New owners much nicer place friendly staff,they don't do food though,kitchen is being refurbed.

Great pint of my favourite- Neck Oil served by very competent and polite staff.

Couldn't stay but very nice gentleman bartender, with tatood arms, will be back next time in Porthcawl.

This pub has seen a fantastic resurrection over the last 6 months. Extremely popular village pub due to the great publicans running the place. Well done!

Decent local pub. We had pizza from a temporary setup just outside the pub. It was good, but a bit pricey.

Friendly local pub with a very pleasant outside area, and dog friendly too. I can recommend the Brains SA, lime and soda water, but most of all the delicious warm pork crackling!

Kitchen is closed for refurb so no cooked meals are available for a while however there were bar snacks available despite this there was a buzzing atmosphere and a comfortable place to have a beverage

Beautiful pub inside with a lovely view over the green. The owners are clearly spending time and effort to give the best customer journey. Warm friendly very clean welcoming environment excellent beer and choice, highly recommended.

Added bonus with sport on the TV. Called in with friends to watch the rugby and a fantastic atmosphere.

I've rated the food, though we only had a pack of crisps lol (Piper's beef 👌🏻). Nice interior (aware they've had a refurb) with a few tables tucked into nooks or window bays (in the pool/dart room side). Friendly staff gave us a warm welcome. Thumbs up from us 👍🏻

New management and busy creating a fantastic local pub. Welcoming and friendly. Can't wait for their food menus.

Stopped in today but sadly the kitchen is closed for refurb. But we were made to feel super welcome and our 14 year old loved trying the different flavour j20s whilst we played gin rummy with the cards supplied - thank you xx

01/01/2024: Recently changed hands & still having refurbishment. Currently no food available as the kitchen is still being refitted. Still friendly staff & a great atmosphere 👌 Polite staff, reasonably priced & dogs welcome. Alas they had run out of flakes for my wife's pint of lager 🤣

Great to have the Brit back open ,The marine bar pool team had a fab night , lovely welcome be the new landlord and stuff. I wish the all the best . Great for the village and town . Ps please don’t close before time that’s a disease in this town.

Recently refurbished, under new ownership. Great family pub. Friendly staff and excellent rugby watching venue.

Sticky floor, sticky bar, would say cheap and cheerful normally but it was neither.

We had a sunday roast here absolutley beautiful, we will definitley be back.

Wonderful atmospheric restaurant with a stunning ingredients outlook onto the Odet River. Fabulous cuisine and a friendly welcome.

Only ad couple pints but door going out by pool room u could see all rubbish it wasnt cleanest. Plus all plastic glasses were in mens toilet. Glad i wont be there again.

Missing a trick this place. It could be really nice. But it's a messy, untidy. Need to at least sweep the cigarette ends up. This place could be so nice. What is wrong the the people who run this pub. I went in to order our drinks and the bar maid was sitting on a stool reading a book!! Get outside and sweep up. Do some weeding. Put some rubbish in the bin. Such a same to see what could be something special look neglected. Good prices is all it has going for it at the moment.

Quite quiet when we visited, but friendly staff and a good game of pool

If I could give 0 stars I would. Don't bother coming here. We were blatantly ignored the moment we walked in. We waited for quite a while, servers saw us, then walked by. We finally had to ask how to order and they said they stopped serving (apparently right after we walked in, as they were serving others at that time). Tourists stay away - apparently they prefer that.

Stopped off here for a drink or 2 while walking the dogs. Lady at bar was very friendly and welcoming. Dogs allowed which is a bonus.

Right firstly the food was lovely, friendly service and great atmosphere. We went for a little walk and upon returning to the van we had issues with it, the land ladies son couldn't do enough to help and got us up and running and on such a hot day even offered us a drink. Not only a fantastic pub but fantastic people!! Can't thank you enough mate 😁😁

Popped in here off the cuff for a couple of drinks on a hot day. Lovely to sit outside and simply watch the world go by.

Bar staff where a bit lackluster and not very welcoming. However the locals were absolutely lovely. The beer was cold that's a good thing 😁

Lovely traditional, family run public house.

Although the bar was a little dark and dull, the food was good and the staff were very friendly. Dogs are also allowed in which is great!

After a walk on the beach, decided to stop off for a drink at this dog friendly pub. Made to feel welcome. Had a cracking log fire, friendly staff and a nice range of beers. Our “quick pint” turned into several rounds as the atmosphere was so relaxing. Would visit this pub again when we’re staying locally next time. Five star recommendation from me.

Dog friendly. All call in for a pint and a fish finger sandwiche after walking dog on the beach. Weather has always been good so always sat outside.

We went back in this lunchtime after a lovely lunch there 2 months ago. We went in just after 12 and had a nod from one of the staff. I chose the same table as last time, by the fire, but found a black work diary on one table, a duster/dishcloth on the floor, a cigarette on the other table and a empty cigarette packet top left on the seat. We sat down, I moved all the things onto the other table and waited for one of the women to come over. One of them did come walking towards us but turned the television on and put the volume up to a very high level. My husband wears hearing aids so the loud music was even worse for him. He suggested we move to another table, but I said let's just wait to see how long it takes to be served. We waited for someone to take our drinks order. We waited for quite a while, no one came over. Then the alarm went off. That was the last straw, we started to get up. One of the women said that it was alright it was just that the alarm hadn't been turned off from last night. We just put on our coats, got our dog from under the table and left. We were hoping for the fire to be lit, like our last visit, it was colder and two months later, so a warm, welcoming fire would have been lovely. It was terrible service, I don't even know if they noticed we had left. I would have thought in the present climate customers would be welcomed with opened arms not ignored.

Fantastic Sunday lunch here, just be prepared to wait longer than expected as it gets extremely busy, but worth the wait, delicious 😋 Very cosy pub, very friendly welcoming staff

Really pleasantly surprised with this dog friendly pub and a welcoming real fire, just the thing as it had started raining and was getting colder. The prices were reasonable and the service excellent 👏.

On the day we visited there was only basic food available, the fish, scampi, burgers were cooked from frozen. There was no healthy or salad options available. If we were to go here again I would hope there would be a better variety of choice. Having said that, what we had was nice and they were 'real' chips.

Tired looking pub that looks like it could do with a complete refurbishment! God awful coffee!! Very busy though due to village fete.

Was staying at Trecco bay but the bars there are full of kids so came here a few times for a peaceful drink as its only a 5 minute walk from the holiday park. Welcoming pub with a good variety of beers on tap. Also welcoming to dogs too. More of a locals pub, also has a darts team, but equally welcoming to non locals too, so recommended if you are staying a Trecco Bay.

Nice little local pub. Had Sunday dinner which was fairly priced, large and very tasty! Good selection of drinks and outdoor seating.
