Meidou Chinese Take Away in Glasgow City

Thought I'd give Mei Dou a bash after being badly let down by another nearby takeaway recently. Very glad I did - hidden gem of Anniesland! Food was prompt, absolutely delicious, curry had just the right heat, batter was light and crispy, salt and chilli was spot on, satay rolls 👌, rice was tasty and plentiful but not greasy, somehow even the chips were extra special. Prices are brilliant esp. for quality and portion size. Hope they open over the weekend soon, new favourite (and we're fussy!)

Honestly One My Favourite Places To Order Food I’m Constantly Ordering . But Tonight Was A Joke ! I Grabbed Cash From The Bank Machine On Way Home From Work (£30) Got Home And Placed My Order My Total All In Came To £22.80 My Partner Answered The Door When It Arrived Told The Delivery Driver To Take £23.00 Instead Of The 22.80 So After Handing The Driver A £20 Note & £10 Note I Only Received £2 Change . I Phoned The Chinese Shop And Said I Was A £5 Missing Which Was Part Of My Change , They Said That The Driver Said He Didn’t Rob Me Of A £5 Because I Apparently I Gave Him Only £25 ( Laughable ) And They Said There Was Nothing They Could Do . What They Can Do Is Fire The Driver It’s Rediculous That There Allowing The Driver To Bump People Out Of Money And Do Nothing About It . So Disappointed Won’t Be Ordering Again . Always Double Check Your Change When Ordering

1/5 Rotten. Cold,raw and just not how ur wanting your Fridays to go. Only had chips and cheese which was also about £4.5 came with hardly any cheese and chips stone cold and raw

Delivery was promt.. Food was hot and overall tasty.. Curry sauce was too salty for my taste...Would have been 5 stars but for the sauce..

Ordered from here as my usual Chinese is closed for some reason. We'll I have to say, I'll definitely be ordering again. I got the salt and chilli chicken chow mein and it was great, the rest of the family enjoyed theirs too. 5 stars

Ordered a set meal for one, plenty to choose from and at a reasonable price. Payed extra for chips. The delivery driver was on time very friendly and food was piping hot which is a good sign. Large portions, food was fresh and very tasty, had the beef chow mein first and the barbecue spare ribs & the chicken and sweetcorn soup later on as their was too much food. Will definitely order again. 👌

Absolutely shocking ordered at half 7 told food was delivered at 8.20 when it wasn't phone take away at 8.40 to be told it was delivered when it clearly wasn't it sent again at half 9 total disgrace

Totally recommend this Chinese takeaway restaurant. Food is always first class, especially the chicken curry, beef and mushroom and the satay meal. Try it and see. I'm sure you'll order from here again.

Once the food was delivered it was cold and congealed and pretty much unedible, it went in the bin, we will not be ordering again.

I've had the flu all week. And haven't been able to eat properly and I fancied some spicy chicken noodle soup and made me feel so much better and was fresh and extremely tasty 😋. Food was lovely and delivery driver was nice too.

Received a delivery and I was extremely disappointed with the beef in my meal it was as tough as old boots. Delivery was the only good thing about it . Will definitely not be ordering from here again.

Today I received my order wrong for the 5TH time. I write in the notes that I dont want vegetables in my order with the fact i spend atleast £27 everytime for the family and I also call the shop to 'repeat' what i write in the notes section as they told me 'they don't look at them when they are busy' and this is why I call them to explain that i dont want it in my meal. The guy on the phone usually finds it funny to tell me that it's not his problem and tries in no way to resolve the issue by refund or replacing the food. Really disappointed as i LOVE the food from here, but i refuse to have the order wrong for a 6th time. I will unfortunately not be ordering from here again, it truly is a shame and it's the first time I've ever left a bad review on a takeaway.

Great options available, they do both the “Glasgow Chinese” and real authentic Asian food. The Thai range is out of this world!! Salt and chilli is great too! Portion size is generous. Couldn’t really fault them. Good food, good service.

Best for miles. They do a chicken in barbecue sauce for the kids & they love it. Spicy chicken noodle soup is superb & the curry's are brilliant aswell. Clean plates all round when we get a takeaway from them so worth giving them a try 👍

Nice and local to me, I have had food from here a few times and it is always decent.

Would of been 5 star except there is poor custumer service! A trainee took my order & got it wrong, called to tell them and got attudude, said they didnt charge for something so charge for the missing item & £3 delivery added ontop ehh no thanks pal i already paid £3 delivery .. It was the shops mistake but iv to pay another £3? Gtf £6 to get my dinner delivered il crack the jokes

Ordered from here and the girl never heard my order right. I then received the wrong order. When I phoned back and I explained her answer was "naw ye definitely didny" said she couldn't do anything about it as she had read it back but the manner she spoke to me on the phone was terrible customer service. Lost a regular customer

El mejor chino para llevar en Glasgow por ahora n He intentado muchos Tan genial n fresco la comida nunca tuvo una mala todavía Mi esposa es muy pirnickity con su comida, pero lo ama también aquí anhela las cajas de aperitivos Los platos de pollo son muy suculentos y también mueren por Lo que es tan bueno son las porciones allí masivas que nunca pueden terminarlo Y allí las galletas de gambas son grandes y bellas Calidad china

This takeaway is local to us but we have only recently tried it. Can not fault this place at all food is amazing and always piping hot the few times we have ordered. Our new favourite chinese.

I only ever have chicken from there and it's superb. Doesn't taste or feel like it's been boiled in water. Flavour is good and rice is actually fried. Other places tickle the rice with heat. I love this place. Does anyone remember the "Joy Kwan" on Maryhill Road? I'd love to find a place like this again. Meidou is the closest I've found in Glasgow.
