Bank Square Brasserie in Belfast

This is one of my favourite spots in Belfast. Service is always excellent; attentive but unobtrusive. Great wine list and beer selection (and cocktails). Shared the St. Marcellin cheese and bread starter. Perfect. Pan-fried Sea Bass with gnocchi and steak frite mains. Both were beautiful, substantial and we didn't need sides. Highly recommend.

Went along to Bank Street Brasserie's wine dinner event last night and had a lovely evening. I enjoyed all the wine pairings but my favourite was the Beaune 1er Cru. Every course was delicious. The scallop, fennel and langoustine was a highlight for me. Service was excellent throughout. We really enjoyed the talk by Bertrand Serrano in between the courses. A great wee night out ❤️

We weren't expecting this! The food was absolutely delicious. Fish cooked perfectly. Everything seasoned perfectly. Extremely friendly, attentive, engaged staff.

Fantastic food and menu choices. Great choice for vegetarian and vegans. The wine menu was great. The staff were very helpful, friendly and attentive. Managed to get a table for that evening and was not disappointed. Was recommended here by a local couple the day before we went. Would recommend for a relaxing dinner, good wines. Everyone enjoyed their steaks. And veggie options great!

A fairly reliable choice in Belfast, good quality ingredients & have always been able to stand by the service - definitely one of the best in the city in that regard . I was mesmerised by my first visit but the following 3 or 4 visits thereafter have never been able to live up to it so have to sacrifice a star for consistency. Recently opted for the prawn starter which used to be a sizeable & wholesome dish with fresh shell on prawns bouncing with flavour. They have folded on this fairly unique offering (for Belfast) and followed suit with the garlic caper butter prawns and seem to have sacrificed quality there. I still love this restaurant but it’s become less of a crowned jewel given the price point and dish consistency.

Food is excellent. Korean beef starter is lovely. They also see higher ends wines by the glass. Barolo and Beaune. Super Barsac. Best irish coffee ever.

All the way from Wales absolutely the best food experience in my life. Would travel back here just to eat here again. Service on all parts bar service management of front of house and especially the chef wow wow and more wows of this amazing place 👏

Charming restaurant. I had the turkey and ham which was delicious however the portions were rather small; the vegetables were sparse, one brussel sprout and one carrot!

The potato with onion soup was delicious! I loved it!

We hadn't dined here since it was revamped from Havana Bank Square so were keen to see if it was still good. I'd heard something about the chef taking it over so seemed likely. We were impressed. We both had starters and mains. I had the duck terrine and Christmas dinner. Both were excellent. I could have eaten more though. Atmosphere was good, a little chilly but it was stormy outside and maybe some low volume background music would add to the atmosphere. Our servers were lovely, don't know names but both men. We'll be back.

Recently had a late lunch there.everyone's food was beautiful. We shared starters. 2 people had the turkey and ham, 1 had a burger (reported as tasty & amazing) I had the sea bass. Honestly one of the best things I have EVER eaten. Salsa verde & kalamata tapenade. There was parmesan, but t didn't add anything to it - or detract. Roast potatoes kale & tenderstem brocolli.so beautiful. We all had desserts - 2 Christmas puddings 1 lemon olive oil cake & i had the cheese board. The plate for my cheese plate was heated, so the cheeses were slightly melted. Never had that before & i was delighted!! Cheeses were explained - enough for 2 tbh, but i managed ! Lol Really lovely staff and service was in obtrusive. Cant rave enough - wee gem of a place. Will be back xxxx

Nice place but food very overpriced for what you get. Went as a party of 4, 3 ordered ribeye steaks which came with about 8 chunky chips. We asked for pepper sauce and it came it a small jug smaller than an eggcup and was charged at £3.50 per jug. Nice friendly staff but will not hurry back as overpriced and I’ve ate nicer elsewhere for less.

Had the best vegan cauliflower burger! Rest of the food was also absolutely amazing.

Called in here for an early meal. Lovely surprise. There is a set menu for £22 plus A La Carte and we went for the set menu and a bottle of wine. Food was excellent, decor and service also excellent.

Really lovely place, went here for an anniversary meal as I had seen they had a great new vegan menu. I had the seitan burger and it was fantastic! The tables are nicely spaced so it's not cramped and the decor is beautiful with huge chandeliers and original (at least, looking original) ceiling roses and ornate painted ceilings. Vast selection of wines and really friendly service

We sat down to enjoy the food from the set menu. Well, we were amazed. The soup was the best any of us had ever eaten and the main course of confit of duck, wow wow wow. Better than any confit we had eaten before, and we go to france a lot. If we were here for longer we would definitely go back, and when we come back to Belfast this restaurant will be top of the list. Try this place, you will be amazed. Thank you for sick a wonderful meal.

What a fabulous meal with such friendly service. We had the set menu which had excellent choices and was very good value. All the dishes were delicious and we were even treated to extra portions of the soup which was a particular highlight, roasted Jerusalem artichoke with truffle. Highly recommended and thank you.

Bank Street Brasserie provided the best experience (food, service, atmosphere) during three weeks of travel in England, Scotland and Ireland. Chef handled the challenging allergies of one person in our group and the three of us enjoyed over-the-top meals. Service was gracious and friendly, and the music added to a very enjoyable evening. Only disappointment was it was our last evening in Belfast!

Best meal and experience we have had during our three week trip in the UK. Highly recommended.

This place deserves a Michelin star..! Seriously, why they do not have one is a mystery. There should be a waiting list to get in here. The food is that good..!! The bone marrow burger was one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. Not sure you can do any better. The Duck was fantastic, perfectly cooked, rare in the center. The 2 appetizers set the stage for the main course and we were not dissapointed. Sourdough bread and a crispy beef. Service was fantastic, nice atmosphere. Just nothing negative to say. This was a random stop and one of the best random stops we have made in quite a while.

Seen this place on Trip Advisor, we were not disappointed. Top Marks.

Excellent meal - only regret is I never visited sooner. Beautiful restaurant with a chill vibe and cozy, fun atmosphere. The goats cheese starter was nice, and the bone marrow burger was dressed delicious, and tasted excellent. The side salad wasn't an afterthought wither, and was put together to compliment the burger nicely. The Gin bramble was great as well, prepared very nice. Service was friendly and top notch. Pay this place a visit !

First, Connor and Kayla were fantastic hosts! A welcome on our first trip to Belfast. This was the best meal we had in two weeks in Ireland. It was a fine surprise. The two local Heany beers we had were delicious both. Steak was perfection. Coley as well.

We are here after a long drive from Galway. We were looked after by a lovely chap who was really responsive and kind with my elderly parents and their requests. He recommended the Spectre stout to my dad, which he still raves about. Thank you for your kindness to some random Aussies traveling through and your suggestion to see the art exhibit.

The food is amazing, we ordered the Thai crispy beef as the main and it is the best dish I have ever eaten in Northern Ireland . They also ask before we come in if we have any allergies which is really good because I have many allergies. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is very nice.

Absolutely favorite place to eat in Belfast! They do an amazing job with gluten free food. I have a gluten allergy and I had the best experience here.

Bone marrow appetizer is a must! For the main course, recommend the pork chop, I think it was the best I’ve ever eaten- ridiculously tender and beautifully seasoned. Sea trout exceptional. Duck breast pink was beautiful, but the leg was a little overcooked. Leah, our waitress was phenomenal.

This is our favourite place to go for dinner ! It has really become our go to when we fancy eating out, all of the staff are always very nice and attentive to the customer in a relaxed way that make you feel at home. The vegan/vegetarian menu is AMZING! It’s lovely to see somewhere with options that feel quite different from others. Always a great experience

Nice food and atmosphere but our waiter needs walked out and taught a lesson in manners (never mind service). Man behind the bar was great, friendly and helpful.

The staff were very accommodating and attentive. The food was great. The duck was fantastic and the rib eye was done just right. Drinks were good.

Great food. We just got back from a week traveling through N. Ireland and Scotland. This meal was one of my favorites. The duck cassoulet was outstanding, the curried cauliflower soup delicious and the sticky ginger pudding topped it all off. I would highly recommend if in the area.

What a delicious dinner we enjoyed with friends on our first night in Belfast. After a long day of driving & walking about the city, what a perfect place to relax with a cocktail. We had the goat cheese, tapenade, boudin noir salad, pork chop, beef burger, duck cassoulet & scallops. Everything was cooked perfectly. Warm & welcoming atmosphere. Leah & Agatha took good care of us. Merci!

We were welcomed with a smile by the whole team. The children were delighted with their set meals, which the parents also found very inexpensive, with dessert included in the lunch menu at £7. We can only recommend!!

If you are a vegan in Belfast you have to go to this place. We had dinner last night in Bank Square Brasserie and we will definitely be back. We are both vegan and asked if two of the vegan starters could be made up into mains as they sounded great. We had vegan chicken satay skewers and salt & chilli vegan duck. It was the nicest meal I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Very reasonably priced. The service was excellent from the waiter and the host. The portions were more than generous. A great drinks menu. There were vegan desserts too but we were so stuffed we didn’t have any but will definitely try save some room next time.

No expectations as just googled restaurants near me. Got to say, the food blew us away..... My wife said it's one of the best burgers she's had and my fish was proper next level, the batter was on point 👌 service was very friendly and music was chilled.....I'm no food critic but will definitely be back with friends.

Visited on 31/01/2024 for a birthday dinner. The food was some of the best we have eaten. The service was fantastic. We both loved everything about the Bank Square Brasserie and will definitely return when we next visit Belfast.

Bank Square Brasserie is a centrally located restaurant with all the classic dishes but with their own twist. We were looking for a restaurant which could seat 12 and the team at Bank Square were more than happy to accommodate us. The interior is modern and super inviting and the menu is fabulous, especially the vegan/plant-based menu - it is the best I have seen for a non-vegan restaurant in Belfast to date. There are a selection of starters, mains and desserts, so definitely not the standard beyond meat burger at the end of the menu 😅 We started with the Oyster Mushroom 'Scallops' which were small but packed a punch. The flavours were balanced perfectly. We also had the Korean Fried Cauliflower Wings. These were some of the best I have ever had! Sometimes with Cauliflower it can be overcooked and go to mush, whereas these had the perfect amount of bite and a light crunchy batter with the sweet BBQ sauce - delicious! Next we had the Salt N' Chilli Mock Duck which was rich, salty and super crunchy. With the lime and chilli mayo and chips it went down well. We also had the Mushroom Seitan Burger, which had a double patty, some vegan bacon and cheese, giving more of a smash burger feel. The pickles and sauce really lifted it and overall was absolutely delicious, probably the best vegan burger I have had in Belfast. Even the chips were delicious and were like McDonalds french fries but done to a restaurant standard. Alongside all this gorgeous food we also had some cocktails. The selection wonderful and the price very reasonable. I had my first white Russian in years! They have almond milk white Russians here and it was so tasty. Overall as you can read from my tone above, I absolutely loved this experience. To make it even better I have to call out the fantastic service, we were served by Brendan who was brilliant. He made sure we had everything we needed but also brought his own character and banter which was much appreciated. This restaurant is fantastic top to bottom and is setting an extremely high bar for other restaurants in Belfast. This is a must visit if you have not been before, I myself will be going back asap! 😁

Really don’t understand the hype about the food. Small portions, plus didn’t think my burger was anything remarkable. Definitely does not warrant the price

I’ve been here twice now, once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times I’ve been here the toilet area has been really dirty, which makes me question what the general cleanliness must be like in the kitchen. It’s really put me off ever going back - the food, while ok, isn’t good enough to make me ignore poor hygiene

We visited late December for our work staff do and I was so impressed with the service, the staff and the quality of the food and cocktails. I had never been before and will definitely be back. Special mention to our server Brendan who was absolutely amazing and had a great sense of humour. The staff were all amazing and the food was quick :) Couldn't have been a better experience

AMAZING FLAVOURFUL FOOD for vegetarians which surprised me!! The vegan salt and chili duck blew me away!! My friends who had normal menu loved their food aswell, cocktails where amazing so was the atmosphere. Staff where attentive. No faults! Loved it!

We had an amazing experience! We had reservations for 8:45pm but arrived 30min earlier and they made all possible efforts to accommodate us. The ambiance is great, food was amazing, wine selection was great and the service was amazing. Our best dinner in Belfast!
