One of the best restaurants that I've been to with traditional Scottish dishes - food is incredibly tasty - prices are very honest. Portions are quite big. - suitable for a first date 🌹 - toilets available - free parking available

An excellent service provided from Jessie and her fellow colleagues. I had a family reunion for 21 people booked and could not have been more happier with how well and organized the staff handled it. The speed and quality of food that came out was excellent. I would highly recommend and look forward to my next visit. Thank you. 😊❤️

We've had the most fabulous meals and service at Armstrong's. Staying at the (great) campsite next door I'd seen the reviews and thought we'd give it a try. This restaurant doesn't look anything special from outside, but it's a gem! The food is delicious, proper home cooked high quality ingredients, the service is fabulous too. It's important to book as it's often busy!

Little gem of a place we came across whilst at the peel farm Glamping pods and were in need of a decent feed. The food was all locally sourced and cooked to perfection the steak pie my partner had was the best she has had and the burger was faultless along with the service. If your about the area don’t hesitate to get yourself along for a meal

Not as inviting from the inside, and also the interior does not sufficiently display the excellent cuisine served here. We went for dinner. The menu offers a mix of Scottish as well as international meals. You can go with a la carte or from a dinner menu, offering different options for starters mains and desserts. They also offer a vegan menu. We ordered a la carte. Tomato soup as starter, delicious with a nice pinch of chili. Mains were lamb and bream. Both plates‘ visual presentations were amazing and the taste was exceptional. Nicely balanced sauces, perfectly cooked meat and fish, and various delicious vegetables on the side (Brokkoli, asparagus, carrots…). Desserts were stunning, too. Sticky toffee pudding and lemon tart - both again presented so nice and the taste was a mix of finely composed delicate aromas (tart) or just an amazing classic perfectly done (pudding). The service was super welcoming, polite and pleasantly reserved. Loved it. You should drop by when you’re around.

Very good meat restaurant. Unfortunately spoiled by the fact that although we asked for rare and blue Angus meat, it arrived more than cooked. At the price of meat this is a shame. Very good starter and good service

Me & my daughter came here on Friday for something to eat,Everything was 5🌟 My 16 year daughter is a fussy eater and she said the lasagna was delicious and was the best she had ever tasted!!! Just for that it was worth 5 🌟 but also the burger of the day was one of the best burgers I'd ever had aswell. Well recommend and if I'm ever in the area again I'll be differently be coming back. Our go to for a treat lunch or evening meal. The decor is cosy and welcoming. The food is always delicious and the staff are friendly, accommodating and professional. A good selection on the kids menu also and options that do include vegetables.

I phoned mid week to book a table on the bar level for this afternoon and was told that was okay but when my husband and I got there the table booking was down the stairs I was told to use the ramp and the table was just at the bottom, I reiterated again that I couldn't walk far but they wouldn't budge - why take my booking with the request if you had no intention of fulfilling it? Not impressed. Service very slow although food good when we got it. Will stay away from Sunday lunchtime in future

Went here couple weeks ago with friends, haven't been in so long. I thought I already did review but I can't seem to find it. Fantastic food, great service, will definitely be back. There were 5 of us, you got about 4 menu, fantastic choices I honestly couldn't fault it. We were last to leave. Staff were 5 star, for starter I had brie, then steak with stilton sauce beautiful, not keen on dessert but noticed they did sorbets on some dessert so asked if i could just have sorbet, nothing was any trouble. Can't wait to come back. We all paid separately again not problem x

First visit and will absolutely go back - the carvery was delicious, staff were very attentive and friendly, and great value for money.

Had a good meal here. Been here numerous times over the past 4 years and it's been good every time we've visited. I had steak pie this time, which I enjoyed. My only criticism was the veg serving was miniscule. No need to skimp on veg portion size - don't do it please 🙏

The staff made this place for us, so attentive, brought water for the dogs and we didn't even ask. Food was lovely and above what we expected.. the venison and blue cheese burgers were a great hit. Definitely recommend if you are in the area

Foods excellent with great service

Lovely place out in the country to enjoy a drink and or a very tasty meal. Just visiting friends and was told to try it out. I googled it first, looked at their menu online but that is out of date as they don't do some of the dishes any more plus the prices are not correct ! eg; fish and chips is now £16.95, not £13.95 as advertised on the website. See photos. I would have given 5 stars if the prices had been correct. The dishes we had were very tasty and the service was very smooth. They were quite busy with about 30 covers but had plenty of friendly staff to make our visit very pleasant.

Absolutely fantastic! The steak pie is honestly the best that I have ever tasted. The meat was unbelievably tender and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious starter main and dessert

I ate here last night with my partner the food was absolutely stunning I had scallops with blackpudding in a wonderful sauce had it many times but this was the best ever and large s allows too ..my main was venison and just wow ..and sweets were all amazing very hard to choose ..unfortunately I don't live in the area was just a weekend break ..but we will certainly be back.

I went for dinner with my wife, I had the scallops for starter, pork belly for main with sweet potato chips and the rhubarb white chocolate cheese cake for dessert. The food was very nice, simple but special with small twists on everything. My wife had the fried brie cheese, vegan curry and brownie. Her food was good but nothing special for a vegetarian, the curry was fine but way too spicy and with nothing like yogurt to cool it a bit. Altogether a very nice experience with a great waitress. Would recommend it if you're all meat eaters the food is very good and a bit different than the usual British cuisine.

Fantastic setting, relaxed atmosphere and very welcoming staff. A beautiful restaurant and the quality of food was of the highest level. It was our first visit and this will mow be our weekly treat.

First time here. We’ve been in the Dovers a lot of times and this is their sister restaurant. Good food and great service
