Balti Nailsworth in Stroud

Just ordered a take away from here, extremely disappointed, my sauce was runny like gravy with a greasy layer on top. Was supposed to have cashews in it and not a single one. Just inedible won’t mention the onion bhaji they were pretty awful too. Shame …… won’t be going back or recommending. My husbands meal didn’t mention it had green peppers in which he cannot eat and yet they were in it . 🙁

We just ordered takeaway dinner here last night and got 2 curries, a pilau rice and some naan. The curry was so bland and used way too much oil. We didn’t finish the food. It’s the first time ever I’ve had to season a curry myself because it lacked so much flavour. We were both sick after the meal and couldn’t sleep. We will not be ordering here again.

Always love getting a takeaway from Balti. The staff are friendly and the food is great.

Had a takeaway from Balti Nailsworth and having phoned through our order, still had to wait for nearly 30 mins after the pick-up time. Nobody seemed rushed, no offer of a drink etc. Food was very bland, no spice whatsoever even in the hotter dishes and the pilau rice was a soggy overcooked lump. Very disappointed as was our first visit and as a result won't return again. Shame as we wanted to support local!

Good restaurant, friendly staff and delicious food. We brought our own alcoholic drinks and that wasn't a problem. To recommend.

Food was disappointing - curries were bland. Drinks were awful - how can they charge for flat coke from a large bottle! Service was questionable - we felt very rushed even though the restaurant was empty. Refused to take Amex despite signage on the door and the Amex website showing them as a shop small partner - have reported this. I didn’t check the reciept as my mother paid but after leaving I worked out that we were overcharged - I will not return and cannot recommend

Tried this restaurant for the first time and although the staff were really friendly the food was a little bland and uninspiring.

Despite reading very mixed reviews my wife and I decided to eat there and make our own mind up. Great food and really nice and friendly people. They provided us with glasses for our own wine and beer (not licensed premises) , opened them and poured them for us. Nothing was too much trouble. I spoke to a couple who said that the were local , visited the Balti frequently and had nothing but praise for this establishment. Date of our visit 25/07/2023. Highly recommended.

One of my favourite Indian restaurant around Stroud to dine in or have a takeaway from! Food is just delicious and the menu is so large! Fast and efficient service when dining in. Only comment is the portions are definitely bigger and better when getting a takeaway.

Chicken pakora was lovely, as was the chicken korma. The garlic naan wasn’t pleasant, far too strong and stodgy. Their chicken pasanda tasted nothing like what it stated on the menu, it was supposed to be a mild creamy coconut and almond sauce but it was red and had no creamy coconut or almond flavour whatsoever, we spoke with the restaurant and they said they would credit this back next time. We ordered in advance and they didn’t cook it until we arrived to collect it and it was very expensive but we weren’t given a receipt to check if there had been a mistake. All in all most of the food was nice but quite a few issues, not sure it was worth £64

Having sampled curries from around the UK, this is one of the best flavoured menus I've come across....just right for the discerning British palate....what my friends from Bangladesh and India think of it though, I wouldn't know....but I'm going back if ever in Nailsworth again. Very decent prices to boot.

Food was average. Service was non existent. When asked to take stuff home. He bought one takeaway dish to the table. We had to do that ourselves, but had nan breads, two dishes and rice left. So had to ask for more stuff. He then just left on table, and only bought one more, then had to ask for two more, then a bag. Never been to a restaurant when you have had to pack up your own food at the end of the meal. They then over charged us. Apparently they have increased their prices but not changed the prices on the menu. I said that they can't do that. They have to sell it for the prices they advertise it for. He they deducted the overcharged amount and said "happy now?" Will not be going here again.

Delicious! Busy night for our takeaway - packed inside the restaurant - worth a few minutes wait.

Had a very poor takeaway from this place. Quality of food was shoddy and when prices of dishes were added up at home we discovered we'd been charged more for our order + I'd ordered a no.55 Salsa with Prawns at £10.95 and instead was given a Salsa with Chicken which should have been £3 less but wasn't. What if I was a Pescetarian! Very bad. Order was bunged in a cavernous PLASTIC carrier bag so all the boxes went topsy-turvy spilling their contents instead of an environmentally-friendly paper carrier with a flat bottom. Definitely do NOT recommend this place and we're NEVER going again!

Never had a bad meal here, always freshly cooked tasty food. The staff are very helpful explaining the different dishes which is a great help when you want to try something different. Highly recommended.

A small restaurant which feels a bit crowded and packed in at first, but it makes for a good atmosphere. The restaurant only serves non alcoholic drinks, but you can bring your own, and many do. The food is really good and there is a lot of choice.

Bad curry! Vege tikka masala was soggy tomato slop and our chicken dish was mainly lamb. When asked for a refund was told there was no apology and was told as I rang the next day and not immediately that it was too late! Avoid ...

Lovely meal as ever. It was a busy night but were not kept waiting too long. I recommend the Kasundi...I had chicken. Delicious and good value for money. As not licensed. Don't forget to take a drink with you.

Steer well clear of this establishment. My family and I had the worst Indian take away meal, I have ever my had my life, from this place last night. If I could give it no stars I would. Apart from the poppadoms which were very good to be fair, the meal was appalling. For example, the Panir Tikka had no Panir in it, just disgusting melted cheese in an overly spiced vegetable stew of some kind. Every dish was not appetising and had to be chucked in the bin. Some dishes had Brussels Sprouts in them which tasted like left overs reheated with some unsubtle spices added. We were charged £58 for our meal and overcharged by £4 going by the prices on the takeaway menu. They didn't provide an itemised bill to be able to check the bill. I cannot describe how disappointed and angry I feel about the standard of the food we received. The owner was unwilling to put matters right about our experience.

Excellent tasty dishes. We normally enjoy their takeaways but it's nice to make an occasion and we all really enjoyed the meals. Take your own beer and/or wine if you want a drink and they provide the glasses.

Really good food from Bangladesh served and cooked by really nice people. The best cuisine from this region in the area and very accommodating to alter the taste.

This place was much better when it had been burnt down! The food here is not good and the service I received last time I came in to order a takeaway, was rude. If you want and Indian, you should go to passage to India. Here at least they are polite when ordering and the food is actually nice! Either make better food or be polite.

I like their Southern Biriyani. Portion size is very generous. They do the BEST Peshawari Nan, Lamb bhoona, Chicken Tikka Kebab, Tarka Daal. I'm glad they're coming back to business in Sept 2018, after a fire accident few months ago. This time with more seating capacity and family area.

No stars if Ap would let me!!! Worst Indian food I have ever eaten - they don’t even bother to hide the supermarket sauce jars and even manage to make them taste worse! Given quality produce in the area, this place is a disgrace!

Fantastic authentic curry in Nailsworth. They use lovely spices and herbs making the Meal very aromatic and traditional. No artificial colours at all and not oily like other Indians. They also cook a lot of dishes with vegetarian options. They even do quorn options for your favourite curries. They are a very humble establishment and the owner seems very nice. I'd highly recommend...best in Nailsworth

The food here is excellent, alcohol is not available for religious reasons,but the owners are happy for you to bring your own. Staff very friendly, take away available.

I have eaten some indian meals in my time. Balti Nailsworth is a pleasure to have close to home. The food is fresh, spiced with a craftsman's knowledge and reasonably priced for Nailsworth. Range into the interesting areas of the menu for some off the wall stuff... Chicken Viagra is good!
