Delivery very quick. Tandoori chicken starter absolutely fantastic chicken came straight off the bone. Didn't give 5 starts as missed a rice off the order

My Delivery arrived 20 minutes late and by the temperature it had spent all of that time in a car. This may have been understandable but the dishes were probably the worst I have ever had. It has been a while since we have had food from Balti Nights and I can only presume a change in ownership / Chef has occurred as it half of our dinner went uneaten. The sag panner was Spinach in cheese sauce, the Kasmiri is a tin of tropical fruit (including the Maraschino cherries with cream), The Butter Chick lacked any flavour and was again more like cream sauce. The Rogan Josh and Lamb sag both at least had flavour and were more as expected. but we shall not be returning.

Never write reviews but very disappointed with this. Got the chicken korma. Expected it to be okay as the place looked like a nice take away. It was absolutely disgusting, looked like out of date baby food, and the most bland thing we’ve ever tasted. It was so off putting and made us feel sick just looking at it. A shame the food was so dire, restaurant seemed clean and staff were nice enough.

The korma was revolting, I've never eaten a curry that sweet before. At least the rice and naan was edible.

Not a very nice meal at all not very warm chicken was awful and over priced won't be returning again go without first🤮🤮shame really been having meals here for over 5ys.

I don’t know where to start….. AWFUL… Late delivery which we can forgive. Then the food … get ready! We ordered 2 peshwari nans and received just 1 . a peshwari nan is full of lovely coconut and raisins and a wonderful thing but ours was empty! I ordered Lamb tikka Pathia .. Lamb tikka is marinated in yogurt and wonderful spices then chargrilled..this wasn’t! Phatia is a lovely sauce of tamarind and ginger and spices..this wasn’t! My friends who ordered were equally disappointed. I know as I worked in India and tasted their love for spices.. This chef just doesn’t care.

Awful. Normally don't post bad reviews as I want independent business to thrive but it was so awful. If you know your curry dishes then imagine making a Mattar Paneer like this ...cut cheese into cubes (don't cook) add frozen peas, pour over some warm cheap supermarket packet cheese sauce, add a large spoon of sugar and stir. I kid you not. Have not the time to describe the rest of the rubbish. Awful.

Cold food after complaining on second delivery, won't order again

Really disappointed…. Food was Luke warm upon delivery ( we were the first order of the evening ) Absolutely bland no trace of spices….. so tasteless! What have they done to get this so wrong. Will not use again or recommend… we live in Brixham so very sad with this experience…..

This was the worst, least authentic curry I've ever had the misfortune to order. Every dish was filled with lurid colouring and so much sugar as to render them inedible. There is no excuse for putting sugar in saag paneer, while the bright red tikka massala looked radioactive and tasted so sweet it was cast aside after the first bite. Balti Nights used to be a reasonable tandoori but now it is serving up a homeogous sugary gloop with tough meat and no trace of authentic herbs or spices. Disgusting. The rice was OK, I'll give them that. But only because they didn't put sugar in it. I tried to wash the extra-sweet orange yogurt sauce down the sink but I fear I've stained the ceramic. Save your money and try Indian-Thai instead.

Could not deliver for 1.5 hours Said be ready in 20 mins Went down and had to wait another 15 mins Got food back and half of it was warm to cold Called them Up and during telephone conversation started chatting to customer who just came into reception Cost £47 and was not edible They not called back or offered replacement Have had from there before so very disappointed £47 a lot so won’t be Going back sadly

We went here to dine in, lasted 10 minutes and we had to cancel our order and leave! The amount or fruit flies was disgusting!! Something definitely wrong somewhere in there to have that amount of them in the restaurant seating area!

Had lamb shashlik with garlic fried rice, very generous portion of lamb cooked perfectly with lots of fresh onion, tomato and spices, a lovely vegetable curry side. Plus a very tasty garlic Nan. Delivered quickly. Thoroughly recommended.

My brother in law had a meal here last night. Absolutely disgraceful, When we arrived there was a group of men sat at a table half naked in boxers only. The service was extremely slow, drinks were flat and when the food arrived it was very mediocre. During the the course of the meal one of the half naked men sat with boxers only, dropped his boxers to bare all. I would have expected the management to ask the group to leave or put clothes on. If a family had been dining there they would have been appalled. Shocking behaviour allowed by the management.

Probably one of the worst Indian food we've ever had. We ordered for take away Tandoori butter chicken, Tandoori mixed grill and plain rice. Food was ready in 10 mins only, so I rated the service high. The portion was good but the sauce for the butter chicken was thick and so sweet, and the tandoori mixed grill was very RED tasted bland and like old meat. Only the plain white rice was decently cooked. We should have suspected something not right when the whole place was empty on a Saturday night. The food could not have been cooked by an Indian. Its such a shame. I am sorry to have to write this bad review but I do hope they can improve.

Bad very bad .went in sat down 3 of us .no body else in to dine .ordered our food .chicken tikka bhuna saw the chef walk past with farm foods chicken in bag .the curry's when they came out was like something you would make at home. The sauce just taste like it was straight from a jar with the meat we saw added. My bill was £55 and felt like I got ripped off bigtime

6.30 on a Sunday evening so very quiet. Food was lovely. Also a fully licensed bar.

Great food and well priced.2021 We returned this year 2022 We walked in and got a table. The food is still good, but we felt rushed. When you go to a restaurant you want to be relaxed and take your time ⏲️ We had not finished our starter but was told that our mains was ready. Which was placed on the table. We did not finish our meal because of how we felt rushed, so asked for containers to take the rest of our meals back to our holiday apartment Won't be going back to eat in!!!! TAKE OUT INSTEAD Back in 2023 , the standard of the food has dropped dramatically, and everything is cooked with tandoori seasoning. The curry is red, the bhuna is red, and the biryani? Yes you guessed right . It was red. The whole of the different dishes taste the same. Take my advice. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

We ordered a delivery from here last night after a tiring day in Torquay and not wanting to cook. We ordered the Variety Set Meal for 2 which was very nice plus an extra egg fried rice, chips and a cheese naan. You get lots of food so actually the Set Meal the 4 of us so we ended up with a bit too much but everything was hot and tasty and delivered very quickly.

We ordered a take away, food was hot and ready. Portions are a good size. Ordered a Chicken Dhansak and Chicken Korma, both were good although the Korma sauce was too sweet for my husbands taste. Rice, chips, naan & poppadoms were generous portion size. Would order from here again

Popped in on the off chance and asked if we can eat in with our dog, told yes as long as he was not a barker, luckily he is not, wife had King Prawn Balti which she says was great, Nann bread was light with a little crisp on edges and taste fantastic, I had Chicken Tikka Vindaloo with coconut rice and have to say was one of the best Currys I have had for a long time, this will now be our new local curry house as longe as Bert (the dog) is still aloud in, champion night.

Rude staff, tasteless food if I could give minus stars that would make me happy! AVOID!

I had a chicken Jalfrezi, mushroom rice and plain naan. The Jalfrezi was nice but nothing like any other Jalfrezi meals i have had. It was a beetroot type colour with little taste and not very hot. A good amount of chicken but hardly any chillies. The rice was great but the naan went hard after about 10 minutes and i could not eat it.

Booked a table online for 9.30pm as the restaurant was advertised as being open until 11pm. When we arrived we were seated in the corner where it was cold, no music and no atmosphere whatsoever. We were instantly asked how many popadoms we wanted. When the sauces were brought over they looked like they were left over from another table! I asked for some more mint sauce and was told ok but we are closing soon. Food was good. Halfway through eating the staff were wondering around us with coats on as if they were waiting for us to leave. This made us very uncomfortable so after being in the restaurant for 30 minutes we asked for the rest of our meals to be put in takeaway containers. Next minute 2 empty containers and lids were put on the table along with the bill. £46.00 for which was pretty much a takeaway experience. Don't advertise opening hours as being 11pm if you want to close at 9.30. We have always come to this restaurant when in Brixham but this will definitely be the last.

Cold . Heating put on once we'd sat down. Only ones in there.

Food has tasty enough but my plain naan was filled with orange like mash carrot textured stuff! So big let down for me!

Small portions. Extremely rude chef who wanted to finish early so just starred at us from the kitchen door. Will never recommend will do the opposite.

Horrible experience on a weekend away. Ordered over £100 worth of takeaway and all dishes were inedible. Had a Pathia, Dhansak and Vindaloo all the same level of spice. None of us could eat the food and was a waste of money and meant were went hungry. One of us tried to push on and eat the Pathia, and am feeling the ill affects even now. Also in terms of service had to wait 50 minutes when they said 20.

Food was nice but service was terrible and our waiter was obviously new and spoke NO English which delayed everything as he had to keep getting the manager.

Best place around. My local and very nice food. Restaurant is looking a little tired but don't let it put you off the flavors of food! I have taken meny friends to this Indian and all have said its the best they have had.

Firstly, I have purposely delayed this review to allow my disappointment and irritation to subside. As others have mentioned we were mugged for poppadoms before we could place a drinks order. The pickle tray was disappointing (looked like leftovers from another table and onions cleeved into large chunks) and the poppadoms were slightly overcooked. We ordered Chicken Tikka and samosas for starters then Lamb Biryani and a fish Bhuna for mains. We both enjoyed the starters but the Biryani and Bhuna were both deep red, obviously dyed and very off-putting. Both were quite bland and tasteless. I failed to taste any cumin, coriander, fennel, ginger, garlic or cinnamon i.e. any Indian spices at all. I ate just the fish with less half a nan bread which was doughy. My wife ate a few pieces of lamb and left the rest including an untouched vegetable curry. With a large and small Cobra this all cost a few pence short of £50. This was the first night of our holiday so I did not wish to make a scene but how I wished to send the mains back and in the words of Craig in his last Bond film, tell them to "cut out the middle man and put them straight in the toilet". If you enjoy genuine Indian food avoid this place like a plague

In the town centre of Brixham, great little curry restaurant, seats around 50 people, but the curry is fantastic, went here twice

There were four of us and we had not stayed in Brixham before. One evening we decided to take a walk around the town and have an Indian Meal. We saw the door of Balti Nights and thought it was just a takeaway. Then we noticed the word Restaurant. We were warmly welcomed by Alamin [we obviously asked his name during the course of the evening]. The restaurant was comfortable but it was odd to have a windowless restaurant. The food was excellent. We were very well looked after and had a joyful evening with Alamin. I would also like to suggest that you must be losing so much trade being tucked away looking more like a taxi desk. Why do you not have a restaurant with a window frontage where you could be so much more accessible. Low rating because of the Dining Room position.

Another fantastic takeaway this evening from Balti Nights in Brixham Never been disappointed, the food and service are superb , in my opinion the best Indian restaurant in the bay.

If I could give this a no star I would... My wife and I was shown to a table in a restaurant that had more in common with a Portakabin a building site...within 2 minutes...are you ready to order..no not yet but we will have a bottle of shiraz . Poppadoms..Poppadoms..Poppadoms OK.. yes just a couple! Out comes the ice cold red wine...be quiet though as I don't want to upset them as soon as we have sat down. Out come the Poppadoms..with the 4 bowls of chutney..the mint one had a skin over the top, the other 3 looked like they were left from someone else's table. I called the waiter over and said politely that I will pay for the wine as we had opened it,but the stale Poppadoms and chutney I won't. I tried to keep this quiet as there were 4 other people there. He kept shouting for us to pay but I refused and tried to explain that I will not pay for something that is not edible. He then just started shouting for us to F...off and we were c#$#s We walked around the corner to the Indian-Thai...

Delicious Jalfrezi with added paneer with mushroom fried rice. Staff friendly and chatty. Unfortunately people staying away with fear of COVID. However, the restaurant does have an excellent take away trade.

Everything was fine until we were rudely rushed to finish up as they wanted to close early as we were the only ones there. The waiter who I think was being pressured by the chef was loitering and kept wanting to clear the table when one friend had not finished. At one point my friend noticed the chef had come out and was staring at us. Even when the the waiter was trying to taking plates he was gesturing rudely saying give me plates. They wouldn't take cash after 11pm for some reason so we had to withdraw cash. Why let us in if they didn't have the time. I rarely leave feedback but the service was shocking. We are local but felt we were treated like holiday makers where they don't have to worry about the customers coming back.

Great service and value. When asked Advice on dishes etc, the advice given was totally spot on 👍. Would definitely recommend 👌.

Food here is fine, and the restaurant itself is nice. Wide and varied menu, makes it perfect for thoses looking for different types and styles of Asian cuisine. The staff here are friendly, but the service was a bit slow. The evening i went, they only had one waiter working that evening.

Absolutely amazing meal and service. Table of 10, all meals served at the same time and delicious. Couldn't find fault.

We have had two takeaways from here since we moved to Brixham since February and both times delicious!

Nice tikka roll but it had bbq sauce it didn’t need that at all never heard of that. The samosas didn’t impress at all I think frozen ones would of tasted better. Poppadoms very big but smelt of smoky oil that would have seemed to need cleaning. The mango chutney was very good.

Excellent food and attentive service. Fully covid compliant, and an altogether good experience.

Table booked for 7.30 still standing outside after 8.00. No apologies just excuses from rude waiter. Sorry i had to give it as much as one star. We left!!!!!

Had a wonderful meal here, exceptional food, highly recommend Balti garlic chilli chicken. Friendly staff and very attentive, so good we made a second visit during our stay in Brixham!

Not sure why the ratings aren't higher on Google but its an excellent curry house. Beautiful real tikka chicken in all the main dishes which were all exceptional. I would highly recommend it to anyone and not let the rating put you off, simply delicious.

This meal was quite disappointing. We popped in to order a takeaway, was told 20 mins but it actually took 50. Ordered my favourite dish, Chicken Tikka Pathia, but it tasted nothing like a Pathia, this tasted like a bland chicken curry, my wife had Vegetable Biryani, but it didn't come with any sauce or vegetable curry, I would have walked back to complain but it was a 30 min walk. We had 6 poppadoms but no mango chutney was supplied, they did provide 2 pots of yoghurt (which they probably charged us for) and the bill was £37.75, which seemed expensive. I totted up their prices from the menu and figured we'd been overcharged by £2.95 or they charged us for something I didn't count. Unfortunately I can't recommend this place but they probably do good business from tourists, they probably don't care if you never go back!

Nearly £50.00 for a takeaway order that consisted of 3 main meals and 6 popadoms.....and it wasn’t even that tasty!! Suggest checking others in the area before this one.....

Worst Indian in 25 years and I'm not fussy. Nothing fresh . Worst onion baji ever tasteless flour batter. No windows no air couldnt wait to get out. Very expensive too.

Recently we visited Brixham on D-Day.we had a meal in Balti Night Restaurant.we have enjoyed.service and food quality was great. highly recommended.we will visit again.

Good food, a few different choices from usual curry house menu's. Restaurant tidy but not "overly Indian" decor.

Meal for 4 tonight all different meal requests all served beautifully hot and really enjoyable. Plenty of space between tables to have privacy. Good quality at reasonable price.whats not to love

this was probably the worst food we have ever tried to eat, cant believe that they could serve this up and charge money for it. we had takeaway tonight at 11.30, will be calling in in morning to get money back if we survive the night! Ivan and Lena back in Brixham for a holiday.

Walked in for meal on Saturday night. Smelt like urine on entry. Was asked to wait for table and 3 seperate members of staff asked if what we wanted. Tables not laid. Popadoms brought out no sauce wanted 10 minutes had enough walked out. Flies everywhere in restaurant. If this business wants to continue being in business they need to seriously sort their restaurant out

Very good food and clean place to eat

Went here last night 6/8/18 family meal very expensive £9.80 for popaudoms and sauces which works out at 1 pound each we was only people in restaurant and was told to be quiet because off the children laughter and also they was very rude towards us also i went because of reviews saying hidden gem more hidden rude rip off

The bill seemed expensive, we asked for a breakdown and were charged £9.40 for 8 poppadoms (70p each), and 50p each for four dips, should have been £7.60.. however, still very expensive..

The rice, nans and papadoms were fine. The main meal 🍴 was like they poured sauce on top of the meat and veg and added sugar. I could not see the vegetables, very disappointed I would not go back. 😔

Great food!! Best ever flavours

Having waited an extra 10 minutes over the promised 30 for my takeaway, the food was luke warm at best. The Tandoori Mixed Grill consisted of 3 small slices of Chicken Tikka and 3 small (3cm) cubes of Lamb Tikka. The Seek Kebab was comparable to the size of a Chipolata whilst the Tandoori Chicken was dry and probably reheated. All this for £10.95? In addition the Vegetable Curry looked and tasted like it came out of a tin.

Always excellent food and service

Food was awful and cold. Four pieces of meat in vindaloo and five pieces in tikka. My saag was burnt also starters cooked too much. Terrible experience and food went in the bin....

We ordered a balti, and it tasted nothing like a balti. Thought about ordering chappatis but at £2.25 each we thought again.

Been there for my birthday every year the staff are friendly and really good with there service. The food was excellent you get a excellent quality and quantity for your money. They even brought out a cake all singing happy birthday.
