Apple Tree in South Kesteven

Absolutely lovely care home, nothing is too much trouble, and all the staff are extremely compassionate, and hard working. The meals are incredible, and of a very good quality. It is worth noting that this is run as a not for profit business, so many of these are run by large companies whose only interest is making large profits. Thoroughly recommended.

After a fall at home, my Gran needed some time to rest and recover. Since day 1, all of the staff at Appletrees made sure she was comfortable and happy and had everything she needed to grow stronger and earn back as much independence as she possibly could. Nothing was too much trouble, all of the staff were always happy to answer any questions we had or reassure us of any of our worries. Special mention to Terry, who always came over for a chat and offered us a hot drink, and made sure we were looked after and felt welcome. He is an asset to the team! Keep doing what you’re doing Appletrees.

A large group of friends went to the Apple Tree Restaurant and enjoyed a lunch that touched all the taste buds. Prepared and served by the students under the caring eye of Kim,who had all manner of requests to deal with, and did so in a totally professional manner AND with a smile. This was reflected by the students and made for a very enjoyable dining experience.

We had a first class Christmas lunch on Monday, 14th. The food was delicious - all three courses and mince pies afterwards. My starter was something so different - smoked back bacon with a broad bean salad and tomato consomme. The traditional roast turkey was very tasty and I am so impressed with the service (I have an allergy to onions and without me having to remind anyone, my main course was presented without the stuffing or the gravy, both of which contained onions). Christmas pudding with brandy sauce was light and fruity (maybe a little too sweet). The students, under the care of Kim, were attentive and gave service with a smile. All in all a very pleasant experience and amazing value for money.

I have visited the Apple Tree restaurant on a couple of occassions, the most recent being a meal with colleagues. The choice is food is one best in town and the balance and use of various flavours is delightful! My favourite dessert to date has to be the pimms fruit jelly with cucumber sorbet; interesting and delicious! As the restaurant is run by students, for students, the food is exceptionally well priced and you certainly will not find a 3 course meal within the town, at a similar level of quality, for cheaper!

Would thoroughly recommend giving this hidden gem a try. Having sampled both lunch and grill nights there is something to suit everyone. Lunch offers you a full 3 course lunch or you can opt to have only a main and all very reasonably priced, plus you have to give the freshly made bread a try. The restaurant is situated on the top floor (which is accessible by lift) with lovely panoramic views, and the staff attentive and knowledgable.

Apple Tree Restaurant at Grantham College is a friendly and atmospheric eatery where I have sampled a wide selection of beautifully cooked and presented food. The menu is adventurous and yet always has something that you can choose to suit your taste. Having experienced fine dining and grill night I cannot praise the staff enough both kitchen and front of house. The welcome is warm, the food is superb and the price is amazing.

As my daughters (3years old) first experience of a fine dining restaurant I couldn't have asked for better quality food, value for money, attentive staff or fun. As a picky 3 year old the kitchen specially cooked her chips and peas (with homemade tomato ketchup) whereas my husband and I had different dishes to check out the menu. We went on the Thursday night which was a grill night and the mixed grill for main my husband ordered was bigger than him! The meats were cooked to his preference and melted in the mouth, according to him. The total bill was under £40 which we were more than happy to pay
