A charming and unassuming gem of a place! Amazing food and such lovely hospitality :) Warm and friendly, a really nice cosy cafe feel, and on a quiet road. We even bought some more back off the menu which is frozen and I can't wait to try! Not from near this area, was my first time but will hopefully visit again soon, for this place alone

Visited for the first time this evening. Tony the owner is very hospitable and friendly. He offered us a complimentary hot drink upon arrival even though we only wanted a take away. We ordered Stifado and Spanakopita, both were nothing short of fantastic.Every aspect of our visit was brilliant. We spent around 20 minutes just sitting, having a coffee and a good chat with Tony even though our food had been made and bagged up long before then. We cannot wait to return and will be a more than regular visitor.

We popped in for lunch and sat outside in the shade to enjoy Tony's feta & spinach pie with salad. Tony is charming, chatty and generous, giving us complimentary tea/coffee and baklava as it was our first visit. It certainly won't be our last! The food was hearty, home-cooked and tasty and the ambiance encouraged us to sit and relax longer than usual. Thanks you, Tony. See you again soon.

We had walked past Antonio's a couple of times and had decided to give it a try. We are really pleased today that we did, because the food was good, honest Greek food and the service friendly and cheerful. The spinach and feta pie was simply delicious, with a lovely fresh salad, and there was a good selection of Greek & Cypriot classic dishes on the menu. He does serve a range of cold drinks, but we settled for orangeade, which camenfeom Cypress. We had some lovely home made baklava to follow accompanied by a decent cup of tea and a nice strong coffee (the drinks were complimentary as it was our first visit!!) Tony even gave us a chocolate! Nothing was too much trouble and this little corner cafe looks like it could become a regular favourite!! A really lovely experience.

I thought it best to let everyone know that at the moment due to a fire this place has been closed for some time. I believe that the owner has a Facebook page so further news may be on there.

Amazing food and Tony is such a lovely man, he welcomes everyone with open arms. My kids never leave his shop without a sweet or a drink given by Tony. Bearwood wouldn't be the same without his café. I am especially a fan of the vegetarian moussaka, the feta and spinach pie and the hummus is to die for. Not to be missed!

This is a fantastic little piece of Cyprus/Greece tucked away in (not so exotic) Bearwood. Among the Greek traditional dishes such as moussaka and stifado, you can also get British staples such as sausage, egg and chips. This little place seats about 12 and is fast becoming a favourite with the locals. I had the Beef Stifado, which is a slow cooked meat stew. It was served with chips (I could have had rice) and a salad, with a feta cheese dressing. I would have taken a photograph, but once I tried it, I forgot about pictures and just had to polish it off. It really was an excellent stifado and over the years I have eaten quite a few, in and around Birmingham, and throughout Greece. The owner, Tony, is a reasoned restaurateur and offers unhurried, relaxed, old-world traditional hospitality, that makes you want to go back. I heartily recommend it. I will be going back.

Lovely little homely place, slightly off the beaten track of the main high street. Only about 12 covers but as it's situated on a corner, it is has lots of natural light. The owner, Tony (Antonios) is a great host, in the old unhurried tradition. Had a good time reminiscing about Greek restaurants in Birmingham from the past, and surprised to learn that he had worked at some of the one's I'd been to. I knew I recognised him. To eat, I had a Moussaka with salad, a coffee (with a couple of refills) and a desert of a puff pastry swirl filled with cream cheese, and had change from a tenner. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely be going back to work my way through the menu and practise my Greek. Well worth a visit.

Antonio previously ran several restaurants in Bearwood, so he offers a load of culinary skill, customer service expertise, and fresh tasty food for a great price. The place is 'bijou' in capacity (it can sit 13 at a push) but this is part of its charm. You really get the personal approach here as well, and Tony is always happy to chat to you if you like. Although predominantly offering food retail - both of the Greek food Tony stocks - and the food he cooks, you are welcome to sit and eat there too, (currently only open lunchtime into the afternoon). Not to do the latter would be to miss out. It's worth fitting your schedule around Tony; it's THAT good.Feta and spinach pie, moussaka, beef stifado, greek salad, hummous and pitta bread, huge shiny olives...I could go on. If you like Mediterranean food this should be your Mecca. All of this...for about £11 a head. Antonio's isn't licensed so bring your own drink if you want to. He runs a generous, relaxed establishment - to call it a 'cafe' wouldn't do it justice - that is excellent value. Homecooked food, quality ingredients, excellent value. There are no end to how hard Antonio works to satisfy his customers and he is unfailingly attentive to your every need.If you read my other revues, you will appreciate that I take no prisoners and am rather exacting... Antonio's passes with flying colours for an informal, convivial place for lunch.A great time guaranteed.
