Food is unbelievable! Highly recommend coming here. The staff are lovely, and it’s just a really nice place to enjoy some great food, I had the Cumana Arepa which was just amazing. Will be coming back again!

We visited this evening and we were blown away by how amazing the food was!! The team were so friendly and helpful, service was so fast - and food 10/10 for quality! I used to visit Arepa2Go when they went to the Love Southsea Market, and then at Outside In. We’ve been away from portsmouth for a few years, but just knew we had to come here - and it did not disappoint! It’s been amazing to see this business grow and do so well. We just wish we lived closer!!

We love this place, the best Venezuelan food in England. Our favourites are the beef empanadas, and the tequeños with guasaca sauce. The arepas are a 10/10. And you cannot leave the place without trying the chicha. Best dessert ever. Thank you Arepa 2GO. You makes us happy every time. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Genuinely my fav place to eat, ever, anywhere. Such warm welcomes and great service when you go and the food is unreal. Any time I have a visitor they join us here and rave about it. Also dog friendly! The halloumi fries!! Unbelievable.

Big shoutout to this amazing Venezuelan restaurant! It’s my second visit this month, and I’ve enjoyed it just as much as the first time. The food is incredibly fresh and made fast. They offer a fantastic selection of arepas (gluten-free corn pockets) with a variety of delicious fillings. Don’t forget to check out their specials menu. The staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home. This place has such a great vibe — I’m pretty sure I’ll be back again soon.

A wonderful, relaxed little Venezuelan eatery just off the main drag in Southsea visited - whilst holidaying. I am ashamed to say I have not tried Arepas before but this won't be my last time! They are slightly crunchy outside but soft and fluffy in the middle and the fillings were amazing! Loved the feel of the place, the food felt authentic, it was clearly made with care and love. The owner(?)/chef was engaging and warm. This sort of independent venue, representing a little slice of somebody's food culture, is truly a beautiful thing. A must visit if you are local or in the area on holiday.

More expensive than I remember - arepa and chips and a beer sets you back nearly £30 as of 2025 so whilst the food is tasty, I feel the chips I had - Papitas Fritas (c.£9) represent poor value for money in my opinion as I thought the portion is small and is basically a small portion of chips with mostly feta cheese on them. I do think businesses have to work harder to bring value for money. Whilst I totally want to support these "independents", in chain restaurants you can eat in and still get 2 course set menus (e.g. The Ivy, Chichester) for £20 and so it was an eye opener for this "street food" that originated at the outside in food court back in the day to now feels like a special treat rather than a go-to, which is a shame we thought.

Popped in here on Sunday afternoon - what a gem of a restaurant. A lovely family run business with delicious food and we had such a nice time chatting to the owners who created such a friendly atmosphere. We can't wait to go back 🥰 thank you.

Was a very nice experience and had travelled to Portsmouth just for it! The atmosphere was sublime and felt very 'tropical' for a very cold day. Food was excellent, and matched the pricing points for quality! Staff were also very friendly. Will be visiting again when I get the chance.

February 2025 - Update to my original review below: We have been here several times now - it is one our favourite local restaurants. The prices are slightly higher now but I feel it's still good value because of the large portions, excellent service and lovely atmosphere. On our latest visit we had the Caracas arepa, beef empanadas and a soft drink. We also got to try some crispy mini arepas with house made cheese dip - these were amazing, served piping hot with a yummy tangy cream cheese. The arepa was stuffed with a large quantity of tender beef, black beans, fried plantain, green sauce and white cheese - very filling. Empanadas were filled with tender, flavourful beef. Everything was freshly made. Original review: Just saw this bright new place opened up in Southsea. Very friendly service. We only dropped in for churros which were freshly fried and delicious. Menu looks interesting, with some Venezuelan soft drinks and beers on offer. Everything looks very clean and hygienic. We went back later in the week to try other things on the menu. We ordered the Caracas arepa, beef empanadas and a Frescolita soft drink. The food was filling and delicious, freshly made. The Frescolita is like an ice cream soda taste - we enjoyed it. We had to finish with churros. The place was busy with Spanish music playing. The lady who runs the front of house is super friendly.

Amazing place with many vegan options! We tried the cassava fries, tostones, and of course arepas which all were incredible. The atmosphere and music is beautiful. It’s a family business and you can practice your Spanish!

The food was absolutely delicious - served quickly and very fresh! A good range of options, catering for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans and also gluten free options. Staff were very friendly and took time to explain the menu, as well as checking in after the meal to ensure everything was okay. The restaurant is small but plenty of seating, nicely decorated and a great atmosphere. I will definitely be returning!

Today I visited this place after finding it on Uber Eats, and I can honestly say that the experience was amazing, one of the best I’ve had in the UK. The food was incredible, and the customer service was top (Rosa is amazing and lovely). It’s a very warm and welcoming place, you’ll truly feel like you’re in Venezuela. We had Caracas Arepas, Ávila, and Sifrina, as well as tequeños, empanadas de carne, and for drinks, the typical Polar beer and Chicha. I highly recommend it 100%. I’d come back to Portsmouth just to eat here!

I absolutely love Arepa2go!! I first visited here the day I moved to the area and I was so hooked that it's the place I visit most for food. You'll get a warm, sunny welcome, along with some incredible delicious food. My favourites are the Sifrina arepa, Papitas Fritas and the special seafood empanadas. You can't go wrong with a trip here, thoroughly recommend!!

Incredibly lovely place with very nice staff! Me and my boyfriend love latin food and as soon as we saw this place on the map it was a must and the food was even better than my expectations. The staff is a family from Venezuela (all incredibly nice) they were even closing when we arrived but the service was 10/10. The music is latin music, so you can expect a bit of salsa, merengue and nice latin vibes in general. We ordered arepas (Ávila and Caracas) and it was excellent. Would definitely recommend to anyone that is visiting Portsmouth and I hope I can go back soon😍🥰 🇻🇪

If I could give 6 stars I would. The best arepas I have eaten in a long time. The tequeños and the delicious empanadas. Not to mention the churros! We devour them. And I went home with a drink for the road. Spectacular. And the attention a 10! I highly recommend it and we will return to try the other arepas. 🙌🏻🙌🏻

A must go to spot. Delicious food and a supper friendly staff that explain all their tasty treats. I went for the Caracas and it was packed with pulled beef, plantains, black beans, plantains, cheese, and a delicious cilantro sauce. It was so good we went back the next day for a late lunch! Got one with chicken in an avocado sauce, plantains & cheese. Freshly made and so many options!

Delicious food, absolutely loved it. All set in an authentic Venezuelan atmosphere with some very jibing music to accompany. You can sense the love and attention the owners have given this restaurant. We were greeted by a lovely lady at the counter.

Authentic Venezuelan food in Southsea. This was a surprising find outside London. The decor makes it feel as if you are in a beach cafe on the Carribbean coast. The arepas were top notch all washed down with Polar beer. Venezuela the way you want to remember it.

Tried Arepas 2 go for the first time with my friends and we loved the food so much. The atmosphere was so friendly and helpful as we weren’t too sure what to get. I had the Arepas Caracas and it was unreal, haven’t eaten anything like it. Definitely give it a go and even better, it’s all gluten free ! Looking forward to next time I can go back :)

Friendly service in a fairly basic dining area , it is simple and quite casual. The food was delicious and simply served as one might expect. Suited me fine and was I well satisfied with the food and service which I did not think too expensive. Well, it's worth a visit, and I won't be a stranger there. It was busy on the night I visited, and for me, the casual dining is one of its attractions.

Absolutely adore this place! Second time I've gone and it's fantastic! The food itself is so good and we just kept ordering. We really enjoy the Empanadas and the Latina fries which taste so good. Also the first time I went with my friend who has to have gluten free food and they were delighted to see so many options. The service is so special, you get such a warm welcome and it feels so lovely and relaxing to just sit in and eat. It's also dog friendly so your furry friend can spend time with you too. I'd definitely highly recommend this place if you are in Portsmouth and want a bite to eat. Definitely one of the most welcoming and wholesome places here and I can't wait to go back for more!

We have spent a few days on vacation in this area, and we have heard about the tasty Venezuelan food they prepare here. We loved their delicious arepas and a homemade chicha to sweeten our day. The service and atmosphere of the place are incredible. I recommend it to everyone, if you pass by, don't hesitate to take it with you for the return trip, like we did, with a couple of empanadas for our return home.

Amazing to put it simply. The food is great, the arepas are reasonably priced and are really filling, the empanadas are different than I'm used to from home but man it's so good! Go try it out if you can. They have a deal when we went on Thursday that's 20% off the arepas AND 10% off if you bought cash. Try it out!

I found this place on Instagram, it caught my attention and we decided to go try it. It was more than enchanting with the attention of the staff, the quality of the food, all delicious, and the cleanliness of the place. It is really worth traveling to Portsmouth to enjoy some good arepas, we have been twice and we will surely return again!!
