The service was slow and the cafe was dirty. On top of all that, the staff had no manners and when we complained about the lack of good service, they told us never to come back again. The owner shouted in front of everyone in the cafe that she was going to memorise our faces and never allow is to enter again. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Never go there again. It's a waste of time and money as there are much better restaurants and cafes in Ilford that you can enjoy.

The Restaurant is averagely clean and toilets were usable wouldn't say clean but usable. The Staff - Depends on who you speak to. General staff just about know how to speak to you. Management - are point blank rude!! The Food Now firstly let me explain - I am not sure if I am can say I am privileged to have seen how they were cooking as I waiting for my food. But I saw one "chef" say to another "chef" is this chicken ok. The first "chef" dips his little finger in the curry and then licks his finger and says yeah that's fine and then does it again. At this point I was very glad I was a vegetarian. Vegetable Curry - rephrase "Oil and Onions Curry" this Curry was awful. It was cooked by the head "chef" - this curry was far too chilly despite asking for mild. The spices were none existent, the vegetables or lack of consisted of onion and carrot. And I threw up on this dish!! 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 The Chapatti - I asked for a nan but got two chapatti because the "chef" who makes the nan wasn't in. So I get these 2 two day old chapattis. They were so hard that I was considering eating with cheese as a cracker. The service and food overall was horrendous. I'm not sure how they passed health and safety regs. So after throwing up and spending a day in bed to recover I will award this place a 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 Oh by the way one vegetable curry and two chapattis £15.50. Absolute rip off

I am not a vegetarian, but vegetarian food is good and this was well-prepared, full of flavour and well-presented by friendly staff. It is just round the corner from the railway station. I would be happy to pay a return visit

Good service, great food but with a confusing destination in TripAdvisor! Served food late on Friday night and seemed to be a meeting place for friends within the community. Bit pricey compared to other parts of UK Chicken tikka jalfrezi enjoyable but elsewhere is prepared with chicken that has been cooked in a tandoor; mine seemed to have been stewed.

As name in TripAdvisor suggests this is not only vegetarian they server non veg too. This place got very good indian food, especially good quality of rotis and naans with nice indian curries. Starters are good too. There are good variety of vegetarian dishes as well. Staff is very friendly and service is good too. I didn't like their rice dishes much. This place is closer to station if we come out from back entrance of Ilford station. There is paid parking right in front of this restaurant. Bit noisy and crowded over the weekends.

My wife and I have been coming here (the Punjabi Lounge) for about 9 months now. The garlic chilli prawns are OUTSTANDING. The welcome is always good. The owners and staff go out of their way to accommodate everything you may want. Be prepared to experience some different dishes. You won't be disappointed

3 of us ate in there unfortunately and 3 hairs were found. When we pointed it out to the waiter he just said sorry and there was nothing he could do about it. When I asked to speak to the manager he conveniently wasn't available. After trying to explain I wasn't happy to pay full price for over 10 minutes I gave up. To cap it all off they couldn't even provide a VAT receipt. Avoid this place it is dodgy and has bad food, hygiene and customer service!

Felt like an absolute winner! And to make up for the 5 HAIRS they offered to give us more tainted food and knock the service charge (which they didn't tell us about) off the bill.. Let's see what happens tomorrow morning. They say what doesn't kill you makes you thinner... It's definitely going to be one of those two options!

Went on a whim after work. Must have driven past this place dozens of times but never noticed it. Firstly I wouldn't call it cheap and I wouldn't call it a typical curry house but certainly some of the nicest Indian food I've ever tasted.

Visited punjabi lounge recently. Ordered a mixed grill. the food came out quickly which made me think, wow they must have a super duper way of cooking the lamb chops really quickly or they must be precooked, which they were, has they were hard and chewy. i think they put some sauce on them to hide that fact they are hard and chewy. The rest of the food was warm, not hot as you would expect if it was freshly cooked. Having a looked at the menu i was surprised how expensive this place was, so we decided not to have any mains. City prices in ilford town.

Been hearing good reviews on this place so decided to try it out to book them for a future event , food is not so special the way it's come out you is very good but service was bad there was painting going on we had to move out chair 3 times while the painter got his paint, when the bill came he had put service charge added which I refuse to pay. I'm shocked with a new place in our area with such bad service.Something they need to read If you are told about a compulsory service charge, you must pay it, unless the service was particularly poor. If you don't get an acceptable level of service, the restaurant could be in breach of contract. Under the Consumer Rights Act it is legally required to use reasonable care and skill when providing its service. If the restaurant falls below this standard you can refuse to pay some or all of a service charge, depending on how bad the service actually is. Follow our guide on how to complain if you're told you have to pay a service charge, if you're unhappy with the level of service you receive in a restaurant. Expectations should be reasonable Bear in mind that the quality of service should match the type of establishment you are in. So you shouldn't expect the same quality of service from a fast food outlet as you would from a restaurant in a five-star hotel.Compulsory service chargeSome restaurants add a compulsory service charge to your bill, and others leave it to your discretion. In essence you have the right to refuse to pay the service charge in either circumstance if the service falls below a reasonable standard. If a service charge is compulsory, the restaurant must make this clear before you eat. For example, by stating this on menus it has in the window or by telling you verbally. If the restaurant fails to do so, then you can argue that the compulsory service charge does not form part of your contract. Can I claim compensation? If there has been a particular problem with the service, for example, the waiter tipped spaghetti bolognese on you and your clothing, you can claim the cost of having your clothes cleaned.

Ordered a takeaway for a family gathering. Dealt with Vish at Punjabi Lounge who delivered excellent customer service, went that extra mile to ensure that everything was delivered on time. We had a variety of veg and non veg starters. The Chilli Paneer was a particular favourite and the mixed grill was superb. All the mains were really nice as well. We asked for the food to be prepared mild and it was. Highly recommended!

Had the Pani Puri as a shared starter which we both enjoyed and then it was time for the mains. It was naan with lamb karahi and punjabi tuk tuk chicken. The lamb was of the very tender melt in the mouth kind with a lovely sauce. The lamb had taken the flavour of the sauce so we were quite impressed. Then we tried the tuk tuk chicken which was superb , we were not expecting it to be that good, lovely and tender full of flavour. I normally prefer lamb to chicken but not this time. The amount of spice was just eight for us too. My wife and I left very full and happy. The picture does not do justice to the food.

Went to Punjabi lounge with two guests was greeted by one of the owners and given a good table. Ordered the drinks and staters - vegetable platter and mixed grill. To our surprise the starters came within a short time. We started eating our mixed grill to surprise it was chewy and very dry - it seemed it was leftovers from yesterday. Absolutely awful. My other guest had the veg platter and the paneer tikka seemed it was microwaved - it was dry and rubbery -disgusting! We complained to the owner who said it was not paneer tikka but paneer tikka masala - thats why it was rubbery! Clearly he needs he's head examined! What is the difference if it's dry????We paid the bill - the prices were different from the website to the menu at the restaurant. We did not want to stay for mains as we didn't know what we were going to get! If this restaurant can't sort out the starters then there is no hope for the mains! Very disappointed. The chef needs to visit Caraway and other ilford restaurants to see the quality of food served. Better still go to North West London where they serve excellent starters and mains. The owners need to improve very quickly and take on board customer complaints. Sadly we thought the owners had no idea about food even though their menu is so limited. Sorry to say we will not be coming back and wasting our money!

So Partak's does a lime pickle, for those of you who had it, which is most will know it's quite oily, orange in colour, bitsy, and quite pungent. It's all great for a pickle however, for a vegetable curry it's awful. And Punjabi Lounge have created a vegetable curry that replicates the lime pickle. The chef will brag how great a cook he is, but I have seen more talent from a 9 year old child who isn't allowed near the cooker then from him.The Chapatti is like it's been cooked three days ago and left in the drawer, and just taken out and given. Let's not get me started on the meat, which clearly was killed last year and frozen and brought out this month. Stop using oil for everything, whatever the dish is and pick anything and I can guarantee you there will be a thick layer of oil.The service is awful, clearly a bunch of men got drunk one night and said we should open a restaurant and that's how Punjabi Lounge was created. The staff apart from the barman, had about 3 brain cells between them. The price is too overpriced, don't go by the menu price because the staff make it up. You think you are going to spend £30 and bam you get a bill for £55, you question it and the manager says its guide price menu.So if you want a good Indian go else where. Please don't eat here, as an Indian I was so appalled at the service, and food. This is my own cuisine that I know how to cook so was insulted by the dingbats who thought they could cook the food.

Auntyji's is now officially THE PUNJABI LOUNGE.I met with one of the partners Vish, he was helpful honest and down to earth.I've booked a birthday party and he done me a fantastic deal.A top selling point is that they cook their veggie dishes away front their meat dishes. And their food, you can taste the different masalas in the different curry sauce- unlike with other restaurants where all the lamb and chicken curry sauce starts to taste the same.As a sample of their starter we had their aloo tikki and chaat- both were of generous portions and tasted unique.I will further review after the actual party.

The place is not called auntyji's any longer but is a Punjabi Restaurant. They have added non-veg dishes too, but we ordered veg food - dal and veges - and we found it excellent. The people were very helpful indeed. We were served by a very sweet lady, we were told that she was under training. The manager too went out of her way to help us. We found the restaurant very good indeed. Excellent choice if you like Indian food - and other food too, perhaps.
