Bangkok - Thai Restaurant in Cheltenham

We came here for lunch on Monday 24th Mar'25 at around midday... It was nice and quiet. All staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We were impressed by great hospitality 🥰 We enjoyed our meal here. Payaya Salad (Som Tum Thai) and Chicken Mince Salad (Laab Gai) were super spicy as our requested. Tasted the same like food we had in Thailand. Salt & pepper chicken was hot and fresh. Sticky rice was lovely and soft. We also had Jasmine rice, small bottled water and small Coke. It was 44.77 £ incl 10% Service Charge which was normal for Thai restaurants in the UK. You'll get mint chocolate with your bill tho 🩷 We'll definitely come back. Highly recommended.

We’ve loved this restaurant for years so were a bit disappointed that the owners were moving on however we needn’t have worried. The new owners have carried on with excellent service and food.

My partner and I took my son and his wife for a meal for my daughter in law's birthday. The staff were very friendly and helpful. However, when we had all received our meals, my daughter in law tasted hers and it wasn't what she ordered. She loves spicy food and they served her a sweet and sour dish! They offered to change it but as we all had our meals, she decided it was too disruptive so decided to eat what she was given. Sadly she didn't enjoy it even though some dried chillies were brought to help provide more heat. They did sing happy birthday to her and gave her a free dessert but it didn't really make up for the error. To top it all, when we got home and checked the bill (yes we should have looked at the restaurant), we had been overcharged by £10. I did email and they offered to refund the overcharge but we had to pay for another meal for that so we decided not to return. All in all a very disappointing evening.

Arrived at 18:30 on a Friday evening, the restaurant at this point had only two other tables occupied, and remained under capacity until we left at 20:00. Good to see that portion control of the pancakes has improved, although presented in a bamboo steamer, they appear to have been microwaved and went cold very quickly. The duck was unusually quite dry for that dish. Something clearly went wrong in the kitchen, (as above the restaurant wasn't busy) two sizling dishes arrived, and after five minutes we had to find a waiter to enquire why the two other dishes people were waiting for, hadn't arrived ? We were told they were still being prepared and would be several more minutes, and as I indicated, that ment the sizling dishes were now at sub optimum temperature :( We were offered a free beer, (we declined) as I mentioned that wasn't going to make the sizling dishes any tastier. A portion of rice we hadn't ordered turned up with those other dishes and was turned away. The weeping tiger dish was a disappointment again, the sirloin wasn't great, and had been overcooked. The manageress apologised for their level of service, suggesting there was a mix up in the kitchen. We were presented with a bottle of wine as we left, and that gesture was appreciated. The wine list prices have become expensive. This is the second time, we've left feeling disappointed with the service, & we aren't now planning to return; but will instead now explore other Thai restaurant options available in Cheltenham.

A lovely meal at this restaurant which we came across when visiting Cheltenham. Very tasty, big portions and excellent service as well as being good value. A very enjoyable evening.
