Arcadia Delicatessen in Belfast

I ordered a bag of 80 Titanic tea bags online, and was charged £14 delivery! I immediately emailed them to cancel the order and explained that I was being charged £18 for a pack of 80 teabags. Later that day I received an email from Lucy who told me that they would refund £8, due to the fact that I had made a single item small order rather than order a hamper. I pointed out that since they had not dispatched the item, or had to arrange shipping, and I was not returning an item, they were acting illegally by withholding £10 for doing absolutely nothing! Seems a bit of a scam really. Anyway, I have informed my bank and Ireland’s trading trading standards authority, (NSAI) are now involved, and will be investigating. Advised that they have violated my “right of withdrawal”.

Overpriced. Nice selection of cheese, but not always fresh. The first time I visited, three weeks ago, the sell by date on my Conte rind had already passed. However, a few days later as I was very busy moving into my new home, I thought I’d give Arcadia another go. The service was very friendly and the salamis delicious (an older man, very courteous, sliced them beautifully for our picnic). Again however the Manchego-type cheese disappointed in appearance and taste - it was definitely fusty. Today I was relentlessly called ‘dear’ and patronised. I weighed my cheese when I got home - 98 grams, for which I was charged over £4, although the label priced it at under £3 per 100gm. Wheaten loaf not in the first flush of youth either. For a litre of milk, a small wheaten loaf, and 98 grams of cheese, the bill was £9. Not BT9 prices, not even Harrods’ prices. These are overpriced prices.

Really great experience at Arcadia Deli, the staff were both knowledgeable and helpful. The hamper I purchased for my brother’s birthday present went down really well!! The only negative point that must be pointed out is about the Local Charcuterie Platter, the product itself was great but could do with something separating the layers of meat. This is a high end product that’s enjoyment is being ruined by having to spend time poking and prising it apart

El Arcadia ha estado en el negocio durante mucho tiempo. Mi abuela (que falleció en 1958) hizo compras allí. Mi madre y mi tía compraban allí durante los años 50, 60 y 70. Logro continuar con la tradición cada vez que estoy en Belfast, y mi hijo ahora se ha convertido en un cliente regular (y entusiasta). La lealtad del cliente es un claro indicador de la calidad de cualquier negocio. Esta es una joya de un lugar excelente comida de calidad, personal servicial y si estás buscando algo inusual este es el lugar para encontrarlo. Desde un hermoso jamón cocido hasta una pate de hígado de pollo, desde mermeladas a la medida hasta panes artesanales, aquí encontrará todo.

Stunned reading the review by steveBelfast2018. A fantastic local business of over 85 years spanning 3 generations! The Arcadia is a real gem of a Deli and offers fantastic customer service and products. I particulary like their pate. Never tasted better. I have good friends in car sales local to the arcadia and they religiously buy their lunch time sandwiches there. They have reduced to 4 days a week recently in an effort to lose weight (won't go hungry here). Steve's review is so far from my experinece and feedback, i can only assume he owns/has interest in a rival deli. In summary, excellent, tasty, great range, filling and Brenda makes it all work. You wont meet anyone more personable and dedicated to great service!!

We stopped off on our way to holiday at Crom after the boat trip over from England. Great selection of cheeses, oatcakes, soda bread etc. Staff were really helpful and friendly. We ate well all week and then stopped off again on our way home as we had enjoyed our purchases so much. We had lots of goodies for the trip home and following week! If we lived locally then we would be regulars.

For a feeling of old school shopping, served by people with a passion for food, stop by Arcadia! Fabulous section of cheeses, fresh fish (displayed beautifully of a large table of ice) and gourmet treats galore. Expensive, but you get what you pay for!

If I could give zero on the rating I would. I ordered hampers online from this local business as Christmas gifts for family. Not only did they fail to deliver when specified, they also managed to address items incorrectly. When I called to try and sort out the issue I was given a variety of excuses (including that I must have used their online ordering facility incorrectly as the mistake could not possibly be theirs...I then sent them photographic evidence that they had in fact addressed parcels incorrectly, and it was their mistake). At each stage of trying to resolve the issue I was told something different - I was not called back when they said they would and I did not once receive an apology for their errors causing a great deal of inconvenience to me AND to the recipients. Each stage of my concerns was dealt with by Brenda. She failed to apologise, to call back when she said she would, or to even admit that the mistake was entirely their doing. I was told initially that the owner packed the hampers herself and there was no way there could be an error, I was then told the hampers were packed off site by someone else and that they had no control over this. I tried, on several occasions, to resolve this amicably, and was told before Christmas that they were just too busy to deal with my complaint and that they would contact me in the new year. It is now the 15th January and I have still not received a phone call, an apology, or any indication that they might be concerned about their level of customer service. Appalling

We have shopped at Arcadia for many years, and are very lucky to have such a wonderful treasure trove on the Lisburn Road. The staff are very knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful. The choice of products is amazing......cooked meats, cheeses, speciality foods, drinks, the list is endless. My grandchildren insist that I buy them apple salami every time I visit! They also supply wonderful gifts for celebrations, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Easter, Christmas etc. Food is fresh and the store is spotless. No wonder it has received many awards. If you haven't shopped here, you are missing a treat. Give it a visit soon.

I went there to buy special ingredients fora special meal. Everything I wanted was stocked. A little expensive. Staff were friendly.

Great for cheeses and all types of deli food. Cold meats are great and the fish counter is very good.

Well go in for two or things and come out with ten! Fabulous selection of charcuterie, cheeses, and much more. The home made black pepper is fab and whilst it's not cheap it so flavoursome you don't mind! Well worth a regular visit !

Esta fue una parada totalmente aleatoria. Después de parar en un poco fiable que buscan supermercado y nos dijeron que se había acabado de sándwiches, estábamos bastante hambre. Nos mandaron a Arcadia, que era justo al final de la carretera. Caminar por allí me pareció - increíble - una impresionante variedad de quesos, embutidos, aceitunas, etc. Nos sirvió una muy friendlylady que nos hizo pasaban allí desde las tres de nada a la venta en la tienda. Pensé que iban a ser dejábamos caro pero en 2,99 para un delicioso sandwich del pan de nueces hecho en la panadería de al lado, éste ha de ser uno de los mejores y más sabroso sandwiches de relación calidad-precio que he tenido. Garaje pasaban allí desde las tres suelen costar más de 3 libras y son horribles. Estas estaban fuera del mundo.
