Really disappointing… no taste and cold.

Best Chinese food I’ve ever had, everything cooked so nicely and tasted sooooooo good. Really happy with this restaurant

our receipt said 20:18 and we received the food just before 22:00. We always have to wait a good hour for Banana Leaf but this was too long really. The quality was ok. Nothing special.

I didnt even receive my food £50 worth food dont answer the phone absolute joke

1st time ordering from here - will be the last!! Waited over 1hr 45mins, didn’t receive my delivery and the restaurant failed to answer any calls or reply to my voicemail that was left……. Thanks a lot!!

If I could leave zero stars i would! Ordered food at 7pm & had it delivered two hours later!! Called numerous times to be told "10 mins" "10 mins" after calling for 30mins to see where are food was! If you can't handle the pressure of being busy just turn off your delivery partners online portal!! Also tried to call back & was completely ignored! Utter rubbish place..avoid!!!!

Ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken, received over fried batter, no chicken at all, mentioned this to waitress not interested. Wouldn’t recommend or return.

I ordered from here over two hours ago and I still haven received my order. I understand it is new years eve, but my order delivery time has been moved three times.

We had 2 updates about a delay to the order. Came 30 minutes later than the scheduled delivery time.

Food was great as always but two hours for delivery is not acceptable, especially when the predicted delivery time when placing the order was between 40minutes-1hr

Had a lovely meal there for my birthday the food was just amazing and the quantity they bring out is so much.For the price you can’t go wrong. The staff were great and efficient and very friendly. I can’t wait to go back for a meal.

Been coming here for over 15 years so this review is long overdue! The buffet menu is such excellent value for money, even if, like us, you’re too full to take advantage of the opportunity to order more starters and mains! Am a big fan of the pork dumplings and they offer up some of the best prawn toast I’ve had with a noticeable layer of prawns. The duck in black bean sauce also deserves a call out with plump pieces of duck and a tasty sauce which isn’t cloying like some can be. Service is slick with hot plates and new cutlery and napkins for every course and there is always such a buzz to the restaurant which brings a great ambience (no music required).

My favourite restaurant, the food is always delicious and amazing value for money. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Would recommend this place to anyone living or visiting Hemel Hempstead.

Excellent food and service. We had the all you can eat from the menu. Everything was freshly cooked as we ordered. There was no rush and we enjoyed everything. We will come again.

Amazing food, lovely kind staff, fantastic value for a buffet. To come and get a massive array of delicious starters, along with soups, duck pancakes and mains all prepared to order- it really is too good to be true. As a family we come back as much as we can for the wonderful meal we get here.

food arrived 45 minutes early, they didn't update app so I knew it was on way! I always ordered the same food and nothing was like previous orders, very bland in flavour. salt and pepper ribs tasted old! very disappointed

I have been to many Chinese buffets, and had many Chinese takeaways but truthfully none compare to this. All we spoke about during our meal was how amazing it was, everything was full of flavour, wasn’t greasy, and the service was impeccable. During our last plate we felt so full we couldn’t finish, but because of how good it tasted we still didn’t want to leave the food incase it upset the chef. Best Chinese we’ve ever eaten at. And best buffet restaurant we’ve ever eaten at (including other food types like pizza etc.) We can’t wait to return! Highly recommend!

Poor experience. Ordered a mix of Chinese and Thai. Despite advertising otherwise, the Spice was non existent. The flavour was also bland. Prawns were rubbery and the whole order was just poor. Edible, but poor - and the Best thing I ordered was a can of tango. Maybe I should have ordered something else from the menu but I really don’t get the hype…

My family were visiting and wanted to eat at a Chinese Buffet. Banana Leaf was the only local restaurant I could find which offered an 'All you Can Eat' option, so I booked a table. The food was delicious - so much choice and good portion sizes. The service was first-class. And one extra little touch that impressed was the supply of 'warm,' fresh plates, and cutlery, with each course. In our experience, many more prestigious restaurants often serve hot food on cold plates! I have visited dozens of different restaurants, in many locations, over the years, and have to say that Banana Leaf stands out in terms of food quality, value for money and staffing. Even though the restaurant was very busy, we didn't feel.rushed, or, alternatively, forced to wait for our meal. We will definitely return and would recommend Banana Leaf for an enjoyable dining experience.

Eat as much as you like from the menu they don't try and Rush You the food comes out quickly and hot crispy dark ribs soup everything is excellent value about £16 pound person in the week And £18 at the weekend they have carlsberg export and San Miguel on Tap day also have Guinness in cans Wine is around £15 pound the bottle they have live music events here Live singers and stuff The staff are very friendly and helpful The place is kept very clean I've never had bad food here once You do need to book though can get very busy The king prawn wosabi is amazing The only problem is you normally full before you get to the mains as the starters are so good There is parking nearby near asdas and Iceland's but if you go at night you can park round the back for free It's a great way of trying new food the more of you that go the better as you can order lots of plates and try everything Great place to go for birthdays and celebrations Highly recommended

Went to the Banana leaf restaurant last night with my wife & kids. Been eating at Banana leaf for the last 16 years and never had a bad meal...Always fresh & flavoursome. Good food...Great quality...Good service. Friendly staff. Banana Leaf is the best value restaurant that my family and I have ever had. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Bon appetit.

Food was average but the service and attitude of staff deserve minus five star. I came there with 2 year and 6 years. They just offered all you can eat menu with cost around 12 pounds for kids. Even 2 years old! 2 spoon ful of rice cost 12 pound for our little one. Little did we know they were offering different menu with cheaper options to regular! Shouldn't they give us a choice? Besides, they didn't even helped us opening the door when I was struggling with buggy and another kids. The customer saw this and helped to open the door. Don't know how this restaurant gets 4+ reviews. I am sure most of them are not genuine.

Food was not good usually amazing

Had a 6pm table booked with some of my family members. Ist time ive been and never again . Had a long wait some of the food wasn't hot . Eventually got the mains 2hrs later in that time the car park time elapsed. Staff members were moaning as we kept asking how long for our food . Not my cuppa tea and wont return.

Food was average. Ordered spicy lamb, but got duck. Sent us another lamb but it was not spicy at all. When we mentioned this to the manager he got bit angry and was aggressive. It spoiled our family evening meals. Really disappointed

driver didn't use the buzzer, knocked on the bathroom window. a lot of the food was cold, the sweet and sour sauce was just like water and the salt and pepper chicken tasted awful and the chips were stone cold and inedible. very disappointed as this restaurant is usually fantastic

This food was appalling! it everything was tasteless, the rice was hard and the chicken balls were soggy , I have never had such bad food and I will never use Just Eat for this restaurant again, so so bad.

The food is great, my only issue would be that they clear your plates before you've finished, then ask what you want next without giving you time to decide. The wait for food was very slow. Hot plates arrive when you order but are cold by the time the food arrived. Good value for money but it takes a while.

Ordered for delivery through Just Eat. After an hour and 15 minutes it said my order was out for delivery, another half an hour goes by and suddenly it says delivered but we had not recieved our food and also my flat is only 7 minutes drive away from the restaurant. I called up and spoke to a very rude man who was very unhelpful. He would not take any ownership of the situation and just kept blaming Just Eat saying they were the ones who updated the order status. I said to him that its not Just Eat its them and whoever is controlling the order updates is not very good. When I told him that we had been waiting for nearly 2 hours for our food he said no and then went to check. He then came back and said he had spoken to the kitchen and the order is out for delivery, I advised that my Just Eat app said it was out for delivery 45 minutes ago (by the time of this part of the conversation) and he said "Well the driver has another delivery to make before yours!" to which I said "So after waiting 2 hours for my food it is going to arrive stone cold?!" To which the guy just replied "You can claim a refund through your Just Eat App". There was absolutely no apologies, no remorse and no trying to find a solution to make the situation better. By the end of the phone call I advised the man that this is the last time we will be ordering from them and that we will be writing bad reviews on every platform we can find and then hung up on him. Avoid this place at all costs!!! 2 hours wait for an order, cold when it arrived and very rude staff!!!

Terrible place, I only had my starter because the waiting times between meals was Terrible. Even paying for my starter and drinks was a long wait. I wouldn't waste your time.

Incredible food, delivered quickly and piping hot

Food was hot and all so tasty. Delivery was early which was also good. The crispy chilli beef was slightly tough, but the sauce was lovely. Highly recommend

You cannot fault the food at this place however a massive let down is the service from one of the waiters, rudely seated us, when we needed new napkins just threw them on the table not carefully placed or presented well at all, simple thing is if you don’t like your job don’t do it.

we ordered for a specific time so we could have a drink in the pub first. we had to get the driver to leave the food in the back garden! whats the point in ordering for a specific time if its ignored?

Ordered take away at 5.45. Now 8.03 it’s not arrived!! Called 3 times advised 1st at 7.15 was told it’s it’s on its way, 2nd time at 7.30, they are just waiting for driver! 3rd time it’s just left! This has gone hugely down hill 3 hours for a takeaway is a complete joke!

Not been for about 6 yrs. Its had mixed reviews but my review is its great value for money. Food was plentiful and well presented and cooked. They even have hot plates to serve the food on. I went on a Monday lunch and had the buffet. There is a cheaper option which I'm going to try on my next visit. Give it a try.

We eat quite regularly here but everytime the staff are rude and seem to resent you being there spending money. Went to eat there last night, there was 1 table occupied on the whole restaurant. My 6 year old wanted a table with a plate that spun in the middle they refused even though he got a little upset as he was excited to try it. Then as my son is 9 they wanted to charge him £24.50! He's also a vegetarian and they don't have the best selection. I explained he will only eat edamame, boiled rice and garlic brocoli but they insisted he would still have to pay full price. We then left and went to opuz across the road who were much more accommodating and friendly. Won't be back there again after this
