24 quid for a single tub with a few bit and bobs in it, 😓

Used an Itison voucher on a Sunday evening and it was well worth the money! The portion sizes are big and food delicious. The staff are so lovely and can't do enough for you. I'll be going back and have bought a voucher for my parents. The best Indian food I've had in a long time! Would highly recommend. The only thing that let the atmosphere down was a really high pitched noise that kept going off, I think it was the phone but an unpleasant ringer. Obviously I don't expect them to stop the phone from ringing but maybe change the ringer or turn it down ever so slightly. Everything else was perfect and I'll be back.

Good food decent delivery time

Ordered a meal tonight from sshoka and it was the worst indian takeaway iv had yet. The food was so salty, almost inedible, it went in the bin. So dissapointing. Iv had food here before and it was nice. Its not cheap! Wont be buying from you again ashoka.

In my experience, just eat deletes any reviews that they don't like, that's why there are no reviews with fewer stars! and the owners know this especially with their response whit a little more info would help 😉 but no one can respond again on just eat, only Google reviews can be edited, it was a delivery that we got only for it to turn up cold and someone replied that we suffered from the cold bag delivery 😆 and to contact them, but why didn't they contact the customer??? The food was handed to me in a blue plastic bag at my front door, absolutely no heat or insulation bag what so ever was seen on this day!

food was excellent. service was great. no complaints at all and would 100% use again.

Just ordered takeaway. Our experience is a mirror of previous regards extremely small portions. Greasy pakora, 6 bits in a portion, curries with hardly half a chicken breast in each. This place must think every order is a child's portion whilst charging top money for their privilege of taking the piss. Never again. Trust me. Even if you complain they offer a free dish next time which, if you're lucky, might bring the portion size up to what you've paid for. I tried them before, gave them another chance, same outcome. Spend your money elsewhere guys.

Staff are outstanding and helpful

Ordered a takeaway after having a lovely meal in the restaurant a few weeks ago. Very disappointed. I had chasni and my hubbie had a creamy jalfrezi. Chicken was tough in both meals. Pakora batter soggy and nan bread dried up.

Food was ok, pretty average compared with other Indian takeaways in the local area. Quality of chicken and naan bread were a bit disappointing but otherwise fine.

Food was bland, garlic nan wasn’t garlicy at all

Lost my order wanted an hour till they sorted it out never used the place before and got told good things about it but never ever again will I ever go back to the place top it all was getting discount online ended up paying in full for my order all to busy chatting

Visited for a Pre Theatre meal and both the food and service were 1st class. Would recommend this restaurant for couples and families.

I’ve eaten in the restaurant and food is always amazing - unfortunately the carry out we got was not the same, sauce was very bland and tasteless and tactile didn’t taste the same as it does when you sit in so I was very disappointed.

Ordered a few times before and food was fantastic, last two orders have been half an our late and the rice has been very watery.

delivery was great..fast and food arrived lovely and warm..the garlic naan was amazing as was the pratha..chicken tikka portion size was great and the meat was delicious..the pilau rice was more like wild rice, the chicken bhuna was average, the sauce wasn't warm or rich, the chicken was small chopped bits and were hard and chewy.. wouldn't get bhuna again.

Food was cold, sauce very greasy and popadoms soft. Have had great food from here before but not this time.

Ordered a chicken chasni with about 3 pieces of chicken. A chicken tikka which want a chicken tikka meal! Also had about 3 pieces and full of lime and coriander. A kids chicken nugget meal which has reheated. Delivered 1.5 hours later. Disgrace!

I got a delivery through Uber eats the pakora was dry and inedible probably reheated the Bombay potato was vile definitely the worst curry I've ever had !

Food was nice quality however the sauce I had (south Indian) was very, very watery and vinegary, it had a nice heat to it but the overall flavour was very off. This sauce came with tandoori chicken which was overpowered with coriander - as coriander is such a divisive flavour (I find it soapy) the chicken wasn’t great for me. Shame.

The food is always delicious. Staff are all extremely friendly and it has a lovely atmosphere.

What great food & great service. Called as our naan bread didn’t come with our order. Not only did the restaurant send us our naan straight away but also a portion of pakora.

Went on Valentines day with my husband and we had a fab time. The restaurant is lovely. Its situated upstairs and is quote spacious. Decor is bang up to date with lovely comfy chairs. Service was excellent- staff couldn't do enough for us. Food was superb. Every course was faultless. The Valentines package deal was brilliant value. Everything was cooked fresh, looked visibly appealing and most importantly, tasted amazing. Would definitely visit again and would thoroughly recommend to anyone who loves Indian food. **UPDATE 14TH MARCH** Another amazing meal in this great wee hidden gem in Muirhead. Had the spiced onions & popadoms then sharing platter starter with pakoras, samosa, bhaji - all lovely hot and fresh. Then Hubby had Chicken Rogan Josh and I had Lamb Lababdar. We had fried rice and a plain naan. The food was so good. The lamb was melt in the mouth and the sauce was thick, creamy and with a hint of spice. The Rogan Josh was creamy and mildly spicy with the chicken lovely and tender. The staff are attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The setting is beautiful and prices are very reasonable. Definitely be back again.

Great night with my hubby. The staff were all friendly and eager to make sure everything was perfect. The food was amazing and big portions as we needed a doggy bag lol. Recommended this restaurant for a lovely meal and great atmosphere.

Everything had a fish like taste , the sauce was too creamy for a rogan Josh and the Lagan ki boti swimming in grease

Called after ordering to double check dietary requirements and they were super helpful & knowledgeable. After spending 2 weeks in India, I was craving more mood & the quality was immense! The pashwarri naan is to die for. Thank you so much!

Food was out of this world. So tasty. All staff were so friendly, especially Chaitali (hope got the name right), who took special care and time out to chat and get to know us. Was a brilliant atmosphere and will definitely be back.

Wouldn’t normally leave a review but honestly my food was awful tonight. The chicken tikka chasni was very watery and the chicken tasted off, and there wasn’t much of it. The nan bread was dried out. None of it was fresh. The chicken pakora was ok but not great. 30.00 wasted. Definitely not ordering again!

A taste of India, good choices warm plates, great prices

Excellent food and sweet friendly stuff!! My fav Indian restaurant! Just back from 3 weeks in Northern India and I definitely needed to taste again that authentic Indian Punjabi food that I had in Amritsar and at Ashoka the taste is EXACTLY the same (especially the paratha that you can't easily get the proper one). Music was also so cute. And place was spotless!! So so pleased I found this place🙏

I ordered a takeaway this evening which included a chicken chasni. The container pretty much looked like sauce, with no visible signs of chicken. There were 9 small/medium pieces of chicken in the meal. In total it would equate to half a breast. £9.95 for this dish, and in comparison to other local Indian takeaways, this is poor.

Good food, got everything I ordered

Chips and pakora are mass-produced in advance and then reheated in a microwave, giving dried out horrible food. Not good quality. Curries are first class though.

The food was good, usually use another and was told this was excellent but other restaurant is better. Just being honest.

We did an order which was £48 and didn’t even get free popadoms. The portion sizes are small. The veg pakora was £5.95 for a tiny box (same price as chicken which is strange and no option for mixed). Both starters were half full and it was a small square box of chips. The nan looked like one you would buy from Asda. First time trying here and we won’t be returning as really disappointing.

Tandoori prawn starter very expensive for 3 prawns! Everything else was good

Food was outstanding as was the service. Very attentive staff and catered very well towards the children in our group also. I will definitely go back. Only one tiny thing was the room was a bit too hot. Can’t wait to go back.

Got from Just Eat got Chicken tikka Chicken was greasy and Masala sauce had loads of veg in it. I hv nvr known a Masala sauce to hv veg in it sorry won't b gettin another delivery

2nd year enjoying a delicious Xmas dinner in the Ashoka, staff were very attentive and a lovely atmosphere in both the bar and restaurant. Raj the manager went over and above to fit us in for a very last minute booking.

Good quality tikka , could have been a bit more chicken. The pakora was a bit soggy as carton is polystyrene material.

Good food and tasty but was around 25-30 minutes late!

Pakora batter not very pleasant. Flavour of cardamom (or something similar) overpowered everything. The Ceylonese Korma was also quite spicey and unpleasant, and the pilau rice wasn’t that nice either. The garlic naan was very dry and was more like a garlic and herb naan. All in all, won’t be back.

Food was delivered on time, piping hot and delicious!! I made a genuine error with my order which was dealt with at no extra cost! Excellent customer service. Thank you!
