Antelope Inn in Gwynedd

Just been to the Antelope Inn by the the Menai Bridge Bangor, had a lovely meal and would recommend the steak and rib combo it was superb, also would like to say a big thanks to Nev and Ame for the service and making my wife and I feel at home, looking forward to coming back.

Went in on Thursday and had a lovely meal, the waitress Jess was very friendly and chatty which made for a lovely atmosphere and overall experience.

Pretty sure 90% of the menu is dinged, unfortunately. Wouldn't return to eat. Waste of such a nice location.

It's a lovely, family-friendly pub with standard pub fare. Jess served us and she was great.

Our go to place. Love the food and the staff are all really friendly and welcoming. Jack the manager always has a smile and a chat Will keep coming back. Love the old faithful burgers. Tasty and delicious.

I had Hunters chicken, chips and peas,it tastes lovely and the chicken was lovely and moist too. my man had the large fry up with rump steak and gammon and they looked really good he enjoyed it. A bit quiet there but I prefer that to too many people, didn't realise it closed at 9.30 though until they asked if we wanted anything else to drink at 9.15. definitely go again, they have great deals there too mid week. Good value for money, plenty of parking in the rear.

Had a very pleasant lunch, service was lovely, we were served by Jess who was efficient, kind and very smiley :) would happily visit again!

Lovely friendly staff, especially to my doggie, gave him dog treats and welcomed him..you can sit in the restaurant area and eat with your doggie...fast and efficient service, hot and tasty food and good value and choice...shout out to the bar tender with dark hair and pony tail, lovely customer service.

We visited The Antelope twice during a recent weekend break away to Anglessey. This pub has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, the food was gorgeous, the staff were friendly & attentive. Free parking by entering your vehicle reg on a console inside the pub. A bonus for us is that it’s dog friendly for our two whippets. We’ll be back if we find ourselves in this location.

Reasonable prices for food .go quite often never had a bad meal .

Great pub food, quicker than they said aswell, efficient service at the bar, helpful barman Jack, made me a lovely cocktail, my new fav!

The hospitality we got given at the restaurant was amazing,we had a large group out for food for 60th birthday meal,the communication between myself and the staff was amazing making sure everyone's orders were complete,the management had decorated the room for us and had gotten the tables sorted out for us,the food was great,the atmosphere and the politeness of the staff was amazing,Highly recommend

Great service from Willow and JD :) They really held it together despite the rain drizzling through the ceiling of the bar. It was NYE 6-8pm and barely anyone was in the bar, so the atmosphere was a bit flat. Food was good, but the steaks were a bit tough. Great value for money. Drinks were good too, though there were no ales on tap. Would I go back? Yes, for a value meal and good service, but not for a special occasion.

Had the mixed grill and boned beef in barbeque sauce. Both cooked well and lovely. The ice cream sudaes were great, the new mince pie one being lush with the mince pies warm. Servers Jack and Jade always very friendly. Nothing too much trouble. Decor looking a little tired in places/some chairs seen better days. Overall a good value place to eat with great staff.

Service and food is brilliant, every time we go we find people laughing and chatting with each other and the staff. even when busy they try to go out of their way to make you feel appreciated.

Had a (big ) workspace do at the Antelope. I liked the interiors, views and festive decors. Food portions were generous and tasty. Jack behind the bar was very attentive as well as his colleagues.

Nice location next to the bridge, staff are very friendly which creates a nice atmosphere.

Everything was great, foid, service, heating etc.

The meal was good, only if you visited the place make sure you read the signs as a week later I found I had a parking ticket of 100pounds not pleased, will not visit again as there was no other parking place on Barron ground next door to the Antelope".

Good meal in a restful atmosphere

Waited 1 hour 20 mins for food, no recognition for this, noone checked in with us as we were eating. Food was OK but service was lacking.

Went in without a reservation,got seated and served quickly. Food was piping hot and very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. ******

From the start service was poor and quality of food was poor but to top it off the table next to us had maggots in their food. When we asked for a refund as clearly it will be an issue with food hygiene in the kitchen we were refused. Will not be returning

Me and my elderly father came in yesterday lunchtime,both of us got the hunters chicken with chips,it took 30 minutes for it to arrive,the lady that served us was lovely,when the food arrived the chips were luke warm and the chicken was tough,not only that the portion sizes were like the childrens portions and when we arrived home me and my father had diarrhoea,the only good thing about this place is the pint of guiness and the lovely young woman who served us!

We stopped for a pint but saw the menu and decided to stay for food. The prices were really good. I wanted the fish and chips, but it had sold out. So I had gammon it was nice, service was friendly and polite. Overall pleasent. Oh yes I ordered "double chips with the meal, and yes you get double chips 👍

Came here with my boyfriend recently, can’t stress enough how polite the staff were and how accommodating they were. The food was absolutely amazing as always too. One of my favourite places to visit!

Depressing place! Stopped for a quick drink overlooking the bridge and it was throughly depressing. They couldn’t even be bothered to mow the grass in the beer garden!

This place should be amazing given the views, including a great one of the bridge. Instead it's basically derelict and dirty, food looked sketchy, drinks range bang average and thought the photo of the grass being overgrown summed this place up where the views were amazing.

The best fish and chips. Perfect batter and fish is freshly cooked and yo u can tell the cooking oil is new. We been here 2 consecutive days to have our late lunch and dinner. Quality food and good price plus the view from the Menai Bridge absolutely perfect. thank you so much. XX

Went to The Antelope for a charity music event raising money for Bangor Cathedral Foodbank. Lots of local performers put on a great day of entertainment. There was a good space outside for the stage and plenty of seating and standing space for people watching. Also a good garden area for kids activities. Food was good and served quickly, with a good selection of drinks available at the bar. Plenty of parking at the back of the pub, which is free if you enter your registration at the terminal by the bar.

Visited for the first time today. Good value food, we all enjoyed our meals and desserts. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely return when in the area again.

Food looked like it was in the freezer for a year. But tasted alright. Bad table service. They make you order on an app which then the WiFi isn't great. Really dirty and old place. No one comes to give you your good unless you mention your food. The only really good thing about the place, is that you have a nice view and free parking.

The food that we had was average at best . Burger was nice chips ok. My wife had one of the salads no dressing the plate was swimming in water and chunks of white cabbage not strips but chucks . One of my kids had the all day breakfast no butter on the toast or on the plate toast was rock hard and cold . My son had a wrap the less said about that the better . Chef was cleaning the tables when we came in maybe he should stick to that because he had no pride in cooking . !!!

Lovely location, free parking for customers (you must enter reg details in restaurant), easy to order food online or at the bar. Staff are friendly. The food was delicious! Steaks came out on cast iron sizzling plate and was cooked to perfection. The beef ribs were succulent. Desserts were yummy too! This would have been a 5 star from me had it not been for the fact that there was a thick layer of dust on the ledge to the side of where we were sat. Really good value! Highly recommend.

Upon of booking online I specifically noted that one guest had dairy free alegies! Booked a table for 5 guest but upon arrival was told they only had tables for 4 but was willing to add a chair. We accepted then ordered our meal at the bar. Again I specifically told them my 3 Yr old granddaughter had dairy allergies She wanted a burger but the waiter served her a cheese burger!!!! What part of dairy allergies don't they understand! They then took her meal away to correct it that took at least 20 minutes. By the time they served her meal it was too late as she had ate half of my meal. This could of been a life or death situation all they said was oh sorry!

Food was great, view was nice and staff were friendly! Hope to visit again in the future!

Came here for food with the wife, living locally we both Love the antelope, idealistic location with superb views of Anglesey and the bridge, very content with the food I had a burger to which was cooked to perfection drowned down with a lovely cold pint staff were very friendly in accommodating my wifes dietary requirements, pricing was very reasonable will definitely be sure to visit again.

Came here with the family a few days back and have been meaning to write a review since. I feel that the Antelope in is a prestigious dining experience that offers and caters towards all demographics (Even dogs), the staff are very hands on and knowledgeable about the selection they offer ranging from an excellent menu of both food and drinks that has something for everyone. Aswell as housing a very ‘home-ly’ dinning and beer gardens respectively. The staff as stated are knowledgeable and friendly helping us to decipher the right meals for our table and even went as far as to help my son to win something on the claw machine. Overall a fantastic culinary experience that ticks all the boxes of a successful and prestigious dinning experience. 5/5
