Used to be called Asia Style for more than a decade - now changed hands & chefs I think? Friendly service & open late night so worth a visit for that alone if in the area. We usually stick to the same dishes when we eat real Chinese/Malaysian so we went for the Malaysian pancakes/roti with curry sauce, a small won ton soup, then a 2 roast belly pork/char sui with rice to share. I quite enjoyed what we had but for my taste, these dishes weren't in the same league as they used to be when it was Asia Style - the won tons for example being much smaller & less tasty than before. Small details but when you have been frequenting a place for 15 years, you notice these little things.

Dropped by last night for dinner. No fancy decor. Simple dining. Waiters and waitress had no smiles or a friendly approach which left me feeling I was giving them trouble. I know great customer service when I see it as I worked with the public all my life. Our food arrived quick. Food was appealing and tasted delicious. We had complimentry soup and dessert. Service was average. Our bill took too long to get to us. I had to remind waitress again and it was very quiet with only a handful of tables occupied. Nothing to shout about. I would not be back in a hurry.

The food was really tasty. I missed the old Asia Style which had a cult following. The food at Asiama was better. The Mandarin sauce was to die for. Portions are plenty. Decor is basic and wooden chairs but the food is what you come here for and you soon get into your own world chatting to those you are with.

Was here last night at around 11pm. My wife thought we should try Asiama inspite of the negative reviews recently as new management took over from Asia Style. We had to go try it ourselves as we know Malaysian Food is amazingly yummy. Asiama is newly decorated and very welcoming. The restaurant seems empty as read In previous reviews. But as soon as we sat down. Other locals started to fill half of the restaurant. Whilst being served Chinese tea and house soup, I asked the manager since when did Asia Style became Asiama? He said 4 months ago. He gave us 2 kinds of menu, A Chinese Menu and English Menu and said if you don't find anything on the menu we can also cook. Browsing the menus seems to be a little pricy compared to previous Asia Style menus. And decided to order what wasn't in the Menu or described differently. We ordered stir fried Ho fan seafood noodles and Roasted Duck Mee noodles soup. To our surprise the orders came in generous portions. Like we needed another 2 person to share with. My wife actually thought the food was blunt. I tasted and told her that it has no MSG. Unlike old Asia Style had so much MSG and oily that you thought it was very delicious, which yes was delicious. But not Naturally delicious. We enjoyed dinner very much. We are definitely coming back and invite friends to enjoy new Asiama. I would recommend this for those who aren't afraid to try and experience new cuisines. Will try other dishes and see if Asiama will live up to its standard. Staff offered desserts, we had to pass and come back another time as we were filled up to the brim. The Bill came and I thought it would cost us more than we thought as food was not in the menu and looking at others prices would be near the same amount. It was very affordable. It was less than £25. 2 Stars for Hospitality & Friendly Service. 1 Star for MSG free & delicious dinner. 1 Star for affordable and generous portions. 0 Star because i had to go out get more cash as they don't accept card payments.

AsiaMa rises from the ashes of Asia Style, a perennial favourite of mine for around a decade. Whilst it seems odd to review a new place by opening with a little back history, in the case of this restaurant, it’s helpful to set some context. The last time I was in Asia Style with the friend who’d introduced me to the place, part of the ceiling fell in. Afterwards we pondered how little shock we felt when this happened. It was almost as though it was expected. Asia Style made a classic mistake. After years of staying small, rammed with regular diners who carried the lore of its wonderful food and idiosyncratic style, Asia Style expanded. While it was closed for months to accommodate this change, a new place opened very close by and Asia Style reopened with vast areas of empty table tops and vacant chairs, while the new venue was busy-busy. On hearing that Asia Style had closed, it wasn’t exactly surprising. The food I’d enjoyed there latterly was still as good as ever, but style had changed and, of course, if you pass a restaurant that looks empty, it doesn’t exactly encourage dining there. I read a pretty harsh review of AsiaMa shortly after it opened, so it was with some trepidation that I went to try it out, along with the same friend who’d witnessed the falling ceiling in the old place some months before. One could be forgiven for thinking there’d been no change on entering. Aside from some prints on the walls and new menus, the decor and layout is pretty much as it was, though the ceiling has been repaired! The menu has expanded, but includes much that would be familiar to Asia Style habitués. One old favourite, salt-pepper squid, was one of our choices and it arrived crisp and delicious as ever with the familiar light dusting of chopped chilli and spring onion. Our other choice was a large bowl of lamb curry. The arrival of this was heralded by a small gas stove appearing at the table and, once lit, the curry in a casserole pot boiled in front of us and greens were added to the mix. This too was delicious. The endless stream of free jasmine tea of old was absent, but I cannot offer this as a criticism. This is, after all, a new place and must set its own rules. I would like to have seen coconut rice on the menu, but the same comment applies. Prices look very similar to Asia Style’s tariff. Service was swift and efficient. There were a few people dining on the midweek evening when we tried AsiaMa, but it was by no means looking busy. Whether it can build sufficient clientele to sustain the size of the place is debatable. I’ll certainly be returning and I hope other Asia Style regulars will give it a try. The food we had was first rate and AsiaMa deserves a chance to thrive. Whether it stands or falls… well, I guess that’s a matter of conjecture.

Me and girlfriend decided to go out for dinner at last minute on a Tuesday night. Went into this restaurant and got kind of bad vibe because the restaurant was near empty with only 2 tables with customers... anyway, we decided to give it a try. We ordered Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs, Stir-fry Morning Glory with Pork Belly and Braised Lamb Pot with Veg. The manager told us the restaurant have a promotion on that night, a free dish of Steam Sea Bass for any 3 dishes ordered. Result! Free pot of green tea arrived with 5 mins followed by 2 free bowls of soup, not sure what kind of soup but they were lovely. Food arrived quickly with boiler rice after that and they were all tasty, potions were massive and the free fish tasted very fresh. me and my girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed it. Whole meal came to £43 which I found good value for money.

Conseguir la bolas! ! ! ! !
