in here after a days shopping while in Inverness.Met at the door by a very welcoming and friendly member of staff.He explained their Covid 19 guidelines and then showed us to a table, all tables were socially distanced which was great to see.Both members of staff were excellent, making us feel comfortable in our visit.Excellent service throughout.Will definitely return.

Where do I start? Was staying in the hotel across the road for a 2 night break with my husband and we decided to go to Bar One for a couple of cocktails before dinner.We were warmly greeted and shown to a table and the server took time to explain their COVID procedures - this was done in a friendly and sincere manner, and really instilled confidence that this place really cares about its staff and customers.Cocktails were excellent, so much so that we returned the following afternoon for post-shopping cocktails then again after dinner the same evening.All the staff we encountered were first class and the management should be very proud of their employees. I’ve worked in travel & hospitality all my life and really appreciate good customer service, and this was the best I’ve encountered for a long time.This was a long overdue break for us, in fact the first time we’ve been in a bar since February and I must say Bar One exceeded my expectations in every way.Can’t wait to return the next time we’re in Inverness and thanks for a great time.Robbie

Went out for a meal at 7:30, had to queue very briefly but the staff were pleasant, knew their Covid regulations and made every effort.The pizzas were excellent and served pretty quickly and the cocktail I finished (something chocolate I forget the name of) was delicious. Will certainly return.

Firstly I have to genuinely congratulate Bar One management and staff for providing a really clean, safe and well organised space.It was the only place in town that greeted us with a clear covid guidelines speech of the expectations, whilst still being warm and friendly! Great to see the toilets being checked by management regularly and doing their very best to continue providing a great atmosphere and fantastic quality cocktails! Thanks

My friend and I visited Bar One on a stopover night in Inverness. Despite the measures in place for Corona virus, we had an absolutely amazing time! Eva and Bethany had great banter and the table service was near instant; they really made our night, can't wait to return! Love from the Geordie boys x

This is primarily a cocktail bar but the pizzas are excellent. The staff are very pleasant and relaxed and very helpful. Easy going atmosphere and no pressure to buy or drink. A good place to relax if you don't want a huge menu to worry about.

If your in Inverness make the time to visit this place!!!The staff really are what makes this place special they are personal and inviting and make everything so relaxing. Even with social distancing measures in place it's such a relaxing atmosphere and so well ran you feel safe enough to enjoy your drinks a difficult thing to do in most pubs just now. As for the drinks they are too quality presentation is perfect every drink is identical and the staff have great suggestions if your not sure what to order, the additional of small individual hand sanitizer sachets on each drink just shows there respect and commitment to keeping there customers safe as well as making them relaxed.

Glad to see Bar One reopen. Solid covid plan in place one way system etc. Sadly theyve changes the days they offer £5 cocktails and certain signs havent been updated yet however there menu has. Still a great place for a drink

Visited Bar One with a group of friends during our stay in Inverness and we all had a fabulous time! The girls serving us were very friendly and accommodating, plus the food and drinks were delicious! Would definitely recommend.

Me and my boyfriend visited Inverness for a couple of days and after looking at reviews decided to try this place. The staff were so friendly and made us feel very safe and at ease as soon as we walked in. It was a great experience and the atmosphere was amazing! Everyone needs to try the lemon meringue cocktail!!

We booked a table to go here on Saturday 1st August as we love bar one cocktails. We were a bit apprehensive at first but we had no to reason to be as we all felt really safe. There’s hand sanitizer in certain places round the bar, one door in and one door out, not allowed to leave your table unless you smoke or to go to the toilet. The hand sanitizer pouches that were attached to our cocktails was a nice wee touch The staff are all really friendly and chatted away to us. The bar didn’t even feel crowded and we heard people getting turned away as no tables available. I’ve already booked us another table in September for my birthday night out.

We loved this place on our recent visit. Cocktails are lovely. The bar itself is nice and cosy. Staff are brilliant. So friendly and happy to stand and have a chat even in these strange times. Only thing for me that let it down was value for money food wise. The portion of nachos we got were on the small side for £10. Considering how much tortillas cost the portion could have been much bigger. I don’t think we would order them again but would most definitely return here for everything else great work guys and thanks for looking after us for 2 days.

Bar One is always an excellent spot in a great location. While my wife and I visit Inverness I leave her to do her shopping while I often go and indulge in their whisky collection. Last time I was there I was particularly impressed by the manager. I cannot remember his name (unfortunately) but he had fiery red hair but was soft spoken and loved my dog, Rosie. A well matured young man. I shall visit again when this crisis is over - and looking forward to it!

bar one has a great atmosphere and most importantly a vast selection of drinks and there cocktails are amazing. The staff were very helpful and they were a great laugh on the night. Couldn't recommend this bar enough.

Bar one is always our go to bar in the town for pre & post dinner drinks. There is always an extensive drinks menu and always some new cocktails to try. The attentive staff always go out of their way to make off menu drinks for us too! The team are always very friendly, welcoming and take the time to make sure you have the best experience possible. Comfortable clean bar with great inventive cocktails that all the staff are enthusiastic about. Definitely 100% recommend.

Great place to go for a chill night out. The cocktail is selection is very varied to appeal to different folk and you can even order a cocktail not on the menu. I recommend the Millionaire Shortbread and the Rum N' Coke off the menu. There's a special one called the Devil's heart that I tried which was great as well. Definitely one of my favourite bars in town.

Went to Bar One a few weeks ago and it was amazing! Tried a few cocktails which were all amazing but the Hugh Hefner was the best something I’ve never seen before. Definitely be back!

Chose this bar as it was near railway station and we had a couple of hours to wait on train...So glad we went in.. Friendly guy greeted us 4 auldies and made us feel relaxed and comfortable from the off..Great service, amazing £5 cocktails,local gins and tasty pizzas. Barman was so attentive he even sent us on our way with a box of ice and sliced limes for or G&Ts; for the train.. 10/10

I absolutely love bar one to bits, so much so I’ve been two weeks in a row. all the staff are so friendly and attentive and are well educated on the cocktails and are happy to give recommendations. The atmosphere and decor is so classy and cosy and the drinks are obviously amazing. Would highly recommend to everyone

Went in for a cocktail and stayed for several more! It’s a great bar, lovely atmosphere, and the drinks selection is brilliant. The best part of our night was definitely the bar staff, I didn’t catch his name, but the boy that was serving us was really good, attentive and quick service, and was so great not to have to go up and down to the bar; will definitely be back!

We came in as a small group, with another group due to be joining us later, and we enquired to the staff about any available tables. There were none at the time but the staff said to take a seat and they would see what they could do as tables became available.

Had loads of fun with my sister who had just turned 18 in November! It was our first outing together, and I'm glad we went to Bar One!

On a wet and windy day, walking in to such a welcoming bar is just what you need ! All of the staff were so friendly and the cocktails were amazing ! Pizza was yummy too ! Can't fault you guys, keep doing what you're doing.

We had lovely drinks on Friday the 27th of Dec around 20:30 and served by a nice waiter. But unfortunately a couple of waitresses came across extremely judgemental, making us feel uncomfortable and not wanted in the bar. I felt this was really childish and would hate for this to happen to anyone else visiting the bar. We also witness what looked like these girls were laughing at a young couple, which was quite uncomfortable to witness. Due to this I’d maybe think twice about visiting this bar again or recommend it to friends.

Recently visited Bar One with my family, Great selection of cocktails and excellent staff. Well worth a visit.

We recently visited our family in Muir of Ord and so the girls went shopping in Inverness, me and some of the family on the other hand decided to go for a drink and meet some of the locals. We popped into Bar 1 and straight away felt nice and warm, the decor was modern and stylish and place was spotless. The young lady who served me was very welcoming, chatty and friendly and even offered me a little free taste of the cider, as I didnt reconise the brand. We chatted to some of the requlars who were all very friendly so we stayed for a couple more drinks.

Waited 20 after speaking to the waiter before I approached him to say we were off. Two other groups came in and got served whilst we waited. Left to spend my money somewhere else.

Loved the whole atmosphere of this place. Very busy, with great music, cocktails and wine. Also shared a pizza which was of very good quality. Will return many times.

Just come from my new fav bar in Inverness, the barman Neil was on form, outstanding cocktails from a bright young man that understands customer service to the T. The drink were freshly made in front of me allowing a slight bespoke service with these drinks, will definitely be back and highly recommend. 10/10
