Now this was in my opinion was the best chippy in Redditch, but just lately everything has gone sloppy and I mean that literally. Sloppy chips , sloppy batter and it’s not a 1 off as it’s been like this for a few weeks. Time to find another chip shop !!!

Awesome place, food , staff , portions and the kinda size of cod you want for your doe.

Best chip shop in redditch also friendly staff also do delivery Monday to Saturday 5 till 9 they are apsutley fantastic shop and the people are fantastic .the bosses are fantastic people .xxx

Excellent food and service! Always has been the best Chippy in Redditch. The food is always great quality, fresh & hot. The portion sizes are generous compared to other chippys, and great value for money. All the Staff are really friendly & welcoming. I highly recommend the fish and chips or the mixed meat kebab!

Ordered a small fish and chips at 20:30 tonight. Big mistake the fish was disgusting, suspect it had been left in the warmer cabinet for hours! Avoid this takeaway after peak times!

Bought large cod and chips and large cod by itself last night 23/03/2024. It was awful! Both the cod fillets were dry inside, luke warm and wrong texture, not in the least bit flakey. In fact, I don’t think it was cod at all. Avoid!

The best chippie in Redditch. As with everything these days it's become a lot more expensive than the old days but that's life in England unfortunately. Amazing food!

I love going here as the food is absolutely amazing and they always cater for your needs. Always talk to you and keep you company when your food is being done. The staff are absolutely lovely they always cater for me and my daughters, and if I ever need anything, very happy amazing 💯 The food is so fresh and delicious 🙌🏽

This is without the doubt the best Chippy in Redditch. The food is always top quality, fresh & served piping hot. I’ve also found that Andy’s portion sizes are much bigger than other chip shops too, which is great value for money for sure. All of the Staff are all really friendly & welcoming. I highly recommend the mixed meat kebab, absolutely delicious!

Great tasty fish and chips from Andy’s Redditch. We will be back!

We visited tonight, ordered large chips, battered sausage, small fish and curry sauce to share. We ate half the chips, they were just a soggy mush, the fish was seemed very slimy and the sausage was undercooked, we ate half the chips, had a fork each of the fish and one piece of the sausage, the rest of it went in the bin. I did try calling the shop and the owner made no comment regarding any of the food except to say the fish must have been fine as he had cooked it himself. No apology or attempt to rectify the situation. so we basically spent £14 on half a portion of chips. Feeling very disappointed as we have visited here in the past and had excellent service and food, this is my previous review: 'Our second visit today, excellent again! My son and I are creating an index of our local chip shops, as part of home learning during the covid situation, currently Andys is ahead on the leader board for portion size, value and flavour! A clear winner in fact. Our review order is regular chips, regular fish (wrapped separately cos we don't like s&v on the fish) regular curry sauce. My only concerns were customers and staff not wearing masks! Oh, they don't have a regular fish, it's 'standard' or 'large' so last week 'regular' was 'standard' this week it was large. No problem though as both sizes were delicious! Highly recommended 👍👍👍'

Popped into Andy's Fish Bar and saw they had fresh roe yes I thought just what I need, so asked to put one in for me, just a five minute wait, lovely. We'll when it was done I could not believe the size of it, I have never seen anything like it before it was massive. I had ordered chips as well but when got home I had to sacrifice most of the chips to actually accomplish eating all the roe. Definitely recommend as I don't believe you will get better anywhere else.

Can’t believe how downhill the quality and portion sizes have got. Food was cold portion of reg chips was like a small fish was more batter. I had chicken pie it’s the only thing I ate all day boy did I have bad diarrhoea!! It’s not cheap either I won’t use again.

We went to andys and had spent very nice and hot food staff very friendly and helpful shop very clean

I live within two minutes walk of this place but have to drive to other local establishments' as thier chips are dreadful ,huge things ,have complained and been told they have reduced them but have seen no improvemnet ! Food delivery drivers reguarly make the same comment/feedback but they are not listening at all!! To add insult to injury recently imposed a £20 minimum for credit cards and with a tiny tub of baked beans at around £1.80 its a place I will never visit again. Was great with previous owners !!!

Always used this chippy even when it was Merchants ….the owner is friendly, decent portion ..but lately the chips are so thick we never enjoyed them …and it’s not the cheapest but don’t mind that when they if they were nice ….so we’re going to try somewhere else which is a shame …..I’ve always said best chip shop ..but not for us now ……

Wow it's amazing the Kebab here...I don't even live in the area but I popped by for work..I seen a big queue outside for lunch so I thought I would stop by to give it a try...Doner kebab meat is super tasty and cooked to perfection and veggies are super fresh, big chunky chips also taste great...not a local to the area but if I was it would be my favourite fish and kebab place I think 👍💯... I would recommend the Lunch box snack offer 🤩

I've had chilli sauce on my kebab meat up and down the country. I've had good hot ones and one or two that needed improvements but I can honestly say that Andys chilli sauce was the worst I've ever ever tasted. I threw away my entire meal as this awful stuff covered everything and was totally inedible. I challenge Andy to eat it himself! Bet he doesn't! I would recommend you avoid it like the plague.

Great fish and chips. They also do a great range of other tasty treats. The chips are chunkier than others you might have had, which makes very a very pleasant dinning experience. Quick service with friendly staff. Plenty of free parking in front of the shop.

Service shocking! Always have to queue for ages. Just walked out as staff take so long to serve customers. I'd rather go without. Don't bother unless you have an hour to waste!!

Soggy batter on fish, fish not fresh and flavourful. SF Chicken pieces were the lowest if quality. Travel a bit further and go to the Flying Fish. World's apart

Well, I never normally do reviews, but just had coated chicken with spicy spuds and was very impressed. The chicken was of good size and juicy the spuds were small but very tasty...and at good value for money....Everywhere else I get this is normally over priced and the chicken is mostly bone and over cooked.

Very friendly polite staff, but sadly the chips I had were awful. It may be that it was comeing to the end of the lunchtime opening, but the chips were like rubber, I assume they must have been cooked for a while and stood in the warmer. They were inedible sadly.

Went to grab lunch from here today and was so dissatisfied with the quality of food! My Cod batter was soggy and no way was the chips cooked fresh at all! Felt as if I had last nights chips! Not a happy customer at all! And the girls behind the counter looked miserable! Shall know where to avoid next time

Poor quality both food and staff. Everything used to be so much crispier and less greasy, but the quality has gone down so much. Chips are soggy and extremely greasy, the oil was still leaking from the paper. And it’s so soggy that it’s stuck on the paper. Ordered chicken and mushroom pie but got a steak pie. Staff is rude and not even wearing masks! Portion size maybe big but quality over quantity please.

I am in shock..we just had "fish n Chips"from here... how anyone can pass off mashed up fish as a portion of fish I don't know! It was like what you get inside a fish cake...not much of it either!! . .100% not a piece of fish let alone cod!!! .. when we cut into the "Fish" the oil just ran through our forks.. im so annoyed as it wasn't cheap...these people are charging full prices for definitely not what they say they are serving! You should be ashamed of yourselves... We were warned..never again!!

Used to use this chippy when it was Merchants and was always impressed.Now it's Andy's and I'm still impressed.Walked in to a father Christmas statue which my daughter loved and a finger buffet that was free to customers which was a nice touch.The shop was recently refurbished and they've done a great job, modern and clean.Queue was around 6 people, but the staff processed it quickly.Ordered chicken kebab meat & chips special. Ate at home and loved it. Chicken was tasty and the chips were perfectly cooked. Nice bit of hot chilli sauce too. Will be back.

Just had a large cod & chips. Awful, fish smelt of petrol, didn’t eat it. Considering I waited on chips they were very poor. Won’t go back and definitely wouldn’t recommend ☹️

Food here is always fresh and plentiful. Lovely chips generous fish portion. Half chicken legs minibits and pukk pie sausage Never greasy. Nice thick curry sauce. Pleasant ladies serving. Easy to park also have very nice halloumi

visited here off the cuff on a Tuesday, and was pleasantly surprised on both the service and quality, the best cod and chips me and my family have had in a long time !!! Definitely be back !
