Bangkok Pavillion in Dover

Last time I went they PMO with slow service 😡Took ages for meal to arrive, then another hour just to get the bill after finishing my meal. Food is really good, but service can be a hit or miss 👍 👎

We came to Bangkok pavillon with my partner last night after reading all these good reviews and it didn’t disappoint! The food & service were 10/10! ⭐️ if we didn’t live in London we would most definitely make this restaurant our go to place.

We dined in here and as always when we eat here, were welcomed with a smile. The food was excellent, the Thai wine was also fantastic. Reasonably priced, and a different offering to other restaurants in Deal.

After some really disappointing Chinese food in other establishments in Deal (horrible reheated dry rice and bland food), it was so nice to finally get some Asian food done well. This place is fantastic. The food is full of flavour and the rice is fluffy and fresh. We ordered spicy pork, rice, aubergine, wonton soup and sweet & sour duck. At last! A restaurant that isn't afraid to add spice to their food! The pork made my tongue tingle with heat! It was delicious. All the food was perfect, and the staff were wonderfully friendly. We will certainly be coming back.

My favourite restaurant in Deal. The food is always amazing and tasty, the staff are like family, so friendly and always have a smile for you. Love it here and always come to Bangkok Pavillion for special meals and evenings. We had mains, desserts and drinks/shots each persons bill was roughly £40-50!

Great little restaurant with good service and tasty authentic food. Enjoyed mixed starter plate, probably agree with some others that the satay could be better but overall hot and good with dipping sauces. Massaman and Red curries both flavoursome served in heated pots and on hot plates. Staff young, friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced considering the area and we preferred our meal here to the one we had in a more expensive bistro in Deal. Just one thing on a cold night add a layer as not too warm early evening although we did move tables and had a little mobile radiator which was kind.

If you are in Deal, you must visit Bangkok Pavilion. If not for the amazing food, then to meet the restaurant owner. A family owned business full of atmospheric delightful authentic decorative feel. The Thai owner was our host, and i found him warm welcoming and funny character. This establishment is His passion, and it shows with his engagement with his customers. I ordered the prawns and broccoli with coconut rice and a Bingha beer. The aroma as the food was served made me want to get stuck in. But i had to take a few photos first. A really nice restaurant, a friendly atmosphere, well worth a visit. Highly recommended !! BOOK IN ADVANCE to secure a table, especially over the weekend.

My friends and I travelled to Deal for a nice birthday day-trip away from London, and it was honestly ruined by this restaurant. One of the waiters, an older man, made violent racist remarks towards my Lebanese friend, telling her she’s “lucky to be in the UK because her country Israel is being BOOM BOOM BOOM BOMBED”, laughing and making “gun-like” hand gestures! I mean I can’t even believe that happened. Completely inappropriate and insensitive! He was also really grumpy about taking orders. Food was ok, but still should NOT have payed, and will never go back again. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The most beautiful staff running a beautiful business, I highly recommend this Thai restaurant for the lovely atmosphere and fabulous food, the staff however are the crowning jewel.

We went on a Friday evening. Service was great and the restaurant was very busy. Food came quickly. I was disappointed with chicken satay starter as I suspect the chicken was bought in frozen from bookers, not fresh chicken made in house. I didn't like the dumplings as the meat centre seemed processed, not very nice. Main course was better. Beef curry was amazing as was the chicken dish. So overall I think the food quality could be improved.

Thank you so much for an amazing service! We went without a booking and informed the staff that we had to catch a train soon. The food arrived super quickly and was delicious. After the amazing dinner, I accidentally left my backpack at the table and left. The server went running after us to give the backpack back. Thank you for going out of your way like this!!

Delicious fresh Thai food set amongst interesting decor. Staff were friendly and accommodating, our personal favourite was the tom ghai khar soup. All the food was wonderfully flavoured, the prawn toast and dumplings from the starters were very nice. I had the duck with garlic and chilli, served in a duck shaped dish, beautiful. It made for a lovely evening out for my birthday, we will certainly visit again when in the area.

We come over from Dover as often as we can. It's our favourite place to eat in the whole world. The seafood soup is absolutely of this world to the point the 2 of us have a serving for 4 everytime we come. Very well worth the money. Lovely people, welcoming & "Dad" is just wonderful. He makes our day every time we come over, so funny & friendly.

Visited again tonight. First class food and service as always.

What an excellent restaurant. Its really a hidden gem. Lovely and polite staff, varied and very tasty menu. We'll priced. At the North end of the High Street, almost hidden away.

Came here on the 25th March for a friend's retirement meal and the food was Delicious , I loved it staff were great and drinks were reasonable. I will definitely be visiting here again.

We’ve been a few times with friends. The food is very authentic and tastes delicious. The hostess is so funny, it’s worth just going in to see her! Great food and service, what more can you ask for?

Too many Thai restos have gone trendy these days which leave you thinking you could have eaten anywhere as there’s no atmosphere. This place is very much how Thai restaurants used to be. It has character, staff in National dress, some solid menu offerings and all at a decent price. Very pleased and will deffo return.

Absolutely delicious! We went to this restaurant last night as part of our visit to Deal and were really pleased with our choice. The place is very uniquely designed and made us feel like stepping into a whole new world; staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was super - we had the Bangkok delight platter for starters then some sweet & sour chicken and chicken with cashew plus coconut jasmine rice. Everything tasted fresh and had this homemade authentic feel to it. We also ended up getting some coconut roll and pandan cake for takeaway and had it as a delicious breakfast the following morning. Would recommend!!! Wish we had found it earlier so we could have gone every day of our trip 😁

I called up a week before and checked the booking was OK and they were definitely open for boxing day. They read out my details to me over the phone and said yes. I said are you sure, definitely open boxing day. And it was yes all the way. Turned up to them closed. We knocked and called and eventually a woman opened up. I explained all of the above and she said said sorry with everything I said and said yeah yeah yeah and not a lot else. I'm absolutely disgusted that I've been lied to. They clearly had all my details and couldn't be bothered to call me and say they weren't open. I am livid. My poor Dad and brother were so disappointed. We looked like absolute idiots walking round trying to find somewhere else to eat. The women didn't offer anything. She didn't really seem bothered either. Myself and family have been going to this restaurant over the years and we definitely won't be going back. No loyalty and clearly have no idea what they're doing and they frankly don't give a toss.

Had a veggie meal for tea. Was one of the best Thai meals I've ever had. Really great, would def recommend.

Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant, I didn’t know what to expect but it was very good. Friendly service, traditional deco and reasonable prices. Thai wine was also quite decent.

Watch out for the card trick when paying. We were overcharged £10 on the machine vs the printed bill. We spotted this outside so went back. They didn’t seem surprised and quickly promised to refund but we’re still fighting to get the £10 back. In the end we had to report the transaction as fraud so make a point of checking the machine amount and don’t assume, as we did, that it matches the bill. It was a disappointing end to a disappointing meal, which started with us being told we weren’t allowed to share the mixed starter so we had to order a starter each. This was followed by a really bland meal. The green curry had hardly any taste to it. Deal is a long way from Bangkok. The rice is outrageously expensive but in the positive the house wine is actually very nice.

Extremely dissapointed having heard so many good things about this restaurant pre covid. Had been really looking forward to dining there but the food quality was poor and a let down. Beef extremely dry and bland sauces. I'd not return.

A straightforward Thai/Asian restaurant offering a huge menu. Service was prompt and food was reasonable. One of the few restaurants in Deal open on a Tuesday night

This restaurant has long been a favourite of ours and our go to place when we have visitors or we have had occasion to celebrate, it has never let us down in the past however tonight was an utter disappointment.We arrived on time for a prebooked table but after being seated for over 10 minutes and being ignored had to ask for a menu. After placing our order we waited over an hour and still no starters let alone mains. I appreciate that fresh food takes time to cook but during this time we watched other people who had arrived after us being served promptly. In the end we gave up and paid for the wine, that had actually been served only to be met with what at best can be described as indifference from 2 of the waitresses. It would be nice to be able to comment on the food but we didn’t get any!

Found this place by accident. Food was excellent and good value. The soup starters worthy of a visit alone. Will be back.

We had an excellent meal on a Saturday night. Fantastic choice of dishes, I was looking for vegetarian options and there was plenty to choose from. Very good value for money, service was great, nothing fussy or pretentious. We were on a weekend trip but would definitely return if we're ever close by again.

This is such an amazing, authentic looking place. Staff were very friendly and helpful! The scaffolding out the front was a little eye-sore, but it's just external refurbishment going on at the time! The decor inside was exceptional and its like you've been transported to Thailand! The food was fantastic, I had Duck in Garlic and Chilli and the taste was exceptional! Would totally recommend to anyone!

This was a takeaway order. The food was nice and came as expected, but one main dish was missing from our order and when I called I was told ‘it was too late for a taxi to deliver’ the missing dish (it was 8:50pm). This is not really ok. Offered a refund but very disappointed with the service. No real apology.

A huge thank you to Jack, Big, A and the team at Bankok Pavillion for such a fantastic meal. I went here for dinner with my fiancee for a child free meal and what an amazing time we had. Service was fantastic headed by Jack and his team of wonderful waitresses and what superb food by Big in the kitchen. Thank you all so much for looking after us!

Whilst on holiday we made a reservation to eat here one evening, we were not disappointed. Yes, the outside is full of scaffolding but once inside we had great food and service, highly recommend but must book during busy times

Visited the restaurant with my friend. Had a great time here, the atmosphere was buzzing staff was attentive and very friendly. Always smiling and made us felt like we were part of the family. We ordered a set menu B and it was simply delicious. Very authentic and I would recommend everybody to come and visit this amazing Thai restaurant. You won’t be disappointed.

Fathers day dinner from children Been many times before prior to covid.In fact my favorite - thats why chosen for me. Food was delayed and tepid. Usually sizzling. Rice lumpy like glue. Staff polite as usaul but different to before. Perhaps change of management? However very disappointing food and occassion . Plates seving dishes cold hense cold food and meat leather like as if reheating over many periods and TBH very much below par. More so my kids as I commented as much when should pf grinned and bared it

Lovely service, mixed starter platter was good with enough different options. Liked the complementary thai crackers. Rice portions were huge so if you're not a huge eater, you could probably share one portion! 3 chillis on the menu are manageable as we were a bit worried about it!Menu had all the usual suspects, would say this is a sound place for slightly higher than average meal but nothing amazing.
