Unloved, grubby and sad looking. Toilets are horrible. Only positive - my glass looked clean. Aberystwyth has some lovely places and this really should be a gem due to location but it's not.

It had cheap beer a d wi e. Very friendly and good service.

This place doesn't serve food (but Google won't let me not put anything!). Fantastic bar, great vibes, good events, bar staff are lovely and door staff are brilliant.

Great to see Paper Jam here last night. Toilet facilities are in need of attention and very unsanitary. Lovely vibe and atmosphere other than the extortionate heat level to entice you into buying drinks. Staff were friendly but the no standing on the benches rule only seems to be enforced when it suits them. Quite crampt but it was very busy and a few dodgy types about.

What people say about the bouncers is correct. Extremely rude personnel, tried to physically fight people and yelled rude words on the street to people on the street. Not returning ever.

Staff are lovely, cozy atmosphere, drinks aren't too dear if you exclude spirits, Bouncers some of the worst in Aber you'd think they'd come straight out of prison, highly infamous and regularly aggressive

Well known spiking spot where peados attack people who put peados in prison. Mostly filled with conspiracy watching pot smokers that believe everything they here without questioning it... the police don't even know the procedure of getting some test for GHB... scummy town

As a Uni student almost every girl I know who has gone to Angel has been roofied there. Happened to myself and I ended up getting kicked out alone with my phone dead because they said I was harassing people even tho I was very obviously drugged and told them that. I only drank HALF of the drink I got drugged in and my friend ( who is 6’5 ) drank the other drink and half. If I had drank both drinks that were roofied I doubt I would be alive right now considering how massive he is and how drugged we both were. Luckily, he came out the pub a few minutes after but we both have zero recollection of how we got home. If you are a woman in Angel watch your drink like an absolute hawk and keep your hand over it AT.ALL.TIMES. Went to staff multiple times during the day asking to talk to the manager about getting roofied there and to ask for them to review the footage since I knew exactly where I was and what drink it was. After many failed attempts lucky a member of staff who knew my friend that got roofied called the manager to come in and speak to me. I was told they would speak with their bouncers about the safety considerations they need to make for girls who have obviously been roofied yet everytime I have been since have not seen a change. They told me it was the BARTENDERS job to watch for spiking even tho on drum and bass nights it is so busy that would nearly be an impossible ask. Two of my close friends got roofied AGAIN on drum and bass night not long ago. If you are a woman never go to angel alone, and there seriously needs to be changes made for security, management, and staff. They never got back to anyone I know after promising to look through footage which I doubt even happened as to sheerly how common being roofied is in this pub I doubt at this point they don’t bother. It’s a chill place to hangout with friends on a slow night, so it’s a shame.

Been coming here for years, hasnt got any better just worse. Uncomfortable atmosphere, unkempt, the staff are miserable and the cieling collapsed. The bouncers direct slurs under their breath and aggressive behaviour at guests all while ensuring their ID is hidden. Not to mention some bouncers perving on the women coming in. I witnessed a boy getting beaten by his girlfriend only for the bouncers to laugh at him and accuse him of being weak. Bar staff and bouncers do their aggressive mates favours, allowing some people to cause fights and take away the individual who's been hit. The back room isn't much better, the events are slapped together and i've only heard one decent band in 4 years. Being spiked in Angel is common knowledge, the unemployed, young student clientel are foul. During the day the atmosphere is non existent and even a little uncomfortable. All-in-all a vile place where you can expect to have a bad time if you dont suck up to people there or aren't easily intimidated.

Rude staff, owners uncontactable, drinks taste off - avoid at all costs. No food, no good.

Dogs welcome and friendly staff. Very pleasant staff, made up a mocktail for me that was perfect for the clammy day. Dog friendly inside too. We sat near a TV with a random film on after a day on the promenade.

Drinks are overpriced and full of mixer. It's a real shame to see an Aberystwyth staple producing such lack luster service and products. Definitely won't be going back regardless of how shiny and pink the paint job is. Rummers and bar 46 way outweigh the quality here. Don't waste your time.

Aberystwyth Historic Venue. It has a pub area and a dance floor. The locals mix with the students, being a meeting point for people of all ages. They have recently expanded their catalog of events and offer themed nights ranging from pub quizzes to electro nights.

I have face painted at many events over the years at The Angel Inn and always a great vibe and friendly staff behind the bar. The nights put on all different genres of music, they are always fun and lively. If you like dancing perfect place!!

Great traditional pub with carpet on the floor, good beer in the pumps, pleasent and helpfull staff behind the bar a "proper" pub. And at the weekends they have a big room out the back where you can get down to so banging tunes, its got my vote.🦂🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒

The Angel is the kind of pub you can feel at home in if you are early enough or if you are late enough, depending on what you want your home to be like. Early in the day it can be a quiet pint with a cosy mood, late at night it can be the best rawkous activity whilst being able to hear what people are saying. It's open until 4am most nights, I love The Angel and I hope you do to.

I am utterly discusted by the way the General manager and security treat people. I witnessed female's being thrown out onto the streets with no regard for their safety. The General manager is a female and should have more regard for the safety of lone females in these very frightening times. People are being spiked and worse. The General manager was trying to enforce rules which weren't known by the public, this caused absolute mayhem and a loss of money for the establishment

Horrible experience, manager of the angel very unprofessional and rude. We paid for an event, and were not allowed back in due to unexplained reasons. Bounces were also unreasonable and bullish.

First time experience, pleasant atmosphere, great staff .

I'd normally say this is one of the best bars in town, but today the staff (apart from one lovely lass) have been rude, swearing, and putting two fingures at the customers. All because they didn't agree with their choice of song on the jukebox, which they paid for. Not impressed.

Skipped sweet caroline when people singing, atmosphere died.

Unreasonable behavior by one of the bouncers. Baring outsiders (non local) people from entering. So much so, the second bouncer questioned the first‘s judgement. Leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

Very pleasant small pub with seating outside, gentleman behind the bar was very courteous and helpful and service prompt and efficient. Worth a visit it has lots of character.

It's a nice place. Has a bit of a reputation but you can go there knowing they are serious about social distancing and have high expectations in terms of customer behaviour. I met some great people when I went there for a Wales footy match!

Bit restricted during covid by lack of tables and chairs. It's partly a disco pub set up. Beer pretty cheap and table service really good. Recommended.

Lovely place nostalgia, once many years ago I had my daughter's birthday party here, in their function room. Just having soda water and slice of lemon and lime. Even better there was not charge.🎉🎉

A very nice rustic bar. Great and cosy atmosphere when it is quite. Great selection of draught and spirits. A few things let it down, namely the lack of card payment and that it can become uncomfortably cramped when busy.

A proper pub atmosphere. Not the cleanest place and they only take cash but the staff are really friendly and so are the bouncers. Their mint Aero shots are a must have though.

Dated like a fine wine. Old school style but there was the finest selection of rum, whiskey, gin and everything in between. I can't say the word 'fine' enough. I. Love. This. Pub. It has everything.

No need for any formalities. What you see is what you get. Good music, good atmosphere. And dog friendly. What more do you need to know If you haven't had woods rum yet give it a go. Best pub in Aber for the ones that live a good pint.
