Wouldn’t normally leave a review but honestly my food was awful tonight. The chicken tikka chasni was very watery and the chicken tasted off, and there wasn’t much of it. The nan bread was dried out. None of it was fresh. The chicken pakora was ok but not great. 30.00 wasted. Definitely not ordering again!

A taste of India, good choices warm plates, great prices

Excellent food and sweet friendly stuff!! My fav Indian restaurant! Just back from 3 weeks in Northern India and I definitely needed to taste again that authentic Indian Punjabi food that I had in Amritsar and at Ashoka the taste is EXACTLY the same (especially the paratha that you can't easily get the proper one). Music was also so cute. And place was spotless!! So so pleased I found this place🙏

I ordered a takeaway this evening which included a chicken chasni. The container pretty much looked like sauce, with no visible signs of chicken. There were 9 small/medium pieces of chicken in the meal. In total it would equate to half a breast. £9.95 for this dish, and in comparison to other local Indian takeaways, this is poor.

Good food, got everything I ordered

Chips and pakora are mass-produced in advance and then reheated in a microwave, giving dried out horrible food. Not good quality. Curries are first class though.

The food was good, usually use another and was told this was excellent but other restaurant is better. Just being honest.

Tandoori prawn starter very expensive for 3 prawns! Everything else was good

We did an order which was £48 and didn’t even get free popadoms. The portion sizes are small. The veg pakora was £5.95 for a tiny box (same price as chicken which is strange and no option for mixed). Both starters were half full and it was a small square box of chips. The nan looked like one you would buy from Asda. First time trying here and we won’t be returning as really disappointing.

Food was outstanding as was the service. Very attentive staff and catered very well towards the children in our group also. I will definitely go back. Only one tiny thing was the room was a bit too hot. Can’t wait to go back.

Best Indian Restaurant in the district. Lamb Tikka was superb, great lager on draught and staff couldn’t do enough 👍🏻

Got from Just Eat got Chicken tikka Chicken was greasy and Masala sauce had loads of veg in it. I hv nvr known a Masala sauce to hv veg in it sorry won't b gettin another delivery

2nd year enjoying a delicious Xmas dinner in the Ashoka, staff were very attentive and a lovely atmosphere in both the bar and restaurant. Raj the manager went over and above to fit us in for a very last minute booking.

Good quality tikka , could have been a bit more chicken. The pakora was a bit soggy as carton is polystyrene material.

Good food and tasty but was around 25-30 minutes late!

Pakora batter not very pleasant. Flavour of cardamom (or something similar) overpowered everything. The Ceylonese Korma was also quite spicey and unpleasant, and the pilau rice wasn’t that nice either. The garlic naan was very dry and was more like a garlic and herb naan. All in all, won’t be back.

Food was delivered on time, piping hot and delicious!! I made a genuine error with my order which was dealt with at no extra cost! Excellent customer service. Thank you!

Chicken tikka Korma and masala both pretty disappointing, pilau rice ok. Kids meals 0/5- chips soggy, chicken nuggets v cheap and rubbery, pizza horrific.

Starter of onion Bhaji was too salty and also very spicy, couldn’t be eaten, rest of the meal was ok.

Had a slight issue with my order , after speaking with manager and the driver coming back out , everything was sorted very professionally . Food is always tremendous and this one issue wont put me off from ordering again and 10/10 from the manager

Been ordering from here regularly since it opened. Ordered a curry with chicken tikka but received bland normal overcooked chicken. Complained to the restaurant and was told to come to the restaurant and see the chicken tikka for myself lol. Also ordered a fish curry which was in batter(didnt say that on the menu) and had gone soggy with the batter mixing through the sauce, genuinely the worst curry ive ever had. The potatoes were good. Probably wont be ordering from here for a while or again.

Chicken tikka and veg pakora were nice, but also ordered a Murgh Makhanwala (butter chicken) from Signature Dishes for £13.95 which was unmistakably made from Heinz cream of tomato soup. Tasted more like a pasta sauce than a curry. No rice with it.

For the price the quantity was poor!

Walked in without booking and had a warm welcome and great service by the wonderful friendly staff. Food was absolutely amazing. Beautiful restaurant, spotlessly clean, loved it.

We booked for 4pm this week. Raj looked after us. What a great meal we had. My wife is still talking about it an says it was the best Indian meal she's ever had. I must admit that it's one of the best I've had. We started with the Samosa and the pakora for our starters....they were excellent. Raj explained that they were both home made. The mains were lovely too. We had the Creamy Jalfrezi & the spicy Jalfrezi. I recommend that anyone reading this tries the Ashoka in Muirhead. You won't be disappointed. I'm looking forward to my next visit 👍

I’m regular customer here especially lamb biryani. I had enjoyed every time previous one and I recommended so many people however today I had a bad experience. Biryani chops are very very hard.

Great meal, 1 main, 1 side, paratha and rice. It was sufficiently enough for 2 people.

The food was horrible. It was meant to be a chasni but was a very pale orange/yellow colour and was very spicy. The nan was crispy and not fluffy.

Always been a fan of the Ashoka brand ever since I lived in Patrick when they had only the one restaurant back in the 80s. First time with Muirhead Ashoka and it was one of the best food I’ve had for a while. Will defo be ordering again from them

A once nice place that unfortunately has become very poor. Flavourless sauces and chicken tikka that tastes like boiled chicken with no flavour. Shall not be ordering again

What an experience we had with our first and last order with Ashoka. The order was due to appear between 6.45pm and 7.05pm we chased it up about 7.30pm and were told it would be there in five minutes. We called again at 8pm to be told it had been delivered, which wasn't the case. Then they hung our call up, then we called again and agreed to pick up a fresh order. When my partner arrived at Ashoka, no one seemed to know anything about it, and the order turned up at our door at the same time. It was presumably the original order as it was stone cold. The curries were decent enough after a blast in the microwave, but the nan and pakora were a bit of a lost cause. The main problem for us was the lack of customer service. We're not complaining types but we were more or less accused of lying that the delivery hadn't been delivered when it appears the delivery driver still had it. Won't be using again.

Don’t normally order from here but got a delivery tonight. It came luke warm. The chicken tikka Chasni tasted like dishwater and absolutely did not resemble a Chasni. Whatever we got wasn’t even in the same family as a Chasni, I have no clue what it was. The chicken was tough and grisly. The fish pakora was mushy. Genuinely one of the worst meals I’ve had in my life I felt compelled to leave a review. I feel bad leaving a negative review but I’m horrified this has made my hangover 100x worse I’m gonna cry x

The starters weren’t the usual quality, the desi chicken definitely wasn’t fresh and had been pre cooked and reheated, dry as a bone. The Poori was ok, not as nice as usual. The main was exceptional as always. Absolutely amazing.

Easily some of the best food I’ve had in a long time. And it’s pretty consistent too. 10/10 would definitely recommend

would of been definitely top marks ,couldn't fault the food however they forgot my poppadoms which wouldn't of been such an issue if I hadn't ordered a pickle tray which meant I ended up with 7 pots of dips/chutney that I didn't use

I absolutely love this place. I've been there numerous times since it opened and ordered many takeaways. My favourite is South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken but there are many dishes I like. Haggis pakora is my number one starter although everything I've tried is amazing. The staff are always excellent, so I highly recommend Ashoka Muirhead.

quality very less. Desi fried chicken : only 3 pieces, felt like eating chicken nugget. Chicken poori: very sweet, quantity is very less. kathi roll: no spicy. I am expecting good quantity and at least some spicy for the amount I paid.

Wrote feedback to them in an email after 2 back to back orders that were either wrong / incorrect. Never got a response. I wrote a review on Just eat to give some feedback, wasn't even trying to claim any money back and what I got was 'fake review'. Some how others can give the same/similar feedback yet when I say it, it must be fake. I had been ordering twice a month from them from when they opened and it wasn't till March that the orders were terrible. Won't be going back and there are better indians in the area. And I will continue to tell all the locals this too due to how poorly you handle feedback.

First off delivery time was great food was hot but found the curry’s to be extremely oily which was very off putting. Not happy with the order and binned the meal really disappointed.

During my recent trip to Glasgow, I had the pleasure of dining at an Indian restaurant in Muirhead. The atmosphere was vibrant and inviting, and the Coconut King Prawn dish I tried was absolutely delicious. The mix of flavors was mind-blowing and the tandoori chicken, seasoned with traditional Indian spices, was incredibly tender. Overall, my experience at this restaurant was truly unforgettable.

Put an order in for collection and food was ready to collect as soon as I arrived, 5 min car journey home and the food was inedible, frozen as it had been sat for ages before my pick up time, the chops were not only frozen but looked completely dried out and there was no cheese on the cheesy masala chips or cheese naan that was ordered. The food was appalling. The customer service I can’t fault they offered a replacement order which I declined and they gave me a refund instead. Unfortunately I wouldn’t order food from them again.

Bit of a hit and a miss tonight. The Poori was the best I’ve ever tasted, the chicken tikka was also exceptional. The Jalandhri sauce was overly greasy, (like a layer an cm think of grease) and loaded with green peppers which was unusual. Still tasted nice. The cheese nan had absolutely no cheese on it and was definitely not fresh. Was like chewing gum. Nan is usually your strong point.

first time ordered, the food was delivered on time but everything was look warm at best. chicken pakora soggy, pakora sauce half full tubs, nann bread cold and hard curry sauce slightly warm same as the rice the mixed grill slightly warm again probably better sitting in for a meal rather than a takeaway.

I ordered my meal online at 6.30pm, received notification that it would be delivered in next 60 minutes. 8pm I phoned and was passed about 3 different people and eventually told it would be with me in minutes. Almost 15 minutes later it arrived. On opening the bag I discovered I had no naan bread, so I had to phone again. There was an apology and offer of a few gratis cans of juice and delivery of my naan asap. The delivery driver arrived within 5 minutes, now almost 8.25pm, he too apologised. Now I thought, I can have my dinner. On serving my Biriyani up I thought, that meat looks awfully dark for chicken, that's because it wasn't chicken as I had ordered but indeed beef. This is now 8.35pm, over 2 hours since placing my order. I did not have the energy nor was I of the right temperament at this point to make a 3rd call. I'd heard so many nice things about Ashoka, however have been left thoroughly disappointed.

Dined at the Ashöka in Muirhead tonight. The food was lovely and service professional. Nothing to complain about. Would recommend!

last 2 orders have been inedible due to everything being saltier than the dead sea! Latest order we received had a missing item also, and its for the bin. We won't be back.

Ordered at 6:30pm and opted to collect in the restaurant, collection confirmed for 7pm. Arrived just before 7 and was told my order wouldn’t be long. Waited for over an hour and 20 minutes from ordering and still hadn’t received my food. Told repeatedly that my order wouldn’t be long. Watched several customers come in to order food in person and leave before me. I was offered complementary wine and beer with the meal however I cancelled the order and requested a refund via Just Eat which was approved quickly. Poor customer service.

Absolutely outstanding again. Great portion sizes, chicken is different class. If I had one complaint it would be the that the paneer pakora was freezing cold. When the curry and the nan is that good it’s hard to be moany about the starter. Brilliant guys.
