driver didn't use the buzzer, knocked on the bathroom window. a lot of the food was cold, the sweet and sour sauce was just like water and the salt and pepper chicken tasted awful and the chips were stone cold and inedible. very disappointed as this restaurant is usually fantastic

This food was appalling! it everything was tasteless, the rice was hard and the chicken balls were soggy , I have never had such bad food and I will never use Just Eat for this restaurant again, so so bad.

The food is great, my only issue would be that they clear your plates before you've finished, then ask what you want next without giving you time to decide. The wait for food was very slow. Hot plates arrive when you order but are cold by the time the food arrived. Good value for money but it takes a while.

You don't have to apologise for delivering early, it was much appreciated 😊👍

Ordered for delivery through Just Eat. After an hour and 15 minutes it said my order was out for delivery, another half an hour goes by and suddenly it says delivered but we had not recieved our food and also my flat is only 7 minutes drive away from the restaurant. I called up and spoke to a very rude man who was very unhelpful. He would not take any ownership of the situation and just kept blaming Just Eat saying they were the ones who updated the order status. I said to him that its not Just Eat its them and whoever is controlling the order updates is not very good. When I told him that we had been waiting for nearly 2 hours for our food he said no and then went to check. He then came back and said he had spoken to the kitchen and the order is out for delivery, I advised that my Just Eat app said it was out for delivery 45 minutes ago (by the time of this part of the conversation) and he said "Well the driver has another delivery to make before yours!" to which I said "So after waiting 2 hours for my food it is going to arrive stone cold?!" To which the guy just replied "You can claim a refund through your Just Eat App". There was absolutely no apologies, no remorse and no trying to find a solution to make the situation better. By the end of the phone call I advised the man that this is the last time we will be ordering from them and that we will be writing bad reviews on every platform we can find and then hung up on him. Avoid this place at all costs!!! 2 hours wait for an order, cold when it arrived and very rude staff!!!

Terrible place, I only had my starter because the waiting times between meals was Terrible. Even paying for my starter and drinks was a long wait. I wouldn't waste your time.

Incredible food, delivered quickly and piping hot

Food was hot and all so tasty. Delivery was early which was also good. The crispy chilli beef was slightly tough, but the sauce was lovely. Highly recommend

You cannot fault the food at this place however a massive let down is the service from one of the waiters, rudely seated us, when we needed new napkins just threw them on the table not carefully placed or presented well at all, simple thing is if you don’t like your job don’t do it.

we ordered for a specific time so we could have a drink in the pub first. we had to get the driver to leave the food in the back garden! whats the point in ordering for a specific time if its ignored?

Over 2 hours since ordering.. the delivery left the restaurant an hour ago and still nothing has arrived! Extremely disappointed with what's normally good service

Ordered take away at 5.45. Now 8.03 it’s not arrived!! Called 3 times advised 1st at 7.15 was told it’s it’s on its way, 2nd time at 7.30, they are just waiting for driver! 3rd time it’s just left! This has gone hugely down hill 3 hours for a takeaway is a complete joke!

really tasty and fresh, hot when it was delivered

Not been for about 6 yrs. Its had mixed reviews but my review is its great value for money. Food was plentiful and well presented and cooked. They even have hot plates to serve the food on. I went on a Monday lunch and had the buffet. There is a cheaper option which I'm going to try on my next visit. Give it a try.

We eat quite regularly here but everytime the staff are rude and seem to resent you being there spending money. Went to eat there last night, there was 1 table occupied on the whole restaurant. My 6 year old wanted a table with a plate that spun in the middle they refused even though he got a little upset as he was excited to try it. Then as my son is 9 they wanted to charge him £24.50! He's also a vegetarian and they don't have the best selection. I explained he will only eat edamame, boiled rice and garlic brocoli but they insisted he would still have to pay full price. We then left and went to opuz across the road who were much more accommodating and friendly. Won't be back there again after this

They were rushed to take the order when we arrived. The ambience was not suitable for people who admire light, slow music at all. The food was flavourless. I could not taste any flavours in vegetables and seafood. Chow Mein was a disaster. It does not represent authentic Thai cuisine at all. I would not recommend here.

Not up to normal standard, crispy seaweed was burned and oily... salt and pepper ribs very fatty, lots of sinue.. rest was "OK" I guess, I order a lot from Banana Leaf so I'm very disappointed

Friendly, clean and quick service. Good quality food. Had one mistake requested egg fried rice received boiled rice. Exchanged quickly without out any fuss. Finally ,I always check to see how they keep their bathroom in this establishment it was clean except to have noticed that the carpets leading to it needed replacing. I'd recommend this establishment should one would visit Hemel Hempstead. It's set in the town centre. Parking is quite difficult but one can find pay and display close by. Before dinner visited Witherspoon close by and probably one of their best.

I’ve used this takeaway often over the past 5 years but I won’t be using it any longer as it’s gone downhill fast and the quality and service is extremely poor !!

We chose Banana Leaf as we wanted an eat in Chinese, most places do takeaway only. The restaurant itself is quite dated, as are many in the area but the staff were welcoming and everything was very clean and tidy. We opted for the three course Express Lunch Menu at £7.00 per person, which includes a choice of soup starters, a variety of main chicken/pork/beef/tofu dishes, with a rice/egg rice/noodle side and ice cream to finish. If you prefer you can have a chow mien dish instead of a main and side. The soup starter was nice, traditional Chinese soup that was hot and tasty. The mains were generous portions for this style of menu. My kung po prawn dish was really good with lots of prawns and Chinese vegetables and the egg rice was freshly cooked. We both really enjoyed our meals. Would I go back? Yes for a quick lunch, as the price was great, offers good traditional food and the staff were very friendly. For a night out with friends or a special occasion I would choose somewhere else.

Waited an hr to then be turnt away by rude staff! Also I am 9 months pregnant and I wasn't even allowed to use there bathroom! Food was delivered on time compared to original delivery time. However, I had a text message to say it would be late and the message to say the driver was on his way arrived over 10 minutes after we started eating the food.

Great value and lots of it, if I was being pernickety the curry was runny like water, I prefer it to be of a thick consistency as l would normally get from a Chinese food outlet.

Take away for family meal. Ordered and paid online which was really easy. When you order it allows you to select a time to collect. We arrived and food was ready within couple of minutes. Lovely and hot. Everyone’s meal was lovely, and received many compliments. Will definitely use again!

The food was really lovely! Have never had a bad meal here. The waitress was lovely, but she did loiter close to our table which was a bit off putting. She even leaned in between 2 guests while they were having a conversation, which they had to stop as they couldn't see each other! Will definitely go back!

Delivery time was very long. Chips greasy, prawn crackers chewy, pancake rolls tasteless and doughy, sweet and sour dish was not hong king style and hardly any chicken

Food and service are always excellent. It's noisy inside, so if in a large party you can only talk to the people near you. However, we're returning customers, and I'm sure we will be back many times.

Exquisite! Service and food are A1. The platter was to die for as pictured below. Great portion sizes and variety. Nothing we tried was a miss. Definitely will visit again. Highly recommended.

Delivery heavily delayed and when we spoke to the restaurant we were told it was 5 minutes away, but it took another 25. Total time from ordering was 2 hours. Food was a mixed bag - crispy beef tasted really oily and the chips were bland and soggy. The ribs and noodles were quite nice, the Szechuan prawns were really good except we felt 8 prawns was a bit stingy for the price. Would be reluctant to use again even though most of the food was tasty…. You don’t want to wait until bedtime to receive your dinner, particularly when spending £40.

Lovely food, order confirmed straight away, however its status changed in a matter of seconds to delayed... if I knew it'd take 2hrs to get food, I'd be ordering somewhere else (I get how much pressure you're under when you're super busy).Be honest and state true waiting time it'd be less disappointing

Wrong order we ordered beef in black pepper sauce but got beef with onions

Terrible. The bag of food had obviously been dropped. There was Chinese everywhere. Everything was covered in sauce which left no sauce in the cartons. All the cartons were split or shattered completely

This was a great Chinese. We had salt and pepper chicken- yum. For mains we shared pork curry, beef black pepper and schezwan chicken (can’t spell) along with egg fried rice and prawn crackers. It was all really good. If we lived local we would definitely return. They delivered and the food was still hot. Yummy
